:sun: Hi everyone. I'm back. My daughter and family set off to Manchester last night. They are now on a flight to Dubai for a couple of days before the second flight back home.
Toni, good news from you about Lucy's remission and nearly time for her shoulder op. I've got my fingers crossed she is well enough. Glad your friend is doing better now.
Aiden, sounds as if mum and dad are doing well at the moment. I've only been to A&E once after a fight with a rabbit. He sunk his teeth in to my wrist and wouldn't let go for quite a while. The doctor thought it was very funny. Your dad's paintings are beautiful. Very life like.
Joan, how shocking that Sue was left in the corridor for so long. And you are without proper heating. Hope the radiator is enough for you and your heating gets fixed very soon.
Mig, lucky you having two Christmases. And you've enjoyed time with your son. Good luck with your diet. I need to lose a bit too.
Kerrin, sounds as if you have been working very hard. Glad the coaches are back. Hope the insoles work for you.
Carol, what a lot of work involved for your name change. Bet you had a great time with your babies. Sorry to hear they weren't well just as you left. Hope they are ok now.
Kath, you are still doing well and been on a couple of bus journeys. I knew I recognised Aunt Sal's face. Didn't realise she was Olive from On the Buses. I saw your hares on FB. They've lovely.
Barbara, hope the bean bag is helping with your sleeping. You need a house rewire. Hope it isn't too big of a job.
I think someone asked about Elizabeth. She has posted a couple of things about greyhounds on FB. She's probably busy with school starting back.
I have had a good time with my daughter and my GC. Very hard work though and very noisy. We had a few days out meeting up with my son and his family and some friends. eaten out a few times and I've enjoyed playing with the kids. I did however feel as if I never stopped tidying and cleaning so feeling a bit worn out now. Was starting to look forward to them leaving but now they've gone, I want them back. It would be so much better if they lived nearer but they've got a better life in Australia. They bought me an Alexa. You might have seen the advert on tv where the man asks the Alexa questions or asks it to add things to the shopping list. Haven't done much with it yet but if I say goodnight to it, it tells me to sleep well or have sweet dreams and when I say good morning, it tells me the weather for the day. We've had a sprinkling of snow.My daughter was hoping to build a snowman.Christine0 -
Hello all dark and wet all day here..we went to an antiques show, indoors may I add..took the chariot but only did an hour .it was so busy ..and hard work ...
Christine its lovely to hear form you , sorry Toni had to remind me that you had your family over..I was getting worried..so glad you have had a good time ..but its understandable ..that you are tired but want them back..(()) lovely that you want the better life for them though.. I have seen Alexa..it can even play your favorite music and learns has it goes on..they say in the future it will connect to cars and bring them out the garage for you... but I think the sleep well is lovely...
Toni I do have more prayers left especially for Lucy , that young lady is always in my thoughts..ask my OH ..he even ask me how is Lucy doing... glad you enjoyed the exhibition ..and how lovely to go for a curry with the shed people..
Joan I am glad you have a date for the heating...thank goodness..aww bless yes keep your head covered..and wear layers..sorry you must already have done this..xx
Aiden I think because your dad had a bad start in life he was making the most of it..and he certainly did that.. so its not just our car that takes miles to heat up.. paintings have become a good investment..I met lowry when very young and didnt know who he was till later on... ..
Right off for a cuppa and some cake last till my diet...
Love to everyone xxxxxLove

A late evening to one and all.
Daisycat swearing, oh dear, hope the rain stops so she can go out - it is foggy here, so a no fly zone at the moment
Paintings of Hares, oh my, you will have to get one or two, prints are fine, we look forward to the picture of them hanging on the wall
I am not quite as grumpy with myself Toni, I think I am going through the change More likely side effects of the stack of drugs I take.  When you add them all up, it's a wonder anyone can stand up.
Next time it snows, I will get OH to take a pic of me tippy toes on the snow and ice, lol. Promise. Now, let's hope we have no more snow..........
