oh good point about the MOT’s Toni.
i did the steering head bearings on the Duke this morning. Managed to make up a long reach spanner rather than get a special tool and nipped them up a tiny amount but it has taken the tiny amount of play out, I can’t really be cross at the dealership for not being able to feel it. I was a vehicle examiner when I was in the police so in the eyes of the law I am an expert - just blowing my own trumpet there, but there are plenty of jobs I wouldn’t under take now, just happy doing the routine stuff line adjusting the chain and the little job I did this morning.
    i do love that photo.

Sucré got accepted to the private nursery/skool I spoke about recently, then we found out that we can’t split the government funding until new term so I have to pay, 😳but he is worth it and the staff are absolutely lovely so we very happy. Hopefully he will do well and get accepted to reception class next year

Hello to all hope you are all not in too much pain.

Someone asked about my inflammatory markers, they were very high before my trip to hospital.

Quick question my GP has said I could have injections to do with Osteoarthritis firstly do they hurt and secondly does anyone find them of any use?

Also I don’t think I mentioned I’ve now been put on pregabalin for anxiety 150mg twice a day could going up pregabalin help with joint pain?

I don’t know why I haven’t told anyone else apart from my brother and dad since we live together I’ve had to buy a walker.with wheels to get about the house everything just seemed to have happened so quickly I have to use a wheelchair for outside the back of my legs feel like they are stretched akk the time and my knees are in constant pain.

Just having a look at OA on here it seems the stiffness goes in the morning but mine is 24/7 should I have a word with the lovely people on here and ring them up do you think or am I just showing classic signs of OA and sorry for the hundred questions could OA have just started really quickly like mine did in 2022 like overnight. I just want to go to the right person really whether it be private or NHS. I live in Birmingham if that’s any help.

Thanks for all your good wishes and sending love to all of you and your families ❤️🦋❤️🦋❤️🦋❤️🦋❤️

Hi Jewels, I had those injections in my back. They are uncomfortable during the treatment but I wouldn’t say they hurt that much. Unfortunately they didn’t work on me.
just because your pain started as OA doesn’t mean that you don’t have inflammatory as well, I do. Especially if your markers are high.
ask for a referral to a specialist, I did and was told no because a firm diagnosis would not change the treatment plan but I thought I had something serious so I went private and turns out I was right as was diagnosed with polychondritis. So ask for a referral is my advice.

Wishing you all the best and less pain.

Hi all, just a quick one, have had comp problems most of today.. finally got somewhere without invoking chkdsk & scannow and all that.. but as I don't know what it was, no idea if it will do it again 🤷‍♀️.

Love to Frog & Paul & hope you have had a good day 🇨🇵 did a bit of daisy-grubbing earlier & tried to send you a good weeding arm by the power of suggestion 😔. Glad you are finding nice people to cook you suitable things 😊 al fresco is off for now so Sleek & I can take longer over our basket, pains au chocolat & croissants are going in 🤭. My plants, well can't imagine being violently scalped has done them much good 🙄 they can take aggressive pruning apparently but it's a lot to ask to come back from ½"! we'll see. Have been out today making a start on a brick edged border between our front lawns (as I should have done in the first place..) & will stick some larger shrubs in there asap. Another project, just what I need 🤪. All fine otherwise, take care 😘 xx

Hello Joan, I will keep an eye on the plants thank you but I will put something else in as well now. My day was fine apart from computer behaving oddly, it was nice weather ideal sunny not too hot. Have a good Sunday :) xx

Hi to bosh and slightly late Happy Birthday to gas toddler 🎂, sorry short post, glad to hear vampire nurse's technique was good this time (even if the price to pay was some creepy chat 😬), sounds like she has passed the baton for puncturing people on to BR though, maybe the universe demands a certain amount and he has to make up the quota 😱. Glad things went as well as possible today all things considered, see you soon :) xx

Well done to Sucré SK 😀 swallow hard & pay up (& think of when he will repay you from whatever glittering career he has) I guess 😬. Candy kittens yes please, got any watermelon? 😊 Love to all :) xx

Quick wave to Charlestown, and to sandeelilly, catch up soon 😘 xx

Hello @Jewels1973 , I have RA & I always understood inflammatory markers are higher with that than OA, here's one snippet from the internet:- "RA is a severe inflammatory disease, and ESR and CRP are elevated in patients with RA. In contrast, OA is a common joint disease, and it was previously considered that OA was not an inflammatory disease and that serum markers of inflammation were not elevated in patients with OA. However, there are several recent reports that ESR and CRP are slightly elevated in OA." As usual you will see differing opinions though 🤔 so it's not cut & dried.. as your GP is offering you injections for OA is he satisfied that's your main problem? If you are hoping to see someone else would he refer you, I'm not sure what the position was when you last posted (sorry) I imagine it was all disrupted by you being so ill? Others here will have had the injections for OA I expect someone could advise or the helpline as you say. All the best hope things improve for you and you get some definitive answers xx

Have a good night everyone, love to all 😘 xx

    hi toady

How am I still just about awake you ask?

Naughty sugar consumption to be honest

Still one - off - hopefully- lol

BR said there’s a lollipop called mima!

Please don’t tell vampire nurse lol

Yes maybe there’s a National biting quota

Good night toady I’ve got banana ice cream for the milkman - someone has to save me from myself 😱

    Ps ace snail lol xx

There has been sugar consumption here too bosh, not 80% proof but 70% cocoa with raspberries, don't tell LA that's where the ingredients for his swedish sticky chocolate cake went 🤫😉 xx

  • Skinny Keef Mmmmm candy's!!!!

@frogmorton What a lovely car and driver! bet that's amazing to take for a Sunday morning drive! Beautiful!!

Don't forget about my pic of the orange mg

Jewels1973 Not sure about injections in your hip, but I've had hundreds in my fingers and they hurt! Especially because it was important to get the cortisone right do in the middle of the joint so took a bit of trial and error in and back out adjusting the angle and such… … not good memories, had a few in knees and ankle and shoulder too they didn't seem to be as bad

Here's we pic on my mits. Oh and a my baby picture too for everyone too Cheers! Hahahahaha

just having my all too regular night time brew. Catching up on the last day of racing fromIOM TT.

We took Sucré over to the next town for MacD’s for lunch. I went on new bike (like I would go any other way) and he was so well behaved. A pleasure to have around.

Bike is amazing, steering bearings all sorted after the adjustment, no knock and not too tight. I even took the long way home which I haven’t done in ages. Got a slightly suspect oil seal on one of the front forks but I will clean it later today and lube it up and it might calm it down.

every move I make is pain atm. I took the time to re-black all the trim on Loanda’s car yesterday after we had it washed, and didn’t realise how long it would take and how much it would hurt but the car looks brand new again and Anda was happy so it was worth it.

Morning Joan I hope you are feeling ok today so far? It's another lovely day here we are off on our travels again today. Yesterday I played petanque (french boules) left-handed with Paul and came a close second!!!!😂 Take care my friend ((())) xxx

Morning Reshmi Hope you and your Mum are both ok today after yesterday's celebrations.

I am so glad LA enjoyed his cake. Not so sure about adding it to water BR🤢 Although Kari and I did used to try to make fizzy drinks with sherbet and water when we were kids…..maybe he was trying to make hot choc?

    Lorenzo's escapades? I expected nothing less🙄

All well here tres bien in fact. Was too hot again yesterday thank goodness for the aircon in the motorhome. Also pollen count seems through the roof! or skylight in this case….

    Did you enjoy your fish?

we are off today for our 3rd stop south en France.

You might need a recovery day now so take it easy ((())) xxx

    Morning Julie

It's so tough to know what to do when you aren't sure about your diagnosis. Certainly those injections are well-worth a try my MIL used to get a year's reprieve after one and I am actively seeking one for my shoulder. If it doesn't work you've lost nothing.

What tests have they done so far? thing is bloods alone don't give a definitive answer/diagnosis, but scans tend to. those on hands are one of the most useful as the inflammatory arthritises tend to show there. Of course you can ask for a second opinion or pay for one if can afford it.

Pregablin is really good (so I am told) for neuropathic pain I hope it helps you. Of course you can always ring the helpline here I have done in the past they were so lovely.

My youngest was in hospital in Brum in the teenage cancer trust ward I am close by you. My Rheumatologist is in Wolverhampton although l may yet be changed to Stoke.

    Take care ((()))

Morning Colin (who nearly got called Colon😣 typo!)

Hope today is a good day for you.

I am so glad you love the Fig her name is Penelope that's what she was called when I bought her. I drive her most days not just Sundays believe it or not she makes me and everyone who sees her smile☺ I wont forget a pic of the Midget (Spud) when I get home we are currently in France touring in the motorhome.

Your hands look a tad sore, but my gosh you were a cheeky baby have you changed much since?!!!

