Maybe your clothes will helpfully crawl into the washing machine for you now they have made it that far.
I love your bucket-for-stray-newts barbara, nice to hear people doing kind things it all adds to the greater good, pity more don't think that way.
Sleep well, 'night all, toady. xx0 -

Hello everyone,
Just popping in quickly then off out for lunch with a friend, to a lovely farm cafe/restaurant. All home grown, home made stuff. Cakes and puddings are incredible, and I have got to try and resist! There are lots of animals there, and woodland walks, and only fifteen minutes from home.
Had a fall yesterday, which has left me with a huge bruise on my shin, beautifully coloured this morning. I opened my front door to get the post. Instead of stepping down into the porch - quite a deep step - I tried to reach it from where I was, over stretched, and lost my balance. I was lucky I didn't go through the glass. Won't be doing that again.
Just had the latest pic of my elder granddaughter, and guess what? She looks just like me!
I've been shaking the Amaz*n parcel and I think - I hope - it's my favourite perfume. I did "accidentally" leave the empty bottle on display recently, when the lads were last home.
Will have a quick coffee, and finish putting my slap on.
Much love to all........Rosie.x.0 -
Applerose I am also struggling at the moment. I think I slept most of the past week, apart from 3 trips to the local GP surgery for various appointmets. I have struggled to do the smallest task but luckily OH is around to help with the basics.
Son's GP appointment didn't solve anything as GP contacted local Child Development Centre and they had no advice so she is at a loss although happy to support me for respite requests etc. Had my Sons school report that sort of suggested he was picking and choosing when to be upset.I have written my reply :x He has been very aggressive at home when a car drives by playing boom boom music and it takes 45 mins at least to calm him down. So I'll go on the autistic website next and ask AGAIN for advice.
Kath I love your Fatsia japonica. I really must plant one as they are lovely.
That was a very nasty fall Rosie. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy your walk without too much pain.
Barbara how do you manage to post from your phone! I'm nowhere near that savvy despite trying.
The laurel was covered in ivy and this weighed it down and caused it to collapse thus revealing the nest to all predators. I'll see if they are still alive later. I might take a chair out and sleep in the sunshine if Son will allow it. I'm slightly muggy but awake.
hope the humira arrived Mig.
We failed to get a booking for a Mothering- sunday -meal -out but are chancing it at a non-booking restaurant so up early and with one hours less sleep as the clocks move forwards tonight.
Hope Bubbles is okay. Not see her posting for a while,