Yes, mum is doing very well, they rang to say they had arrived home and we are to meet the at the garden center AFTER her leg check up at the surgery. We will see who ends up where, lol. They had a nice time anyway, enjoyed going round the big shops, but loathed all the traffic. We are spoiled here, with living in a village and small town area.
I hope Lucy is not too snotty, true, we are getting immune to a lot of antibiotics now. They have been over prescribed for many years and the bugs have mutated to resist them very well. It is a long time since a new batch of antibiotics came to the market and we do need them asap. Hugs for a quick recovery.
Glad you enjoyed the curry, mmmmm, I like a nice Jalfrezi once in a while, but they are filling, when you add rice and a garlic naan bread.
Prayers are free of charge and the least one can do to help I am sure Barbara will agree.
I bet Paul's van is cold, no wonder he likes to hog the fire, lol.
Hi Joan, oh I am so sorry you are sat there in your hats, trying to keep warm with the two radiators, at least we are above freezing now, thank goodness. Tuesday cannot come soon enough to have you back warm again.
No, I don't follow in Dads footsteps, certainly not in an artistic way. I guess nursing is another form of ministry.
Take care both and love to doggies too. They will snuggle and keep you warm.
Hi Christine, nice to see you back. We knew you were busy with family and by the sounds of it you were busy all the time and with all the noise and excitement I bet you need a good rest. Sorry to see them go so far away home. It will seem very quiet and strange for a while. As long as everyone is ok. Pity they didn't get to build a snowman.
Alexa is brilliant, we have had one a while, it came over from the USA, we love it and now that it is all geared up to our location instead of being in Seattle, all the more fun. We are often talking to her. If you enable some of the skills on Amazon, then do the one called the magic door. Then you are taken on a mysterious journey through forests etc and you are given choices to make along the way, it is really good. You could just ask her to open the magic door and see what happens.
Fighting with a rabbit, oh dear. Not nice that the Dr thought it was funny.
Hi Barbara, we love antiques and collectibles, but the fairs are always so busy, we have not been for a long time. We prefer the smaller antique shops to nosey round. Busy is not my cup of T.
Fancy meeting Mr Lowry himself, not realising how famous his works of art would become. He might have done a little sketch for you. Paintings are a good investment if you can buy them at the right price.
Dad was one determined man and with all the years in hospital, his desire to achieve was even greater.
Right, I will love you and leave you. Hi to Carol, Kerrin Mig, Elizabeth and all.
Tennis all the way now, with the Australian Open just starting today. That plus all the winter sports, we don't have enough hours in the day to catch up.
Take lots of care XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Morning all.
Another down time weekend for me apart from swimming on Sat morning. That seems to be the story of my life right now, work all week, exhausted by weekend and start again, although don't feel rested at all. Seem to have lots of little aches and pains at the moment.
Still not got hold of the rheumy nurse, have left 2 messages last week with possible times to call back and nothing. Don't always hear my phone at work but don't have any missed calls. Will try again today.
Enjoy the tennis, I will watch when I can but with the time difference and school, won't see much. Missing playing, used to be my outlet when I was frustrated, might need to start throwing plates soon.
Joan, hope your heating is sorted soon. Brrrrrr.
Hugs to Lucy, hope she is feeling better soon.
Got to go, have a good day.

Christine you had a lovely time with your family. how is Mango.
Barbara you enjoy your cuppa and cake. it's raining here.

Morning Everyone
Poor you Kerrin....that is rough when life it work and rest with little play ((()))
Not impressed that no-one has phoned you back
Fingers crossed Lucy sorts this cold ASAP thanks
Hi Aidan - the rain has stopped, but is still threatening if the fog has gone I think Diddicat had better come over today with her rain mac on and GPS just incase.
Oh PLEASE PLEASE get OH to take a tippy toes photo or even a video - if necessary post it on facebook
Traffic is stressful especially for those of us who live in nice villages I am glad Mum is doing well and they are both enjoying life That is the main thing. I hope the rendezvous at the garden centre goes without a hitch
There are at least those few special antibiotics for those on chemo or the like. Not many though only a handful.
