Evening to all - I agree Barbara, it has suddenly gone warm, very warm.
Goodness knows what we will be like come mid summer. Dreading it.
I know it has warmed up, I met the first BIG spider of the year, sitting in the wardrobe, looking at me when I opened the door.  I was very brave, not, I was a big Jessie and shouted OH to come and rescue the situation. Goodness, it is only just May and they are on the prowl until end of September. Don't mention spi***s to Toni though. I have my sprays and bug zapper by my bedside now, dusted down and ready for war.

I am glad to hear that the Sisters are ok, even if the bacon is a little soft, bless her. Nice that they have rooms near to each other and I am sure they feel more secure and safe, with staff there 24 hours a day.
I have seen the Fever Tree one but not tried it, I will do though. I am completely hooked on it, so is my Aunt, lol.

The GC was nice and quiet, very calm. Mum was not too good, so we didn't hang about after we had finished our coffee's and scones, rang her this evening and she is feeling a lot better. I think she is just super tired and not eating much doesn't help.

Tried to have a nap, but I was wide awake, looking around in case more spiders appeared.  :? Plus my knees and back were shrieking and the cats were messing about.

Poor puskins, I hope it is ok. You are so good taking it in and then arranging for it to be taken to the cats protection. We would have done the same.

You will sleep well tonight I hope, after a disturbed night watching puskins.

Here is a pic of the mice (flowers) on the mouse plant. So cute. 20170502_123335_zpsljrdihpo.jpg

Hi Joan, good that you are both getting out and about, with the doggies, water on board too.
I hope your heating is up and running again, it is warm in the day, but cooler at nights still. Fancy, they work 24 hours a day and never said. Dreadful.

Hi Kath, sorry you were in a lot of pain, indeed, my sympathies are extended to you, it is a battle and no denying. Good that you went on the Sawley trail and had a nice nap when you got back.
All the babies will love the fuss and attention, they are all feeding well and Barbara is a superstar for keeping the bottles full. Take care xx

Ohhhhh hello there Toni, SO glad to hear that you all arrived safely. The hotel is lovely and you are next door to Lucy, excellent, you can keep a close eye :)
Diddicat was over while we were out at the GC and Pepe had his first lesson on the broomstick, he did quite well, just up and over a few rooftops and back again. He landed in a heap, but was ok.

There has been a lot of carpet gliding and clicking !!!

Enjoy your hols, looking forward to some piccies :)

Well I had better move, I am setting like concrete. Hi to Christine, Kerrin, Mig, Charrisse, Elizabeth, Carol and all.

Everyone take lots of care XXXX Aidan

    Hi everyone.

Back in civilisation after 5 days with the kids on a farm in Gloucestershire. Body feeling a bit tender today but have the day off. Kids are very lucky as they are having a visit today by Michael Morpego and HRH Duchess of Cambridge. I missed all that excitement! Kids back on Friday.

Seeing a friend shortly, hair cut and possibly movie with OH later.

Weather is really yuck in Kent today.

There are 4 horses on the farm. Kids only get to feed and groom them, not allowed to ride. It is a bit of a shame my half of the week was the wrong half, but hey ho.

Still deciding about going to the movies. Quite happy hibernating.

Hi to everyone. Late as ever. A pleasant day, warm in the sun, but a nice breeze to keep me on the right side of melting.

Hi Kerrin - you will need to put your feet up, have some pampering and hair do etc, after a busy time away. Shame to miss MM and HRH, but needs must when your batteries need a recharge. I am sure you are feeling a bit tender.

Hope you had a good time with your friend and enjoyed the movie with OH

Hi Barbara - Mum was feeling better when we phoned last night (wed) and it was nice to have a quiet time at the GCenter.
Glad you like the photo of the Mouse Plant ( Arisarum proboscideum) is its Latin name. I had to copy and paste the name, I would be here till Doomsday trying to spell it :lol:  They originate from Spain and Italy, but are super hardy in the UK, down to minus 10 - 15. I took the pic on my new S8, all singing all dancing super phone 8) 8)

I was fine with spiders, until some horrors at school put a huge one down my back, which completely freaked me out - since then, I have been bordering on phobic about them. That was at Senior school too. Bullies. Shame on them.
I have read a lot about the false widow spiders that live in the UK, mainly down south, but they are working their way up the country, due to the milder winters. I think a bite is more like a wasp sting, but some people do have a bad reaction to them, just as you can with bee's, wasps etc.
They always end up in the press, who freak us all out with HUGE pictures of them.

I did manage to nap today, which was very much needed. We went out for lunch, then I whizzed round the big Tesco in one of their buggies, OH walking along briskly, (which he really misses, having to go so slow when I am on foot), then fuel, then home.

I bet Jake was most put out when he got scent of another cat. Poor mite, I hope they find a caring home, one that keeps it as a house cat, like ours are.

Your GP sounds like our surgery, they are always keen on follow up appointments, which is only right. hope all went ok.
I am at the Surgery today, 6 monthly Diabetic check up, bloods, wee tests etc. I know my bloods are fine, as I check them regularly, but, they do specific tests when they send samples away.

Hi Joan, sorry that you have been taken for a ride with the so called "service" of your boiler. I would be writing to the association manager. You, Sue and the doggies, take lots of care, hope the heating is now fixed and running.

