Afternoon everyone. Just popped in for coffee, hope everyone is feeling a bit better. Looking forward for this weekend when the weather is supposed to improve.
Toni, hope Lucy's chemo went well, as we used to say when I was having it "with minimal side effects"."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Barbara, I've heard of a few houses round here selling within a week. One after 1 day. I've had a couple of estate agents leaflets through the door asking if I'd like an evaluation as they are desperately looking for houses. We've had quite a bit of rain but I didn't get caught in it.
Elizabeth, that's good for your daughter getting her place at school. It is a worry waiting to hear. Hope you get your freezer soon. These coughs can hang around for ages, can't they?
Kath, I've heard the weather is set to improve in the next couple of days. I think we've had enough snow and freezing weather now.
There have been a lot of posts on FB over the last week saying a white van is going round selling fish but they are really looking for dogs to steal. I've read that the police have checked it out and they are selling fish and there is no sign of any dogs. I used to leave his collar and lead in the porch but not now just in case. And I daren't leave him in the back garden more than a few minutes even though it would be difficult to get in to my garden. I've looked in to it and only 10 dogs have been stolen in the last 5 years from quite a large area so it's probably unlikely. Only got him till Sunday then he's off up north.Christine0 -
Just lost my post Toni!!!!

I was writing and listening to the football and now I'm cross as I'd written a lot.

Hello everyone, bright and sunny here today, but oh that freezing wind. :? Hope all are keeping as warm and as well as can be.
Elizabeth, my mouth isn't too bad today. It's a come day go day kind of thing. Never know when it's going to hit.
For those who lose posts, I sometimes (not always) have a text editor or word processor open, read a post, then type up reply in the WP or whatever I'm using, then copy and paste it into the forum. I know those who use a tablet won't be able to do this though. Just a thought.
Christine, although we didn't have any snow, or much rain, I'm certainly fed up of the cold, biting wind. :x
Can't remember if I mentioned that I'd received my 10mg Leflunomide and 25ml MTX. Well, I'm starting both tomorrow, don't know if the amended doses will make a difference. Hope so. :?
Hope that Joan and Sue are both well. Also hope that mig, coco, cate and bubbles are OK too.
Toni, how did Lucy get on?
I'm hungry - what a surprise. So just off to raid the fridge and cupboards and to check if there's an empty bed."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

How annoying losing your post, especially a long one. Hope you're getting enough rest.
Barbara, sounds as if you are still not right. Hope you and your daughter have sorted the world out.
Kath, I've thought about copying and pasting my posts but using the laptop mouse means I can only copy a tiny bot at a time. I've got a proper mouse but keep forgetting to look it out. Would make it easier. Hope the new doses of meds work for you.
Just making the arrangements to take Mango halfway to Edinburgh where his grandad is picking him up to take him the rest of the way. My son is driving us up. I'm going to wash his teddies and blankies tomorrow. Bath on Saturday ready for his trip on Sunday.Christine0 -
A late evening / early morning hello to one and all. Not been around for a few days, not quite sure, the days just seem to have flown past. I will have a read back and sit in the corner by the fire with Cuddles.

Morning all
Kath good think with the editor..I do sometime copy and paste..when I remember ..before I press submit in case i lose it..not much use in the middle of one though
Christine I wish I had a daughter it was my niece..she is 31 and still a kid at heart always wants to know what we have in the biscuit tin..we had a good chat...I am so proud of her she had her son at 17 and has made a good mum..she only has the one...and still with his dad..very unusual from that age..do you know its is making me dad that Mango is leaving...so you must feel it
bubbles don't worry about reading back ..I hope you are doing okish...think you fell asleep in one of the beds I could hear you snoring from here..
Well my head is not banging...never had a pain like it...but still coughing with it all ..so just need to get rid of that now...
Today OH is off work so we will be out somewhere...dull but mild...that will do..will leave the kettle on...

