Glad you've had some good weather Toady. We had it for a few days so guess it was time to hand it over to you. My potting bench is the barbecue top. Haven't used it in years for what it was meant for. Have thought about sowing seeds but not done it yet.
Hi Joan. Hope you've had a good weekend.
Rosie, the sun shone this morning here but it has been very windy and a little chilly. I had heard that some had double figures temperature but 19? Wow. How lovely of the Asd* man to fix your gates.
Hi Mig. Glad you had a good time. The ironing will wait. Did you get pictures of the surfers?
Numpty, what's our Mig like, eh?
Ha ha ha Barbara. That did make me giggle. I always pictured you with dark hair. Did you have tea and cake today at the garden centre? I haven't been to one in a while. Think I need a trip out.
Haven't been out today. Just enjoyed chilling in the house. Wrote a bit more of my memoirs (or is it only that when it's someone famous?). Watching Live from Space just now from the international space station. Wow, it's fascinating.Christine0 -
Morning all
Christine...so you liked my pic..I will never hear the end of this for hubby..best of it is I was talking about botox the other day... but I have enough pain...
Glad you could chill out nothing nice specially when you have been at work all week..its a lovely idea writing your memoirs...I wish my parents had I just have snippets of my dads side and and gaps in my mums side.
Still not seem Marianne around... I know Karen is having a bad time and Coco but just to let you know we miss you
Catie..I am thinking about you and that awful infection..just hope things are much improved for you
The sun is shinning but cold...hubby is working this morning..at a gym nearby...oh how I miss my gym...one of the saddest moments when I had to stop going
On a light note...the neighbours that borrow everything even ladders...asked hubby to borrow the mower..they didn't know we had a new one..so he said sorry but the other one didn't last long so not loaning this one out..so I have had to warn my others neighbours that are so lovely just in case they ask them
Right there are waffles on the grill dont like them myself but thought you might ...xxxxxLove

Sorry no pictures of surfers mind was else where. Mig0

Well now daughter is temporarily better and Son has got his super eczema cream working a treat there is only my other boy to fix with his acute hearing issues. The sun came out and it was torture. We had to close all the windows because of music and lawnmowers and I had to sit with him incase he kicked off. I need to move to a quiet place asap as I cannot stand another Summer of upset. Trouble is 2 are settled at school for another school year at least(middle child gets transport so have a wider area to choose from). Just got to persuade the OH.
Barbara you are looking lovely in the pic .
Lucky those of you who got out in the garden. I was planning to have a sit in the sunshine, get my dose of vit c, but its gone away.
Hope your weekend was good Joan and you were able to get out in the Sunshine.
Best wishes to one and all,

Hello everyone,
I've just popped in for a quick visit and let you all know I've not forgotten you. I feel so exhausted right now and I don't know why. No flares, no pains, sleeping reasonably well and had a nap too this morning. So can't stay, I'm off back to bed again.
Loved the photo Barbara, that did make me smile.
Yawn - ta ta everyone, hope you are all feeling reasonably well.

