Morning Joan, and anyone else who pops in.

I was going to buy a lightweight buggy for when either of the two youngest grandgirlies are here, to save my sons lugging their all singing, all dancing versions. A friend told me that there was one on Freecycle. Sounded just the job so I emailed the lady. She actually brought it here for me....and it's like new! I'm so pleased, but not sure what one of my daughters-in-law's reaction will be. She can be a bit precious. Maybe I'll forget to mention where it came from. Those senior moments can be very useful at times.

I have now lost four and a half stones, so am going to Morrisons with my friend, and having the biggest All Day Breakfast that they do, followed by a massive cream cake. I'll probably make myself sick, but am I bovvered? No way.

    Love to you all......Cate.x

Hello all my lovely cafe friends. Got home at lunch time, but it's taken time to readjust to being here instead of my lovely (but tiny) side ward. I couldn't leave it at all as I was on oxygen for about 10 days. They gave me a long piece of tubing so I could reach my toilet so I at least didn't have the indignity of having to buzz for a commode. Although in the beginning I couldn't get out of bed so needed a commode anyway. The first IV antibiotic (Tazocin, my usual tipple) didn't work, so they changed it for another. Anyway, home now, so hopefully recovery won't take too long. Thank you for all your good wishes. :D

Barbara, how frustrating. Them not telling you about the blood test then moaning at you for not going.

cate, wow, 41/2 stone. Go spoil yourself.

Joan, thank you for your kind thoughts. Hope you are keeping as well, in spite of the seemingly never ending rain. :o

Christine, I don't know what Japanese mirin is either, but it sounds expensive and STICKY. Fortunately I had a postal vote and sorted it out before my little trip. OH posted it for me.

mig, you made me laugh by linking me with rumple thumps. Wish I knew what they are too. And I notice I'm mentioned after the dog.:lol::lol:

Elizabeth, yes I was going stir crazy. 15 days all together with about 10 of them confined to my room due to being tethered by the oxygen - ARGH!!

So if I sound a bit gaga, apologies. I'm sure you will sort me out eventually.

Joan, I hope you've got better weather than we have here. It's raining quite heavily and we have big puddles in the roads.

Cate, you can't get a better bargain than that. Freecycle is great at times. It's silly to throw things out when there is still a lot of life in them. You certainly deserve a big breakfast and cake. Hope you enjoyed them.

Just as well your GP was on the ball Barbara. Bit of a pain for you though having to go and get the paperwork and then get your blood taken. I got clothes on the line this morning then managed to get back from visiting dad just before teatime before the heavens opened here. Great big puddles in the roads now. My dil's mum and I sometimes find lovely dresses for our youngest GD in charity shops. Don't find anything much for the older ones though.

Great to see you back Kath. Hope you are feeling much better now. Not surprised you were stir crazy, not being able to leave your room.

Japanese mirin is a type of rice wine vinegar. I add it to shushi rice when I make shushi. Just realised I forgot to buy more while I was at the supermarket.

We've still got the same MP. I think he's good but didn't want hos party running the country. We needed 11 town councillors. The ones who were in fought with each other a lot. There was almost a punch-up at one meeting. Unfortunately, most of them got back in with a couple of others who I know like a good battle so those meetings should be fun.

Got quite a shock at work. My boss came to me and said he wanted to talk about money. He said he was giving me a pay rise as he felt it had been a while since I'd had one. I didn't remind him that he'd given me a rise in October.

I think the weather is set to improve over the weekend so hope you all enjoy it.

Kath :D:D was just passing and did a double take  allow me to hastily chuck a little bunting up and get out the good crockery. Maybe even a tablecloth.

Lovely to see you back and feeling up to posting, and far from gaga. :D

Will see everyone else soon, have just woken up from a nap I didn't mean to take, so I am 'half cut' myself  xx

I am sure our councilor. hasn't changed .. I certainly didn't vote for them...
Right better get breakfast going then we can build our Kath up...the bed is made up but suppose she has had enough of them.. :o

Hope you feel ok today, Toady, after feeling half cut yesterday.

Barbara, my dad is fine now. hasn't mentioned his lady friend since I met her a few weeks ago. Think he might have forgotten her. :? I'm just waiting for the catch after getting my wage rise.

I've replied on your post Toni. I think Lucy is wonderful. Dr Tim looks like a lovely person. Hope you're ok now that bit's done.

Joan, as I said to Barbara, I'm waiting for the catch after getting my pay rise. Hope you and Sue are having a good weekend.

I've spent nearly all day photocopying my cousin's family tree papers. Lots of birth/marriage/death certificates. And a couple of photos - one of my grandmother who dies before my mum and dad met. I haven't quite worked out who's who but everyone is spread out all over England and Wales and there's a mayor of Dublin. I tried looking for some of them on Find My Past but according to them, none of my dad's family exist.

Christine those photos sound really interesting - if confusing.

Sadly I am now the keeper of our family photos and my Mum died before we could label everything so it's not easy.

I'm fine thanks just glad Lucy has got her 'body back' (as she feels) and Dr Tim is lovely :)

Joan my poor washing machine worked like mad yesterday!! hehehe!

I hope you are all having a good weekend too :)

Cate I hope you had a lovely trip out and enjoy that food you deserve it. That weight loss is phenomenal!!!

Hoping everyone is ok today - Elizabeth, Barbara, mig, Kath( :? )Toady and anyone else I missed

Same here Toni. I have a big box full of photos from mum and dad, most unlabeled, still to work though. Hope Lucy is ok today and you are all enjoying the sun.

Kath posted on FB. She has done a little housework (naughty girl) but is glad to be home. Hope you are taking it easy today Kath.

It was raining when I woke up but the sun is trying hard to come out. Hope you are all having a good weekend with some sun.

    Hello everyone,

I'm not naughty really, OH is allowing me to do the bare minimum housework, a little light dusting. He's doing the bulk of it as always, cooking cleaning, washing, shopping - oh just typing it in has worn me out. Sleeping very well and even had a nap this morning after lunch.

Thank you all for your lovely welcome back and kind comments. This is me at the moment:

    g030.gif

    and don't worry, that's how I'll be for a while yet. :)

Hope everyone is as well as can be and Joan - I shall be taking your advice very seriously. Hope you and Sue have a good day. :D

It does make it very difficult, Barbara, when so many have the same name. I did a search online this morning for one name to find over 2000 of them. :? It's a good idea to have a back-up for washing clothes. Hope the baby isn't too bad. I'm sure she will improve a lot once her tonsils are out. My youngest GD had been poorly this morning but was fine when I went there this afternoon. Bouncing on the trampoline and mending her poor dolly's head every few minutes when she dropped her.

Kath, no you're not really naughty. It can get boring not doing anything at all. Your OH sounds wonderful doing all the housework. Can you send him round here please once he's finished yours.

Did you and Sue manage to get out at all over the weekend, Joan?

Mango is now back with his family. My daughter said it's just as if they've never been apart. They took him to the park then to the beach although it was cold and raining. Everyone had to wrap up but Mango had a great time in the sea.

Christine thank you for the update on Mango!! I am so happy to hear that her is settled and need never be apart from his family again :) Lucy was ok, but those weekend's prophylactic antibiotics do make her feel a bit queasy :(

Kath :) Lovely to see you!!!!!!!!! I am so pleased you are home and think you are right to move about a bit - don't want any other complications. So long as you're not doing windows/bed-making/lifting furniture yet ;)

    Joan
hello and I hope you Sue and doggies had a good weekend :)

Barbara I hope the baby is ok? Such a worry when they are tiny and not well isn't it? Glad you had a pud meal and no need for you to cook when you got home ;)

Hope everyone else is ok :?

    hello all,

keep trying to catch up with posts. Everyone seems to be reasonably well thank goodness. Good to hear that Joan and Sue enjoyed their weekend out on scooters, and that mango has finally reached home safely. :D

I'm off out for a proper shop tomorrow. I will be allowed to carry one small bag with light items in it. Salt free crisps, TV magazine. That sort of thing.

I ordered a finger pulse oximeter last night, from the store in the Jungle. It arrived this morning. That will reassure me if I ever feel breathless.

    oximeter_zpsa6csfjja.jpg

I'm normally around 95/7%, so I can keep check that it doesn't drop below 88%. In hospital it was 84%!!

Today we had around 50+ starlings (I kid you not) zooming around our tiny garden, scoffing all the food OH had put down for the smaller birds. We didn't see any blue/great tits or blackbirds. The only other visitors were 2 pigeons. I wasn't very happy. :x

I've just stood up to find I've been sitting on a squashed blueberry (I had some earlier) so now have a dark blue stain on my bum. I'm wearing cream jeans. Not very happy about that either.

    Take care everyone. xx

    Just a quick hello...

I haven't welcomed you back yet Kath. So pleased you are home and recovering.
And Mango is back with the family and splashing in the sea...how lovely.

As you can imagine I'm a bit fragile after hearing about my poor friend dying over the weekend. I don't know the circumstances but she has been in a wheelchair for many years now (after a stroke). We were friends long before we both became ill and we both had a child that needed care, although her Daughter sadly died. so pretty much a cr*p weekend all round.

So it has been lovely to come online and read about Barbara's window cleaning and Christine's unexpected pay rise!
I'll be watching 24 hours back in time (or something like that) just to cheer me up. What a life they endured!

Love and hot coffee to all....