There's been a big accident so Dan's school transport was stuck. He was happy to get an extra sleep on the sofa but Rick has taken him in now.
Thursday is usually a better day for me, after 3 daytime sleeps I'm just about getting there. Rick has finally realised that I'm struggling and is helping out.
Bubbles I agree the days have flown past.
Christine I really will miss all the Mango news and hope he travels safely to his new home.
I'd still lose my posts if I copy and paste. Its usually me rushing and hitting enter instead of back space that is my problem but sometimes the post just disappears in front of my eyes.
you are on a high dose of mtx now Kath. Do you get the nausea? I was very pleased to stop taking it 2 years ago.
I'm still without humira as they lost my blood test results and I'm too tired to go to hospital and sit for hours in a queue so I booked with my usual GP service but there is always a bit of a wait.
Actually the hospital is right next to my Son's school so I could have gone along today but didn't think about it!
thanks Barbara. I couldn't face an appeal or more form filling so its all sorted and only her new uniform to worry about in the Summer hols.
I don't understand why anyone buys a dog with so many needing rehoming.
I'm chuffed about the itching as it was driving me mad and had scabs all over arms and legs and stomach. Sometimes I react after the humira injection but then, as previously mentioned, I haven't had any for a few months now.
Hoping my Charlie comes for my birthday. she usually does but not heard from her yet.
Take care all, hope Toady gets to pop in, Joan is coping and Toni has more fun days out after all she's been through it is what she deserves.

Morning bubbles. I think the days fly past too. It's a bit scary at times. There's such a lot to read so don't worry about catching up. As long as you are doing ok.
Barbara, I don't know why I put daughter. I knew it was your niece and it was in my head to put that. I do worry myself sometimes. She has done well. Not many stay together from so young, especially with a child, as you say. Glad your head is better. Hope the cough goes soon too. I am a bit sad that Mango is going but I know he will be happy once he's back with his family. They are missing him terribly. Have a good day out wherever you end up.
Elizabeth, hope no-one was injured in the accident. At least Dan had a sleep-in and got to school. Hope Rick keeps up with the help now he knows you need it. I am a bit worried about Mango flying but I'll relax once I hear he has arrived. I'm sure I'll get news of him from my daughter. It is a trek to go to hospital for blood tests. I'm glad my GP surgery has said I can go there to have them done now. I'm sure Charley will come for your birthday.
Looking very overcast today but we have been told the weather will be good by the weekend. Think I'll have a cuppa at the window while I decide what to do this morning.Christine0 -
Hello everyone
Christine I hope Mango has a good journey he will miss you.
Elizabeth I hope you get your freezer soon it's difficult without out one.
Barbara have a good day out.
Bubbles I hope you have had a good day.
Kathleen I hope your mouth is now getting better.
I would like it too be a bit warmer with less wind Sue has her leg e-rayed tomorrow.

