Afternoon Toady and Joan...and anyone else that may be lurking..
Joan I'm the same just once today I logged in to be told the forum is down for the min ...then had another look and here we are..
Toady yes its been a long journey with our GC but thing are a little more settled now..thank goodness
Hope you enjoyed the hot cross bun..Have you tried the M&* luxury ones..they are heaving with fruit... have you done the injection yet..that is the one thing I hated when I had my THR..it was only around 3 weeks.
Well it poured down so we went to the garden center..its massive inside so lots to see...a brilliant display for Easter and spring... and we had a cuppa and a posh cake with a posh price so we shared it...
think I might make some toast..with cheese just fancy some...Love

Well I have just woken up. I decided to buy some school clothes for my growing children but M&S have updated their website and I have to put all my details in again so didn't bother in the end. I'm still a bit sleepy.
I've lost a bank statement which I need next week so I'll have to go and sort through everything in order to find it. I keep putting it off as I'm so tired.
Has anyone seen Karen lately? I hope she's not struggling.
Daughter is coming for my birthday and I still haven't got any nice food or a cake. I will have to drag myself out at somepoint.
Love to you all

Hello both, barbara the garden centre sounds lovely yes I bet the cake prices are steep  hope it was a generous piece. Can't really get to grips with what you have to hand over these days, if two of you have coffee & cake pretty much anywhere; I can remember back too far that's the trouble of course. Glad you were in under cover it's the best way to shop. I have done my jab thanks, 2 a week for me glad I don't mind too much. I haven't been to M&* lately but I can imagine they would do a decent hotxbun.
..and talking of M&* tkachev - yes they have indeed mucked about with their website and not for the better in my book - change my password indeed  they keep having re-workings & changes don't they but from what I've seen it's not the way to get themselves back on track. Hope you find your bank statement. Could you get a bit of online birthday shopping in maybe.. hope you can enjoy the day (when is it) but it's hard if you're tired, horrid isn't it, if I could get shot of the fatigue I could cope with the other stuff. Ish.
Cheese on toast sounds nice but I am going to have some chips.0 -
Spiders won't come back in mig, I put them into the deepest darkest corner where a lot of flies hang out - that should keep them out there.
Toady, I'm waiting for the dermatology appointment, then I have another oncology appointment. In between I have to fit appointment with my GP and a blood test. All this 'ology' activity means we will have to put of the electrical work for a bit - ooo I am sad .
Just noticed my last post was edited for swearing - sorry, but I didn't think that was a swear word.
Barbara, my youngest was born on 2nd April, so just missed being an April fool that day.

