  • @frogmorton LOL I changed my glasses twice and I still only see two different bikes, three pictures though… Hahahah, LMAO Don't think they are too special, both like like Japanese sport bikes to me. WOW I'd love to be at Le Mans good for you guys!!! Yes, CapCut it used to be only on phones but they launched a desktop version and it seems to be taking over, crazy what it can do

@dachshund Been in Canada my whole life, my parents are from the UK, mum from Scotland, dad from England. Born in Winnipeg and move to Vancouver at 3, left Vancouver for Toronto at 13, my dad was national sales manager for an big appliance company and their head office was in Toronto.

Sounds like meds are a hassle everywhere, (@toady you seem to be doing well though) I get my biologic delivered and that ones easy to deal with. Canada was a wonderful place for healthcare, but with 1.3 million new people just this year it's put a huge strain on everything. Wait times are way up for MRI's, Ultrasounds, CT scans, results can take weeks and weeks. Healthcare is not in a good place with the current yo-yo at the reigns. (Trudeau Jr. he's about 20 years too young for the job).

Maybe @Skinny Keef is out on a motorcycle adventure? That's where I'll be for 3-4 days next week, going to get footage for some video's in what we call the highlands region of Ontario, Just some really popular roads.

@bosh No compaints about the CAKE!!!!! yummy

Weather update for TORONTO, CRAZY HOT AND SUNNY next week!!!! Mon 32, Tues 32, Wed 33, Thursday 34!!!!

All four days say "feels like" 42 degrees!!!! and sunny!!!!

Do you guys get this "feels like" thing too? Supposed to account for humidity and wind velocity?????

Hope all are well and having the least painful days this weekend xoxoxoo

    Morning!

Well it's really raining here 😕 good thing as we are going home today!

Joan how are you doing? Are you coping ok? You must be missing the carers and their gossip and chat as well as Dear Sue. It's raining here so glad to get home later today. We will be home maybe 7/8pm? Can't wait to hug Sleek! Some diabetic people are naughty and let the medication manage it for them. The well behaved ones like Reshmi's mum watch their diet too. Takes all sorts I suppose🙄 Take care ((())) xxx

Reshmi how are you today? A bit rested after your long nap yesterday I hope. I also had one in the afternoon it wasn't a nice afternoon building up to this although I did manage to cook us a BBQ on the cadac outside before the real rain came.

I hope your Mum is ok well done sneaking a few helpful things in for her I'm sure she appreciates that.

Poor little BR he won't totally understand LA getting all those gifts it's tough when you're little I think. I expect LA is showing off a bit to be fair like my sister used to when it was her turn and I could only watch 😔

Glad he enjoyed his party at least and hope his temp stays down. Bless him throwing a shoe at BIL just goes to show how cross he is feeling 🤭 I also hope it was one of his own and not Mummy's stiletto👠

Still doing my physio although I think it's not done much so far home soon so will check my next appt with GI Joe the 2nd then.

    You take care ((())) xxx

What a day here Toady! It's pouring down which makes me happy to be coming home.

Can't wait to have a cat on my lap again☺️

So I'll have a minute to get outside before it rains at home?🙄

Kari had her neds delivered she started it in during lockdown and has kept it up she wasn't driving then either so like you it was a huge help. I don't mind anyway I like my pharmacist he's been ours since Charley was about 9 months old.

Well done you setting up your phone! A huge pat on the back form me for managing that!

    Take care

    See you at home soon!

    hi Toni

    How are things with you?

Is it still raining a lot?

    Mum is ok 👍

It was actually LA who threw the shoe at his dad’s face!

However later he made a lovely card for is daddy - aww.

I think it was and adulk’s shoe.

I bought a kind of cake for my dad for Father’s Day, that was more or less it as I forgot about it till last moment

He is being very badly behaved though anyway

What time are you setting off for journey back?

