Proof that I have actually been working, barbara and joan. :D assorted pots and gardening detritus. Marsh mallow, scabious, thai basil & sweet basil today. More to do but it's another little 'chunk'. I 'forked' out (excuse pun) for proper seed compost this year and it's lovely stuff to work with.

Barbara, sorry to hear you are having problems with your leg caused by kidney trouble going back to the e-coli :( , it is indeed difficult to avoid salt.. was that the only main gist of your gp's advice.. no wonder you were not here to open up. Have to pull up a cafe chair to put your leg up.. & rest (curses, eh). I too couldn't do as much for parents as they needed at the end, part circumstance, part health, but also being naturally cowardly, & bad around illness &c (the irony..!) it sounds like I'm being harsh but it's more about being honest with yourself & squaring your own conscience, you know yourself if you did your best or not, so while I can & have accepted the way things turned out, I like to be 'straight'. Families, eh.. :?

Hope you get some biscuits joan you can review them for us. :) Still warmish tomorrow supposedly but not as nice.. we'll see.

Hello mig, have a nice weekend hope it stays fine for you there too.. sausage and mash & beans is very creditable, hope the yorkshires rise nicely tonight (I take it they are not auntie b***ie's!!) Hope your hanging basket settles nicely & you work out all its contents.. is it traditional bowl shaped or one of those cone types etc..

More tea for me and a short rest I think (blah) although won't be time to do much by the time I get up again.

Not aunt b's but a leading supermarket brand.
It's round ,they had a nice 50p shaped one but it was very expensive.

wonder why you couldn't log in Joan? Did they ever do the AC update?

I took OH out for a birthday meal today. Its not often we go out together nowadays so we had lunch while the kids were at school. It was really nice but then crashed out for hours and have only just woken myself up.

I'm not allowed to stay online as L. is trying to sleep and the laptop

is bright so I'll speak another time. Got blurry eyes too Applerose.

sorry to rush off without mentioning everyone.

    Sleep well.

Meant to say earlier but forgot (brain like sieve) if Kath is reading hope all went well today. :)

Hello applerose & TK, hope you both feel brighter tomorrow, glad you had a nice meal TK.. it's a pain 'paying' afterwards but the main thing is you had a nice time for OH's birthday :) My posts basically boil down to 'I've planted some seeds' so don't bother reading mine back. :D

50p shaped Yorkshire pudding, interesting, mig! didn't mean to imply you should be making your own, by the way, I just assumed. Wish I had a buttered crumpet now but I don't :( so have made do with some nice bread & apricot jam.

    'night all xx

:lol: oh lol.. come to think of it, how expensive could a yorkshire pudding be..

Barbara shame about the sweet-less diet sheet.. make up for it in here.. :) hope you enjoyed your campfire.. I shred everything but a fire sounds better and I have wondered about getting something I could burn stuff in, would be quicker, do you have a suitable container or are these mini-bonfires..

Good luck with your cupboard, hope you feel less tired.. do you suspect the gabapentin for the dreams, seems likely considering how the higher dose made you feel.

I trust you are not suggesting I would falsify evidence of hard work :lol: off to pot some chives and asparagus peas. Coffee first..

Hope the others have had good nights' sleep & feel not too bad today.. xx

Hi all, I've just popped in to load up the fridge with A**a's meat pies from their bakery. There's chicken, meat and potato, steak, cornish pasties and cheese bakes. I should grab one quick and I can recommend the meat and potato ones.

Had my onco appointment yesterday. She doesn't want to see me again until September, as hopefully my itching issue should be sorted by then. And she will sign me off - finally. So it will be just annual mammograms and breast checks for another 4 years. I'm being treated at Nottingham City Hospital but today I had a letter from Derbyshire breast screening (I live in Derbyshire) inviting me to go for a mammogram. So I had to ring up and inform them about Nottingham being in charge of that for 5 years. She cancelled the appointment but added that I will get another letter in 3 years  what's the point?? I wouldn't have been able to go to it anyway as it's the same day as my Dermatology appointment!!

Must go now, hope you enjoy the pies. xx

Barbara I'm always tired too. I ha to drag myself out of bed as a bill needed paying.

Toady I love to read about your garden. If I don't respond I do read all posts and try to take the info in but by time I post back I forget what to write!

I enjoyed our meal time together Barbara. He does get pushed to the back of the queue with 2 on autistic spectrum and Daughter's issues so it was nice to treat him and have a chat and a laugh. I think I will try to go out more often as it was fun.

How is Catie? Anyone know if she is out of hospital yet?