Had a lovely lunch with daughter in Carluccios but spoilt when they added two coffees which we hadn't had to the bill then took 15 mins to sort it out,so ladies when you eat out no matter where check your bill because you never know.
Tut tut Kath told off for swearing . Mig0 -
Evening all
Toady glad you have the injections twice a week and not every day..and yes I remember back that far a cake and a cuppa 50p...
Elizabeth I have left am PM for Karen..but not heard anything yet..I dont like to mather her..hope you get some well earned sleep tonight then tomorrow you can get some food in for your Birthday..look well if your daughter bring a couple of bags full
Mig ..we have found this a few times now..what gets me is they never undercharge you... what a shame it spoiled a lovely day for you...
We have one GC here..not sure what she up ..but she is very quiet... :? so I will leave her alone for now..
I'm off to bed soon..will see you all tomorrow...sleep well xxxxxxLove
Barbara0 -
Glad you enjoyed your lunch Mig. Pity it was spoiled by the bill being wrong.
Ooh, Kath, have you been using naughty words? Hope the appointment went well.
Elizabeth, I hope you have a lovely day with your daughter for your birthday. Could she bring some birthday food with you being so tired? Hope you find your bank statement. I do my banking online so all my statements are there all the time.
Barbara, the M*S hot x buns are delicious, aren't they? Posh cake? Sounds lovely but, as you say, they are pricey.
Hi Joan. I missed the closure too. Never felt a thing.
Hope you enjoyed your hot x bun Toady. Good luck with your to do list.Christine0 -
Just to say goodnight to anyone up & I guess good morning in advance to those who come & read early before me tomorrow.
Plenty hot x buns left for 11s's they are from the milkman (well not a present you understand just purchased in the usual way).
Hello Kath hope you fit in all your appointments in the right order & can keep track, I've turned up for bloods on the wrong day once so never again. No sparky now for a while eh, oh shame, it's an ill wind. Although not the sort of postponing excuse you want of course.
Applerose having a to-do list is turning out to be quite illuminating as to what does & doesn't get ticked off; I will post my scientific findings in due course. The trouble is, spoon theories & all that is all very well but I think I've only got one of those tiny useless spoons (like they used to use for salt?) so what can you do with that.
Mig they should have given you a chit for 2 free coffees next time for goodwill. Glad the rest of it was nice anyway.
Dachshund hello & hope you're well, you take care too.
Been a funny old day will be glad to get to bed. night, toady xx.0 -
morning ....pouring down here...
Sorry I have just seen I forgot our Kath yesterday...sorry..and I hope you get there with all your cologist...
Toady whats this and the milkman... ummm..mine never delivered hotcross buns... :? I see you was up in the early hours..hope you managed some sleep ...must say I love getting bed its the only way I can relax my joints...
Christine have you decided on the extra hours... :?:
one GC just gone to school and two coming back....not a clue what the bedroom looks like..might just leave it...
I have a tooth that is causing some pain..its has been filled around 7 months but I can feel it erupting... :x rather than leave it I will ring the dentist..yes I have one ...I don't want to go through the weekend with it..
See you all later xxxxxxxLove
Barbara0 -
Morning all,Pouring down here too but it's not cold. Phone ringing back later. Mig0

Hehehe. I must be more careful when using words beginning with c and ending with y.
I've decided to keep all my 'cologists' in the spare cupboard right at the back of the cafe. You can ask them anything you like as long as you stuff a cake in their mouth before answering (they make more sense that way).
I've been watching James Martin make some Madeleines this afternoon. Nothing like the ones I remember. His were tiny, full of butter and cream, and he dipped them in a honey sauce. Very nice I'm sure, but the ones I like look like little pink pyramids with jam inside, covered in coconut with a cherry on top. Mmmm, just fancy one now.
I had to have paracetamols and Ibuprofen last night as my right wrist and thumb joint felt as though it was broken. Now it's in my little finger too. I've been wearing my hand splint all day. It makes it difficult to type.

Well had my usual long sleep but went out to get my birthday cake and some flowers. hoping to get a birthday lie in before my daughter arrives.
yes very frustrated with M&s as they wanted all sorts of details and I was in a rush.
oh has his birthday April 1st but nobody plays any tricks on him.
I have just found the missing bank statement(filed in the wrong section) so feeling happy as one less thing to worry about when feeling like death:D
finishing up and passing lappy on to my Son.

