Hello all
A Happy Birthday for tomorrow to TK
and a nice cup of spare tea to go with it
I also have chocolate cake (don't tell the others
) Glad you are having an ok day & best for a not-too-tired Sunday. Hope the possible carer turns out to be alright.
Kath that was a such a bargain your daughter got! I get the v occasional good buy but definitely the best things are to be had if you have a van/can go collect. I have a little cupboard not unlike the one the sewing machine is on.Doesn't it all go well. I do quite like retro but having been brought up with 60s & 70s stuff, not so keen on that now, but things of my grandparents I like better, old trunks etc as they can mix in with modern. Mainly I'd settle for emptying the house.. and then I might get in my version of your 'Office' (dining room in my case). Shouldn't the folic acid take take of mtx-caused mouth problems etc? Ought to. Even if they pass between times, it's not nice at all for you.
Joan I hope you can fit your haircut in when it's warmer. Barbara's must feel very nice. Hope you get a good day for your son's birthday (I think that's a lovely present too) and your GD's. Couldn't you get the cake stand out for either occasion?
Or are any gatherings not at 'yours'. Hope you had a nice time out wherever you got to. I'd love a hot cross bun thanks.
xx
Applerose I wouldn't have dared intervene between the dogs, but maybe if I saw it happen I automatically would go to help.. not sure. Not very good with dogs. Hope mango's teddy came out of the wash ok.I wonder if he senses he's on his way 'home'. I hope the chemical fire was not too bad for those nearby, even if you are able to stay in & close everything, it would be a worry what was hanging around - we had a recycling plant fire a little way away once & the advice about how dangerous the output was seemed very vague & not well handled. Wouldn't have liked it on the doorstep.
Cate, glad the coffee machine is living up to your hopes. I need a new kettle but keep reading such dreadful reviews for even quite pricey ones. I'll know 'your' machine comes well recommended if I ever think of getting one. Hope your family 'reunion' can all be sorted out and a warm April would be lovely. Lots of birds around and saw a little mouse in the garden today.(Typically, that was the 5 minutes in the garden that the postwoman knocked & went away with a parcel. )
Hope bubbles is alright; and no mig at the moment? Is she away or just slightly awol.
Toni I am going to read your link properly thank youand hope things are set for a restful Sunday for you. I am not too bad thanks just trying to set up a rheumy appt and then see what they say.
'night, toady xx0 -
Good Morning everyone
KathT I m so glad your mouth is healed for now. Lucy is so lucky she never gets a sore mouth despite MTX being one of her regular chemo meds - tablets and in the spine.
You posted a piccie of your hair once and it really suited you
That sofa is the spit of the one we used to have when I was little!!!! I LOVE it. If my parents were still here I would show them
ChristineA sad day today for you because Mango is going to start his journey home. Good for him once he arrives. I hope his teddy dried in time for him and that you both had a lovely last walk together.
With NO dangerous and scary dog fights
and then a freshening bath for him. THAT sounds like fun - NOT
Barbara baby is speaking now and almost in sentences?? Go her!!! Is she the youngest? My brother didn't bother to speak for ages because my sister and I met all his needs so he had no reason.
Lucy does have amazing eyes (like Andy's) - I did too though they've faded now and my Mum did when she was young. When she was a baby everyone loved her and felt broody when they saw her with her blonde hair and blue eyes. So far though her hair is brown. To be fair though it rarely sees the light of day so we'll see.
Hello Elizabeth!! The very happiest of Happy Birthdays to you (What a memory you have my Charley's is tomorrow and she will be 20  )
Lovely to have flowers from Charlie - I expect the other one will suddenly remember.
Such good news about there being a possible carer for Dan in time. It would be really good for him to get out a bit and even better for you so you can recharge your batteries.
I really don't like the sound of your cough - I hope you've had it checked out??
Love to you all

Hi all, Had to go away for a couple of days,a friend who i met online when we were doing family history research phoned to tell me her mum had passed away so we went down to london for the funeral. We all met when they came up to nottingham,we tramped round cemeteries and church yards,so though we had known each other for years we only actually met once as my friend lives in canada. So now I'm trying to recover after a hectic few days. Take care all Mig0

Hello Toni Mig Barbara Kathleen and anyone else who's in.
Toni I hope you all have a good weekend and Charley a lovely birthday.
Mig that was nice for you meeting your friend.
Barbara how are you feeling now. the time goes so quick your grand daughter speaking,
Kathleen sue has not walked since she was fifty they say that's why she as brittle bones she has not had a scan because she cannot get on the bed
she's had tabs but they caused bleeding so they were stopped.
I take a acid for osteoporosis I think the doctors not worried because she's not walking she cannot do any damage but she gets on her scoota but she's care full.