Hope Joan sees it is pistachio biscuits. Poor lady will be asking all and sundry for something that does't exist

Forgot to mention: I have recieved some advice regarding for Son's sensory assessment from online autistic website so one step closer. School rang to say he kicked off about noise and other night, well he hit me twice because OH tried to cut his finger nails. He's now taller than me so not a nice experience.

How lovely Elizabeth to get out with OH for lunch. Don't worry about rushing off. We know you can't always get on here. That's good that you've got some advice about the assessment. That must have been awful for you having your son hit you. Is your husband able to help control him or was it later when you were alone with him? I certainly do admire you. I really don't know if I could cope with it but, then again, if I were in your shoes, I guess I'd just get on with it. Hope he didn't hurt you too much. (((hugs))).

I've been feeling a little better this afternoon, thanks Toady. I know how you feel wanting a crumpet. My boss's wife had a baguette today and I really really fancied some but, being wheat free, I can't have it. I think I am going to have to ask you to come and do some sowing for me. I just can't get motivated. Walked home from work in the middle of the afternoon with the intention of doing something in the garden but, By the time I got home, I really couldn't be bothered. Maybe once the sun comes back out.

Mig, I love sausage, mash and baked beans so I would be happy with that for Mother's Day. Hope you have a lovely time in Bournemouth.

Barbara, I hope the test is ok and your kidneys aren't playing up. Things have been a little better today thanks. If you are dreaming, you probably aren't getting enough deep sleep. Hope it improves soon. I have a shredder but tend to rip up most things and put them in the compost bin. Glad OH enjoys his 'camp fire'. Just turned my mattress over (I know, I couldn't wait  ) and saw under the bed. I forgot I had put some things under there out of the way. They were on their way to the charity shop but I wanted to tidy up.

Sounds as if your onco appointment went well Kath. That would be great to be signed off. Fingers crossed the itching has gone by then. Thanks for the pies. Think I'll have a chicken one.

I went to my boss's mum's today. She asked me to mop all the downstairs floors. Usually I dry them off a bit with another mop but she said not to today, they'll dry by themselves. I was sweeping the study floor when she came in and said "No, no, you don't need to sweep first." Then she looked down at the little pile of bits I'd already swept up and started laughing and said, "Just pretend they're not there." She is really funny sometimes.

Date nights, what a good idea Barbara!

Got another wallop off of my Son after I posted. He is worse with OH so I keep them apart but I must admit I was very cross with him and turned off his laptop and sent him upstairs. He'd had a bad day at school so it seems to be coming out at home so I understand where it is coming from but canot allow it to continue.

Stayed awake today because I need to sort out an ISA but have probably left it too late again!

Hello all.. nice and busy.. thank you for the kettle last night barbara, I was glad of it when I came in later on but it was my turn to be a bit past concentrating/posting so I just had a nice cup of tea & a read.. :)

Hope your shopping turns up promptly, mine tomorrow.. then have to start tidying up for garden man on mon., as you never know whether people will need to come in, or "go through" for something, or want to use the bathroom, so better do everywhere I suppose.. applerose would you like to do some tidying for me if I do some potting for you  I expect you don't feel like it by the time you get in, I couldn't do what you are doing so I guess that's where our spoons even up, as I can stop and start what I'm doing at home.. though I am poking myself to get on with a stick most of the time  Your boss's mother sounds a good sort, better that way than checking your work with a magnifying glass to see if you have missed a speck. Hope you are recouping a bit from your travels. Sorry about the baguette :(

Glad to hear your news Kath :) one less thing to go to, even if they are trying to send you duplicate appointments. You will be glad to be signed off. I will try & cheese bake thanks, no idea what any of as*a things are like as have never had one near nor have tried them online.

Sorry about your son's difficulties TK, it must be so frustrating for him, and difficult for you.. what will the sensory assessment involve and where will it be? Thank you for reading my gardening stuff, it's hard to tell sometimes what's interesting to others or only to yourself. Not very nice out there today so will do a bit indoors, though I do have to do one little bit of digging later.. :? ..neighbours' cat brought his first mouse of the year last night ugh_zps7284f209.gif do wish he'd take them home to his 'mother'..
btw did you get rid of your trovigo toolbar..

Hello joan, hope you are having a good day too, and the packing is going nicely mig if you have started it.. no real sign of the dust but we're supposed to be round about the middle of it so not sure what's what..