Toady, it will be interesting to see you findings re-the to-do list. Mine gets longer and longer with not much ticked off. No, one itsy bitsy spoon is no good at all, is it? Pity they didn't supply them at the hospital.
Barbara, yes I'm doing an extra half day starting on Monday. I'll see how I go and will have to cut my hours back again if I can't cope. I'll miss the time off but I need the money and I look on it as exercise. If I wasn't doing this job, I probably wouldn't get enough. You should get your GDs to tidy the bedroom. They sound as if they are good girls. Hope you get to see the dentist quickly. Best get it seen to just in case it gets worse.
Hi Mig, hope it didn't pour down all day for you.
Brilliant idea about the cologists. Bet they get plenty of cake. I've always thought of Madelines they same as you. Guess he's trying something different. But then, isn't that a different thing. Hope your hand improves by morning.
Elizabeth, glad you managed to find the bank statement and get your cake and flowers. Hope you do get a nice long lie-in. You deserve it. Have a lovely day tomorrow.
The 18 year old boy at work was going on a weekend trip this afternoon so he emptied all his PE clothes etc out of his bag and left them dumped on the worktop in the utility room so I left them there. His mum came in and saw them and said she'd get him to sort them out. When he came in, he picked them off the shelf and dropped them on the floor in front of the washer. He's also stopped leaving his clothes all over the floor in his bedroom. Now he walks 3 steps outside of his bedroom and drops them on the floor, 2 steps away from the wash basket. Teenagers, who'd have them.
Enjoy the weekend everyone. We're supposed to be getting good weather.Christine0 -
Son on the phone"did we want a lift to the shops" it's great since he passed his driving test.
It stopped raining as we got out of the car ,the sun came out it ended up being a lovely day.
Got ironing and packing to do ready for Monday .
Hope everyone can get a good nights sleep. Mig0 -
I popped back in because I remembered I hadn't said I hoped barbara gets on ok at the dentist & now I see my earlier post (half an hour or so) isn't here. I've seen people say they've lost posts now it's my turn. Blah.
Short version of what was in it: Barbara yes I sleep pretty well thanks, I'm usually here lateish because I go to bed late & get up late, prob not ideal but seems to work better than early/early. Could sleep half the day as well if I let myself I expect. :? It's waking up that's the trouble. Hope you enjoyed your curry. Your milkman may have just brought milk, now they bring milk and m*re.
We had sun here but there seems to have been fair bit of rain reading back. I got some washing hung out & so on.
Kath I think of a madeleine the same as your description, but I wouldn't turn one of the others down. Don't waste them on the cologists, they can have j*m*ica ginger cake. Sorry your hands/fingers are playing up.
And to update for recent posters:
Tkachev you put it in a nutshell with what you said re finding your statement. Sums it up perfectly. Wishing you the best for your birthday.
Applerose that does not sound too many extra hours I thought it may be more, hope it works out at least you can be flexible about cutting back so not toooo much pressure. Maybe I could pick up a few spare spoons off eb*y. I have seen people selling recycled old silverplate spoons & forks with all sorts engraved on them, herb names for plant markers, & presents, people are very creative, some of them were rather nice.
Night all & a good weekend. toady xx
ps hi mig that sounds like a nice day good luck with the packing & prep.0 -
Morning all,Ironing done it's now hanging all over the dining room ready to be packed tomorrow.Bread rolls in the fridge waiting to be filled tomorrow evening ,we take our own lunch when on a long coach trip hubby doesn't do salad or mayo and stuff so it's easier to take our own and it's cheaper too,we will have them on the coach and just have a hot drink when we stop.
Been watching a little of the para Winter Olympics such brave talented folk.Rugby today and tomorrow .Hope you all have a good day. Mig0 -
Afternoon to one and all, sandwich packing, bus journeys, dentists, SPIDERS in the cafe, nooooo - I will try and read back, but it never quite works out.
Not been in the cafe for a while. Still recovering from our two bereavements, but we are getting there, slowly.
Been super tired, both of us, fybro has taken a good grip of me and I can sleep for Queen and country. Pain levels have gone up and more tramadol required to keep arthur at bay. I think it is a culmination of things, with all the visiting when family where ill and then two passing away, life's events knock you off your feet sometimes. I am still hanging onto my perch though, Trish used to say, don't fall off your perch.
I hope everyone is as ok possible, I have had a spray round with that spider deterrent, the one with chestnut extract in it (we have bottles of it),doesn't harm them, they just avoid crossing over it, hence we have the house surrounded
Malteser cake in the fridge, with a fudge sauce for extra sickliness
Take care, XXXX BubblesXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Hello bubbles how very nice to see you. Glad to hear you are coping in the aftermath of your family troubles but I can well imagine it has taken a good bite out of your energy and indeed given you a knock as you say. Hope you are able to get the benefit of resting up (willingly or unwillingly, the latter I expect).
Nice to have a fellow spiderphobe for company, we can huddle in a safe litle chestnut-spray circle and let the don't mind 'em types deal with any that get too near. We can take it in turns to dash to the fridge & the kettle for supplies.
Glad your preparations are well under way mig, I quite like fiddling with packing etc, used to be a bit of a list maker & fretter but I enjoyed it at the same time in a slightly-obsessive way. I have improved a bit but now I don't really go anywhere . Chiefly hope the weather behaves for you it sounds promising.
No barbara today hope she is just busy or shopping or something nice. I am writing a letter (yes, really) so I am doing a few lines and hopping to and fro between tabs shopping & browsing to break it up Plenty of tea needed for writing letters so I am right by the kettle ready to hair-trigger the switch at any time.
Back to the job in hand, toady xx0 -
Afternoon all..
Toady I did get to see the dentist, but have to go back Monday wasn't very pleased it is raging now..so extra codeine..and I have been cutting down on them..so I think it will have to come out Monday,,they put something on but it only work for an hour...

Mig how lovely to be planning your trip..hope you have a really lovely time and the weather is unusually mild..I do love little breaks in this country..
Christine..yes teenagers...I find it hard to get on at the girls they have had such a bad time in there life..but I still keep the discipline up...good for you doing the extra hours and you are right its exercise..
Aww bubble I thought you might be suffering..and forgive me for not mentioning you being missing..hope today goes better for you...
Elizabeth good that you have found the statement...last year hubby had to get copy's of all of ours when we moved the kitchen they all got thrown out....
Wishing you a very happy birthday..have a lovely tome with your daughter and the rest of the family
See you all later...xxxxx Just spotted you Toady glad you got round to your letter writing..Love
Barbara0 -
Sorry about your toothache Barbara hope it's not too bad over the weekend.
I love proper letters Toady ,we always get thank you letters from our grandchildren and yes they sometime text or skype but always write ,I've kept them all .
Though daughter will be home while we are away I still set the timer to put the lights on,she sometime home quite late so she won't come in in the dark.
Hi bubbles we've missed you, hope things are a little brighter for you and yours. Mig0 -
How lovely to be driven out to get your shopping on a beautiful day Mig. Hope you manage to get all your packing done. We used to do take our own picnic things too. As you say, you get what you want then.
Toady I agree, if going to bed late and getting up late works, why not? I knew a couple who were the opposite, they went to bed early as there was nothing on tv and got up early to make the most of the daytime. Letter writing? Not sure if I remember how to.
Good to see you back Bubbles. Don't worry about reading back. There seems to be many more posts these days. Bereavements always take time to come to terms with and you will get there. Not surprised at all that you are so tired. Hope that improves before too long.
Barbara, why did they not fix your tooth straight away? Does your dentist make you wait for an appointment. Mine treats straight away if you are in pain. Hope the painkillers help.Christine0 -
Morning all
Thanks Mig the tooth is painful hopefully tomorrow it will be gone..thank goodness its a back one.. bet you are really looking forward to this break..its lovely that your son can now take you shopping..
Christine,,I had to take what dentist were taking on last year..and he had a surgery full.. he said he would put this stuff on and to keep putting toothpaste on the tooth and gum...must say it eased it but have to keep doing it...hope your dad is doing ok..
The weather is lovely this morning we will have to think about buying a mower the one we had gave up last year..
Just one GC here now the eldest went home yesterday she has a concert today one of the Goth group she follows...she draws them and they have asked her to design a t shirt for them so she is a happy girl
I will put the kettle on and fill the coffee machine in case Toni comes in..hope you all have a goodish day...xxxxxLove
Barbara0 -
Hope you can keep the toothache at bay till your appointment Barbara. Thanks for asking about my dad. His memory seems a tiny bit worse. He is starting to do what mum did and is getting out all the old photos each week to show us. And shows a couple of them several times within a few hours. My sisters are at it again about my brother. I don't know when he last visited dad but dad said he hasn't seen him for months. Now we all know that's not right but my sisters are posting on FB that he hasn't been for 3 months. That was the beginning of December but we know he was there around Xmas and again at New Year. And his wife said they had been just 2 weeks ago. I'm ignoring it and letting them get on with it.
I think you can get some quite cheap mowers. Hope you can find one that suits. My son has just sent me a text to say they are probably going to the local park so I'd better go and get dressed. Waiting for my GD to get home from a sleepover first. Hope you all have a good day whatever you are going.Christine0