I'm another one who likes charity shops. I love looking round but some of them have put their prices up to nearly the same prices as the shops the goods originally came from. Then they need to have a half price sale evey now and again. There is one in another town who don't charge much at all and they are always packed out. I'm sure they make more money than the others.
Not surprised you're fed up Kath. You shouldn't need to be kicking them to get what you want from them. I know what you mean about you should be happy with the results but how can you be when you don't know what is wrong. Love your houses. I was thinking of trying to make a bee one this year. I found a single leaf of a fatsia lying on a footpath last summer. I brought it home and pushed it in to some soil and it's growing nicely now.
Barbara, you can find some great bargains in the pound shops. An email I get sometimes mentions make-up and other things which are normally quite expensive being sold there. You were right last night. I was snoring by the time you posted. Didn't think it was that loud. Hope I didn't wake anyone up. Great idea about using the bucket for the newts. I felt very strange yesterday. I do miss my daughter and my GC and it made me realise how much more I'll miss them when they finally move to the other side of the world.
Not to worry Toady. I didn't go to dad's today so have been thinking it's Sunday all day today. I don't know what went on in the kitchen with the washing. It didn't get itself in to the machine and when I put it in, the machine wouldn't do anything. I thought I was going to have to call someone out so I gave it a rub down then decided to try it once more and it came on. Phew!
Rosie hope you had a lovely day at the farm restaurant. The food is always yummy at them. It sounds really good with the animals and walks. You poor thing, falling like that. Guess we all try to push ourselves a little too far at times. Hope you are ok and the bruise goes quickly. How lovely that your D looks like you. Fingers crossed you get your perfume.
Elizabeth, it's terrible that you don't get more help than you do and you shouldn't need to be chasing after the help. It's no wonder you are struggling and tired. I hope they listen to you next week.
Hope you all have a lovely Mother's Day tomorrow and don't have to get up an hour earlier with the clock change.Christine0 -
Just a late post.. even later with the clocks :? .. mind you my main living room clock has said quarter past 9 for weeks so I shan't notice much difference.
Rosie your lunch out sounded lovely what animals are there, wonder what you saw.. ow a nasty bruise, I've got a belter from knocking into a radiator-clothes airer thing I have, it has very hard poky ends.. I've done it more than once even though I know it's there & should know to avoid it.. but at least it's not the nasty jolt you get from a nearly-fall. Bet it will be even prettier colours tomorrow. Hope your parcel is a nice (nearly) surprise.
TK the school report comments sounded horrid, no wonder you are cross with them you expect supportive responses from people in such positions, not veiled criticisms. Sorry your boy has been troubled by extra 'summery' background noises and that the Child Development Centre was only helpful up to a point. Hope something comes of your contacting the website for advice. Any sign of the baby birds.. don't suppose they were very old at the time of the laurel came down. Hope you get a bit of a lift in the tiredness, it's very frustrating isn't it. I do read the forum on my phone but haven't posted, not only that I've just managed to wipe my bookmarks somehow, that's how good I am.
Hope you found something nice in the tin barbara. Expect your garden is looking tidy but I know how you must want to get out there too. It was a bit windy here so not so nice as I expected. haven't done much today just a bit more tidying in the garage, going through jars of screws & nails etc. There is stuff that was my Dad's that I don't even know what they are.. various knobbly metal bits in tins.. could be from the car, or old appliances, anything really.
Glad you got your washing machine going applerose, something was obviously going on there behind your back.. I am saving your travels post to read with my sunday elevenses (maybe I will manage to get the day and the time right tomorrow!) Hope your Dad will be ok when you next see him, will that be next Saturday now.. you are bound to feel a little stirred up emotionally from seeing the family this week, anyone would do in the circumstances..
Joan thank you for your thoughts as always, take care too
Better go to bed hadn't I.. night all xx0 -
Well HELLO my café friends
I hope everyone has a lovely day. Elizabeth I hope you get a table.
We can't go out as Lucy is neutropenic, lymhpopenic and Anaemic (added tha last one because it rhymes
I looked back a bit today and spotted Kath's 'houses'
Frog house - well-used
ladybirds....not so well-used :?
Another gorgeous day here I hope so will everyone else too.
Elizabeth I do hope the site can help you as GP and school really don't seem to be. In theory Health should be able to help education and Social services to provide respite, but in practise all of them try to avoid it as they have to contribute financially. You may need to involve someone like your MP I think???
I hope Rosie you are ok after your fall :? I bet your Granddaughter looks a lot like you
Barbara - I have popped some shortbread biccies in the tin - it was empty - definitely NOT me Your phone did have good hospital reception didn't it? Mine does too
Joan - I also hope you can get out this weekend on your scooter. I hope you are both ok.
Toady the tin was empty so I have filled it up It was a bit windy here too, but I 'went through' my seeds yesterday and sorted out bits ready to plant them today Bless your Dad saving odd bits - my Dad used to too. I have kept a fair few of his tools for myself.
Christine I didn't get up an hour earlier.....I think I got up my usual weekday time though as of today ::) Clocks all changed - a few seem to change themselves these days don't they?
love to you all and anyone I accidentally missed
Toni xxx0 -
Happy Mother's Day .
Going to garden centre with middle son ,on the way there will pass the crem so leaving flowers for mum and mil.
Have a good day all. X Mig0 -
Honestly were has the time gone feels like someone messed with the clocks..
Been busy in here..will read back in between typing...
Happy Mothers day to them that are mothers..Mig I will be going to the cematary today..trouble is its a very old one and the paths are horrendous ..
you have a good day at the garden center..
Christine..yes the charity shops have gone expensive its not nice when the things are given to them a fair price I don't mind ..I like the local hospice ones we have a clothes one and a big furniture one...brilliant..thought I heard you snoring bless hope you feel more awake today..I am thinking how traveling takes it out of me I know you are younger.....sorry I'm rambling here..
Toady..the garden is a bit of a mess..poor hubby does a bit then has a rest...trouble is finding a gardener that will use our mower and such because you cant get round the house due to the extension cracker we were years a go when we built that and I mean us I laid the floors..we had a bricklayer..hubby did the roof,,just thinking of your tin of your dads..I have my mums bits and bobs tin ..she died 32 years ago now and its still here..
Toni how lovely to see you in the cafe...I love the pics...we have an old bird box on the ground and the ladybirds took up residence last year...I love thought of a frog box... my little newts are making use of the bucket till we get to the lodge..I bet your daughters get you something nice...
My eldest son has come round with a card a a lovely plants..the youngest one has taken his OH out for mothers day..so are coming round later..
Right will go and supervise hubby ..see you all later...xxxxxxxLove

