Hi all, popping in for a coffee, head like a boiled owl today  serves me right for shopping online in the early hours, maybe coffee will do its thing.. at least the sun's out. I loved woollies too.. in recent times as well as going back, miss it no end.. :( you could get right off the bus and go in & get such a lot of stuff you couldn't get locally otherwise. Wil*o is fine but not got a local one, luckily we have an 'all-sorts' shop now doing a bit of everything so that's a huge help. Guess we all love postie bringing things, it's compensation for not getting to go shopping I suppose.. plus the added 'opening a parcel' fun.

Barbara the meds do help me no doubt about that, they were a life-saver considering how I was, my joints are greatly improved & bloods are good; I think I feel more like I am full of drugs as time goes by though, tireder and other stuff, so I suppose the meds giveth and the meds taketh away. I've seen people say that in some ways they feel better if they have to come off them for a bit, I can imagine.

Hello Joan, glad you still have little lexi.. she sounds like a dear.. and pup too. Hope they aren't missing maxi. Lovely to have them around especially now. Hope you are both doing ok.

Tkachev, family history does take a lot of chasing up, I have gone round in circles for some things & got very confused. Pays to have an unusual name, I looked up an ancestor for one friend that had a lovely name, was so easy there was only one of him. Not like poor Barbara and the Davis'. :? Hope you & family are doing ok.

    See you all, xx :)

    Good news everyone
I had a long long look through the net.for the form that has been charging me..3 different email addresses and two text stop failed so I found something from a few years ago and it gave another name for them..so I emailed them and they have got back to say that it had been signed for( no it hadn't) but out of courtesy because no games have been downloaded for the two month they will refund my money and stop the charges..fingers crossed
Thanyou for offering Elizabeth I might well get back to you..hope the appointment went well
Joan how lovely of your sister..I wish that we had two dogs when we lost our Susie..it must help
Toady Im am glad to hear the meds work for you, like you say the side effects aren't very nice but hoe good to see such an improvement..got a call today for a rheumy appointment on the 1st May..think its that i have wrote it down :? it was from the choose and book ..I have OA but there are lots more thing turning up so we shall see what is going on
yes woolies..we don't have a local wilkise but the nearby town does and its not far
I think we are having an Indian takaway tonight...I just have a bit of hubbys and nan bread..but I enjoy it.. :D
will see you all tomorrow..hope Christine had a safe journey..xxxxx

Just popped in to say hello while we are sat watching Peppa Pig and Thomas the tank engine. My daughter is at work and has put my GD in creche as I wasn't sure I could handle 2 of them at once, especially as the little one doesn't like mummy being out of sight. I'm taking my GS to a toy shop in a few minutes then meeting up with mummy for lunch.n

Hope everyone is doing ok. Will try and post again later.

Hello all, hello applerose across the water glad things are going well & trip was obviously straightforward.. hope you get some nice toys :D barbara sorry you have a poorly GD, doesn't sound very nice, hot & cold oh dear poor thing, do hope you avoid it. Glad you remembered your appt in time. Hopefully your phone business is sorted then, the old 'goodwill gesture', hmm.. the usual line for it's our fault but we'll make it sound like it's not  ..

Just waiting for my wi**o parcel, it is due today having been ordered late Sunday, so really that equates to next day delivery.. for the ordinary charge.. v impressed with that, especially as an impatient toad, & have a 2hour trackable delivery slot, so brilliant, really. :)

Nothing else going on, sorry I didn't ask about your appointment tkachev I didn't automatically assume it was a medical one but I suppose that's the obvious really considering where we are, unfortunately..

by the way excuse me slipping in and out of using real names & forum names, I know I am, it's just a case of what keeps people straight in my mind at the time so I'll probably keep going between the two, no reason.

Tea & a bun will be lovely, then best do something useful.. so dull today I am half asleep with it. Won't warm up til next weekend I think they said.

