Kath and Aiden thanks I am sure knowing we are here is helping Toni a lot..she also said they are getting her a Z bed to sleep on.. :)

Hi Kath, Hi Barbara and all who are here in the far corners of the cloak, it goes on for ever, so people get lost if you are not careful.

Oh, thank you for keeping us all in the loop, while under the cloak. Good to hear the surgery went well and that Lucy is sleeping. We are all relieved, as I can imagine you are Toni, that the surgery went well and the staff are looking after Lucy and you all, very well. We would not have it any other way.
I think we all need cake, Toni will need something sweet and reviving, so I nipped out and bought this one.

Thought I had better try a slice, just to make sure it was ok.

Many hugs and blessings, thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Hi to all, Carol, Kerrin, Christine, Barbara, Mig, Joan, Elizabeth, Toni and Lucy, Kath and anyone I may have missed.

Good that Toni is now in charge of nursing, alongside the rest of the team, looking after Lucy.

    photo145267.jpg

From all of us. I have lost barbara inside the cape, it's so big and once you get near the edges, you vanish.

We will remain in hiding, keeping an eye. There are a couple of beds in here, inflatable ones. I will sneak out and go get more cake, if you hear crutches clicking, it's me :) Have we spotted the nurse with the quiff?
Hope the staff are being wonderful and Lucy is mending, slowly.

Just a quick visit, leaving hugs to one and all. Glad you electrics are all but done now Barbara. Hi Christine, hope you are ok.

Everyone take care, rest well. XXX Aidan

    Hi everyone

Sorry I've been missing for a few days. Been doing my best to avoid the lurgy that's doing the rounds at school. So far been ok, just had a mild cold which for me who normally picks up every cold is great.

Fingers are a bit sore this morning. And just as I thought they were improving. The result of using them too much yesterday. Need to try go swimming tonight as bunked off the last two sessions.

Hugs to Lucy. Tom and Jerry were under the cloak and lent out a helpful paw.

Toni, I hope Lucy is feeling ok this morning and not in too much pain. And hope you are managing to get some sleep. (((hugs)))

Barbara you must be glad the elecs have finished now. Thanks for keeping us up to date about Lucy.

Aiden, thanks for keeping us all topped up with cake. We will indeed stay under the cloak and keeping an eye on Lucy for a bit longer.

Kerrin, glad you only had a mild cold. I've only had mild colds for the last few years but had a more 'normal' cold this last week or so. Just coming out the other side. My fingers are quite bad at the moment. I think it's the cold getting in to my joints. Hope yours are feeling a bit better today.

Joan, my eyes have been a bit worse again over the last few days. More dots and waves floating about. There's nothing much I can do about it unless they get much worse. Hope you are keeping warm now.

It's very white outside this morning with frost and the sun is shining very brightly. Hope everyone takes care on the roads. I've finally got my Christmas jigsaw box on the table. Might get round to starting it sometime. :animal_busy:

morning all, hoping Lucy had a fairly good night, you too Toni, although sleeping in hospital is always a challenge at the best of times. Bells and whistles and trolleys.............. I am sure Lucy will be very sore, now that all the anaesthetic has worn off, plenty of pain relief on offer - I will have to peep at the chart.

We are all still there, cloaked and rather warm, do we have AC in here? lol.

Diddicat popped by and said she had been keeping an eye too, but was otherwise :animal_busy: much like our three at the moment.

Hi Kerrin, hope you hands feel better soon, maybe the swim will ease things a little. You are doing well, avoiding all the bugs that are lurking.

Hi Joan, I trust you heating will be mended today, you have had enough trouble with the heating now, we need to keep you all nice and warm.

Hi Christine, your fingers are sore too, we all need to go to Thalassotherapy pools and sit in lovely warm waters, with massage jets and bubbles - oh, bubbles, nice to see me :lol:
Sorry your eyes are not too good, is there a plan of action should they get worse, which I hope they don't?
The jigsaw might be done for Easter, no rush, it won't go anywhere :)

Do we need more cake? Yes, of course we do.

That will be very nice, the fruit will counteract the tons of cream lol.

Hugs to everyone who are busy about. Take care, till later XXXX Aidan

Oh lots of luvverley cakes, don't mind if I do. All the worry about Lucy has brought back the hungry munchies as we called it when I was having chemo.

Kerrin, working in a school when on MTX is rather fraught, the school I worked at was for special needs. Toilet duties swathed in rubber gloves, aprons and face masks was fairly sweaty, even with the air con on.