You are right, reading back ends up in a muddle........even more so when you are half baked. Snoring? Oh dear Barbara, I will have to be tipped on my side.
I cannot decide if I am getting a chest infection or not, feels out of sorts and every damned joint is hurting like hell, so loaded up with Tramadol on top of everything else  You wait, it will start in earnest at the week end.
Looking forward to my nap, I forced myself to do a little ironing, just to keep moving. If I sit, I will set.
Everyone take lots of care, weather seems to be warming a little, our peonies have long shoots on them already.
I will take a cake and hide under the duvet, if I snore, wake me up. Thanks. XX BubblesXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Hi all
not noticeably warmer here, I wouldn't say. As it was meant to get better as the week went on, so there's not much of it left now - but should be soon. Mind you, I caught myself complaining yesterday that it was too sunny (couldn't see the screen) - how ungrateful.
Glad barbara is improving. it seems.. and has been painting.. meant to get on with some yesterday but cat visitor decided to come in & sleep so didn't want to disturb him.
Sorry Kath's mouth is playing upyou can't even take your mind off it very well, hope it settles. And hope the new doses of med combo have gone ok today Thanks for the interesting robin info. My 'pair' are neither all that bright red, so maybe they have settled into marital inertia and can't be bothered looking for new other halves.
Your poor post TK, oh it's annoying. I do it with e*ay listings. Sorry you've had the blood test runaround to do, it's a good job you have 2 options of getting them taken, I do worry I might have to go further afield for mine one day if anything changes (and things always do sooner or later). Pleased to hear the soc services issue seems under control & that your daughter has got into her preferred school
*waves little Mango off on his travels* hope everything goes well at all stages of the trip (Sunday you say, applerose). Glad the dog van story turned out to be a bit.. fishy.. horrid ideadon't suppose the poor van people are thrilled having all sorts alleged about them. Everyone feeling muddled and half baked would probably like to hear that I was making tea for myself & a visitor yesterday, and just because I'd washed and lined up a row of four cups, started making four teas. Must have thought I was in here.
Looks like I have missed jaffa cakes but I bring custard creams from today's grocery shop so will see if I can bribe bubbles for a share of Cuddles. Hope that is not a chest infection starting. xx
Glad to see Cate was feeling better when last seen, keep it up, it will help with any overcrowding.May have a small nap if there's still a bed free. I don't snore but I will probably wake up and tell you long uninteresting dreams.
Joan, hope it does warm up soon for you and that Sue's x-ray tomorrow is straightforward. Hope the freezer is up & running alright.
I have been amusing myself today putting together a few e*ay 'collections' (mostly other peoples things & just the odd one of mine), which no doubt no-one will ever see & will increase my sales by precisely 0%but I enjoyed it, anyway. There is toooo much stuff out there though, no doubt about it.
Kettle on, toady. xxx0 -
Joan, hope Sue's x-ray shows all is properly healed.
Bubbles, I hope you don't have a chest infection. Well done on doing the ironing. Not easy when you feel ill. Nudge nudge. Wakey wakey.
Toady I have found the sun very bright. I close the blinds so I can see the screen. Yes, Toady, Mango goes to Fife on Sunday. He's staying there till the end of April to get all his jabs and tests done then he's setting off for Melbourne on 28th April. I'll take one of those cups of tea off you. I'm ready for one.
Someone mentioned there was a lot of black smoke in the next town. A couple of hours later, I set off for work and could see it in the distance. I found out later that a chemical factory was on fire. It took 67 firemen about 3 hours to put it out. On the way home, a neighbours dog ran out of the house a little way in front of me and started fighting with 2 dogs who were being taken for a walk. I tried to speed up, shopping bag at the ready to try and get it in between them but fortunately, the owner of the loose dog managed to call it off. Think I've had enough excitement for one day.Christine0 -
Hello everyone. Lovely and sunny here, and slightly milder - but we still have the halogen heater on in the spare bedroom I laughingly call 'My Office'!
Started my new doses of meds yesterday. Also monitoring my sore mouth. It's been OK for a couple of days, but noticed in my diary the last time it began on a Saturday, two days after MTX injection, so watching and waiting now.
Christine, you do live dangerously, mediating between fighting dogs - whatever next. Good job one of the owners intervened.
Toady, thank you for the custard creams. Lovely dunked in a lovely cup of redbush tea, or green tea - hmm, don't know which to have now!
bubbles, hope you're not leaving crumbs in that bed, I might need it next. Sorry to hear you are in pain and not feeling well.
Joan, hope all goes well with Sue's x-ray tomorrow. Keeping warm is very difficult when the wind is as biting as it has been. The sun makes it look deceptively warm when indoors looking through the window. :?
Elizabeth, I do sometimes feel a little queasy for a short while after my MTX injection. Shouldn't really, I think it might be psychological. How are you coping with Humira? I only have a blood test at the hospital when I have an appointment there. The rest of the time they are done at my GP's surgery. We have a phlebotomist, but sometimes the practise nurse or HCA do it.
Right, time for a couple or 6 custard creams with my cuppa. Decided on builders again. Then to hunt for an empty bed."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Hello everyone, lovely day and fairly mild too. I read that April is going to be really warm, but I won't hold my breath. Will be nice if it is though, as my sons are trying to work it so that they all get home together around then. That would be wonderful to have all three granddaughters here at the same time.
Well Toni was right about the coffee machine. It's brilliant! I'll need to start rationing myself though, as the pods are quite pricey. I've put some Cadbury's chocolate ones on my T*sco order, as a lot of the reviews raved about them.
Right, I've brought a large crusty loaf, best butter, and some lime curd to make doorsteps, and have with a builders. Tuck in.
I hope those teetering on the edge of something - particularly Toady and Bubbles - manage to shake it off, and everyone has a good weekend.......Cate.x0 -
Hello everyone
Joan it IS cold maybe too cold for haircuts!! Hope Sue is taking care - you too
Yes Barbara are you properly better yet yourself???
Cate you watch that coffee machine!! It's addictiveI like the suchard hot choc it's so smooth
I do hope your boys do all make it over easter and you have all the Grandchildren there together

