Morning everyone
I was very upset to hear what a stressful time you've had Joan
I hope you soon get your money back for the care you paid for. Pension credit does not leave spare for that sort of thing!! Am I right that Social services are helping? I hope so. You don't have to physically help Sue not at all they've got that wrong for definite. Cheeky Peppa breaking the remote!!! I hope your remote is sorted??? and then the freezer too :? It never rains but it pours doesn't it? These are for you ((((())))) who is so kind to all of us.
Christine I hope you aren't desperate for you money??? Imagine bumping into your ex  I would not like to do that, but as mine is over 200m away I shouldn't......
Ignore your sister **** smoke is BAD for kids and we know it now so she has no argument for that at all
Morning Barbara like you I am never in bed past 8ish even though I do try to lie-in. Kids can lie-in until lunch-time can't they? I hope your GDs get up easily for work and don't have to be nagged??
Glad your sinuses are clearing
Toady! Stop dithering!!! I often miss stuff I really want for a similar reason. Hope you are ok apart from that?
KathT I am so glad your liver results are picking up. Shouldn't those ones be around 20?? I oly know because when the chemo upset Lucy's liver it was about 300! Mind you she was yellow and glow-in-the-dark
Cate I love my tassimo. I get my pods from e*ay though because they are almost too pricey in supermarkets unless they are on offer. I prefer carte noire macchiatosMmmmmm......
Mig I have no idea why neighbours do not hear their own dogs barking!!! I hope you sleep better tonight and that lamb was lovely
Elizabeth Good to hear you're not so tired, but I hope you had a rest this morning too? Even better news about the possibility of 'breaks' . How kind of you to think of others in similar positions to yourself. Joan take her up on the offer - she knows how to tackle issues like yours
Have a look on my thread - I took some interior photos at the commons for you. Against the rules, but I know you wanted to see it
Love to you all

Morning all
Christine..think I heard you snoring last night in one of the beds...yes I was a lady that brunched...now I know what it means... :balloon: sorry you didn't get paid that is not nice..they should have made sure they left your wages... :roll:fancy keep seeing your ex hubby..how odd twice in one day...
do you still speak...you are right to get onto your sister about smoking were there are children...I have seen Grandmother out with baby's doing the same and it makes my blood boil.. :x
Toni I love the pics you posted ..what a shame they don't let you take pics..did you not get one with Andy...yes my GD gets up in a fashion..once she is up..she is dressed and ready..hope you got some well erned rest after your escapades..
Its sunny here..but cold ...the little birds are feeding away and I have noticed the red on the robins has gone bright red again..does that mean bad weather... :?
Hope you all have a goodish day xxxxxxxLove

Hello Barbara, Toni, Christine, Toady, Joan, and anyone who pops in.
Barbara, I think Robin's breast getting redder means it's time to find a mate.
Toni, rheumy told me liver function in the 70s is only slightly elevated - 300! No wonder poor Lucy was glow in the dark.
Christine, I think it will be OK to get a bed if Cate's not around. Although she can be kind and might let you sleep.
Toady, YD is into retro everything. Furniture, furnishings, kitchen equipment, even clothes. She really into the 1950s and tomorrow she and her friend are fetching a 3 piece suite of that era, which she got on Ebay for 99p. She's seen photos and it's in very good condition. The seller has a very high rating. Can't wait to see photos of it. 8)
Weather here very dull and it was spitting a bit earlier. We're supposed to get heavier rain overnight.
Just going to look what I can snaffle from the fridge and cupboards. Had a surprise yesterday, I've lost 2lbs while on steroids. Hope that lasts."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

thank you for your kind words.
I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Hello everyone,
One of those days today, so just giving in to it and doing nowt. Will be so glad to see some warmer weather.
I still haven't tried my coffee machine, just can't be bothered struggling to open the box yet. By the way Toni the pods I got were quite a bit cheaper in T**co. The caramel macchiato were £4-90 as opposed to £6-99 on Ebay.
Love to everyone....Cate.x0 -
I'm so pleased the carers money has been sorted Joan. Keep the letter safe. I agree you should not be expected to look after Sue!
Toni your trip sounded lovely but exhausting. I wouldn't want you to get into trouble taking pics on my behalf but thank you. I suppose it is a security issue.
Kath I'm pleased your results were so good. Something must be working. Cate can't tip me out of the spare bed as I'd never get up off the floor.
Cate I'm a bit fed up with Social Services. they ask so many questions so maybe I was a tad miserable when she called but that is no way to treat clients. I was my usual self when she called but did make it clear stopping my money on a quick phone call was not acceptable.
Going to post this half because I've already lost one postNever be bullied into silence.