Bye for now Toni tc xx

    hi again Toni

Yes I was more rested thanks

I have a friend who uses FB a lot and she puts pics of all the chocolate cakes she eats in restaurants etc online and she eats a lot of cake, in fact I think she eats them every single day! Can you imagine that? Not just chocolate, cream and all sorts of naughty foodstuffs and if she’s that into it, why doesn’t she bake? She must be rather well off I’d say - or she’s in a lot of chocolate and cream - related debt, her poor mother sent her a FB message asking what sort of diet this is, especially since it’s imposed on her husband and little girl, FB message you’ll note - G** forbid they talk on the phone 😂

Ok have a good night Toni tc xx

    hi toady in the pond

How are you and the algae doing today?

any good phone numbers come up?

    I’m thinking 1066 the year of dad’s birth? 😂

I call it the Battle of Wastings lol - as he’s the original miser, “Why aren’t you eating the fat on your meat? I’ll have to eat it, it’d be a shame to waste it” - you get the idea.

It really became horribly hot this afternoon- by my standards anyway.

Balzac bulletin- P Goriot is selling his silver cutlery so his daughter can buy a new dress, so it got me thinking, would bill sell his beloved coffee machine so that he could buy a new set of designer trainers for his wife as one of her shoes could have been damaged in the LA’s shoe - throwing event? Or will he just use the fraudulent nosegay account he’s opened in your name and spray paint the trainers gold?

We’ll never know unless BR decides to publish his autobiography haha

Well have a good night toady and everyone else too of course tc xx

Ps queen cakes from 18th century England originally or from inside bills gastric cavity (present day) 😂xx

Hi all, have been doing useful works today gardening &c so just a quick call - worse weather tomorrow (they say) but maybe some ok bits again after.

I don't think it'll be too awful for you frog, few hotter days then just looks like fairly steady 21 or 22ish that'll do me. Rain just off & on. Not sure where you will be at by now but hopefully home and suitably pinned down by Sleek as per the recent pic and your video 😊. Hope the travelling was ok, shame it rained on you, not a very sporting send-off 😔. Good day today for garden and have crept up a bit more on the brick border etc. Few new seedlings, maybe, will report when they're a bit bigger 🤞. Not much else doing, sleep well and see you soon 😊 xx

Joan funny about the zipwire 😄 I was very disappointed when I tried hanging off a climbing frame when I was younger twenties maybe expecting to at least be able to pull myself up like kids can but I just hung there 😣 no strength 😄. Well I'm not going on the new rollercoaster they keep talking about which got stuck again this week, that's for sure, mind you even that's not as bad as one in the US where people were stuck upside down for half an hour yesterday 😱. Yes have a doughnut, it's only a little treat isn't it and only now & again 👍️ :) xx

Hi bosh, yes I am quite happy with a refurbished soul thank you 😂😂 (oh I loved that idea!) one careful owner etc, just check you aren't buying off a seller who uses the AI for their descriptions you would probably get a dover sole the AI does not know what it's on about. I've seen kid suede shoes described as ideal for kids, it's all nonsense. Interesting that you mention Balzac & the silver cutlery; I was reading today about Samuel Johnson's desk, that they now aren't sure was his 🤔; it was supposedly owned by his goddaughter & her sister who fell on hard times & appealed to literary figures of the day for help etc, also royalty & the PM, but may in fact have been hustling everyone 🤨. Do you think our own RS would take pity if one of us wrote and said we happened to own JA's best ballpoint pen and were living in penury with hardly a rich tea bic to our name 😂. Have a good Monday I am polishing my manners, no shoe throwing, no hogging of toys, check 👍️. That Star Trek pic is exactly what that looks like 😄. 'Night sleep well :) xx

Hello @sandeelilly I was trying to remember what I know of dymchurch, is it some sort of literary link or am I thinking about the railway 😄 must look it up. Have never been anyway but nice neck of the woods 😊. Have a good week hope work goes as well as poss :) xx

Sorry to say I like the ums and ahs in videos, Colin @Arthritic_Adventures, even ones like tutorials for technical stuff how to repair your computer or DIY, that's not helpful of me at all is it 😂. I can see creators like their work to be polished though but apart from anything it's the AI itself I dislike, I'm very wary of it and where it will all lead, have seen some fairly scary-making stuff and we are in the very infant stages. Interesting back story of your origins with English/Scottish parents 😊 these turns of fate are fascinating. Enjoy the biking this week :) xx

Love to everyone and have a good night 😴 xx

I've been on one of those Joan!!!! They are brilliant it was a few years ago now but I loved it. It was only a short one for kids but I laughed and laughed it was such fun😁 I'd love to see a photo of you on it. Sleek was very very happy have her Mummy home bless her slept on the bed with me😊 Looks like I did manage to bring some sunshine home with me. Take care ((())) xxx

Morning Sandeelily I was close to you then yesterday on my way home if you were in Dymchurch. We came home via the tunnel at Folkestone . Hope you're doing ok ((()))

Morning Colin I missed your post yesterday most sorry😳 capcut I shall tell my sister.

