Hi Annie, Barbara and Toni,
Just passed the messages on to her and thank you all. xxx
Hi All,
Poor iris is a little less buoyant today by the sounds of it. Its a hard slog this replacement thing and without being able to do too much she is going to be bored as well as having a fair bit of pain.
She said she will beg the nurse to et her use the laptop later but her hand isn't up for typing and is on a list for more surgery its self actually when this one is all better.
The plaster is changed on Tuesday and she is hoping for a light weight one.... I know from breaks the second plaster s more comfortable and well she will see it and have her sutures out as well so that might help.
I am sure this thread is helping her even though she hasn't been able to see it and she has awarded me the 'poop award' it stands for the pigeon of outstanding perseverance and its o a purple ribbonMade me smile to get a poop award
I will fly up again later and I hope she will be allowed to use the lap top soon.
You all take care and leaving you all a (((( )))) and Iris's love as well as mine. Cris xx
Iris if you do look in a (((((((((( )))))))))) Love Cris xxx0 -
Hi Cris, it is great to have updates via your goodself.
How long do they expect Iris to keep her new plaster on for? Will it really be two weeks since the op when she has her sutures out?
Distraction is the answer to keep her mind off the pain ... but concentration after a GA can make that difficult ... send her my love and tell her it really is time she learnt to type with her feet!!
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