Happy Mothering Sunday to all you mums and grandmas out there.
Guess what - among the Mother's Day cards that arrived in the post yesterday, was my DERMATOLOGY APPOINTMENT - only problem is, it isn't for three weeks  I think when I've been, I'm going to frame it as I've waited so long!!
Toni I love your ladybird house and frog house. You can't see ours in the photos I posted.
Barbara, we bought the butterfly house online from a company called Gr**n F***ers.
TK, if you ever get a Fatsia, make sure it had plenty of room - they can grow enormous. I think they do a bit better if they are close to water. Ours must have its roots in the drain it's so close to the house (big mistake planting it there).
Rosie, I hope you enjoy your walk and that the bruised leg doesn't cause too much trouble. Hope you'll bring us a sample of the home made cakes from the farm cafe - yum.
Weather has been so gorgeous this weekend, I got all the washing dry, including all the bedding too. Wish I had the energy to take all the curtains down and wash those, but it's supposed to rain tomorrow so I'll use that as my excuse not to.
Have a good weekend everyone. Hugs

Hello all .. happy mother's day if applicable..
The clocks thing is terrible, if only you could please yourself what alteration you make, back 2 hours would have been more like it. All out of synch here, didn't have breakfast til lunchtime so no real point having mealtimes today, so have just had a banana sandwich and a cup of coffee.
Toni, shortbread would be lovely thanks. Hope you have had a few minutes to sow the seeds you planned. Here are my cerinthe seedlings, lovely looking things.
One or two other possible seedlings coming, my alliums *might* be on their way up too.. no sign of my spring onions, I think me and spring onions are doomed.
My grandad was a carpenter and I have a lot of his tools as well as my dad's things. They are lovely to use. I like your frog house too, does Daisycat bother them.. can't remember if you've said, I know she can be rather a little hunter.. Hope she is well
Hello mig hope you are having a nice time at the garden centre.. will there be no cooking for you today..
Barbara your extension sounds interesting.. I would be pleased if I had worked on something that impressive.. what did you build it to take, is it now a whole room like the kitchen or was it to make a room larger. Hope your family can all visit as planned at various times, see you later for a cup of tea & to hear what they brought you
Kath, an appointment, hallelujah! 3 weeks, still, wheels are in motion. I got some washing dry on the line too, your curtains will keep I expect. I have stupid windows that are no standard curtain size  they are the originals but I don't know why they were never 'right' it makes buying new ones a right pain.
Going to try & get a job or two done before time beats me, xx to all not mentioned, toady.0 -
Evening all
Kath I would ring them and ask if they have an earlier appointment...mind you saying this my rheumy is on the 1st of May...got it around 3 weeks ago, at first on the choose and book they had no appointments...thankyou for the info I will go and look at the butterfly houses its the first I have seen
Toady the extension was a garage..but we never put aback door in there to get through... I love the seedlings how good to see them growing...and having your GDs carpentry tools...how good would it bee to put the clocks at whatever suited...
I keep looking at the new mower and would love to have a go..
I forgot about the shortbread..... right I feel a cuppa coming on...xxxxxLove

Dragged everyone out of bed for a 11 o clock meal having lost one hours sleep. We did get a table and Son behaved himself. No swearing, although he stole some chips off another man's plate coming back from the loo so I had to do a bit of apologising. Son is used to going out to restaurants as we have done so since he was newborn so I think that helps as he knows what to expect.
So I am happy because it all went well. I arrived home to flowers on the doorstep so have tons of roses,Willow, eucalyptus and some flowers I don't recognise  To top it all last years orchid has bloomed again.
Fatsia's need shade and we have a very shady garden in parts. I've always wanted one.
Toady my Grandfather was a carpenter too. As he had 3 Daughters and no Sons it was my Mum who learnt the tricks of the trade. She was very practical.
I was never good at buying Mum nice presents when she was alive and I really had a desire to see her yesterday and rectify it but too late now.It is lovely those of you that have left flowers in your Mother's memory.
Have read about Applerose's eventful journey. What a palavar. Just as well you left 2 hours early.
Okay I should be sleeping but it is so quiet here and I thought I'd catch up online and have been here 2 hours!
Take care all