Christine does Mango go to Fyfe without you??Oh no
You will miss each other. My sister lives in Fyfe.
Hope Toady is doing ok and enjoying the sun (not on the screen) and Elizabeth too - she wasn't great last time she was on. Bubbles as well. I hoe I haven't forgotten anyone

Right, I'm going to sit by the window with a cuppa and see if I can remember what I said last night.
Kath, I'll keep my fingers crossed that your mouth clears up and doesn't get worse again. Thinking about it now, it probably wasn't the best ides to put my bag in between the dogs. Just as well the owner managed to call hers off. Did you sleep in the cafe last night?
Barbara, happy new hairdo. Mine's annoying me now so might get it done soon. I wasn't thinking about maybe me getting injured by the dogs. i just don't like seeing it and wanted to stop it. Just as well the loose dog ran back home when his owner shouted him. It was only last week when Mango had his nose bitten when he said hello to a another dog. My daughter and her family can't wait to have him back. Not too long now. I had to laugh when you mentioned the customers in the cafe. All of us in bed and them not having anywhere to sit.The bracelet for your son sound lovely. The youngsters like the money don't they? At least they get what they want with it. So we're all invited to yours for cakes on your cake stand. Hope you enjoy your trip out today.
Joan, I don't blame you leaving your hair a while longer. I was going to leave mine too but it's at that stage when it becomes annoying. Hope you are ok and Sue is taking care with her leg.
Cate, that will be wonderful if your sons and GDS can all get together with you. Mmmmm, crusty bread with thick butter.
Toni, yes Mango is going without me. My sonil's dad lives in Kelty. He is picking him up from us halfway tomorrow morning. At least he's on his way back to his family. I read the article on your thread. Great picture of Lucy and Fiona and good what the trust are doing.
Mango's teddy is in the washing machine as we speak. Hope he dries quickly. It looks a bit overcast here and very windy. Hope the rain doesn't start as I want to take Mango for a long walk then bath him ready for tomorrow. That should be fun as he doesn't like the bath. He'll try to hide but will go upstairs when he's told. Then it will be a case of stopping him from jumping out of the bath. Then I'll have to hide behind a towel while he shakes the water off.Christine0 -
Hello everyone, hope you are having a good weekend. Sunny but cold here.
Mouth is now better - until the next time. Stomach ache and nausea also gone, but not forgotten.
Christine, no I didn't sleep in the cafe, too much snoring going on.
Barbara, I love to keep my hair really short now. I usually have a number 4 cut, but last time I had a number 3 as it grows so fast. Not at all girly, but then I'm not really a girly gal.Beautiful photo of Lucy and her friend.
Cate, you temptress. Crusty loaf and best butter. How can I resist. Tastes better knowing there are no calories, so I will add a huge dollop of lime curd. SLURP. :P
Joan, so sorry to hear about Sue's brittle bones. Have they given her something to protect them, or was she already taking something for that?
Toady - if you pop in, here is a photo of my daughter Emily's 99p settee and matching chair. She sent me photos of her "Retro House" today. I'm so jealous, it looks fantastic.
Right, down to this crusty loaf with a mug of coffee I think. Thank cate."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Lol Toady I'll have one of those spare cuppas. I do things like this but usually because I'm talking and not concentrating.
I woke up feeling awful but after some more rest and some pills I started to recover but then had to get up to watch Daniel. Now I'm in that nice, gentle, don't know what is going on moods.
I have received some beautiful pink roses and yes Charlie is coming tomorrow. Think my other Daughter has forgotten as not received a card from her!
Happy 40th to your Son (what a lovely present) and 14th to GD. Bet she will want clothes. Think it is Toni's Daughter b'day too?
Kath it is common to get mouth ulcers with mtx, I remember now. It is because they lower your immunity. The mtx is well known for giving you nausea.
I love humira but thought it was causing the coughing so I take regular breaks but now I'm not so sure as the coughing has ot worse and I've not ad humira for a while. I'm coughing most of the time and every time I turn over in bed it starts again. At least the itching has stopped. My blood test is on Tuesday and I see rheummy next week.
I had yet another visit from carer agency and think I might be getting someone to take Dan on a regular basis (after an introduction).
Applerose you are brave,Don't think I'd get involved in a dog fight! I imagine the owner has to have more control and be 'pack leader'!
Better post before the gremlins get my post...