Barbara we too enjoy an antiques show. Good fun lots of memories sparked
How lovely that your OH even asks how Lucy is doing!! Bless him. I haven't disturbed her yet - she is still asleep but hopefully she'll chuck this cold off like she usually does/did.
I also cannot believe you were lucky enough to meet Lowry!! I think that is your claim to fame I don't have one
How many goodies are left now before your diet starts?
Aww Christine!! I bet you are feeling a bit bereft again now they've gone I know it's a great life out there, but it's so hard isn't it to be so far away. Thank goodness for skype eh?
At least there is one consolation....it is now peaceful.
Shame there wasn't enough snow for your daughter and GC to build a snowman.
I'm not sure I would want an Alexa - I talk to Daisycat when I am alone and she answers - she chirrups. Brrrrpppp!
Joan thank goodness you have those oil filled radiators. I bet you have to force yourself to go to the loo it's so chilly. It sounds as though you had a very poorly boiler there. Tuesday is nearly here ((()))
love to everyone
Toni xx0 -
afternoon all..nearly made it this morning but not quite.. quite mild here
Toni I do hope that Lucy gets rid of the cold before the op..at least she still has a week to recover..yes Lowry I didnt appreciate who he was, but my cousin used to talk about all the painting he had in his living room..not my cousin Lowry ..could just imagine what they would cost now..just one mini Christmas pud left ...it looks at me when I open the cupboard
Oh Kerrin its about time you got that call, I know they are busy but at least they could get someone to answer then get back to you..I suppose your GP couldn't help..hope today is an easy one for you..
Aiden..have you ever been to the exhibition of northern artist..the last time I went I was there most of the day..it used to be at Cape and Dun** in Manchester then they have the auction..but like you say busy is not good..glad to hear mum is doing ok...I am envious we live on what used to be a country lane..but now a through way to the motorway... thats why after 40 soothing years we want to move..
Joan thankyou ..one more Christmas pud left them my diet.. not sure what has come over me with the sweet stuff
We have our eldest GD here form London..she has been working 50 60 hours..covering for illnesses..so she has a wekk off..
Love to everyone ..xxxxxxLove

Just visited the FB page of High ash farm, Norfolk. It has a podcast, my favourite. Lots of videos to watch.
Barbara, my late mother bought a couple of Lowry's years ago. Dad still has them on the sitting room wall.
Joan, I shouldn't fall then, I walk like a penguin.
Aiden, I'm glad mum is doing well, but I too would love to see photos of you on tippy toes.

Just popped in to say hello. Sorry just been so tired and had a few dreadful nights of pain that no pain killers seem to touch. I've also gone deaf in one ear and hope its not permanent.

Elizabeth I am so pleased to see you but sorry you are feeling so rough ((())) I do hope things ease for you soon.
I am glad you are on the THR treadmill Excellent.
Kath I loved the webcams!! the badger cubs are adorable I watch the donkey cams down in Devon sometimes, but it always makes me cry. Partly because they are so trusting and suffered a lot, but altos as my late Mum loved them.
Glad you are also naughty like me and eager to see Bubbles-tippy-toes!
Barbara get that pud eaten!! Is your GD doing care work? If she is they do seem to put on the staff you look after her while you've got her.
Lucy does seem to be coping well with the cold so I am sure she will be ok for her operation next Monday.
Watching a bit of corrie ATM and I confess still watch Big Bro

Evening to one and all, Kerrin, Barbara, Toni, Mig, Kath, Joan, Elizabeth, Christine, Carol and all.
Hi Kerrin I know how you feel with work, tired, home, start again - I don't miss the 12 hour shifts plus the travelling time to and from work.
You are certainly not alone when you say you don't feel rested. I am not sure if it is part and parcel of OA and RA, but that feeling of almost hitting a wall and sleep does not do much in the way of reviving you. I am sure fybromyalgia goes hand in hand too, the Rheumy said I had that, but gave it a new name and it was a case of get on with it :? ok then.