    Have a good day!

Skinny Keef how are you? I hope not too bad today.

How fabulous you got Sucré into a great nursery I am so pleased. It will do him the world of good and you two too probably although he sounded a little darling yesterday.

This new bike has certainly lifted your spirits😊 that's good yes a tinker in the cars is good MOTs I leave to the experts though in your case it will be far safer than me! One of the things I love about old cars is that you can have a go at doing a lot of servicing yourself. Hope you can sort the iffy oil seal.

I bet Loanda is thrilled with her car now you re-blacked all the trim. It's east to start a job and think oh dear this is a bit much isn't it?

    Have a good Sunday.((())) xxx

Morning Toady hope all is well in Toads garden today.

Sleek was over i know because Charley couldn't find her. She has (Sleek) cat-cams to spot when someone arrives hence her rapid departure yesterday afternoon! I think she got away with it. Charley though she was in the garden.

Your poor plant did not need the extra zealous Chelsea chop did it? Fingers and paws remain crossed for a swift recovery. A brick divider is really a very very good idea even if it is extra work. Sleek has volunteered to be your hod carrier.

I broke my reading specs last

night so need to see whether it's possible to get readers here in supermarkets… and Lucy was really rough yesterday 3 seizures in a row ambulance and trip to A&E Charley was luckily off so able to help out in my absence which was most reassuring. I was absolutely beside myself being so far away.

Off again today further south where the heat may give us a storm! Help! That will be fun really we'll enjoy that tucked up cosily in here.

    Take care ((()))

Love to Charlestown hopefully having a family weekend.

Toni, when did you train Sleek to read a spirit level. Very clever cat!

Sorry to hear about Lucy. Hope she okay.
Harry my first son fell off his motorcycle one year when I was in Spain and I hated not being there for him. I came home early one year due to loneliness and homesickness. You have Paul there to lean on so at least you not alone.

cleaned oil seal but think it’s toast. Only one gone and i need new front brake pads soon so i will book it in, lots of pain after cleaning the seals and i just cannot do the bending twisting to work on bike. It’s got 6 months warranty and i am sure the dealership will look after me. Fingers crossed.
had to head for laydown after doing early dinner for my two. I did Chinese style chicken with stirfry veg.
enthesitis pain burning my pelvis, worst ots ever been. Hope not induced by sporty riding position on new bike 😳☹️

Bonjour Toni - well more like Bon soir now really lol

I’m glad you’re enjoying your trip

    Mums ok 👍

    I am too thanks

We had a lovely day on the whole yesterday thanks

Pollen count was horrific though, I agree

Had that horrible blocked nose and panic attack type feeling last night but then slept well and I feel a lot better now 🙏

LA loved the cake as did little BR

BR called me a “lolly - blob”

But I presume he meant lollipop, bless.

LA got all the L*go and story books a young man could wish for.

He continued to make very funny comments unwittingly

He asked his granny what he should have for dessert at the restaurant- so I answered for her, saying, “ You could eat the smelly cheesecake made of the 5000 year old cheese made in Italy by Louisa’s ancestors”, to which he replied, “Man, not this again, (a phrase he’s learned from bill who used to live in America), mima I’ve told you before, no cheese can be five thousand years old!”
That was me put in my place.

I actually avoided dessert as I knew it was chocolate cake time later on.

The food was really nice, starter was mainly cauliflower teriyaki and I had sea bream for the main which was fresh and tasty, the kids shared burger and fish and chips.

Mum has bought this addictive banana ice cream which is in the freezer I don’t what to do about this ice cream situation, it’s very irritating indeed, also sis has given us a choc cake mountain, if they were vegan I would’ve posted it to your caravan lol

BR got very worried when I went to the toilets in the restaurant

He started running to the ladies’ to check that I was ok, but luckily bill caught him in time, aww.

Sis and bill seem ok, they were late getting to the restaurant as sis takes about 5 hours to do her makeup 😂

Lorenzo told LA to pour some dirt on another boy’s head, which he did, his parents really scolded him and asked him to apologise to that little boy, but LA was unrepentant and said “maybe” but when BB told him to apologise, he agreed, so BB has one use after all it seems - interesting haha.

We did have to go to an extremely warm garden centre for a long time though as bill and dad were dominating and obsessing,

Never mind day was good overall.

How many stops are you making in France?

Have a good evening Toni tc xx

Ps this isn’t the cake sis made, but it was similar- choc plus strawberries and a bit of other fruit 🍓xx