Hello joan I have just seen you as well, tea in the pot.. :)

    Hello everyone,

    Wet and miserable today.

Just waiting for my shopping from A*da. Only £1 delivery charge after four. It would cost me that in petrol. Only ordered healthy stuff, low fat this, that and t`other, as I`ve put 3lbs on. After all the hard work to lose four stones, I`m not putting it back on again, so no more salted caramel cakes or ice cream for moi. I`ve also started using my exercise bike again. My Consultant said I could. I was a bit scared of kicking anything off, but all well so far.

My next door neighbour has a firm in at the moment re-modelling the back garden. None of my business, but I`m really hoping they don`t chop too much down. We have lovely big, mature gardens, and some of their trees give me privacy. Mind you, I think my own will still do the trick. One sad thing though. At the front they had a beautiful Magnolia. My front is block paving, so as it overhung it was lovely, but that`s gone too.

Christine Enjoy your grandchildren. I`ll be seeing mine at Easter. Safe journey back home.

Barbara Your grandchildren are so lucky to have you always there for them. It must be very tiring for you, but I think you love it.

Toady I hope your parcel has arrived. I`ve got one here from Am*z*n, but I`ve been given strict instructions not to open it until Sunday.

Joan So pleased that you still have your little doggy friends. You won`t forget Maxi, but at least you have them to cuddle.

OK, Ryvita for me with Laughing Cow cheese.......Booooring!!!!

    Much love to all......Rosie.x.

Hello Joan..hope you and Sue are doing well
Toady I don't mind what you call me  mind you the user name is a clue  so your delivery from wilkies... is due:D hope it has arrive...when you think how cheap some of this deliver is we will all become recluses.. :o

Hi toady, it was only a jab with the Nurse but had to wake myself up when I'd rather have slept. I have made up for the missed sleep today though.

Glad it is all sorted Barbara. I have PAYG on the children's phones for this very reason- to prevent ending up with a big bill. I only had a tenner on there in the first place. I signed some terms and conditions and ended up paying a fiver for a bundle of internet usage I didn't want or ask for! I see all sorts of devious tricks mentioned online and mobile phone companies are the worst offenders. If they don't repay there is a complaints department like ofcom or ofgen.

I used to get called TK on here so feel free. It is a lot easier.

I like my privacy too Rosie and love our tall hedge and trees however we do have some really tall ones very close to our house which are not our responsibility and I worry when it is windy. A laurel branch snapped off and feel into our garden the other day. There was a nest on it and the baby birds are now exposed to danger.

Joan I'm glad you still have Lexi and a puppy. They want let you get too sad. They will sense you need an extra cuddle.

Is Catie still in hospital with her infection. I imagine she is feeling fragile and Marianne has been absent for some time.Hope you are all okay,

Love to Mr.O, coco, Karen and Toni our absent friends,

    Elizabeth x

*wanders in.. has a virtual scuffle in Rosie's shopping bags.. finds low-calorie foods.. moves onto barbara's shopping..*

Glad both your deliveries went well. My parcel came within the allotted time, marked 'next day' even though it supposedly wasn't.. happy with my stuff. Sunday for your parcel-opening Rosie, how is a person supposed to wait til Sunday?! 'spect it'll be worth it. :) Reclusive, barbara, I'm nearly there already. 8) Sorry you felt so out of it on the gabapentin. You can't win with some of these things. :(

Sorry about your overhanging trees as well Rosie, I wish people wouldn't chop so much down.. well done with the cycling, I'm sure you can compromise a tiny bit and have the odd nice cake..

..tkachev that's awful about your bird's nest, you're bound to fear the worst.. I know you aren't supposed to interfere with nature & anyway you can't really do much but that's unfortunate they were there on that very branch. :( Glad you got nurse over & done with, it's a pain dragging out to appointments when you feel nothing like it. TK, I rather like that; I may go with it thanks.. :)

Sitting here quietly I can hear movement from the cafe hedgehog's box, so she may be on her way soon.. animated-hedgehog-image-0001.gifI'll check tomorrow & see if she wants something..

night all, there's supper drinks & biccies if anyone pops in.. xx

Afternoon everyone, sky is thick with clouds. We will get rain soon and possibly hail - again  with snow on high ground. We live in a valley though and don't very often get much of the white stuff thank goodness.

Mig, what a nuisance for you. Hope your son can sort things out. We have laptops but also desktops. Those are running Windows XP (very old, like me) and support for that is running out in April. We might just use the laptops then, with Windows 7.

Barbara, I too like hot cross buns (any brand) but OH isn't keen on the cinnamon in them. But we both love toasted tea cakes, so I'll go and do myself one - or two. With a hot cup of Redbush tea.

Toady, I didn't know we had a hedgehog. We've got a hedgehog house beneath the fatsia Japonica, but can't get to see if anyone is at home.

Did anyone watch Lambing Live last night? Loved it - mind you, it had the delicious Adam Henson on, I'd watch anything with him and animals in it. Love Countryfile too. I think I'm a frustrated farmer at heart.

Still no Dermatology appointment! I think I'll give my other ologists a quick visit while I'm here.

    Hugs to all.

Evening, late again.. nice to see you mig, I thought there was a lack of cooking smells lately.. sorry you've had pc probs, nice to have someone trustworthy to look at it for you, saves thinking someone is coming up with problems you don't have just to charge you :? Seems like there are a few of us pondering the future after xp, not sure of my next move yet either.

Kath we had your hail here and some nasty bursts of rain, went v black at one point. Found one little fine bit to go in the garden but it soon 'turned'. Hope you are chasing your ologists with a stick and making them get their acts together. A hedgehog house, lovely :) has it been used in past years? I worry about cats with some things but hedgehogs would be ok (I think?), I know dogs would have a go but hopefully mr or mrs h.hog would come off best against most things..

The buns were very nice barbara even if not m*s. :D I bring some almond slices to make up for rifling in peoples' shopping (which it goes without saying is the last thing I would ever really do. the idea!). Go on, go veggie, you know you want to  Your GD sounds still to be suffering rather, hope she gets on ok, pity they aren't off a little longer (in that sense).

Just found the courier I use instead of royal mail has dropped their prices quite a chunk which is great for me with no nearby PO. :D

    best to all, xx.

Hello all, yes it's cold dachshund.. in fact I can't get over how cold it is, keep thinking I'm imagining it but no  warmer by the weekend apparently, thought they originally said next weekend but maybe I got that wrong.

Funny old day.. dithered about whether to go out quickly to town as it was probably the best day I was going to get for it time-wise, & wanted 1 or 2 things.. missed one bus, then it started raining, I think it was trying to tell me something.. :( one of those grey days where shabby bits of town centres look & feel even shabbier, couldn't get what I wanted anyway & wished I hadn't bothered. The cheaper & charity shops made me feel down-at-heel and scruffy just by being in them (there was a chap in one that would have fitted well on one of applerose's buses), then went in a posher shop and felt scruffy anyway, by comparison. Glad to get back home, where at least it doesn't smell (or if it does it can only possibly be me!!), & resort to the net for shopping.

On the plus side I got some seeds in the post, with the most beautiful detailed growing instructions I've ever seen.. packed so nicely, lovely little printed labels, & everything. Looking forward to sowing them. Hope the frost does not get the magnolia barbara, a few things will get nipped the next couple of days I imagine. Hope your GD is ok.. that must have been some photo :o:o what a thing to get! Ooer.