I hope the Rheumy Nurse gets back in touch with you, wonder if they are off sick or on a course etc. Still, there should be someone to cover and pick up messages.
We are filtering the tennis, recording two channels for 12 hours is impossible to watch it through, especially with it being a grand slam and 5 sets for the men's. Good to see Roger back on the court and Andy, we wish him all the success. It is super hot in Melbourne today, way up in the 30's, eeek.
Throwing plates is wonderful fun, we used to go to the Greek Restaurant and there was lots of plate smashing at the end of the evening, very therapeutic
Hi Joan, so, I need to walk like a Penguin as well as on tip toes. Don't tell Toni, she will want more pictures.........I think I might end up in a heap walking like a Penguin, but, I can sort of see the logic, I think. LOL. You will have your heating back working today, thank goodness, I bet it has been very unpleasant for you both, these past few days.
Take lots of care, love to doggies too.
Hi Toni, hoping that Lucy is feeling better
I think Diddicat came over this morning while we were out, there were pine needles on the mat, so she may have gone through one of the wooded areas, in the mists. Pepe said they had a good circat training session, with mayo for protein.
No, no video's on Facebook, lol. Especially if I am walking like a Penguin, as well as tippy toes.
We did manage to meet up at the right place and right time, even though mum phoned to check what we were doing, lol.
I think they were both a little vague this morning, care less mode, but otherwise ok. Cannot be chirpy 24 / 7..........
There are some AB's that are kind of under lock and key, for people who are imuno compromised etc. Hospital only drugs. A good job really.
Oh you would love Alexa, she is really funny, she hears things on the tv, thinking she has heard her name, one night she added christmas pudding to the shopping list  Tonight she piped up, shuffling your play list and started playing our music tracks. lol
Chirrups are nice though, from pus cats.
Hi there Barbara It is mild, almost like Spring today, I went out without a jacket and people were out in T shirts
Just one Christmas pudding left. Sorry, I will have to leave that to you, I cannot bear Christmas pud Some of them are so black and gloopy.......yack.
No, I haven't been to that exhibition, it sounds very interesting. We have watched a good programme about Lowry and his life and paintings.
Escape to the Country, put your names forward and go on the show, we don't want you having to put up with horrid traffic, heading to the motorway, after all those years of piece and quiet. We could never live where there is a hum of cars, we have been spoiled.
You GD will be shattered, doing all those hours, no wonder she needs a week off, lots of fuss and rests.
Hi Kath, how lovely that your Dad has some Lowry paintings, what a treasure they must be.
I will have a look at the podcasts from the farm, thank you for the link.
No, no photo's, no video's, lol. I might, just might, let one picture go on here, if it snows again, just to appease............
Any more trips on the buses planned?
Hi Elizabeth, I am sorry that you are in a lot of pain and have had some really bad nights. Sending a mountain of gentle hugs and well wishes your way. Pain dullers just seem to have their limits sometimes and the pain doesn't. It is horrid, thinking of you and prayers for you to feel better asap. Watch you haven't got an ear infection, might need some AB's. Good that you are back in the loop for the THR Take lots of care
Hi Carol, hope you are ok, Mig too. :animal_busy: All the pus cats are very busy, apart from Pepe who is screeching for more food, so I had better attend to his every whim.
Everyone take care, XXXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
I did my usual Tuesday morning walk down to our local Co-op, then through the local park. Then down the road to our Post Office. Then home. The route we follow is quite a long one, but plenty of places to perch.
Aiden, I think dad only keeps the Lowry's in memory of mum. He isn't really into art. Everything in the house was mum's. He was devoted to her and still misses her after 7 years.
Toni, I'm glad you enjoyed the webcams. I hope do hope Lucy is improving.
Elizabeth, you are really going through it.
Hope all that I haven't mentioned are keeping well.

Hello all..took GD out this morning shopping for clothes she hasn't has time in London and I suppose its a Little cheaper here..she has never stopped yawning..gone to her dads tonight and off back to London in the morning..