Thank you Joan, my hip has been a bit gyppy recently. No walking today, hope to hit the Long Eaton trail tomorrow. Prayers and a spot of Bible reading should help.

    Hi to one and all
Sorry I have been AWOL all afternoon and evening. Our phone and internet have now gone off, duly reported to Openreach, via SKY, who said that there is a problem from the exchange (you don't say). :x Could take up to 72 hours to fix, but usually quicker.

Anyway, it is our turn to piggy back on our neighbours internet - de ja vous or what. They were on ours last week..............

Now my mobile has pink lines appeared on the screen.............at least it is under warranty............never rains eh. All a bit chaotic this evening.

Thank you for the updates Barbara, I am so pleased that Lucy is able to mobilise her shoulder and will be doing the exercises on a regular basis. Strong lady and then some. Toni, I hope you are doing ok as well, been thinking of you both.

Hi to everyone else too, sorry I cannot stop on long tonight, back is a bit shouty. It is nice and cosy in the cloak, everyone get nice and comfy and I will make some hot chocolate.

Love and hugs, gentle ones. Everyone take lots of care XXXX Aidan

Thank you Barbara for updating us about Lucy's progress. She is tremendous and so is Toni. They are real heroines. :D

Joan, my hip only hurts a lot when I sit down. Ben a decent walk and a bus ride today, and I haven't felt too bad. But after I got back and sat down, I got rather ouchy. Definitely Osteoarthritis methinks.

Hope puss cats and doggies are all snug.

Yaaaay, Lucy and Toni are home. That is good news. Thank you for keeping us up to date Barbara. We are all proud of Lucy.

Aiden, Thalassotherapy sounds lovely. I'm sure we could all do with it. The optician told me to keep an eye out (sorry  ) for patches of sight going. If that happens, I have to go straight to A&E or a big increase in wavy lines and I'll go for another eye test. I've taken all the straight edges of the jigsaw out of the box and put a few together so I've started. It might well be Easter before it's finished. So you are now piggybacking on your neighbour's internet. Hope you get yours back soon.

Kath, sorry your hip has been playing up. Probably best to rest it a bit but glad you managed to get out and about today. Did you do the Long Eaton trail?

Barbara, maybe you can do an Easter jigsaw instead of a Christmas jigsaw. Think that's what mine will be. I've got the edges out and put a few together.

Joan, hope your heating is sorted out soon. It's been playing up for too long. Hope the doggies are well.

Got all my ironing done and put away. Wasn't as much as I thought considering it was 3 weeks worth. Most things didn't need ironing. It looked lovely and sunny outside so I went out for a walk. Didn't go far as it was freezing. It did clear a bit of a headache though. Typed up some of my notes from the last course I did and got them printed off. Want to get that finished before I start another one.

My fuel tariff is about to come to an end so I wanted to check on a new one. I clicked on the link to see the information about what I'd used during the last year but it only showed the year before. Took about half an hour talking to someone online before they realised what I was talking about and she refreshed the page. Have to check tomorrow to see if the new information is there.

Better have a catch up, or I will be told off by our wonderful PA. :)

Fab news that Lucy is now home, Mum will be nursing very cqapably and assisting as required with Lucy on the mend and doing her physio. Thrilled that Lucy is home.
The bed is now marked as occupied on the ward, we have had to soundproof the side room as the tv is so big. Nurse Gladys and Duffy are on duty.

Total admiration, as you say Barbara. I will pop the cloak back in the store cupboard and give it an airing tomorrow. Good that we could all be there to offer our support from a distance. It counts, just the same. Pepe sends his regards and will catch up with Diddicat asap.

Our Internet and phone are now re connected, they were both back on when we came in at lunchtime. So that wasn't as bad as we thought it might be.
My phone I have to send back for repair, replacement, as it is under warranty still. I will be SO lost without it. Takes about 3-4 days once they receive it. The phone is the only thing that knows what we are doing :?

Kath, I hope your hip is less painful, I can sympathise with things being more painful when sitting. I am often better pottering about. I see you are off on your travels and walks, all credit to you.
Pus cats are all :animal_busy: at the moment.

Joan, I hope you are managing to keep warm and that your heating is working as it should be. Love to you and Sue and fusses to the lovely doggies.

Hi Christine let's hope you don't have any more deterioration with your sight, it is worrying I am sure. I have diabetic retinopathy, so I have to have checks every year, or sooner if things change.

They used to offer thalassotherapy on prescription when we lived in France, all you paid for was the accommodation, all the treatments and spa's where free. We wanted to go, but we didn't want to leave the cats. I remember our GP there, offered us the use of her chalet in the Pyrenees for a relaxation break. She was lovely. So kind.