Hello everyone dull again today & not very inspiring.. not surprised you have been online 2 hours TK it's so easily done, there is always something else to do.. or look at.. have to really make myself go & do something different sometimes or I lose all track & I know I have looked at too much and my head will not thank me. :? Glad you had a nice meal your flowers sound gorgeous We both have carpentry in our blood then.. my GD also only had 1 girl my mother. I know what you mean about thinking of your Mum, I have similar feelings for slightly different reasons. Am quite hard on myself where hindsight is concerned.
Barbara I am with you now about your extension.. the previous owners tacked the utility on in what was the empty corner formed by the garage and kitchen, so filling an L shape out to a square if you follow.. so my door out of the back of the garage leads into the house. Slightly handier than yours but when you go out the 'new' back door now in the utility it is a v narrow path & a bit awkward for access & bins etc. Glad you had some 'pretties' yesterday, plants & candle, lovely. Some of the very posh candles cost such a lot don't they.
Hello joan, hope you are doing ok today too, maybe you have seen some sunshine..
Have potted all the cerinthe on so I am going for a sowing more seeds session as it's nearly April and I'm not where I should be by now.. back for more tea at intervals.. xx0 -
Evening all
Joan..I couldn't get in a couple of time today... :?
Toady..sorry you are being hard on yourself...re your mum..life is never straight forward...
The candle wasn't one of the very expensive ones I know the ones you mean..but its a lovely smell and has 4 wicks..now these seeds I always seem to be planting mine too late..I never read the instructions  good luck with yours..
today has been lovly here so I have been sat in the garden listening to the birds..there cant be a nicer sound..and the magnolia tree in the front garden of next door has a nest..its a thrush and the poor thing has been none stop today coming and going...
Right will put the kettle on and see whats left in the tin..hope you all sleep wellish...and if Christine pops in hope work was easy on you ..xxxxxxLove
Barbara0 -
Well I didn't get to the seeds  I went off on a tangent. Tomorrow, tomorrow.. yes the birds are certainly busy, makes you feel tired on their behalf, at least the weather over winter has suited some so that certain species are doing better, long-tailed tits for one (I read) have never seen one here I don't think. Very tiny. There are finches around, haven't seen a thrush yet. Things do like my slightly wild garden. Had a huge bee indoors that must have followed me into the garage, I let it out and found the same one (or looked like) back in the kitchen later, not sure how it got in that time. Haven't seen one quite like it, different to a 'typical' bumble, I will look it up. Reminds me, last night was spooky night evidently, the Woman in Black was on tv (didn't stick with it long, too scary  ), while it was on had a big spider caper over the carpet, caught that & while I was letting it outdoors the owls were hooting really loudly. They are tawny owls I think. All very ooky!
Thanks barbara I don't dwell overly on the past & family, & we did get on, but there are certainly things I would change with both parents the same as most people I expect. As you say life isn't straightforward, I can't really complain about mine.
I haven't had any login problems today.. hello to anyone who couldn't get in just in case.. kettle on for some sort of supper, xx.0 -
First in? ME? Wow. In that case.. I think I will wash the teatowels, check the biscuit tins, open the window, put the kettle on, & while I'm waiting, maybe play the spoons & sing a little song. Well no-one will hear me.
Beautiful day back later..0 -
Hello Toady Barbara
Toady how are the seeds good luck with them.
Barbara i'm going to look at your cad biscuits tomorrow.

Got a great hanging basket from the garden centre ready planted ,it's wicker with pansies ivy and something I shall have to read the label to find out what, hubby cooked Sunday lunch as daughter usually does it but she was at work with it being Mother's Day they had a full restaurant,it was sausage and mash with baked beans, sounds strange for Mother's Day lunch but hubby had a stroke 11years ago and has memory problems ,balance problems and can only see straight in front so he does things that are easy for him,the only drawback is I have to stay in the kitchen with him he's been known to walk away and just leave things on the cooker.
We are off on our travels again on Friday got a long weekend break to Bournemouth never been there so we are looking forward to it. Mig
Ps mince and tatters and Yorkshire puddings today.0 -
Afternoon all
Toady I knew you would beat me in one day...
I forgot to get on this morning TT sent me a new router so was playing around getting that going..that I had to see my GP ...one of my legs looks like a tree trunk  ..and any changes have to be reported because of this kidney prob that I didn't know I had for 2 years ...drink more water and no salt what so ever..I got Ecoli a few years ago we think it was from a farm visit..so this attacked my kidneys ..I dont add salt to anything but when you look it is added to most foods...
Toady...I have some little demons that visit because I wasn't there for my mum and then my dad when they died..not that I didn't try..
Hope you have got the seeds in today the weather is glorious..just had a walk with hubby and my crutches in the park...not much of a park anymore but at least there are seats in there..
Joan the biscuits are lovely hope you get some...
Christine's not been in she must be shattered...bless..and not seen Catie or Marianne...
I am sat here with my leg up on the lawnmower box...will see you all later xxxxxxx Mig just spotted you there...bless your hubby did well them good on him your tea sounds good...think I might just pop round....xxLove