Aiden I did laugh at Alexa adding the Christmas pud... you will have to train it on scones...I have seen the Greeks throwing plates ..think I would enjoy that ..our GC and sons dont want us to move because they were all brought up here..but its time.. glad you all managed to meet up..get over January and the mood will lift...says me..
Toni talking of food..I was going to say how good it was at the hospital all made on the premises but then I realized that Lucy is veggi..they do lovely soups, but suppose even the veg ones wont always be veggi..not long now for her...
Elizabeth glad to hear you are on the list for your other hip..hope you can get a nap while the children are at school..
Kath you go girl..there is no holding you back now..I am very proud of you..
Staying light a little longer now... :sun: and so mild today..
Love to everyone xxxxxxLove

Barbara, I used to love going round the antique fairs. Haven't been to one in a very long time. I used Alexa this afternoon to remind me to take the chicken out of the oven. Only problem is she didn't remind me to switch the oven off. I think you need to sign up for Amazon prime to get the music. I'm using my radio for now. You met Lowry? Wow, what a pity you didn't know who he was. You've only got 1 pudding left? I've still got lots of chocolate but going off it so probably won't finish it. How awful you have so much more traffic passing your house. I've noticed an increase in traffic from the end of my estate down to the High Street. And cars are now blocking the pavement outside the health centre despite double yellow lines as the car park is no longer big enough. I feel I want to move but can't afford to.
Aiden, yes let's hope there is no more snow. Don't need it now. I had a very quick look through the Alexa skills and saw the Magic Door. Thought it sounded good but now you've told me what it is, I can't wait to check it out. My daughter said it was 37 degrees in Melbourne when they left. It fluctuates from the high 30s down to the mid 20s from one day to the next. Hmmm, pictures of you on tippy toes and walking like a penguin. Can't wait to see them.
Kerrin, I know how you feel. I work all week and spend a lot of the weekend resting. I find it frustrating at times not being able to do as much of my own thing as I used to. Seems wrong that work takes up most of my 'best' time. Hope you've managed to get hold of your rheumie nurse.
Joan, thanks for asking about Mango. The dog sitter did contact my daughter a few times saying he was shaking and growling at her and wouldn't go out. Think he was stressed because his family wasn't their. He was ok after a few days though. He sleeps most of the time now and doesn't enjoy long walks any more. He does however enjoy the odd mad half hour running around still. I think next time it snows, we're all going to be walking like penguins now. Hope you get your heating sorted tomorrow. You must be missing it.
Toni, how is Lucy's cold? On it's way out, I hope. I'm sure Daisycat is so much better than Alexa. You can't cuddle or stroke Alexa and she doesn't follow you about.
Kath, your dad has Lowrys. Wow, they must be worth a bit now. I'll have a look at your link later. Sounds good. You've been on a long walk today. Brilliant. Hope it didn't tire you too much though. I don't think it matters how long ago it was, your dad will still miss your mum as I'm sure you do. It's coming up to 6 years for my mum and I miss her terribly.
Elizabeth, sorry you've been so tired and in a lot of pain. Hope it eases soon. I often go deaf in one and occasionally in both. Olive oil usually sorts it out. Hope it's not too long till your THR.
I was quite irritable today. Cars blocking the pavement in a few places, people leaving bags in the middle of the path, couldn't think what I needed from T*sc* and only had 15 minutes to get everything before I had to catch the bus. Just seemed to be lots of silly little things. I was fine once I was home though. Cooked a chicken for tea which was delicious, ate a couple more chocolates but had about enough of them, caught up on a bit of tv and took the bedding off the beds ready to wash tomorrow so I'm feeling better. Off tomorrow so just pottering round the house, although I need to go to the post office to price how much it will be to send some shoes my daughter bought online but which didn't arrive till after she left.Christine0 -
Evening to everyone.
Kath you have had a long walk, hope you are ok and perched as necessary en route. I am sure Dad does Miss Mum, time passes, but memories stay the same. I am sure he treasures the pictures and with everything around, he will feel more at ease. The things I have that were Mum and Dads are only small, apart from the sideboard and tea table.