Having a hot mug of soup, and will pass it round to any cold souls. xx

Joan it was freezing here in the afternoon and last..but this weekend apparently is going to be warm.. :D
Toady I know the charity shops you mean,,I was an avid shopper in them but had the nice ones I visited.....cant get round them the same now but we have a lovely one nearby ..I love having a mooch round... :) glad you get the seeds... oh how I love this time of the year..I have put some hardy little shrubs in off the shopping Chanel..and covered them with bubble wrap for the min..
The sun is shinning hubby is off for the day...we hope...so will be out somewhere oh to get rid of these crutches..
Right a cuppa and then I will get ready..see you all later..hope you have a goodish day..xxxx

A nice cuppa for me too.. cold & windy out there, looking forward to tomorrow's promised 'sunny & warm' if we get it.. your shrubs will be glad of it.. hope it kept nice long enough for you to go out barbara. Did you tick off any of your jobs yesterday.. have to roll all mine on on account of going out.

We also have better & worse charity shops but you get some good books in some of them so it's worth a quick nip in, though I don't get to go often either. Last-but-one trip I bought 5 good penguin paperbacks @ £1 each, all lovely condition, totted up the cover prices they would have cost me c.£45.. some of them were £8.99 new, for a paperback, good heavens. No wonder one can't afford many new books, I don't think I could hand over that much. Mind you no decent bookshops round here now, oh to get over to a big waterstone's or something.. They were saying again in my local paper how internet shopping is affecting town trade, but I always say, I only started buying a lot of things online because I could no longer get them in the shops.. though people shopping online will have contributed to the initial decline of shops.. chicken and egg etc.

Hope everyone has an okish day and applerose has a good trip back tomorrow. xx

Fed up, fed up, fed up (kicking all my 'ologists up the b*m).

I got my blood test results back today and they're all normal!! You'd think I'd be happy wouldn't you. Well I am, because it means there's nothing wrong with my liver, but it also means I'm no closer to finding a solution to my itchy problem. Back to the drawing board. Still no appointment (now there's a surprise) and I'm off to see my oncologist on Tuesday. Don't know what he will have to say about it all. Rant over.

Toady, we have some great charity shops, but I no longer have time to browse. My daughter only has one where she lives, and she gets practically all her clothes, books and ornaments from there. It's an Arthritis one so she's helping the cause.

Joan, I always seem to be cold lately. Then come bedtime I can't snuggle down as I get warm and begin to itch...Grrr

Barbara, I know what you mean about the lambs. I do eat some meat, and I have to admit that lamb is my favourite (sorry Adam Henson).

This is our first year with the hedgehog house Toady, but we think that one had sometimes made a nest beneath the Fatsia Japonica (where we have placed the house) as OH had heard snoring sounds coming from there before. We also have a container of water sunk into the ground as we often get frogs - when the cats leave them alone. We've frequently seen them doing the breaststroke backwards and forwards. Here are a couple of our wildlife homes.

    BeeHouse2_zps7af436eb.jpg

    Bee house

    ButterflyHouse1_zps3d3d223e.jpg

    Butterfly house

We also have a couple of Ladybird houses too. Can't say we're not doing our bit.

    Bye for now

Hello Kath :) they are nice houses, thanks for posting them. :) I keep meaning to look into beehouses etc as most of my planting at the moment is for their benefit so I may as well offer them some accom too.. I would love some 'sparrow flats' but I dare not. Knowing wildlife your hedgehogs will continue to live under your fatsia and ignore the house.

Sorry about your pesky appts :( I am glad about your bloods and liver (in mine & anyone's book a good liver is to be hung onto at all costs), but I quite see where you are frustrated, with a lack of something to follow up re your itching. Good luck for your appointment on the 1st and fingers crossed it's useful.

Mig I'd love some chips if there are any spare. May have to go & put some in now.

Hi everyone. I'm home. Managed to empty my clothes on to the kitchen floor but they haven't made it in to the washing machine. Had something to eat and drink and made myself feel a little sick eating chocolate. I've had a quick read through but sooooo tired, I will try and read some more over the weekend. Hope everyone is as good as they can be.