Just popped in for a cuppa before bed..
Cate has had a day doing nowt...same here apart fro half hour out..get that coffee machine unpacked then we can all try it..my youngest son and partner have one ...any excuse to go round there..
Joan I hope you are now more settled and can have a good weekend..and hope your freezer come very soon...is peppa any better..
Elizabeth..its awful how they make you wait for a decision on the carers money..hope it come through soon
Kath didnt know Robin went brighter when looking for a mate ...the little devil has already got one :balloon: good for you losing weight on steroids...
Im off to look what is in the biscuit tin..hope you all sleep well..xxxxxxLove

Toni, I keep enough in the bank in case I need it. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to wait for wages. I think it's because my boss has so much, he doesn't think some people don't have it. Hope you and Lucy have recovered from your day in Parliament. Looked and sounded like a great day to remember.
Barbara, oops, was I snoring. Sorry, hope I didn't keep anyone awake. My ex moved to Cornwall not long after we split up then he went to Spain then Dubai. He came back about 2 years ago and lives about a 10 minute walk from me. Hardly ever see him, only at my son's on the GC's birthdays. We're civil and I'll even say hello if we pass each other but I'd rather not. Only do it for my son and daughter's sakes. I've noticed my robin getting redder but not noticed any females.
Kath, how wonderful to like things from the 50s. Hope the 3 piece suite looks as good as the picture. 99p? What a fantastic bargain. Well done on the weight loss. Not easy on steroids.
Joan hope your weekend is improving.
Cate, hope you've had a good day doing nothing. I've not done anything much today either.
Elizabeth, I'm not surprised you are feeling fed up. You did right to tell them how you felt about the decision being made on the phone. It's not how it should be done.
Had a nice walk with Mango but got annoyed a couple of times. There are 2 places along the footpath at the park where we go which are covered in broken bottle glass and empty cigarette packets, takeaway boxes and sweet wrappers. I had to keep putting Mango back on the lead to make sure he didn't walk through the glass. On the way home, we had to squeeze past a car parked on the pavement. I stood on mango's paw and he yelped. The lady had just got in to the car so I made a fuss of him so she knew.Christine0 -
Morning all, bright sunny day here but windy and cold.
Son is going to finish off the bathroom tiling today and will paint the odds bits that need doing next week-end,be glad when its done.
Have a good day all Mig0 -
Morning everyone. It's the same here Mig. We've had the wind howling all night and it's still going. It'll lovely when your bathroom is done.
Just had breakfast in bed and having another cuppa before I get up.Christine0 -
I just deleted my post
Oh no
I think I said:
Mig I bet you will be glad to get your bathroom back :0 and it's sunny and cold here too, but now it's showered!!! sun still out :?
Christine You are right about your boss - those with do not understand those without. They never will because they haven't been there.
Poor Mango not being able to run free because of others' selfishness :x and I hope that lady DID realise how her parking affected you and poor Mango's poor. The thing with dogs is they forgive us don't they? Straight away
No breakfast in bed for me - up as usual with my back and in need of a chair for a while
Barbara's been in the biccy tin againI've brought some Jaffa cake bars and some galaxy cake bars too
I hope your robin soon finds a mate - how lovely to see his bright red chest
Not so good if you have a Daisycat
Elizabeth I didn't get caught taking piccies don't worry I was carefulIt was really beautiful and you could imagine decisions being made and debated centuries ago. You would love it.
I do hope your money is sorted sooner rather than later. Grrrr!!! What about those people who don't/can't stand up for themselves?
Cate pass me your box I'll open it for you......I get my pods in large quantities, but always look out for offers at supermarkets you can get your drinks so much cheaper that way
Once you've smelt that coffee brewing....you'll be hooked. BTW you can now buy the decaf carte noire for evening cuppas in shops not just from ta**imo direct.
Hi Joan - I do hope you are having a nice weekend and have sen some sunshine too
KathT 2lbs?!! Well that proves it's possible with you being on steroids. Lucy will be back on them for a week from Tuesday - that's the best week - I stuff her with food
1950's suite eh? If you can you'll have to post us a photoLucy loves 1950's stuff for her baking too  Doesn't really 'go' with my black granite, but still
Love to you all