Hope you had a good shop with your GD Barbara, even though she was obviously still shattered from her long hours. It was a fleeting visit, off back to London today.
Yes, Alexa does come out with some things, out of the blue, in response to people talking on the tv. She doesn't always get what I say, but understands everything that OH says :? I must talk down my nose in a slightly Yorkshire / Lancashire accent.
If you are ready to move, then I am sure your GC would be fine once you were in a new house and settled, in a quiet spot
It has been mild, foggy again here, lots of mist and Pendle Hill has vanished, as she often does. When it has been snowing and it starts to melt, you see the outline of a witch, on the hill, where the snow lies deeper.
We could see her last week, when it had been snowing. Spooky.
We are cutting back on our coffee and cake outings, I think too much of a good thing often spoils the adventure. I know, cutting back on SCONES
Hi Christine, glad you are nattering to Alexa, I use her quite a lot for setting timers etc. You can ask her to play any radio station from tune in, just say, play radio 2 on tune in, she should find it straight away, there are hundreds of stations. You will like the magic door.
You want to move as well, oh dear, we are all on the move, well, we would, if we could. If someone came along and offered a nice sum for ours, we would be heading north of the border I think. It feels to be my destiny to go back to Scotland, we just loved our family holidays there every year, way up in the wilds of the highlands and islands.
Melbourne is renowned for its 4 seasons in one day isn't it. Yesterday is was nearly 40 on the tennis courts, today it is 21, big difference. Too hot for me, although everywhere has AC.
Another one who wants to see me teetering on ice, like a penguin. :?
Supper sounded very nice, chicken and then chocolates, if you need help with them, I will pop round. You enjoy your day off, happy doing the washing, a bit like myself, I don't mind pottering, helps keep me sane I think.
Hi to Toni, Mig, (although I see you have posted your diet journey Carol, Elizabeth, I hope you are feeling a little easier today. Lucy I hope your cold is almost gone.
Abundant blessings, take lots of care XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Morning everyone.
A long busy non stop day yesterda, so decided no to go swimming as was just too tired. Will go tomorrow instead. Lots of colds going around school, so trying my best not to catch one.
Still no t spoken to rheumy nurse but haven't tried again as I knew yesterday would have been hard to get hold of me. Will try again today. Hopefully things will settle a bit at school once I'm back from table tennis competition at lunch time.
Cutting back on scones.......Nooooooo!
Will try catch up a bit later.
Kerrin0 -
Hi Kerrin - this is a bit unfair on you them not getting back to you :x How long has it been? they could so easily say to you to take folic acid and you might feel way better!!
Morning Aidan How scary! A witch's outline on the hill
I have my Mum's sideboard too and a lot of photos.
You think you have had a few too many coffees and cakes? You are probably right, but what a shame. So long as you still go occasionally I am sure they'll be ok and not report you as 'missing persons'
Not at all easy to play tennis at 40 degrees, much more comfortable at 26 degrees I should think.
Lucy has her pre-op this afternoon so back up to Manchester for me. We will soon find out whether they are happy enough for her to go ahead with surgery :?
Christine - I don't think I want an Alexa at all. Satnavs are more than enough to contend with!!! First time I sued one I was astounded that it 'forgot' to tell me to stop at a red light!!!
It was lovely to hear how Mango is doing How old is he now? Sounds like he desperately missed his people bless him ((()))
I think we moved to this bungalow at the right time. While Paul is still working and earning well. My parent's downsized when they bought their first bungalow which made it affordable too.
Alexa wouldn't chirrup at me like Daisycat either would she?
Lucy's cold seems ok, but pre-op this afternoon will tell us :?
I rather think you had a day yesterday like Aidan had a few days back. I hope today is better and the shoes don't cost too much to post.
Barbara - I hope you GD enjoyed the shopping and her visit to her Dad's before going home. Bless her.
