Hi Julie PF
glad you made it out yesterday....even if it was to Lidl.
I wondered if you have a 'helping hand' lifter gadget?....maybe that could help you reach the higher shelves?
hope that your wound is closing and that you get some good advice when you see the rheummy nurse.amazing how different the advice is that we get...isn't it?
now I'm off...I don't want to stop you tidying that comp room.
have a good day PF.
(((hugs)))

Good for you for getting out and testing the water, so to speak. I'm sure people would lift things down for you, I do for the smaller people in this world, including The Husband! Good luck with the tidying, I have no work today - it's a lean week this week, I'm only earning £20! I'm having my neck and shoulders massaged later on today - I can't wait! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Dorcass an DD
Yes I have a helping hand gripper (at first i thought you wanted me to pick up the paper as i was on my way into town) but I cant grip it enough even with two hands to pick up tins etc. My arms dont go above my head so i still cant reach,
People will help me i am sure , i know quite a few people at the local shops they are quite nice and friendly and are used to seeing me on scoot.
(will prob be a shock to see leg missing) not many people know they just see arthur.
oh DD lucky you havin a massage, they always sound really relaxing but i am frightened to go inase they hurt me .
I could have a facial thats a thought.
comp room nice and tidy now, just want to sleep. But I wanted to come back on here and talk, shouldn't i know. OH always says don't fight it.
Will go lay down soon, and have a drink i am gasping.
Speak again soon love julie xxpf (man its warm)0 -
It's not a beauty massage: my woman has thumbs and she knows how to use 'em! She does undo all the knots quite wonderfully well tho, my neck has stopped crunching for the time being. 35 minutes of rubbing strokikng, twisting and slapping for £10. Not bad value at all!
Well done you on getting the tidying done - I'm half way through changing the bed, one of my least favourite jobs. Hopefully all the bedding is dry so I can put the same stuff back on! That'll save hunting out clean linen from wherever I last stashed it! Have a good rest, we'll chat later. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

hi every one
hope you have a good evening

oohhh DD that massage sounds too painful to me.
Glad it gives you relief for a while though, its money well spent if it works.
Wel done you for tackling the bed, a job i don't do and a job i don't miss. Wht i do miss is washing my car and cutting the lawn. If arthur went away tomorrow They would be the first things i would do. I would then go get some nice shoes (not cosy feet anymore) and get a job.
bye for now

Hi Julie, my poor old car rarely gets washed - in fact one of my friends always says that no one would steal it because it looks abandonned!!! I feel safe and comfy driving around in it though. S and I sometimes go down the jet wash - but more for S to have a bit of legitimate water play - fun is the aim rather than how clean we get the car!! (it really needs some T cut.)
I think the local market is a good bet because it is personal service and you won't have to worry about reaching things. How come no one is about when you can't reach something on the top shelf ... yes I'm one of those short people who needs a tall person like DD to pass me things down ...
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
What is wrong with you, woman?! Car washing and lawn cutting are blue jobs in this household ie for The Husband. He grudgingly cuts our very small lawn and I take my car to the hand car wash round the corner: lots of lovely young men swarm around the car and do a wondrous job for the princley sum of £5. Marvellous. Unfortunately I do get the pink jobs of bed changing and cooking Monday-Friday. I would happily ditch both of those. The clean bed last night was, however, lovely. I can understand why you have ditched that task: 'nuff said.
I hope you had a reasonable night and that your wound is behaving. Any great plans for today, or just take it as it comes? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Morning , Not a nice one here, absolutely throwing it down. Glad im not on that whizzy chair, would be dead grumpy. Hate it when hair gets wet. Always swam with head out the water.
Feel much better than I did a couple of hours ago, took paracetamol so head is a bit clearer. Having too many night flushes, keeps waking me. bags under eyes oh what a sight.
Just emailed lisa to ask how she felt after bike ride, poor love she ached all night, but by sunday had recovered. Another couple of outings before october and she will be fine.
Hope you all have a good day anyone doing anything exciting.? Me I am gonna have a lazy day keep popping on forums. No tea to cook tonight Rich goes cycling tonight. Rain snow sleet doesnt bother him. I have a good friend coming to see me tonight. Its nice to have a catch up .
Well peeps tally ho will speak again soon

No, they're not like him, but they have the work ethic and do a good job. Washed, waxed, dried and tyres blacked. Windows done after wash and dry. Daisy looks fab after. Wish they could do the same for the owner. I hope you are enjoying your day. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Morning julie47pf, how are things today? I hope you had some sleep, not too many flushes, and that you are alright in yourself. Is the nurse coming today, or am I in a muddle? That wouldn't surprise me! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Morning PF....

good luck with your appointment at vascular nurse.
hope it's all good news.
Please let us know when you get back.

Morning dorcass
thanks for the toast I really needed it after the app, They aways make me hungry., and for coming with me.
Morning every one
Just been to vascular nurse, app was dead on time. must be because its a new hospital .just like a airport. self checkin, big screens to tell you to a gate no ,big cafe and a whsmith. I thought it was smart, didn't feel like a hospital.
Anyway, to get to the point (us yorkshire peeps go all round the houses to get to the point) She was very pleased with my wound.
Still a bit of sluff coming out but she says not to worry. She has given me som medical grade manuka honey to help it on its way. She even said she would have no problem with me putting on my leg. BUT i told her i go see prosthetics in two weeks and i would rather be measured first to make sure it is still the right size. Don't want to risk anything else going wrong. I can wait.
Anyway you lovely lot I hope you are having a good day, sunshining at the mo. might get rain later.
Take care

Morning DD
Yup you in a muddle hun.
Been to vascular nurse and I am quite pleased . NO vey plesed.
I have written about it just before this message.
How are you doing. Face and body was quite calm last night, legs stayed in bed all night, no fighting with duvet, must have been cooler wit all that rain.
Hope you feel ok DD and have a good day too.
Thinking of you

Hey Ive Been out BY MY SELF in the monster of a chair. Bought meself some flowers for my achievement. Lidl and the halifax bld soc. Didn't go to a counter at halifax though, spoke to some one at the comp nr the door. Reckon it would be hard at counter cause I cant reach when sat down.
Any way 6 wheels on my wagon and I now rolling along (thats a song by the way)
Well i don't want bubble to burst so wil rest watching neighbours and murder she wrote ,
Bye for now love juliepfxx :P
PS iris, no never used manuka before but i have heard it is good
just hope it works on me0 -
You are a brave girl - well done on feeling that confident after your appointment. Ooooooh, I am SO PLEASED for you. Let's hope the honey does the trick, that the wound stops dribbling and that you can get on with sorting out the leg - are you getting a new one or will the old one suffice? I should remember theses details but I is a bit pre-occupied today - sorry. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

DD you make me laugh
your memory is like mine
I hope the leg i have got will be ok, that would put me on two feet quicker but i want to be certain so i need my stump measuring as i feel it is shorter and fatter. (thats probably why i dreamt the other night i had put on two stone) no wonder I have had these night sweats eh! glad to say i am the same size as when i went to bed phew!
catch up later, take care going for a coffee now julie pf xx0 -
Wow Julie, new hospital sounds amazing!! Do you get the special honey from the chemist. (Now I know this is a really thick question - please don't laugh too loudly - but if I don't ask I'll always be wondering - do you have to eat the honey or apply it to the wound??)
Well done for your trip out too.
Speedy
PS I think you are very wise to leave off your leg until they have checked the measurements and so on ... no point setting it back. I f you do need a new fitting - does it take long to have the new one made?I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0