Thank you for my birthday wishes and the choccy cake.
Nice and quiet at the moment so having a tap on the laptop and waiting for charlie to arrive soon. Then we will have lunch at home and cake. I am happy that I will be able to take things easily as totally washed out these days. We have bought in the veg food for Charlie.
Happy 20th birthday to Charley for tomorrow! Its very close to mine so that is why I remember.
I never had mouth ulcers with mtx either but I know a lot of people do.
I've been watching crufts. Did you see the Dachshund's Joan? I was surprised to read that Greyhounds have won the overall award the most times.
Toady that is typical missing the postie. I almost missed my flowers. I heard a tap at the door, called Lucy to go downstairs (quicker than me) and she said there was no one there. He'd taken it to a neighbours house and was on his return back past our house so I asked him to go get it (which he did). He couldn't have waited long unless he first rang the non-working door bell?
As for kettles there aren't any good ones about (I read the reviews too) but we have a breville one cup, which I'm happy with.
Mig I'm sorry to read you've been to yet another funeral.
Applerose I think poor Mango will be confused. Just hope he can see the family on Skype to reassure him. How is your Dad?
Barbara I had a woodpecker a few years back. They are lovely. There's a very pretty mink coloured bird flying around, Rick says it looks like a collared dove.
Hope bubbles and cate have a lovely weekend too. hope I haven't missed anyone.

Took two new photos on my webcam. I can never get my eyes to look normal on there. Notice the nice set of chins and hamster cheeks courtesy to Prednisolone. :x
Elizabeth, I know it's a bit late, but Happy Birthday.
Joan, I know brittle bones can cause such problems, so I'm glad Sue is managing in her scooter.
Hope everyone had a good weekend, back to winter warmers tomorrow I think."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Hope you had a lovely day Elizabeth, happy Birthday xx Hi too, to Joan Toni Barbara Kathleen......I am sure I will have missed some, apologies if I did.
The "whatever it was" the other day, I think was a flare of fybro - it was like a ton of bricks and I could hardly walk a step by the end of the day, dosed up on tramadol, along with the usual pharmacy stock list I was in bed and there I stopped. The day after was better, which I am so grateful for. I don't think anything else is lurking, at present.
I will pinch a little chocolate Birthday cake and read back, everyone take lots of care, sun is shining after a wet start. Hope everyone is as ok as possible. XX BubblesXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Evening all
Elizabeth hope your daughter arrived safe and you had a good time..glad you got your flowers..some of the delivery people are quick off the mark
Kath you look lovely...my hairdresser is the same with steroids.not easy on the weight but has long as they help you......
bubbles sorry you have not been to good..this fibro things sounds awful, my rheumy mentioned it and gave me a leaflet on it..but I am sure |I don't have it..mind you I do have the memory fog..hope tomorrow is a good one
I have been using this netti pot to rinse out my sinuses they are not right yet..and I don't want to see an ear nose and throat person..so trying everything...very quiet here now..middle GD gone home...so have my feet up with a bowl of home made chips with tomato ketchup...
hope everyone's sleeps well..will leave the kettle on in case Christine pops in..is it today Mango goes to Scotland..
Love

Toady, I don't think Mango realised what was going on until my son turned up this morning and he got to sit in the car. They are still investigating the fire as no-one seems to know what was in the containers.
Toni, yes it was fun bathing Mango. Water everywhere. I was wet through.Happy 20th birthday to Charley for tomorrow.
Mig, it must have been good to meet up with your friend again but very sad circumstances.
Joan, hope you and Sue have had a good weekend.
Kath, you've done well with the photos. Mine never look good close up. The furniture looks in wonderful condition.
Bubbles, sorry you've been in so much pain. Glad it's eased now.
Barbara, I misread your post and thought you'd said you had your feet in a bowl of chips and ketchup.
Elizabeth, happy birthday. Hope you have had a lovely day with the family. How lovely to get a big bunch of flowers. Mango does hear my daughter on Skype. Not sure what he thinks as he howls. Just hope is doesn't upset him. My dad is really well now. he even seems to enjoy being in the home now. Much better than sitting on his own. Thanks for asking.
Mango's trip to Alnwick went well. He was pleased to see his gran and grandad and went off with them quite happily. It's so quiet here and I keep expecting him to bark to get in or out or to play. When we got back home, I went with my son and eldest GS and his friend and my youngest GD to the baths. I didn't go in but stood next to the pools watching. My GS spent most of the time jumping off the different boards and the little one kept asking to go on the big slide so my poor son must have climbed the stairs at least 10 times but she loved it.Christine0 -
Morning all
Christine I wounder how long it will take before mango lands in Aussie...all that way...no wounder it is quiet he sounded to be quite a character..
It was probably the way I type, sat with my feet in the chips and ketchup..I really enjoyed them
hope work goes ok today..
Well its suppose to get warmer..dont think I can remember a march this mild..I am suppose to go for a blood test to check for Vit D levels..it one were you take a ticket and wait...so will try after dinner because morning are horrendous...
Hope everyone has a goodish day...xxxxxxxLove
Barbara0 -
good luck with the blood test and sitting waiting for your turn Barbara. My blood test tomorrow is booked-they'd better not lose this one.
I bet it is quiet Applerose but at least he went off happy. I'm so glad your Dad is now settled in the home
My birthday was lovely. I was selfish and asked to have a quiet day, no little ones, I expect I'm not popular now. Charlie arrived about 1 o/c but she is no trouble and I love to see her. I complimented her on her Tshirt and turns out it had been one of mine which I passed on to her. It looks lovely on her but didn't on me! Charlie bought a beautiful home made cake, white chocolate and raspberries. My other D. phoned later and syas she hadn't forgotten but had a busy morning with a last minute radio show.
My bunch of pale pink roses are glorious. I keep admiring them. The loveliest flowers I've ever received.
I'm glad you are feeling better Bubbles. Fibro is awful.
Kath thank you for the birthday wishes. Your skin looks lovely and smooth in the pics.
Happy Birthday to Charley...have a lovely day