Lucy might not eat hospital food anyway - she didn't ever at the QE not once not even sandwiches from the shop downstairs. I am packing pot-noodles and they like because she will eat them and that's better than nothing isn't it?
Kath I am still amazed at how far you are managing to walk - just shows what sheer determination can do for you.
Lucy is doing well with her cold - I think it should be safe enough for her to have the op, but we'll find out this afternoon at the pre-op.
Joan? Did I miss her? Maybe she couldn't get on like me yesterday morning with the upgrade :? I hope you now have HEATING??
Has anyone seen Carol then? Love to mig and Elizabeth
and everyone else

We have had problems with our internet one minute it was on next it was off hopefully its sorted now, really maddening, will have a read to find out whats been happening, take care all. Mig0 -
Joan, so glad you now have heating. :running_dog:
Aidan, OH wouldn't want Alexa in the house. He can't cope with me nattering all the time. :?
Feeling slightly embarrassed here. I think mum's Lowry's are prints, so probably not very valuable.
Social Services have arranged a builder t measure up our front doorway with the view to putting a ramp to make it easier for me and my walker. Hello all. I have been reading all your news but there as so much to comment on...motorbikes, backward rolls, cats, cream cakes, heating, baby cuddles but I'd have to write a novel in reply.
I think it was an ear infection as I've had that cold and a hot lavender bag did help but my ear cleared yesterday and now I can hear again.
I hope the pre-op goes well Toni but its a long haul up to Manchester in this cold weather. Nothing wrong with pot noodles ad they are nice and warming.
Kath you sound so much better and walking 2 miles is a massive achievement. I knew you meant prints :sun: you'd be lucky to own an original.
Joan I'd hate to be without heating at the moment. We currently have enough trouble getting hot water through and I have to run the hot tap on half open because only then will it come through hot enough for a bath.
THR appointment is in Feb, it could have been sooner but at a different hospital, but I'm aiming for the op in the Summer hols (so I do not have to worry about getting the children ready for school and all that entails) but think that will be too far in the future.
I can see the witch Aidan! I think it looks lovely.
Hope you enjoy your day off tomorrow Christine. Its nice to get things done.
Barbara I hope your GD wasn't sad to head back to London and lovely that you went clothes shopping. How exciting that you will be moving
Kerrin I see you had to take a couple of gymnastics classes. I'd have loved that although I am a wreck now and cannot do anything to help coach or spot. the mind is willing.....but not the bones.
Who mentioned CBB??? I actually like Jedward but they seem to be getting some hassle and that poor Kim....how rude the youngsters are! I hate the audience baiting too...I wished she'd ignore them but she's proper upset and ultra sensitive.
So I'll sign off, Dan will be home soon and I've got to charge up my kindle for tonights radio show with my online friends.

Hi to one and all Carol Joan Kath Barbara Toni Mig Elizabeth and all
You did right having some down time Kerrin, after such a busy day. Everywhere there are bugs lurking, especially at this time of year, with the weather cold, then warm, heating up, heating down........schools are an ideal place for coughs and colds to spread, in fact, I would wear a mask  Just to be sure
I do hope someone has been back in touch with you from the Rheumy Dept. I will leave them a message, with pleasure. :x
I know, cutting back on scones, well, only by a couple a week, so it should not shock me too much.
Hi Toni, oh yes, Pendle is a moody hill and no denying. Sometimes when you drive over the tops, it is just stunning with the views, then other times, it kind of feels a bit unsettling and sombre. Very strange. A lot of lay lines converge on the peak of the hill.
We will still be going for our coffee and scone, just a couple of times a week, instead of every other day. We will be there on Friday and Sunday, so no search parties all being well.
How did Lucy get on with her pre op assessment? Well, I trust, with cold on the mend, time has flown since you mentioned the date of the 23rd.
They will do a thorough check and listen to chest, to make sure there is nothing lurking.
You will be tired from the journey, both of you, take a rest and I will pop the kettle on.