Yes we do get that 'feels like' weather but usually it's 12 degrees feels like -2!!!🤭 To be fair right now it's pretty good (I am back in the UK) it got up to about 20 here although it will get hotter as summer progresses.

I also hope Skinny Keef is out on his bike in his new leathers having fun.

Got back here about 7pm had to quickly nip out in my Figaro as it was 'Drive your Figaro Weekend'.

If you go AWOL we'll know you are up in the mountains on your bike having fun and filming.☺️

    Morning Reshmi

Hope you and your Mum are both well and your Dad had a good father's day. To be fair he's lucky to get anything if he's been naughty lately so well done with his cake.

That star trek pic is me every time I go to any supermarket!! Unless I am in the Fig then I can usually spot her.

Isn't it mad the number of people communicating with each other on facebook not in 'real-life'? Ok I accept not everyone lives really close by to each other, but surely they can use a phone. It's wanting everything 'public' I don't get🙄 Not sure that lady isn't setting herself (and her daughter) up for type 2 diabetes. She probably can't bake you know.

So it was LA who threw the adulk shoe at BIL. Hopefully his father's day card made up for it.

Take care and I hope your day is good.

Ps we set off at 6.30am home about 6.30pm I think maybe 7. A few stops on the way for the loo and a move about for me, a rest for Paul from driving.

    ((())) xxx

    Morning Toady

I saw a pic of those poor people stranded upside down on that ride!!!! I would have been screaming and crying, but then again would not have attempted it in the first place!

Weather seems good so far it was 22 'down south' when we got to dear old Blighty - nearer 20 here, but that'll do me.

Well done progressing the brick border and new seedlings.

Sleek told me all about it when I got home. She straight away wanted me to sit down, but after a lengthy cuddle and purr I had to nip out in Penelope as it was drive your 'Figaro weekend'. Was in bed by 8.30pm as still on French time and I had to drive Paul to the station at 5.10am😫

The best thing was she slept on the bed with me checking in on me every time I turned (trying to get this darn arm comfortable - joke eh?!!) and chirruping. I love her so much. She'll be over to see you later as I have to go to help at the craft group🙄

Hope I can get outside today. Already on 3rd load of washing! All plants have survived my absence I should ahve said.

    Take care Toad

Love to anyone who I missed

    How are you today?

Mum and I are ok 👍

    Sticky humid weather already though

    At least there’s breeze outside

Yes everything is public with some young people- even dates of birth - I may even throw a shoe at them - but the sharper the heel the less chance I’ll sleep at night lol

    hi toady

    How are you today?

Mum and I are ok 👍

Stinking nasty weather though - in my opinion that is of course

How is Manners Monday going for you?

I haven’t said anything too unladylike

But I haven’t been “sorely tested” yet

Dad has hogged not the toys but the whole of the downstairs for his online gym class, so mum and I are in the upstairs furnace currently

On the Balzac front P Goriot said that he would try and start a business selling processed wheat products- I’m calling them blearios haha

I found some information online Edwardian female etiquette

I’ve only modified it very slightly.

    Edwardian manners
    Silk gloves for exercise
White kid leather nosegay gloves for porridge consumption
Don’t go out after dark without a male escort - yes this was written especially with you in mind toady 😱
Don’t wear garden party hats when you are building defensive walls
Chewing gum isn’t ladylike- unless you’re called mima and chocolate and ice cream are all around you
Don’t use slang, leave that to the uncouth and in all likelihood the males -don’t blame me, I definitely didn’t write this bit lol

Have a polite Monday toady and tc xx

Ps nice understated chapeau for you xx

    hi Joan

    How are you today?

I wouldn’t worry too much about the doughnuts unless you’re diabetic or something like that.

Its nice to treat yourself sometimes, especially during difficult times.

I agree about Facebook, it’s ok to pass the time, but it’s potentially dangerous and the people on there aren’t always wholesome and decent unlike on here.

I would like to speak to at least one or two people on here on the phone one day but I realise of course that people are potentially busy and I don’t want to invade anyone’s privacy either, anyway have a good evening Joan and take care xx

    hi again Toni

I hope your return journey goes ok.
Yes the chronicling of everything on FB gets a bit much doesn’t it?

Also the professional FB advice - givers are very irritating indeed and so many people blindly listen to that advice too,

I’m just trying not to get a neck ache but I feel that there’s one just around the corner, with the summer fan situation,

You’re right about dad, I wouldn’t even have bothered with cake but I didn’t want to risk upsetting mum

Good idea taking movement breaks 👍

My sisters in laws are coming soon -Bill’s aunt and one of her granddaughters- who is 10 years old - LA won’t like that he’ll be locking his toys in the biccie cupboard whereas poor BR will share all his stuff with her until he’s homeless and appear at your door asking for delicious cabbage and pasta.

I’m a bit tired at the moment so I’ll leave it there

Bye for now Toni tc xx

Hi all 👋 not the best night hence the 3am tea, but the day was ok, was meant to rain so I assumed it wouldn't, ha! can't fool me any more 👍️.

Just come back from Pidl frog, with a nice looking salvia nemorosa (the only one), and joy of joys someone along a side road here has lots of plants out for sale 😊 a mini garden centre on my doorstep, I shall go to the ball! Didn't have cash on me so will be down there tomorrow with my coins clutched in my hot little hand. Excuse me pitching straight in about myself, very glad you are back home safely with dear Sleek 😺 even if you did have to be 'frogmarched' back out for Fig weekend, oh well you have to do what you have to do. Lovely to 'see' her myself too, she told me all the news, with a peppering of la francaise here & there. Glad all's well in garden too no lost plants that's a triumph of caretaking 😊. Nothing exciting going on here, I saw a boy riding a unicycle on my walk, that's about it 😄. Back tomorrow with reports on my purchases if any :) xx

Hello joan, I don't like the phone at all really, I wouldn't have one at all if I had any choice. Some people that used to write nice letters have slightly armtwisted me onto phone calls over the years, not outrightly, just saying they prefer it and it makes you feel you can't ask them to write instead as it's more effort for them. But there's nothing like sitting down with a letter you can read it when it suits and refer to it again etc. I write rather good letters if I say so myself 😂. And I wouldn't touch FB with a bargepole. At least custard tarts usually come in twos even if doughnuts come in fours. I had some nice cinnamon buns from Ice* they were only 2 but a bit expensive. Hope tomorrow will be nice it's supposed to be a bit overcast but that's better for gardening. Have a good day :) xx

Hi bosh, love the basket hat 😂 isn't that great. You could swiftly repurpose it if you went to al fresco without your bag for life. Manners Monday went well I spent some of it turning out cupboards, I thought I couldn't get into too much trouble there. I might have rolled my eyes at myself now & again for hoarding too much stuff, that probably doesn't count as an infraction does it. Shoes, there's another one, I had a pair I loved from years ago put away in a box for nostalgia, the surface has gone crackly like the glaze on pottery 😔 so sad. Gold spray paint do you think? 😄 you didn't get due credit for the bill's coffee machine balzac analogy, I was too busy going off on my own tack there, yes that is indeed a question, would he part with it? Sounds like one of those moral dilemmas they give you, like would you run 10 people over with your lawnmower to save one 😉. Let's hope it doesn't come to the test! 😱. Good luck with the relatives when it happens 😬. I will bear all the invaluable etiquette lessons in mind thank you, I may be working on my fortifications tomorrow, glad to know what the do's & don't's are 👍️. Have a good night maybe not quite so hot tomorrow not as cool as you'd like but hopefully okish. Best to all :) xx

Ah yes the railway @sandeelilly lovely, have looked it up now, long may they keep it going and not muck about with things too much. Glad you were having an ok day at work hope it continued 🤞 are you technically, ie were you always, a lark or an owl? Weather nice if it suits, definitely what we need for tomatoes 😊. It is, apparently, National Eat Your Vegetables Day 🥦 :) have a good night xx

Hope all's going well 'on the road' @Arthritic_Adventures, latte and a bagel please 👍️ take care enjoy your travels :) xx

    Love to all 😘 xx

Morning Joan. Hope you are doing ok today. Aww you friend! so kind getting a scratching box for her poorly pusskin. Sleek's front paw and neck or possibly only actually her neck she certainly winced when the vet check her neck. She did a fabulous jump yesterday from the floor straight up to the back of the settee behind Paul -so maybe the injections are working! Nope no scary rides for me either ever.😣 Have a good day ((())) xxx

Morning Sandeelily I hope all is well with you and everyone in your family. How are the driving lessons going? It will be fabulous to be able to get out on your own not asking for lifts. Adds to your independence hugely. ((())) How are Den's spuds? Have a good day.

    Morning Colin

Ok we won't see you for a few days hope the trip is a safe and fun one. I was actually looking for a coffee in France in one of those cups - a Starbucks to be specific and found one twice the second being at the eurotunnel on the way home😏. I love their real coffee in tiny cups sans du lait, but a decaf soya latte is really my thing.

    Take care ((()))

    Morning Reshmi

Hope you and your Mum are doing ok today and grumpy BB is behaving himself quite well too.

Interesting hat pics yesterday😁 I have several laundry baskets now full of dried washing ready for sorting and some ironing, but i do have an episode of Gardener's world i can watch while doing that chore😉 As yet I have nt worn the baskets, but when they are empty I shall have a look and see….

Not Sleek, but cats like them too😊

You can have one of Sleek's injections for her bones it might help your neck - it's a biologic so should work!! Seriously I do the same with mine carefully monitor it and rest before it gets really bad.

Oh dear your poor sister having more in-laws coming. Nope a 10 year old girl. She will probably hate it too and think she is far older than LA. She might like little BR though he will be less threatened by a 'big girl' and as you said share better. He is always very welcome here for some Hungarian cabbage pasta❤️

Will you all meet up with them? Will the visit be lengthy?

I know the public sharing on fbook and people's unsolicited advice the marketing etc. I just do the minimum enough not to offend anyone.

Take care have a good day ((())) xxx

Moring Toady hope all is well with you.

I am so covetous! You have plants for sale practically on your doorstep and they must be locally grown too so should do really well! A Salvia nemosa at Pidl! Well spotted it will grow and am i right you can do a 'Carol Klein' and take cuttings too☺️

Sleek had me up at 4 to go out for a wee then we went back to bed I read and stroked her little head it was just the loveliest start to my day😊 She's on her way now to do the same to you, but hopefully the hour is slightly more civilised. She also comes bearing vegan chocolate.

Her French is rather good isn't it? She is doing an online course it's a free one apparently.

Someone on a unicycle? Wow! Oh dear Sleek has to upstage you one of her friends:

My garden is fine great Kari did well I just need to get some mowing done at the front and side.

    Take care😻

Sorry if i missed anyone but hello 👋

@bosh Oh I would be very good for Mr darcy lol, How are you this morning?

@toady I agree the railway is beautiful, such a nice way to lose a couple of hours.

Well, I am on day three of feeling better! if that is the right word, Not as exhausted as usual, and pain is bearable but for how long? That's what you never know with this. I'm not sure if it's the MTX injections kicking in or the fact they stopped my depressants but I am not complaining I'm going to enjoy it while I can.

I don't know about you all but I am sick!!! of the election, doesn't help I work for a newspaper but it the same promises that let's be honest they will forget when they get in! I know no politics sorry

I know what music we all like.

I am a long-time Genesis and Phil Collins lover lol and George Michael ( hence the cat name!) Freddie oo I miss :( him! I am a huge The Script fan but I would be! I used to sing when I was younger and could stand! so I like most music one of my daughters works for Sony and some of the stories about these new artists are ridiculous and do not get me going on today's music Ok thats it Im off or the box will come out.

All have a great day speak later