Hello everyone, hope nobody is suffering too much.
Joan, I upload my photos to Photobucket, then I use the Img button above the text box on here. Click on the photo link in Photobucket, and insert that in between the two Img markers. Toady had put an excellent tutorial on here.

Elizabeth, I'm glad you're birthday went well, lovely cakes and pink Roses. Gorgeous. Thank you for the complement. I think my fat cheeks are filling out all the wrinkles. :?
Barbara, hope your blood test goes well tomorrow. I have some too. One is the usual MTX check for rheumy, the other is for my chest consultant.
Christine, glad Mango's journey went off well.
Off to see what cakes are left, if none, biscuits will suffice. Especially if they're ginger biscuits."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Barbara, someone said we were going to have a heatwave. Well that didn't happen. It's not as cold but was overcast and drizzly all day. Hope you got your blood test done.

Joan, hope all is well with you and Sue and the dogs.
Kath, that does look like Mango. He bounces about like that too.Hope your blood tests go well too.

Hello all, what a lovely day. I hope you have all had a good day too.
Put this post on the birdwatching thread too, so sorry if you've had to read it twice. :? I went for my blood test at my local Health Centre today. Was absolutely delighted to see and hear a Blackbird perched atop of a lamppost. He was singing his little heart out and I felt I should reward him somehow, but had nothing for him. Totally surprised when we came out about half an hour or more later, to see and hear him still perched in the exact same spot, trilling away as though his life depended on it.
Joan, I only use the webcam for photos because it's so convenient. I loved the one of you and Sue that you shared.
Christine, what a lovely photo of Mango, yes he definitely looks like a bouncy dog.My blood tests went well, Phlebotomist managed to get the needle into my vein without hurting me, and no bruising either. No mean feat with me. I'm limited to which veins I can use. Can't use my left arm as I've had lymph nodes removed and am at risk of Lymphoedema. The one in the crook of my right elbow is difficult as I can't straighten that arm at all. Sometimes they have to take it from my knuckle.
Ouchy. But today she managed it easily, although she had to avoid a tendon in there to make sure she got the vein. :?
Barbara, I hope your blood test went well.
Just enjoying a beef and onion cuppa soup. I think I'm becoming addicted to cuppa soups of all flavours."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Hiya everyone,
I luffs that Mango. You will miss him so much Christine. I would dearly love a little dog. We always had one, but I keep reminding myself of the pain when they have to go to sleep. I couldn't go through that again.
Glad the blood tests are sorted Barbara and Kath. I always get worked up when I have to have one.
Joan, when you work out how to, will you show a picture of Pepper. He sounds lovely.
Belated Happy Birthday Elizabeth. You don't look a day over thirty!
I've just had two caramel macchiato's. Toni was right again, they are delicious, but I really have to start rationing myself. Trouble is, now I've tasted them, the others seem ordinary.
Just had one parcel marked 'Not to be opened until 15th'....exciting, but I'd rather have a hug. Oh well, they're all happy and healthy, so that's what matters.
I'm feeling the need of a fried egg buttie with brown sauce.....with a builders of course. I love Twinings English Breakfast tea, and it's half price at T*sco, so have stocked up.
Love to all, especially anyone I've missed.....Cate.x0 -
Joan, thank you. Mango is half Cocker Spaniel and half Spanish Water Dog. My daughter found him when he was about 4 weeks old lying in the middle of a dual carriageway in Spain.
Barbara, I think you deserved coffee and cake after having your bloods done. We had a bit of a heatwave today too. It was lovely.
Kath, I love listening to the blackbirds. Glad your blood tests went well. It's awful when they hurt.
Cate, I am missing Mango. I would like to have my own dog as I had dogs all my life till about 10 years ago, but I work all week and like to get out in the summer so it wouldn't be fair on a young dog. Mango is nearly 13 so he does sleep a lot.
Forgot to mention, I found some caramel macchiato ice cream lollies in Ald* the other day. Mmmmm. Ooh, a parcel. Is it your birthday on 15th? I think hugs are the best present. Wish I'd known the Twinings was half price. I was in T*sc* today but just for bread.
I don't have much luck with buses. I called in at T*sc* then got the bus to go in to town. It should have taken about 15 minutes but they must have changed the route as it went around another town and took 45 minutes. :roll:Christine0 -
Morning all sunny but says rain later...very cold
Cate Toni got me on the C Ms coffee..they are good and my youngest son and partner have a machine so I am sorted when I go there..
so the 15th is your birthday..there seems to be so many in March..hope you get the hugs soon...
Christine did you have to tell me about the lolly's..think I will go to Ald* today.....
How lovely of your daughter to save Mango like that..bless he would have died there on his own...no wounder he loves them...I am all tearful now...a 45 min journey is such a lot..our local bus I say local nowhere near me..changes sometimes and it takes forever
Thanks Kath the bloods are done and dusted..I do love the blackbirds..fancy it still being there when you came out..they do find there spots..they always say the simple things are free...I feel for you with the blood test...my mum had her lymph nodes removed and had swelling in her arm..hope the results are good
Right oh is off work so going out for a little while ,more sitting than walking but its fresh air..
I hope bubbles is doing ok...see you later xxxxxLove