Busy today hello Rosie, dachshund, mig, numpty & applerose from yesterday, & barbara, tkachev..
Nice pic barbara you have not been cleansing toning & moisturising have you, tut, what would the glossy mags say about that skin tone. Glad it was good at the garden centre, it does sound lovely wish there was something similar, though I would probably have too much choice of plants &c not to mention the prices.. £20 for a foot high planter in a certain mag that came through the door, that would soon add up. yes I am busy in my own small toady way, trying to do a few bits this weather like we do.. had a reasonably productive day yesterday & tackled the main bedroom (boxroom) & made a bit of progress.
Hope you get some sun Rosie, yes buying any sort of parasol is just tempting fate - nice to see you, hope you found some cake
Glad you had a good trip mig, I would be too busy envying the surfers to take a 'professional' interest, but yours is the better attitude lol. Good that you had some sun, you picked your dates well. Hope you are recouping your stamina.
Interesting you are writing your memoirs applerose, are you going back to family history too.. I don't think I could get my teeth into writing anything up, but with no family to pass things on it's quite nice to feel no responsibility to do so.
tkachev I do feel for you with your son to worry about but the others' schools to consider too.. I am quite intolerant to noise which is nothing like what it must be for your son's distress but it gives me a tiny tiny insight into how hard it must be for him, unwanted noise is awful when you have no control over it. Is there a real practical chance of moving.. how tricky for you, wanting to do what is best all round. Horrible to have to dread the summer too.
Tired today as it's the day after my mtx & I'm sure I get tireder after it the more time goes on.. but will go and see what I can do.. I wouldn't mind a waffle with my tea, in fact perhaps a nice strong coffee would be the ticket.. coffeepot on for Toni if she is passing, hope Lucy is rallying from the infection..
Hi Kath too, blah to tiredness, eh take a coffee with you.. hope it helps xx0 -
Afternoon all
Yes the pic is a bit brash Im not like that honest,
Mig what are you like...
Elizabeth...blimey you have so much going on...hope you can get some treatment for your sons hearing...it must be awful if they are so sensitive...I'm glad the cream is working..think you must have our sun from last week
Toady we only bought 3 primulas...that was bad enough we usually buy plants from the market...you did well with the bedroom...but I think today should be more rest...I think I have heard a few on here feeling tired after the mtx..hope it lifts for you later...
Kath another one that is tired...its the pain that seems to wear people down I keep fighting against having a nap in the afternoon but lately I am losing... you enjoy
I have chicken casserole in my slow cooker will be ready about 5..so knives and forks at the ready...hee I could do with an holiday ...see you all later xxxxxxLove
Barbara0 -
Now it's gone quiet.. hope someone will be in as I have buttered a plate of scones & jam..
I have been quite good barbara; tend to find the tiredness only shifts gradually as the days go on but it varies, last week was worse was half-asleep. Now I've got to decide whether to keep or cancel the appointment they made me when I felt more flarey.. as I've got a nurse appointment not too long ahead that I feel would be soon enough, & I don't really want to keep this one now. They may prefer to have it back & give it to someone else, suppose I may to have to ring & ask 'em. Perhaps posting here as well will help me decide.
Hope your casserole was good
hello to any latecomers & readers, xx0 -
Barbara, I keep thinking I'll go out running again but then am in pain walking so think no, it's not going to happen. It's no wonder the lawnmower didn't last long if your neighbours were using it too. This one will probably last twice as long. Chicken casserole sounds good.
Are you sure you don't have pictures, Mig? Are you keeping them to yourself.
Sounds as if things are looking up Elizabeth. Hope you get your son's hearing sorted out now. The sun does bring everyone out and they all seem to make noise. That must be so difficult for you.
Hi Kath. It's awful feeling so tired. Hope you managed a nap or at least some rest.
Toady, I started my family tree some years ago and have added a few bits since then. I've often thought about writing a book and had borrowed a book from my mum about life in Glasgow where we are from so I decided to write my memories for now and maybe turn it in to a book. It's taking forever so don't know how far I'll get. I'm really interested in how my ancestors lived so maybe some of my descendants might be interested in how I lived. Hope you feel less tired tomorrow. I'll have one of your scones please and I'll sit by the fire with a cuppa.
My boss made me a cup of tea today and put it in a cup with NUMPTY written on it. Hope he didn't mean it.Christine0 -
I did take a couple of photos but not of the surfers, going out shopping will try and post them later. Mig0

Hello everyone
Lovely to see you all. Barbara the photo of you was soo funny!!!
and Toady that coffee so very welcome.
Lucy's throat seems much better but the antibiotics have upset her stomach. We are in isolation while they test a 'sample' (nice) which is miserable.
Hope we get home soon and I can post properly
love to you all
Toni xxx0 -
Morning all

Hello applerose, barbara.. and toni.. barbara always makes you your special coffee I know so I'm not on coffee duty usually, only as it was so quiet.. glad to read you are on your way home will check other thread for updates..
Barbara hope you've had a good day, bit windy and not too warm here so I stayed in & put together a kitchen unit which was fun (bought in a burst of optimism a while back but will probably not get round to redoing the kitchen except cosmetically, so the basic units will be going in the garage for storage. Did that instead of washing my hair for going out for bloods thurs though, so now I will have to do that tomorrow.. would rather play cupboards any day. Hope you slept ok too by your usual standards..
Look forward to your pictures mig..
Applerose your writing sounds v interesting and definitely worth doing, if no-one committed this sort of thing to record we would be much worse off.. it's personal accounts that are so much more fascinating aren't they, than the broad-brush history.. anything you can get done will be nice to have down on paper, I'm sure. Here are a couple of better mugs for you.. http://img1.etsystatic.com/040/0/5500740/il_340x270.507317543_tdx0.jpg http://hopingfor.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/gifts-for-writers-300x241.jpg but I can't actually recommend you do either! (are you typing/pc or writing longhand?)
Hope Kath is ok and everyone else too.. still a few absentees.. love to all xx0 -
Mig, hope you enjoyed your shopping and it wasn't boring food shopping.
Hi Toni. Hope Lucy feels better quickly so you can get back home.
Barbara, he has made me a cuppa a few times over the years. Once, he was making drinks for some family who were visiting and didn't ask me. His wife said wasn't he making me one and he said no, he didn't like me. I think he was joking. :? Yes, I think that too. I'm getting a fair amount of exercise anyway.
Toady, you have been busy. Putting together a kitchen unit? Don't think I could do that. Thank you for the mugs. Can't do the first one as my eyes close soon after 10 but I could try the second one. I'm typing on the pc. My fingers can only write about 2 short sentences before they get painful and sometimes lock. It's easier to change things too as I'm quickly typing a few words while I think of things then going back and writing it properly.
I decided to go in to the biggest local town to try and find shoes for my niece's wedding. The bus times and routes have changed so instead of it taking me 15 minutes, it was 40. I got off the bus when we got there and wished I hadn't bothered. Didn't feel like shopping at all. Tried Cl*rks. Nothing there and very expensive I thought for a pair of shoes I'll only ever wear for a few hours. I did find something in M&S that might do if I put insoles in. They are flat and I think close to the colour of my dress. Must remember to actually take my dress next time I go.Christine0 -
Morning all at the least we have the sun this morning after an awful day yesterday..
Toady I used to love putting the MF* cupboards together OH hated it..but no chance now and anyway I don't seem to have the patence anymore,,good luck with yours and a good idea putting them in the garage that is were some of our old ones went...I love the cups things like that cheer me up and colored socks ..I know I'm strange,,I have bought a few pairs of silly designs...
Christine its a nightmare when they change the buses I am dreading going back into the wide world on my own...on the buses I mean I used them 3 times a week before these hips..now its taxis or hubby for the min..good that you have found some shoes I hope they do the job then come in for later...
I am having trouble with Talkta**..I have 4 charges on my bill for 4.50 each..for games that I don't have..apparently when you go on the net there are hundreds on there having the same charges..rang them and they said you must have signed up ..NO so they said it will be a popup that I have pressed soI said to sign up for anything you have to be over 18 so you tick the box and tick you understand the ins and outs...they gave me a num for the the firm to text STOP but others are saying it doesn't work ..so we shall see I think TT should block these..
See you later hope you have a goodish day...xxxxxLove

Hello Barbara and anyone else who's in.
I hope you are all having a good day to day. i'm of this afternoon to a neighbour's funeral.
take care all.
joan xxtake care
joan xx0 -
A vital teabreak for me between hairwashing & drying.. nice sit down and a well-known two-fingered choc bic. Plenty to go round bought a pack of 21.
Sorry you have a funeral to go to dachshund was your neighbour a long term one & lived there as long as you have.. hope it goes as well as possible. It is a fine day here it helps a little.
Hello everyone else, barbara glad you have some sun too. Looks a bit doubtful tomorrow though. Sorry you're having trouble with your mobile co, I'm not with them but the customer service doesn't sound any too helpful.. hope it gets sorted. Forgot to say I'm glad you nerved yourselves to tell your neighbours the lawnmower borrowing is off, you must be relieved.
The cupboard assembly was easy because it was only the bare bones, so only a few fixings, no drilling or anything. Don't have a drill at the moment anyway. I would probably not fare too well with the fiddly bits like putting on the doors, hinges, legs etc but for what I want it for, I'm not bothering. I only like the bits where they've pre-drilled holes & it's easy fittings.
Applerose I love using the comp for letter-writing etc, even if I wanted to handwrite now I'd hate to go back to not being able to change things & edit, plus having a copy is really handy to see what you last wrote. Re your shoes, if you wanted to risk mail ordering them I don't know if you know you can return things free by post.. I didn't until recently.. don't know if they've started or I just never knew. Just thought I'd mention it. Sorry your bus trip was so long, 40 mins would do me no good at all. Horrid to feel too tired to shop when you get there.. with all those shops just sitting there.. so galling.
Going to tackle the hairdryer.. drag feet, grumble, gripe.. back at some point I expect.. xx0 -
Evening..quiet in here maybe its the prices...
Joan I am sorry to hear about your neighbour..hope its has all gone well...
Toady..now how did that hair go..bet you look like a different person... I hate washing my hair and leave it has long as poss...the bending over the bath and holding the dryer...a few people on here know I have a couple of wigs..now don't laugh they are good ones and people think its my own hair and I have been to the hairdressers...unless they are being kind...
Not been out today just pottered in the garden bit it went very cold..I am going to make a cuppa and sit by the fire...xxLove
Barbara0 -
Barbara, I've heard a lot of people say that about their phone providers. It's terrible you should be charged. Surely the phone company should provide more help with these things. I find it easier to do my hair over the kitchen sink. If I lean over the bath, I need to keep hold of the shower head and do everything with one hand or the water sprays everywhere or I need to stand up to switch it off then on again to rinse.
I'm sorry you are having to go to your neighbour's funeral Joan. Hope you cope ok.
Glad you've got your cupboards together Toady. Well done. Thanks for the info about returning the shoes for free. Might just order them if I can't be bothered going back to the shop. I don't bother using the hairdryer unless I'm going out. Even if I do have bits sticking up here and there.
My boss asked me today how I was managing with the extra hours. I mentioned that I had spoken to the 17 year old and he'd said he had no problem with me doing whatever I needed to in his bedroom. My boss said I wasn't to worry about the 18 year old. His room needs doing now and again and that's all there is to it. He also said the 18 year old had sat in his room at his desk for the first time in months. My boss asked him if he didn't think it was much better. He apparently just groaned and said there was something he couldn't find though.
Just booked my flights to go to Dublin and help my daughter look after the GC next week as her husband is away on business. Looking forward to it.Christine0 -
Hi again, just having some late supper I do look a different person barbara, a clean one but with mad hair.. the usual effect after washing, my hair is a bit  when it's washed & only settles after a while by which time it needs doing again. I have to lean over the sink I don't think I could bend over the bath.. and dry it because it's not that short otherwise I wouldn't mind the odd sticky-up bit applerose, lol. It's far and away the most tiring thing I find of day-to-day stuff.. sometime a wig seems a rather sensible option actually, and if I lost a significant amount more with the drugs &c I would certainly consider it.. why not..
That sounds about right for your grumpy boss's son's response applerose. Mind you your boss does sound a bit of an odd one himself.. with the tea comments etc.. does he fancy himself as rather a 'card' or something.. expect you could think of a better term..
Have had an enbrel today & off for bloods tomorrow, so 2 needles in 2 days for me. Have to bolt back from the drs to see the gardening man so no hanging about in the shops will have to make do with coming back & amusing myself messing about in the garage, my cupboard is in place so I'm happily re-organising things. Hope everyone has a good Thurs, it's the first day of Spring.. nice g**gle d**dle to go with it.
'night, toady. x0 -
Morning..
Christine sorry I keep missing you I must try and stay up till 10nish its odd how teenager grunt..but my GC are the same..I have to ask them what they are saying yes or no.. so I just ignore them till they talk properly if you know what I mean :? you must have done a good job if he can sit at his desk for the first time in awhile.. good luck with the flights...how nice for your daughter to have you around bet you both get some girlie time..
Toady good luck with the bloods...hope all is ok has can be...you make me laugh with your hair...every day is a bad hair day for me unless my GD does something with it.. hope your gardener does a good job send him round here will you ...enjoy your cupboard...
Today so far hubby is off work...so we will be off somewhere...does anyone have dreams constantly in the night they are not all bad ..but its one after the other..and I get up shattered...
Will make a cuppa...see you later xxxxxLove

Afternoon all. Cloudy here and we're supposed to get some rain, which pleases OH as he put some fish bone and blood around the shrubs and the rain will help it soak down into the ground.
I have some very frustrating news, and something I heard on the radio made me sit up and listen. My oncologist has referred me to the dermatology department. I was told if I don't hear anything by 2 weeks, let them know. Two weeks were up yesterday and guess what!! Still no appointment. But I got an appointment through with the lymphoedema nurse - WHAT!! Rang the number to query it and they told me my oncologist had referred me!! Talked to her secretary and she can't find any reference of a lymphoedema appointment (I don't have Lymphoedema!). Told her I'd not got the dermatology appointment yet so she will let oncologist know. Now I've cancelled the lympho appointment (which I don't need) and I'm still waiting for the dermo appointment - which I do!!!! Well I think I do. On our local radio station this morning I was listening to a lady with PBC (Primary Billiary Cirrhosis) which is an auto immune disease. She reeled off her symptoms, especially the itching, and she was describing exactly what I get. So now I have to investigate that and see whether that is the answer. Anything to get a diagnosis and stop this itching!!!
Sorry to ramble, and I haven't even mentioned any of you or your comments. Sorry, Sending hugs to all.
