It worries me when you know they are alone and your not sure where they live. You don't know if they have a phone.

They might just try and come one here. I'm just worried about them.

we were there in oct , its a wonderfull place but i could really see how treifying it must have been and where all the water came from, its set in the hills and there was no way of getting away from it all
    Mornin All,

Hope the weather is being kind to you today? Lynn I was pleased to see you about cus I remembered that was close to you. Too much rain and high water tables are horrible things eh?

    Hi Rehab,

Boscastle was the summer, August I think. We had a bad flash flood this summer as well, only the last one wasn't so big but it did kill 3 people. In that respect Boscastle was lucky. Flash floods are summer especially here and winter is general floods......... Either are horrible eh? It does seem November is a bad month for them, mind so are all the winter ones I guess. Do the midlands flood much? x

    Hi Toni,

Hows the baby? Thingummy wants to know did she get lesson 2 earlier today? There was a bit of a problem with her remembering which mouse to push  I actually was dreaming of mice last night  Thankfully it was another wild night and the driving rain and wind throwing stuff around woke me before they became big mice...........:lol: I have been cursing the gales all week but on that one they done me a favour

She g045.gif wants to know are you up fr a trade with your apron and her flowery tabard? xx

Right I shall grab a builders and a bucket of energy and then go back to the endless clearing up before tomorrows storms hit again....... Soon be spring........

You all have a good day. xx

    Hi all

Ah, bread pudding. That reminds me, Trish, I would still love the recipe when you are back home - I've promised OH some, so I'll be needing VERY simple instructions, thank you very much!! :D

Annie, are you near a river then? I hope you'll be okay. We've been seeing the horrors around us today - it's just too much to comprehend. Everyone is shellshocked. I hope the rain stays away until the water goes back a bit, for you.

I'm ready for something rather strong - there might be an old bottle of cooking sherry somewhere!!!!!

    Lynn xxxxx

Yep, about 100 yards from a river! It's unlikely to bother us with water as the road rises steeply and we are too high up. We generally lose the power, though, when it happens (last time 2005).
Surely this weather can't last much longer, can it? I think it's beginning to get everyone down.

    Hi Lynn

Here I can help you with a proper bottle of sherry. I nicked it from the cane and able.

I thought it had closed down, so I thought I'll keep them for an emergency. Drink up.

Lyy Is the weather going to get worse? I cannot see the news properly in the day rooom as they have the films on.

You keep safe tonight. I hope you are going to be ok.

    Hi there.
    Are you all alright?
What a terrible 24 hrs it has been. My ex's family all live in and around Cockermouth and Penrith. Haven't been in touch with them for years. Needless to say, you wouldn't wish this sort of thing on your worst enemy would you.
I suppose all of his generation have 'moved on'.

That poor policeman's family. Brave man.

These sort of disaster's all seem to happen around Christmas.

Just a quick nightcap and then, I'm off to bed. Had my swine flu jab. I haven't had my tablets yet and I am absolutely bushed.

I really will try and bring some sausage rolls in tomorrow.

Right, there we are - parsnip and ginger soup and I've done some of my favourite beef and barley, too.
All in Thermos jugs, so if anyone's up and about in the night it's all ready.
I'll just have another builders and then I'm off for some zzzzzzzz

    Nite nite all

    Hi Lynn,

A (((( ))) for you and hope the rain will be less tomorrow than the warnings. With luck they will now (too late for now I know) build some decent flood defences though there is rumor Boscastle's will not work should those conditions arise again. Try not to worry too much and I will keep my fingers crossed for you all up there. Cris xx

    Hi Trish,

The winds dropped right down for now, its due back with shed loads of rain early morning....... I hope my repair will hold but will reinforce it at first light cus it wot take mush above a 5-6 and they are gibing more than that just now (again!!). Hope your ok? x

    Hi Joy,

Its always sad isn't t when weather claims a victim. I hope it does all stop soon and that your ex's family are not effected. We used to live on a flood plain years ago and its so horrible even as a child when you don't understand. Its was rural and near the Avon and we just had to live up stairs till it reseeded and then the mammoth clean ups........ Flood defences are always made after the event but they must know the floods are likely? They certainly knew on our floods this way but so far once they bothered to do the defenses they have worked.

You had the swine flu so would you recommend it? They have asked me if I want it........ I have said I'll let them know. Hope your ok by the way? Cris x

    Hi Chris,

Got to go make a smaller lodgers one........ wont be long  x

    Hi Jan,

I had to ask the kids on one of your text slang's......They were only too happy to enlighten me :lol: x

    Hi Annie,

Hope you don't lose your power....... I hope we don't as well....... Its here for a few more days yet but t has to stop soon ...... doesn't it? Nice and quite just now but its due in a few hours...... Going t have to make some turnip soup now (some of you called them Swedes) x

Right a builders and a bucket of energy I think. Hope everyones having a decent evening? x