Afternoon all
Same here very windy last night..but not to bad out only been to Ald** for more bird food...the pigeons are getting fatter by the min..
Christine is awful how people leave broken glass and other things around..are they doing it on purpose do you think..at least you are on speaking turns with your ex for the family sakes some people just don't care about these things...I don't ever remember having breakfast in bed...how lovely...' :balloon:
Toni I hope that back has eased up for you..its took some stress over the last year...thanks for the jaffa cake one of my favorites..I loved the dress that Lucy choose for the commons..could see what you was wearing...
Kath we used to collect the 1940s 50s..and have now sold quite a bit of it including a 1940s suite..with dropped down side...
Mig hope the bathroom gets finished I still have one half painted door here.,if he wants to pop round..
Just had the baby and her sister round..she is in a bad mood... the baby I mean ...the only things that helps is peppa pig...Love

Actually Barbara, I might have got it wrong about the Robin. Found this from the D***y M**l. It's a bit long, but very interesting and worth the read.
"It had been thought that the brightly coloured breast feathers simply allowed robins to defend their territory, with the mere sight of a flash of red feathers being enough to make a bird launch into a frenzied attack.
Badge: The distinctive red bid on the Robin allows potential mates to determine its gender and age
Badge: The distinctive red bid on the Robin allows potential mates to determine its gender and age
To learn more about the bird’s red breast, or ‘badge’, a team of Spanish researchers spent six years studying the robins that lived in and visited a pine forest near Barcelona.
After a bird was caught, it was placed gently on its back on a table and the outline of its red breast drawn on tracing paper.
The robins caught and measured ranged from young birds that had not long fledged to elderly males and females.
It was already known that a baby robin leaves the nest for the first time, it has a brownish breast.
In the coming weeks, it partially moults and the replacement feathers give it its first red glow.
The contrast between the old feathers and the new ones provide a clue to its youth.
But each summer thereafter, the robin sheds and renews all its feathers, making it very difficult to work out the age of an adult bird.
Similarly, it had been thought that male and female birds look identical.
Now it seems the answers could lie in the red breast.
The Spanish researchers’ measurements showed the amount of red plumage to increase between the first and second summers of life.
The size then shrank in females but remained steady in males, the journal Ibis reports.
The researchers, from the Spanish National Research Council, also analysed the ‘fringe’ of grey that borders the breast on three sides.
Chirpy: The friendly birds are a symbol of Christmas
Chirpy: The friendly birds are a symbol of Christmas
They showed that it got wider with age in the male birds but not the females.
Experiments showed that in very bright and very dim light, these feathers draw the eye to the red plumage.
The researchers said: ‘This suggests that the grey fringe could function as a frame to highlight the perimeter of the red breast.’
Dr Roger Jovani said that one of the few previous studies on the topic, carried out in the 1940s, had concluded that the red breast functions as a signal used to determine if a rival bird is also a robin, or a member of another species.
‘Our results suggest that the red breast could also provide important information regarding individual difference in terms of sex, age or related traits.
‘Thus, the extent of the red breast, together with the grey fringe, might be involved in sex recognition, mate choice and territorial contests.
‘In a fight context, a young bird may detect that the rival is older only by its red breast and thus try to avoid a serious confrontation.’"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Very interesting Kath thanks for looking it up, it is definitely very bright red so think this means its an older one..if I have read it right..bless.. its looks so tiny against the other one that come with it..and that one is not half has bright..so I think its got a younger girlfriend or a younger boyfriend ..depending on the sex....
hope you are doing okish kath...

Toni, how annoying losing your post. Yes, Mango was my best friend again seconds after I stood on his foot. Oh your poor back. Hope it hasn't bothered you too much today. I love the smell of coffee but it makes me feel sick when I drink it hot. Love it made with very cold milk though.
Barbara, I think it's teenagers who leave the broken glass and rubbish. They gather in the park in the evenings drinking and smoking. I have to get up and make my own breakfast and take it back to bed. I'm trying not to do it too much as I end up very stiff and lazy for the rest of the day. Wonder why the baby was in a mood. Peppa Pig works for my GD too.
Kath, that is very interesting. I didn't know any of that. Thanks for posting it.
My son is sorting things and getting rid of anything they don't want to take when they move house. He had cut up the big plastic swimming pool as it had a huge hole in it. His bin was full so he brought it round to put in mine. It is sticking out the top and there's a big bit next to the bin. Just hope the bin men will take it on Tuesday. :? The wind is still howling and we've had snow this afternoon. it didn't lay though.Christine0 -
Morning all..hailstone and wind here..
Glad Mango is friends with you..bless..they are so loyal..I think you deserve to have your breakfast in bed..but like you say its getting moving after.. the plastic pool are a prob to get rid of I think the girls have has a few over the years and they are put away and the mice chew them..when will your son move..hope it all goes smoothly for them..
Today I am painting the other half of the door..I will wear a mask..these sinuses are so stubborn and are building up as soon as I get up..but no probs in the night very odd...
I will get breakfast ready for anyone that pops in..but will have mine first..see you all later xxxxx