Barbara, I will one day get round to checking out Asd* delivery. If I can get it for £1, I'll definitely order online. Do you have to order a certain amount? Only I don't usually need much just for myself. Looks as if I'm going to be very busy cleaning and tidying for everyone. Hope the dust doesn't get any worse for you. Best save your jog for later once it's gone.

Oh Elizabeth, I hope you are ok. No, you can't allow it to continue. Does your son understand at all that it is wrong? Does he maybe realise he can't get away with it at school so feels more comfortable 'letting it out' with you? I could be wrong but I think you can transfer or open an ISA any time. I've got one with not a lot in it. For several years, they just transferred it to one with better interest. A few weeks ago, they told me it was best to leave it where it was but to go back around now to double check.

Is it tomorrow you go away Mig? Have a lovely time. I love chow mein but usually go for the house special.

Hi Joan. Hope you are having a good week.

That sounds like a good swap Toady. I am hoping the weather will be decent on Sunday. It might tempt me out. My boss's mum is a lovely woman. She keeps telling me I have to phone her if I need to go anywhere and she'll take me. She's 80 and never sits still.

It was little Ruby's 1st birthday today so we all gathered for a tea party. She really seemed to realise today was different from any other day. Can't believe she's a year old already. Doesn't seem more than a couple of months when I was telling you all she had been born 2 months early.

Did anyone watch the episode of The Chase where one question was what sport does Fanny Schmellar compete in and Bradley Walsh was crying laughing and the chaser, Anne Hegarty, couldn't keep her face straight either. It's just been on It'll be Alright on the Night and the tears were streaming down my face watching them.

Hello all.. my shopping is here also.. let the coffee, doughnuts & pastries commence. :D (7 or more portions of fruit & veg a day? oh dear.. :( ) Home delivery is really the obvious way for groceries isn't it, not that I didn't used to like fetching my own, I very much did.. but that was when I lived opposite a supermarket & down the road from High St little shops. Also lost our wai**ose anyway, & some others moved out-of-town, so that sort of settled it. Feel lucky to be around at the right time for shops to have got into the market of deliveries.. it couldn't have come at a better time & at least it doesn't make you feel you are the only ones having to get stuff brought round because of health reasons now that 'ordinary' people are doing it as well. Of course it's really just going back to the old times of delivery boys etc (granville et al) so it's just full circle.

Not much going on today, tidying & general poking about, sorting out my pc for zero hour on the 8 April.. I have some upgrades & stuff to do in the next few days so if at some point I disappear, I have probably fried a vital component so don't worry  see you all later, have a lovely weekend mig and thanks for the tidying applerose, at least you didn't have mig's ironing as well. :)

Hello to any others reading, xx

Thanks for the info about the delivery Barbara. Will check it out over the weekend and start making my list. Hope you enjoyed your trip out. I've had quite a few pigeons in my garden. Usually only have a couple flying past.

Oh a sugar frenzy Toady. not so keen on doughnuts but I love pastries. Hope the upgrades go well and we don't lose you.

It's my niece's wedding next Friday so I had my hair cut today. Will colour it over the weekend. Still on the lookout for shoes. M&S have some which will do as long as I don't have to do much walking about.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Good Morning fellow Café dwellers :D

    I hope everyone is well?

We are fine here. So far Lucy is well and happy this week. Next week should be easier so I hope to be around more.

Christine I must say your hair looks lovely!! I hope you find some shoes in time for the wedding - maybe it will have to be the M&S ones??

I used to do online shopping regularly Toady before all this happened for all heavy items. Drinks (I do mean pop and fruit juices) cans, freezer stuff and cleaning stuffs. I thought it excellent and used to time it for when the kids were arriving home so they could help me put it away

    Hope the computer behaves :?

Hi Barbara I hope you are well after the dust. I took a photo of the dust over the QE (Birmingham) last week it was weird I thought. I hope you enjoyed your venture out yesterday :) I hope my husband and I will get out together today even if i's only for an hour.

Dear mig I hope your weekend in Bournemouth is lovely! I was born there :)

Dear Joan I hope you got some of the biccies in the end??? Thank you for asking we are all well here for now hope you are too?

Oh Elizabeth!! I am so sorry to hear what a rough time you're having with your son. You of all people don't deserve a thump :( I can imagine he and OH rubbing each other up, but it's so unfair :( These are for you (((())))

KathT I am glad to hear that you will soon be 'signed off' from the oncologist, really glad. Typical of the other hospital to not know what is going on tough  You'll just have to be 'patient' I suppose

Love to everyone else I haven't 'seen' catie, MrO, Coco, Rosieglow and Roses (Who I hear from regularly by text) andKaren etc etc...