It was lovely weather yesterday. I had my shower ready for my blood test and then went for a small drive followed by a W**trose shop. Unfortunately it killed my legs and now needing to recover. Obviously I'm not very fit!
What a start in life for Mango. I did love the photo. He's just as I imagined.
Like Cate I'm worried about having another pet as it is so difficult when they die. I have however just sponsored a rescue greyhound, which is the best I can do.
Applerose 15th is Mother's day although Cate may have a birthday same day. We are struggling to find a restaurant for our Mother's day meal as they are all fully booked.
Right respite day, time for a quick lunch and to tell OH the heating is on!Then a much needed sleep.

I remember one year when Charley was 2 Mother's day was on her birthday
Lovely day for a birthday for a Mother
It devastates me when we loose a loved pet, but what can you do?
I hope your legs recover soon Elizabeth :? I hope you sleep ok ((())) xxx
Yup Caramel macchiatos all round BarbaraGorgeous treat they are!!
I'm glad the bloods are done now you enjoy your walk
Christine I can tell your daughter has already been to hell and back with Mango I agree with Barbara no wonder she loves him so much. Maybe a cat is a better pet for you. I had Daisycat and Eric Catona before her because of work.
Mango looks soooo sweet
Cate that is the problem with those caramel macchiatos - must be a treat only!!! Shame you can't have a hug, but it's nice to be remembered anyway isn't it? You are right to be glad they are well and happy. I still count my blessings even though Lucy is fighting leukaemia we are much much luckier than plenty of others
KathT glad the bloods are doen and dusted. That blackbird must have been calling for a mate
I loved the photos you posted of YOU!!! Toady is right clever with photos
Joan I hope all is well with you, Sue and the doggies
I have been busy on f.book advertising Lucy's charity night next month. It's getting scarily close

Evening Toni, Elizabeth, Barbara, Christine, Cate, and anyone else who might call in. Hope everyone has had a good day. Definitely signs of spring arriving.
About time too.
Toni, Blackbird had found a nice patch of garden with a little hedge around. I hope he manages to find a nice lady Blackbird soon.
Elizabeth, it's awful when your legs go. Mine sometimes feel like lead weights.
Barbara, sorry to hear your mum had Lymphoedema. I've heard it can be very painful. I wear a pink bracelet with the legend: " Warning, this arm, no blood pressure, not needles. Lymphoedema Alert" or something like that. Although I have occasionally had to let them use it as the veins in my other arm go on strike now and then. :?
Christine, what a long journey. I bet you began to think you'd caught the wrong bus.
Cate, I wouldn't be able to wait until the specified date, I'd have to open it there and then. My DIL Nicola thinks I'm very naughty when I open my Christmas presents before Christmas.
I hope Joan and Sue are both feeling OK and managing to get a little sunshine. This weekend is supposed to be lovely weather, so I hope some of you manage to get out into the garden or on a day trip somewhere nice. Has Mig gone away somewhere? I can't remember. Sending everyone big gentle hugs. xx"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein
