What a perfect picture for last night Aidan!!indeed they do. As for yesterday's scones they melted in the mouth!!

I am sure Miss Sleek will be happy to give Pepe proper flying lessons while we're away. I hope he understands that she was just traumatised at the thought of us being away....not really fibbing just trying to demonstrate her anguish??

They call eyelashes extensions Lucy had them after chemo when she had none now it's to avoid having to apply mascara

The nurses on the YPU used to squirt the kids if they had a special birthday; 18th 21st while in the ward. Our matrons were a bit complicit to be fair once the evil one had gone to a different ward.

Yes Nessie is almost finished and has to go up for 1st May for best kept village. Mine will have to go up early as we are away on 30th. He has Head and neck, one hump and a tail. The sea is some pale blue (frozen) organza. Oh and a tartan hat

Well Carol it sounds s though your night out was pretty lengthy I thought it would be. I am very glad to hear the concert was brilliant though and worth it.

It's great that Lillie was diagnosed at 11 days. Again thanks to our wonderful NHS I expect. She has grown up informed and damage will therefore be prevented :) Your GD deserves your pride for coping, after al,l she has done all the work really.

I hope your cards sold at the MS group? I hope Saturday is more successful as far as fundraising is concerned.

Barbara I know they do everything!! From teeth whitening to false eyelashes, nails to spray tans. I wouldn't do a spray tan myself they are never quite light enough :(

VERY occasionally I have my nails done about once every 2 years

I will keep Lucy safe as best I can on holiday. No relaxing if she wants to get in the pool though :?

Are you going to squirt your fat pigeon??

Hi to Joan I hope all is well with you and Sue :)

Love to everyone else. I hope all is well.

    Love

Hello peeps. I think I detect a small improvement with my joints. I'm trying very hard not to over do it although I'm tempted to catch up with a few things.

Hope everybody is well. I haven't read back yet,

Nice to see you back Elizabeth. I hope you continue to improve.
    :cake:

I'm fed up with my iPad. Every day I use it I have to log in - only it won't accept my password. After trying 3 times, it gets locked. so I have to go through the rigmarole of unlocking it, and changing my password. It takes ages to work through, but the next day I can't log in again so off we go again.

Toni if I was younger, much younger I would have had the lot done..I used to have an hairpiece in the 60s ..quite rare then...I bit my nails so could have had false ones..and would have loved a tan instead of the red burn marks.. :o you enjoy that holiday... :) bet the scarecrow looks brilliant :D
Joan hope you and Sue have a good weekend..does the foot feel any better or cant you tell for now...
Aiden I love the picture and the verse...so lovely..I thought the feather had to be white shows what I know.. I think Pepe will do well on the broomstick ..just to show miss slimkins how clever she has got while they are away...I bet you all had fun on the ward at night. .I have just bought a water pistol so here goes will blame you if the neighbour catches it..
Kath its frustrating when things dont work and older I get the more annoyed..apparently some of the updates are not recognizing the passwords..hope you sort it..
Carol I hope loads turn up next time..you did have a long day no wonder you soon went to sleep..did you enjoy the concert...is it the original palladium when it come on at the weekend we think it looks much smaller them years ago..mind you we have grown...

Evening to one and all -

It is a lovely feather isn't it Toni and of course, scones that melt, are simply the best :)

Yes, Pepe is fully up to speed with the traumas of holiday times. Not that we go away, but he is just as bad if we go into town  They were speaking tonight on Skype. He did mention there will be flying lessons, with the weather improving this coming week. Only within sight of the house, no whizzing out over the countryside, he is only on a provisional broomstick license.

The extensions sound and look good, from what I have seen of them. as you say, saves applying loads of mascara. Apparently there is a manscara too. I used to wear eyeliner in the 80's, when it was all fashionable. I looked a right bobby dazzler.:lol: I used to go on sunbeds umpteen times a week, many moons ago, I was tanned, but I am sure it was doing me no good, so stopped and am now transparent  :?

OH, you had an evil Matron did you, we don't like them. A little humour never hurt anyone. Water fights are brilliant.

Bessie the Nessie is just wonderful, he looks amazing, you should be well proud.

I am sure you will keep Lucy safe while on Holiday. I know you will be on pins where pools are concerned, but I am sure all will be well.

We will miss you while you are away :(

Oh dear Joan, you lost your post, how annoying for you. I nearly lost the post I did yesterday, I clicked close on the wrong page. Fortunately it was there in the history. I hope your foot is ok and not as painful, are you able to take more weight on it now? Steady away.
Love to you and Sue and the doggies, enjoy the fine weather :)

Hi Elizabeth, how lovely to see you. That is good news that you are noticing a small improvement in your joints. Any improvement is welcome, as I am sure you are more than well aware of. Take things steady though. It is tempting to do a wee bit too much, we all do it, then think "ouch" for however long and say why did I do that.
Sending lots of hugs to you and yours (((())))

Hi Kath, you are having trouble with your I Pad, oh dear. I know nothing about anything to do with Apple, be it MAC, I Pads I phones.........I am sure there will be a place to clear the cache, in the history, or whatever Apple call it, to clean up junk files. That might help.
I hope you are not hurting too much and able to get out and about on your walks.

Hi Barbara, so, you have the water pistol. Great news. Don't you be blaming me when you drench the next door neighbour :lol:
We did have some fun on the wards, it was essential really and the patients used to love it. We did do a lot of work too, in between water fights :? :D

We went to the GC with Mum n Dad, it was very warm in there and by the time I had had two large coffee's I was leaking and then some, lots of wafting and it took me ages to cool down. It didn't put me off the scones though, they were super fresh :)

It will be packed this week end, with it being a Bank Holiday and good weather too. We will avoid, until next Tuesday, when the world returns to normality.

Stocked up on essentials on Sainsbury's, water (we only drink bottled), tonic, ( I am addicted to slimline tonic ). OH calls it the devil's work, lol :lol:

B and SIL coming over to see Mum n Dad today, so they will pop in after lunch and have a cuppa with us and a catch up. I think they will all go to Pendle Village. We will be stopping at home :)

Niece and her partner might be coming over on Sunday, not sure yet, have not heard yay or nay.

Hi to Kerrin, Christine, Charrisse, Mig, Carol and all. hope all is as ok as possible.

I had better potter a little. My back is shouting. Everyone take lots of care XXXX Aidan

Another lovely feather piccie Aidan you are excelling yourself!! Butterflies too. A lot of the parents of kids who lost their cancer battle loved them :)

You do indeed have a busy week ahead...I think you are wise to remain at home while they all off to Pendle village. Conserve some battery.

Slimline tonic the devil's water?!!

Yes indeed Pepe's provisional is through - have you seen his photo on it? :? All local trips to start with when he passes he will have a black box so he can't fly after 10.30pm for a while.

Yesterday I changed the bot's blades he needs new ones and for them to be lowered a bit the grass is growing fast at the back.

Bessie is the first scarecrow to be up and no doubt the most amateur, but at least we are joining in :) Our wall sort of lends itself to a Nessie don't you think?

Well this morning I have to get my act together and wash my hair then off to M&S for some last minute bits :)

I hope everyone else is well.

    Love

Hello Elizabeth Kathleen Barbara Toni Aidan and anyone else I missed
Elizabeth it's nice to see you I hope everything is going has best has it can for you.
Kathleen that must be so maddening for you I don't know the answer for that.
Barbara I know people who use water pistols to keep cats out of the garden.
Toni your Nessie is lovely I hope you win what will you do with him after. have a lovely holiday.
Aidan have a good time with your relations. my foot has healed I could have had a boot but my hands could not pull it tight enough so I have a green plaster for a fortnight.

Afternoon to all, a pleasant day, not too warm, no melting "moment" so far.

Thank you Toni, I thought it was a lovely picture too. Just catching a moment before mum dad bil and sil call in, on their way back from shopping and lunch.
We have had an early lunch, don't like getting caught out. That sounds selfish, but it is not meant to be.

Oh yes, Bill loathes tonic water, he used to work for Schwepps and dealt with the quinine powders, said they were lethal, nearlly choking you. That was back before health and safety ruled the roost.
I still love it and the diabetic nurse says to drink plenty of it, for some reason that I have no discovered yet.

No, is it a bad picture of him, I will sort out another one, we don't want him looking startled  A very good idea to fit a black box, in fact I will set it to earlier than that, sundown and that't his limit. He would be hopeless in the dark

I guess Bot will carry on while you are away, or will you turn it off, in case of grounding on a mole hill? Our little patch of grass is growing like mad out front, OH said he will cut it tomorrow.

No way is Bessie the Nessie an amateur scarecrow, it is really good and fits perfectly, what a lovely house, sits very well and gives off good vibrations :)

Hope you enjoyed your trip to Mark's for those "bits". Sending hugs and safe journeys for your holidays too.

Hi Barbara, well, I don't know if I looked good, just it was all the rage, was it new romantics, or something like that. Depeche Mode set a big trend.
I will have to remember not to wear a cardigan or fleece when we go for coffee now, short sleeved shirts and nothing else, well, trousers of course
The lady who is usually in charge of drinks, knows that I like strong coffee so I always get one with three shots in each. No wonder I leak.

Practice with the water pistol, the pigeon will be laughing at you, cheeky thing. Not when you get it, smack in the beak :)

The mouse plant, oh yes, the flowers are the ones that look like meeces, all the leaves are grown over them now, with just the tips of the tails showing. It grows very fast, into a big mound.

Have a good visit with BIL, nice to hear that the injections are helping him, more mobile is very good news. one of the neighbours nearby has Ca Prostate and had radioactive needles put in, with good effect, he is doing quite well, up and about out for walks etc.

Hi Joan, yes, the boots are pretty tight fitting and not easy to handle if you cannot grip well. Another week and they will take it off and leave it off I would guess. It is having extra time to heal while it is in the cast.
We have a big syringe on the window sill, for cats that wander in and think our gravel is a huge litter tray. We also put the gel down, that smells of citrus and the like. They soon go away when they get a whiff of it. They are all nice puskins, but they must not do their "doings" on our garden :)
You have a good week end too, love to Sue and the doggies.

Hi to everyone else, Kerrin, Christine, Kath, Elizabeth, Charrisse, Mig and all.

I had better make sure I am all ready for T and coffee making. We are all neat and tidy, cats are all resting. :animal_busy:

I will pop back in later. Until then, XXXX Aidan

    Evening everyone

Aiden yes it has been 2 yrs since we lost him and boy how we have missed him in fact since we have had his photo frame on the wall in the hall neither of us walk down the hall without glancing at it.
 yes it is good we are just lately doing more things together now. and we still both have our individual things we do on our own which is the way its always been. GD is very proud of Lillie she is getting on very well at school she loves it and i'm sure she will stay on the right track with the pku we are a very close family and if she does rebel when she gets older there will be many of us who will make sure she knows the consequences you can be sure of that. yes was very exhausted but meal and concert was was well worth it after selling the cards. then to top all that I met friend
for coffee on Friday. and Today with cards at the church. cannot say ive not been busy. and not this type of busy either :animal_busy:

Toni yes GD and her partner (who is Lillies step dad) her real dad they all can do without believe me have done a really good job with Lillie. the cards over the last few days have not been good but not bad either. we had 4 0r 5 people in today at the church so a better day than last week Hope Lucy's bruises are healing

Joan yes time has gone so quickly I can't believe how fast.

Barbara concert was fantastic and yes it is still the original Palladium but it is not a very large theatre anyway but still seats quite a few as you also have the balcony as well as the stalls.

    Love to everyone xx

    Evening to one and all.

just been reading in the tabloids, that we are in for a month of hot weather, up to 28 degrees :o Mind you, the Daily Mail are not known for their accurate weather reporting.

Hi Carol, I am sure you do look at the picture of snowie, I know I would. Uncle of ours painted our three cats and they hang in the hall, just their faces, but they are really good.

you have been super busy, I am so glad that at least a few people came into the Church today, better than no one at all. We will have to expect some Divine Intervention, to bring in some more :)

Coffee on Friday, very nice, having a catch up with friends. I think you need a day or two off, to recover.

I am sure your GGd will keep to her known regime and not throw caution to the wind. With all the family around to keep things on an even keel.

Niece and her partner are coming over tomorrow, finally she let us know, we said meet us all at the GC and we will have brunch, then come back for a catch up. We were not intending to go out, but, best laid plans. It is easier to have a bacon butty and scones, than start worrying what to have for lunch.

Will pick Mum n Dad up on the way, not far, they are only 50 yards from us anyway.

B and SIL were ok, they all popped in for a cuppa and cakes. I was very good, I didn't have any treacle tart, or thornton's millionaire's shortbread bites. I will have my three segments of chocolate orange later :)

Had a nice nap, I did not need rocking, all the cats were very well behaved and settled down to sleep straight away, bless them. :animal_busy:

Well, Toni will be all packed, ready, checking and re checking that they have everything. Have a fab u lous time all of you. _DSC2699_edited.jpg

Christine, Kath, Kerrin, Mig, Elizabeth, Charrisse and all, hope you are ok and enjoying some of the fair weather.

I will away and potter, my creaking knees are shouting the odds along with the back, neck, you name it............  ?Maybe a tramadol later, to ease things.

Take lots of care. XXXXX Aidan

Toni, a very happy birthday. :cake: Hope you have a lovely day on your way on holiday. So Diddycat is saying she will be all alone when you go away. She is only annoyed that she is not going. If my GD’s doctor’s kit goes missing, I’ll know where it is. I’m sure she won’t mind her borrowing it though. My boss’s house has 5 large bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It was 2 large semis but they knocked them in to one. He’s not too bad but his wife does not do cleaning, ironing or tidying. The oldest boy and the daughter definitely take after their mum. I haven’t been able to get in to the daughter’s room for 3 weeks now. No floor space left. Hope Lucy’s bruises are healing and the tan has covered any that are left. I’m not surprised she is scared but she has you too look after her. I love Nessie aka Bessie. I think you must have a good chance of winning. Oh, I saw the videos Lucy put on FB. You two are crazy. I’ve missed wishing you a fantastic but restful holiday. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that Lucy is well all through.

Barbara, I used to keep a diary in my teens. I used to have a lot of dreams and wrote them down to with the intention of writing a book. The diary disappeared when I got married. I’ve got a couple of pigeons too. I try to keep them out of the garden till the blackbirds and sparrows have had theirs. The other problem with them is that they sit on the bar above my garden swing and leave it in such a mess. Sounds as if yours is a bit cheeky, flapping at you. You’ll get your own back though with the water pistol.

Aiden, thank goodness the wisteria has some leaves on now. Fingers crossed you do get a few flowers. Some of the youngsters, and some of the older people, wouldn’t have a clue what to do without their phones. Yes, I think you should wear your trousers when you go out. You’d cause quite a stir if you don’t. Hope you enjoyed your company.

Carol, I can imagine you were shattered. That was a late night. Don’t know if I could have lasted. It can only be a good thing if you are doing more together. Two months since Snowie left you. Time does fly but you obviously still miss him very much. Will Lillie ever grow out of her condition or is it with her for life? She is doing amazingly for her age.

Hi Elizabeth, good to hear there is a slight improvement. Don’t go overdoing things, as tempting as it is. Don’t worry about reading back. There is so much to read.

Kath, that must be so annoying. I’ve had to reset my password a few times but due to forgetting it. I wonder why it won’t let you in.

There was a post on FB this morning asking if anyone would be able to go to the roundabout just at the end of our High Street to tidy it up. I decided to go. There were only 3 of us but we pulled out a huge huge pile of weeds and cut back all the shrubs. Quite a few people passed by and said thank you and told us we were doing a good job (which the council were supposed to do but haven't got round to it). One person told us there was another post on FB. Someone, I think in his 20s, had said he was very angry at what he saw. He said it's always the younger generation who get the bad press but here was the older generation vandalising and destroying the beautiful plants and shrubs on the roundabout. A couple of his friends agreed and he even put a photo on with me in the foreground. Fortunately, the people who know us and the area said they knew what we were doing.

Afternoon all hope you are having a good weekend.

Aiden I made a big mistake in my last post it is 2 months ago not 2 yrs ago that we lost our Snowie  how could I have made such a mistake. your painting of your cats sounds lovely we have a photo of our old cat who we had many years ago now in our hallway too he has never been forgotten. Love my coffee on Fridays with my friend although some times she really gets on my nerves when she has one of her know it all afternoons as I call them. when whatever you say she will say the opposite.
hope your visit to the GC with niece and partner went well and was enjoyed best laid plans always go wrong I find bacon butties and scones sound great to me especially when someone else makes them. yes i'm sure GGd will be good about the diet she had better or else I think she will in lots of trouble believe me and not only from Mum and stepdad.

Toni hope you have a wonderful time away and that Lucy has no more seizure while you are away and will keep you in my prayers

Joan I have some wonderful memories of Snowie and they will stay with me forever.. :running_dog:

Barbara no the are never forgotten I can never understand when people say but it was only a dog cat or whatever yes they may animals but they also become part of our families don't they.

Applerose Lillie will never grow out of it will be with her for life and she dose very well with it, I wish I was good technically with getting pictures on here I would put one of her on I have tried but not had any success
yes 2 months cannot believe how fast it has gone. and we do miss him a lot.
the concert was a late night but well worth it. and good doing things together.

Weather here getting a bit windy and cloudy looking but we are supposed to be have rain showers virtually all day tomorrow but well that's no surprise is it after all its a bank holiday.
cannot believe we will be going into May tomorrow we have a weekend away at the end of the month in Ramsgate to visit family and to attend youngest GGD Graycie's christening. so looking forward to that now it has come round very quickly.

Think I had better move soon incase I set solid and can't move

Love to all. enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend.

Glad you liked your special travelling card :) Hope you are all there safe and sound and I am sure everything will be ok, I will send lots of prayers, along with some cake.

Have a lovely time and take lots of care all XX

HI Joan, hope you are ok and your foot is more comfortable as it is healing. We did have a very busy day, in fact the day vanished completely

Hi Barbara, yes, we all met up at the GC, that took up a good couple of hours, then everyone came back to ours, then Mum n Dad went home for a nap and Niece and partner stayed on........then neighbours needed us to sort out something on the computers, so family went and we popped next door, well, popped, an hour or so later, it was gone nap time and I was Jaded. Anyway, it has been a long day and finally, at 11pm we have some us time. Still, it was nice to see family, but, it does make you tired. We are NOT going out today (Monday).

I will take another picture of the mouse plant, all the meeces are out, hidden by the leaves now, but I will get in there and peek with the phone :)

Hi Christine You are right, Miss Sleek is a wee bit upset that Mummy and family have gone away. Pepe will keep skyping and Charlie and Tia will look after her very well :) I am sure she will be over on her broomstick this week, the weather is looking good and Pepe is waiting for his lessons in flying

You Boss seems to be the most tidy one of the family. Oh dear, no floor space left in the Daughters room, I don't know. We are totally opposite, I must have it clean and as tidy as is possible. Sometimes an uphill battle with three puskins. We both dislike clutter and if too many things make their way onto the mantle, then I get very twitchy about it. Bless eh.

Naughty pigeons, making do doo's on your garden swing. Another water pistol is in order :) The ones at Barbara's are nothing if not brazen, flapping at her. How very dare they.

I am not holding out much hope of any flowers on the wisteria. There are some houses in and around town that have fabulous ones, so I might take a picture and say "look at my lovely wisteria":lol:
I did wear trousers, perish the thought of forgetting them   The world is not ready for another knobbly knees competition

That was very good of you and the others to tidy up the weeds and rubbish, that the Council are supposed to do. Cost cutting I guess.
How rude that someone else posted that you were destroying plants and flowers. Shows what they know about plants and weeds. Ignorance is bliss eh.

Hi Carol. Don't worry, I noticed, but knew just what you meant about Snowie's passing two months ago.
You cannot beat a coffee meeting with friends, oh, one of those know it all moments, yes, I totally understand. If you said the sky is blue, it would be pink instead.
The bacon and egg muffin was lovely and the scones are always perfect, with cream and jam this time, as an extra treat. It was good to meet up with family, I just get restless as I cannot sit for long, or stand for long

I am sure your GGd will be good, if she knows what's best lol.

It has been pretty breezy here too, but warm with it. I think we are in for a good week weather wise. Not too warm, but pleasant.

Graycie's Christening to look forward to, that will be lovely and to see other family too.

Well, I had better do some pottering. I have missed out today. Hi to everyone else, Kerrin Charrisse Kath Mig Elizabeth - everyone take lots of care. N Night God Bless XXXX Aidan

    Morning all.. :)
Christine..that was a good days work..I had to laugh..you vandals:lol: you couldn't make it up...but glad you got the pic out there.. :) its really good to get the community together even if there were only a few of you..blimey your bosses house is big..no wonder you get tired..has for not being able to get in the bedroom..it would be left till they tidy it up..so you have a problem with pigeons ..I used to feed them and then realized how greedy they are..they also make a mess in the feed tray...
Joan..I have seen the puzzles you can have made out of photographs.. and there are cushions and cups..hope you and Sue are ok..does Sue go with you when you go out and about..
Aiden..what a busy day you had..and then sorting out the neighbours comp..good you are having a quiet day today..hope I have not spoken to soon...think I said that next door had a wisteria at the back of the house it must have been 20ft tall..and masses of flowers..I remember them planting it, and once established it seem to take off..but they had to take it down..rats were climbing it..if it had been down to me I would have sorted the rats on the ground and left it... :o
Carol it good to have Graycie's christening to look forward to :D bless her....I am the same just cant believe how quickly the time has gone since Christmas..plus I will be 67 this month...  I would say 20 in my head apart from my memory... and yes our animals are family if only everyone treated them like this..
Out today but not far..just for the fresh air really.. :) I have said a few prayers of Toni and Lucy that all is well and they have a good holiday.. :)
Lover to all that are missing...xxxxx

Evening to one and all. hope everyone is as ok as possible.

A pleasant day, warm in the sunshine. I think the country has been divided by a band of rain in the south and pleasant up on the north.

Hi Joan - no, don't tell us the heating has not been working again. What are we going to do. Let's hope he fixes it today. I know ours looses pressure over time and we have to top it up, by turning a screw on the main inlet. I am always nervous of doing it.

The two Sisters, of course, well remembered Joan, I am sure Barbara will let us know how they are doing.

Hope you can manage to keep warm until the boiler man comes to fix it. Goodness, it must have cost the association the price of three boilers, by the time they are done.

Hi Barbara It was a crazy week end, each event not being a worry or a problem in itself, but when you add them all up and they run one after the other, it nearly floored me. I don't feel right yet, even though we have had a quiet day, just one visit to the neighbours to check the computer, otherwise pottering. I think it will take me all week to recover.

I do remember you talking of the neighbours wisteria. It must have been horrid having rats climb up but I would have rather got rid of the rats than the wisteria, especially if it was festooned in flowers. We could have asked Joan and Sue to come round with the doggies, they would have sorted the ratties. I don't like rats at all.
That is no age Barbara, just numbers, you stick to 20, I do.:lol: I was a second year Student Nurse then.

Hope you enjoyed your trip out for taking the air :)

I did some watering with next doors hosepipe, it is on our side of the garden, so ideal. Our water rates are all included in the ground rent, so we can use as much as we like, as most of it is on a bore hole rather than the mains. Sometimes they switch over. Anyway, I pottered with the hose and watered all the pots. Things are recovering from that hard frost we had, even the wisteria has new leaves (no flowers  ).
OH was out pottering and watering at the front.

I thought I would fuss in the kitchen, sent tonic water flying everywhere, then decided to fuss with the gas hop and clean it (even though it is spotless). I managed to set fire to a tea towel.  Talk about being a liability.
I gave up after that, my hands were just not coordinating.

Hoping that Toni and family arrived safe and sound, sending prayers for a lovely holiday.

Hi to Carol, Christine, Mig, Charrisse, Elizabeth, Kerrin hugs to one and all.

All the babies have been fussed, fed and stroked and they are all tucked up in their pens, nice and warm, heat lamps on should they need them.

Off to the GC today, then to get some" bits" from Sainsbury's, that will be enough.

Take lots of care XXXX Aidan

I was in a lot of pain this morning, as I am most mornings (I know this applies to us all) but we went on the Sawley trail and had a nap when we got back. Feeling quite a bit better now.

Think I'll stroll around and enjoy our gorgeous pets for some cuddles and stroking. Not forgetting delicious milk and relaxing lavender pats.