It has been a beautiful day, I said "oh I won't wear my coat" this morning when we went to the G center - I was frozen. Took me two coffee's and a scone, to thaw out.

Do you know what your next course will be, or have you not decided yet?

Hope your information appears on the computer today.

Hi to Carol, Mig, Elizabeth, Kerrin and all. Hope all are as well as can be and taking care.
Right, I had better check that the ward is running like clockwork and Lucy is being uber well cared for :) I will only peep, don't want to wake anyone.

    Many hugs, XXXX Aidan

    Good morning everyone :)

Thank you all so much for thinking of Lucy praying for her and to Barbara for being my pigeon and updating you all so well :) I promise to read back later so I know what is going on!

Lucy is now safely in the café ward fast asleep. She had oramorph last night for breakthrough pain and just 60mg of codeine before bed. She only woke once for the loo in the night.

Bless her she is so happy to be home! Daisycat is even happier :D She kept coming to check I was still here in the night. Paul said she was looking under the covers for me while I was away and crying in Lucy's room for her.

She said she has been doing circat training with Pepe via skype??? When she believes that we won't go missing again I think she'll be over to see Pepe.

Right lots to do ;) Must get the washing machine on!

    Love

And you are most welcome Toni and Lucy, it is the least we could do for you, knowing that a lot of people were in hiding and keeping a weather eye.
Good that Lucy slept with just one wake up and not too bad on the pain front I hope.

I am sure everyone is so much happier in their own home and Diddicat will be so pleased. Pepe said she looked a bit lost when they skyped yesterday ( I assume when we were out in the morning).
I don't blame her for wanting to keep her pus cat eyes on proceedings and to make sure that no one else goes walkies. Bless

I will let you tackle the washing, ours is busy, as is the dryer. Lovely day, but very cold, nice for airing the cloak, but I can't find it on the line.............

I hope the **** sorts out your heating, they have a duty of care to provide adequate heating and hot water to each property. Let me at them........I am sure my phone won't be gone too long, I have to wait for the pre paid box to arrive, to send it back in.

I don't know what I will do Barbara, no phone, for how many days I am not sure. I will be totally lost and will not have a clue what day it is or what we are doing (moreso than normal :lol: )
They fascinate me too, when you think what mobile phones were like, not all that long ago and now they are like complete computers, organisers, mail, facebook, word, you name it, they do it.
I see the post man has just been, so I will send OH to see what's in the box.
No, I didn't want to leave the G center yesterday, I will deff wear a coat tomorrow.
Glad you enjoyed the curry, mmmmm, fancy one myself now........a trip to Mark's me thinks, next week.

Right, onwards I must potter. Time for more pills.  Never ending.................... :animal_busy:

Will catch up again later - in the meantime everyone take lots of care and keep warm, it's blooming freezing out there, but nice and sunny. XXXX Aidan

The physio at the hospital suggested Lucy might need to sleep in the recliner and she has decided to try it tonight (she'll be in the ward really here ;) ).

I have had to give her some oramorph today for breakthrough pain a couple of times, but she needs it so she can do her exercises.

Daisycat will like it if she's in the lounge. I might be worried though she'll be further away from me :( :?

Joan thank you in fact thanks to all of you. Somehow those 2 nights in hospital were harder than the almost 10 months in 2014 at the QE.

I am VERY glad to be in my own bed :)

I hope they give you a nice new boiler before Aidan goes and bashes their doors down!!

Kath I could eat most of that menu lots of veg stuff and plenty of fibre for Lucy!! The spicy soup for definite and the red cabbage as well as the stuffed cabbage.

I have my binoculars ready for the bird watch. I am so exited!!

Aidan - I have no idea why, but it really does help to know people who understand are 'with you' in spirit.

Diddicat probably was a bit lost. Today she has stuck close by only going out for quick wees then back in to check we are still here :)

LOVELY to have that furry face in mine this morning in bed :) (not Paul!!!)

The washer has gone non-stop, but all caught up now. Ironing tomorrow ::)

It's been super-cold here today Barbara. I was cosy in the hospital. A great place 100% cleanliness rating!! I felt Lucy was in very safe hands. EVERY nurse was lovely :)

Good to hear the Indian meal was a success - well-done Niamh behaving so well :)

Curry night for us tomorrow - take-away!!

Hi To Christine and to Carol and mig and Elizabeth.

    I have missed you all

    Love