Morning Barbara,
Strong winds here too, although sunny. Hope you get your door done quickly. Fumes won't be good for your sinuses.
Just had FaceTime with my seventeen month old granddaughter. She's never still, must walk miles in the course of the day. When she's tired she just drops wherever she is, and falls asleep. Her daddy was exactly the same. I once found him asleep in the garden in the snow! She sang Twinkle Twinkle with me, then said bye bye, and trotted off again. People are now saying she is starting to look like me. I must admit I have always seen some resemblance, but didn't like to say anything in case it upset my daughter-in-law who can be a bit funny. The little un has one particular expression that says "I'm not daft you know"......it's like looking in the mirror. I love it when I can see and talk to them, but then I get sad that they are so far away. I envy friends who have their grandchildren close by.
Feeling much better today then I've done for a while, so the beds are available.
I think I'll have a bacon buttie, and a mug of builders.
Love to anyone who pops in......Cate.x0 -

Hello Barbara, Joan, Cate, Christine, and anyone else who might pop in.
Got a very sore mouth. Lips, tongue and my inner cheeks feel inflamed. Painful to eat anything, but when I drank my chicken cuppa soup, which I allowed to cool first, it soothed it.
Think I'll help myself to some of cate's builder's tea. Nice and strong and hot. Will have one jaffa cake with it.
Been very sunny but absolutely freezing here. No snow, although we were expecting wintry showers, we didn't get any.
Hope all are feeling not too bad."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Barbara, my son's house has only been up for sale for a week. They are keeping one eye on houses for sale but not looking properly until they have someone interested in theirs so not sure how long it will take. I've put the pool out next to the bin. Forgot it's not recycle week so not sure if they'll take it. I think you're right using a mask while doing the door. Can't be too careful.
Cate, isn't it great being able to talk to your GC like that? How far away are they? Fancy falling asleep in the snow. I know what you mean about being careful saying who they look like. I think I upset my daughter's inlaws by showing pictures of her when she was the age my GD is now. You could hardly tell the difference but my daughter's mil insisted my GD looked like her.
Joan, bet you are relieved to have your new freezer. It's a necessity these days.
Kath, sorry you've got a sore throat. Hope it eases soon. I find honey soothing either on it's own or in a hot drink.
Toni, hope you are rested now after your day out. Hope all goes well tomorrow. I'm sure it will.
It's been snowing on and off all day today but it's not laying thank goodness. I asked my boss for last week's wages. He looked very surprised and said did he not leave them for me on Friday. Think we have it tomorrow too then things should brighten up again. Think I'll have a builder's tea too. Are there any Jaffa cakes left? No. Ok who had more than one?Christine0 -
Morning all sunny here but it says snow later ,then warm towards the end of the week...I think :?
Kath I hope that mouth eases up for you soon..they can be blinking painful..sorry telling you something you know
Toni I remember when I first joined and came in the cafe and they were having builders tea..so it was Cris..I should have known..I hope all goes well for Lucy tomorrow..does it still make her poorly or have they got that under control...will be thinking about you both..not nice on you I know...xx
Christine..sorry I couldn't just have one jaffa I did try...I hope your son has a quick sale..things are moving on now with house sales we have has a couple nearby that sold within the first week...
we have not had snow but lots of hailstone and thunder..
Today OH is working so I will have to get something done..there are no buses nearby ,so have to rely on him or ring and ride..cant use Taxis because I cant sit in a lowish car, ours is quite high up ..and you never know what you get...
hope you all have a goodish day...xxxxxLove

sorry I never popped back to finish my post as a friend turned up needing a bit of company (girlfriend problems).
Itching has gone, I think because I am taking more care while showering but the coughing is very annoying at the moment. It keeps disturbing me.
My Daughter has got her first choice school so at least that is all done and dusted. Place has been accepted already incase I forget!
Fridge freezer man said it is unrepairable so I should be getting a replacement.
I need to go back to bed now and finish that sleep.
Love to you all and hopefully I'll be awake enough to return sometime.
Barbara hope your sinus troubles are easing.
Where is Toni off to today, I saw something but couldn't work it out with all the tiredness.
