Annie, It says it looks like smaller versions of cow parsley or elder. creamy white flowers, deep green leaves. best to look it up though so you know what your looking for. Im going to find it & grow it. Anythings worth a try..

It's getting hotter, I swear. Did some pottering while Oh did the hosepipe watering, was bitten to death by midges within 5 minutes, so was not outside long. Had to close the windows or we will be eaten alive.
Now melting, legs like balloons, hands swelling and back biting me good and proper. Humidity and I are not good mates at all. I could go sit in the car, there's a thought.
N Night Val, rest well.
Julie, you sound to have had a right day of it. Cool hugs.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
we will all be hunting weeds tomorrow
Make sure it is not giant hogweed, that is nasty, the sap burns you, blisters, horrid. They grow near streams and rivers and the leaves are enormous.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Hi Bubbles, Its so hot here. Im trying to get stuff done for the holiday & ive been walking around with a tea towel mopping my brow & upper lip all day, sweat been running down everywhere.Ive never been like this before. There was a nice breeze out there today but that means i'll burn even quickier  Im fair skinned so i have to stay out of it as much as possible.
have you had chance to rest up now?

was determined to get in here for a few minutes .... can't believe how much i have to catch up on   might not manage tonight
Hope you are all ok as you can be, and that you are enjoying the sun more than I am (it's too hot for me  )
Been shopping today and in the garden a bit. Felt better than yesterday when I wasn't up to much
I'll have a huge cuppa whilst I read what's been going on!

We kind of had a day off yesterday, went back to the folks today, to check all was ok, had lunch, did shopping, the town was so packed with people wandering aimlessly that we forgot most of what we wanted to do, plus it was SO hot.
I am fair skinned and burn easily. I dislike humidity with a passion, everything seems like it is heated, the laptop is boiling, the armchairs feel like they are heated...................not a whiff of a breeze outside and our river is all but rocks now, hardly a drop of water.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Cooling hugs back to you Wonky, there will be pages to catch up on, so I will make a fresh pitcher of iced T.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0

Bubbles, I was being snored out of bed last night & i came down at 4.30ish & laid on the sofa. its leather & was so cool but i got so stiff by 8 i went back up & chucked him out of bed
It is cool up there & all the windows are open but then the creepy crawlies get in, cant win. Too hot or too cold. Thats good old british weather for you.
Glad you got to have a day offish.

OH Bubbles that hit the spot thanks
I am just chuckling here as I have just done an online order to our milkman and on Monday as well as the milk he will deliver me some compost and a growbag  Didn't believe it till I saw the long list of stuff they deliver now at least I won't have to try to get hubby to lug it from the shop now.
Glad you had chance for a bit of a rest toay, but I know just what you mean about the heat and humidity. I don't do well in them either .... as became obvious when a 'friend' we met on the way to town told me just how hot I looked when she saw me the day before    I do hope her impression of me was a bit over the top or I must have looked a sight
Cris - thanks for the offer of the strimmer ... .tried to get dad to let us buy him a cheap one and go round to help him ..... but he was determined to get the job done himself   wiht an electric hedge trimmer            How on earth he'll manage that with his bad back I do not know. :x :x :x
right ..... anyone else want some of this delicious iced tea?
hugs

Apparently ( and I would never believe it, I snore like a warthog ). It's all lies, I am sure, but OH usually goes into the spare room. One of our cats snores her head off, bless her.
I am certain I don't snore, maybe gentle breathing, but not like a warthog. :shock:XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Hope the iced T is ok Wonky, thinking on, I will get some when we next hit a shop.
I know we are never happy with the weather, but tonight is one of those "any closer and we will all be touching" nights. I have a bit of a Larry Grayson top lip at the moment, keep wafting a damp face cloth round. Could drag the AC unit out of the coat cupboard and set it up, but not at this hour, will use it tomorrow, for sure.
Trish, hope you are ok hun, if you look in. I know it will be very hot for you too, which is no fun at all. Take care...............XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
AC unit  wow what a wonderful idea ...... got me thinking
we make do with an open window (until the critters get in) and the fan which we leave on all night on a quieter 'sleep' setting.
mind you ....... littlelegs would love the AC unit too she is roasted today ..... poor love.
hugs hugs and I hope you cool down soon.
got to go off to bed now ...... hubby family party get-together to 'look forward to' tomorrow  got a horrid feeling we'll all be parked out in the garden in the blazing sun   and there isn't enough shade for everyone  and well they said they were having a birthday 'tea' but then said we have to be there at 2   on a Sunday it is lucky if we have had lunch by 4 let alone thought about tea
Factor 50 at the ready for tomorrow along with my best stitched-on smiles
sleep well (if you can in the heat)

I will get you a flat lemonade, that should be ok. Sorry that you are feeling rough. The hot weather doesn't help either. Lots of hugs. Have you got any anti emetics?XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
I laid on the top of the bed last night in cotton nighty and window open.
Hubby has asked me if I want a shower with the hose pipe
My oxygen is coming out warm too.0 -
Good luck for Monday, we'll be thinking of you and sending our healing vibes your way. Not sure what the nuclear day will involve, but hope its not too difficult for you, love Brenda xx0
-
The test on Monday, is it a nuclear liver scan? If so, it will involve a small injection into your arm, then wait while the liver takes up the radioisotope, then you lie under the scanner and they take pictures and see where the isotope has accumulated. The injection is ok, apart from the usual ouch with the needle, the isotope is ok, it doesn't usually cause any reaction at all, I was ok with it, when they made me radioactive.
Will be thinking of you and hide in your pocket too.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Thank you Brenda i hope I don't get kidnapped too.
Trish xx0