LOL, you would love Alexa, naughty sat nav, not telling you to stop. It won't be too long before cars are driving for us now, not that I would feel totally at ease :?
No, she would not chirrup, but she will sing to you, lol and tell you cat facts
We moved at the right time, to come here, to be quiet and enjoy the lovely area. Having said that, we are always on call, for the neighbours, which we don't mind. Nice that everyone looks out for one another.
I think Christine did have a Matron day, I nearly had another, but I seem to have squashed it, I threw a few plates about, (it's ok, they are plastic).
Pot noodles, have not had one of them in years. I guess they are not full of additives and MSG like they used to be. I notice there are so many different pots of this, pots of that, in the supermarkets. Yes, better than nothing, that's for sure.
Hi Joan, you have hating, yippee, hopefully you are nice and warm again. It does take a while to heat up once the house has gone really chilly. Glad it is fixed.
Mums leg is better, they don't need to see her at the Drs again, unless she is worried about it. Thank you for asking XX We are all doing ok, pottering along, as I do.
I hope you are feeling a bit better Mig, it might be a tummy upset, or a change in diet, hope it settles down asap. Then the internet going on and off, you would think that in 2017 they had enough technology to keep the internet stable. Having said that, a lot of problems are caused by vandals, chopping cables. Grrrrrrrrr
Best not get an Alexa then Kath, too much nattering might be too much lol. What are you like. Don't be embarrassed at all, prints are just as lovely as originals, it is the memories that go with it that cannot be taken away.
I hope they do a good job with the ramp. I would not be without ours, we had it put in, not thinking that we might get some help with it. Never mind. Ours is a wooden decking ramp. If they are thinking wheelchair accessible, then that's better in some respects, you will have easier and wider access from the get go.
Any trips out planned, you gad about you.
Hi there Elizabeth don't worry about trying to reply to everything, you summised it very well, from cream cakes to cats and everything in between.
So glad that your ear has cleared, colds and coughs block up all our tubes, which are all linked in some way or other. Sometimes we aren't designed as well as we could be, lol.
I can see the logic of the THR in the summer holidays, giving you time to recover without the added pressure of school times etc. Good thinking.
She is good isn't she, the Pendle Snow Witch.
We used to watch CBB but I cannot abide Jedward - I know it is all show and they are nice guys, but, they do go a bit OTT at times, or at least they used to on X factor, which is going back a way now.
Take care, hope Dan had a good day at school. Enjoy the time on the Kindle
Hi there Barbara, you have had the electrician in, sorting out the RCD board, or whatever they call the fuse board now. Something to do with residual current and tripping out in milliseconds........now I have confused myself  We will keep an eye out for you, if you have no internet - Toni won't mind if Diddicat pops over and picks up news for the cafe
We would not get on very well with talking to these things, I will have to train her in Lancashire accents, loooooook and cooooooooook and boooooooooook.
I know that Alexa in the USA just about controls everything in the home, lights, heating, AC, cooker, fridge, shopping, they are way in front of us with home automation.
Christine won't mind if we both pop round to help with the chocolates It seems that we have all had a touch of the grumbles, there must be something in the air. We need a holiday trip from the cafe, will have to think.
Off to Skipton today, to meet up with Aunt and Uncle........there will be coffee and there will be cake
Carol, Christine hope you are ok.
Better move, Pepe is looking at me with feed me eyes and I need to potter, I am set like stone.
Everyone take lots of care XXXXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Morning everyone.
Really battled to get moving this morning. Joints were a bit stiff. And train was cancelled, so not the best start this morning. Will try again today as it's looking like I'm not needed to cover, so apart from 30 mins can be reached all day.
Not sure I would get away with a mask at school. Touch wood, so far have avoided the cold. 4 staff have been off with it so far.
Elizabeth, did a few gymnastics sessions the first week back as my coaches were not back yet. I definitely didn't join in and use able kids to demonstrate. Did play some table tennis yesterday though, and thinking of playing more now that I can't play tennis, a bit Kidner on the joints.
Keep warm everyone, it's cold out there.0