Hi Toni, how lovely to be sat by the pool, soaking up the Vitamin D, with a cooling breeze, blue skies, everyone doing well, batteries on recharge. You enjoy every single minute.

Miss Sleek said she had been on Snapchat (she is one up on me for sure).

Dust gliding, well, I will mention it to Pepe, but we don't have a lot of dust, lol.

He did do well on his flying lesson and I think there was another lesson while we were out for lunch. I suspect there was a bumpy landing, as all the cushions were scattered about  Tufts of fur and evidence of carpet clicking. Tut tut. Mayonnaise on the PC, think they had a wail of a time.

Right I had better potter a little. I am setting. I must must remember to keep up with my diprobase cream, my hands are all splitting and bleeding - it's my own fault, thinking they were ok so missing out on the creams. That will teach me.

Everyone take care, love to all, Mig, Christine, Elizabeth, Charrisse, Kath.............

Afternoon to one and all, a lovely sunny day, but blowing a fair old wind.

Hi Joan, goodness, you have to have the heating on 30 !! until the new part arrives, you will melt.  I would have to move out, so would Barbara.

Everything was ok at the diabetic check thanks Joan. I have to see Sister next week, as I have been having more hypo's recently. As the HCA said, you know what you are doing anyway, but best to see her so that she is up to date with what is going on.
Blood pressure, pulse, wee, all ok, bloods gone off to the lab. She asked if I missed nursing and I said a resounding "NO".:lol:

Hi Barbara, couldn't you just snuggle up with that kitten, bless. I hope your rescue puskins finds a home as soon as can be. If they are so used to being outside then they do cause a fuss. Ours could not care less, they know which side their bread is buttered.

Bill walks really fast when he gets the chance, it is only me that slows things down to a snails pace. I love to go at speed round the shops in a buggy, if OH is pushing me, then I don't get chance to grab things off the shelves :lol:

My hands are being rescued with the cream, I keep applying it as often as possible, but, you know me, I am forever in the sink, or cleaning something

So your pregabalin has been increased, what dose are you on now? I take 400mg a day at the moment. Statins do seem to cause problems with muscle pain etc. Some say it is not proven, others say they cannot tolerate them at all, due to their side effects. After 20 years of taking them, I cannot say that I have had any serious problems with them.
It won't hurt to leave them off for a week or so, just to see.

Hope your OH had a nice round trip with your GD, dentist and school, I remember you said it was quite a journey, but you don't mind helping :)

Hi Kath, so glad you are feeling better today, that is always pleasing news. He is a cutie little ginger kitten, your fav too, so I chose well.
I am not good with iPads or Apple things, otherwise I would walk you through it if it was android or windows. Hope you are having some pleasant weather.

I was in and out of the surgery, before my appointment time ! so that was good, I said let's get there early, there was no one about being lunchtime and I was straight in :) I walked out of the lift, then my name pinged up on the board.

Popped into Booth's supermarket, they do wonderful cooked chicken, so guess what was for lunch :) Pepe enjoyed a dish full too and is now very busy

    :animal_busy:
OH has watered the pots, they soon dry out when it is warm and windy. He said he has washed the dust off the car, not sure if it is all streaky......never mind, we can give it a do tomorrow.

Off to the GC in the morning with Mum n Dad, cannot go too long without our coffee and scones.

Hi to everyone else, Toni, Mig, Charrisse, Elizabeth, Christine, Kerrin, Carol and all.

I will potter a little more, sort some washing. I know how to have fun, lol.

afternoon all warm and windy here..but waiting in for a parcel that hasn't arrived..couldn't even sit in the back because you m cant hear the door..
Aiden you mentioned bully's..they can have an everlasting effect on people.. such a shame when you come across them..I was thrown in the deep end of the swimming pool at school so never learned to swim after that..
So the cream is doing is working on your hands..good they must be sore...I am now on 350 twice a day now, I didnt know they can cause bruising..and did wonder about the little knock I have had turning blue...I really dont like taking it, but came off the co-codamols ...so the car has been washed and tomorrow is the GC...think that is were we will end up... :D now your mouse plants I would try selling cutting if I were you..its hard to get, 2 GCs on line sold out..one on ebay with not very good feedback..I will try our GC tomorrow..a couple on amazon...so might try them if I cant get it ... :) hope all is well next week..
Kath so glad to hear you are feeling better...long may it continue...and hopefully that I pad will start behaving...
Right away again to get my tea...boiled egg and beans on toast just what I fancied...
    Love to all xxxxx

Seems I haven't been in the cafe for a few days. I was sure I had been. I've read through but am too tired now to reply so I'll just say hello before I head for bed.

Aiden, hope mum is ok and rested up.

    Toni, enjoy the sun.

Barbara, hope the cat is ok. There have been 3 white cats lost here this week.

Kath, I hope the pain has eased a bit now.

Joan, I can't believe your heating has been playing up again.

My boss made me another cup of tea today with a big smile. Then asked if I would do a favour and mop the floor in the shed. When I say the shed, it is the size of a very small bungalow and has a running machine, a rowing machine, pool table and music system. Managed to cut back the hedge a little this afternoon. Not doing too much as there is usually a nest in there.

Evening to one and all. Hope you have had a pleasant day.........

Hi Barbara - Hope your parcel arrived, nothing worse than sat in waiting - and waiting. Bullies are just so low, that is dreadful, throwing you in the pool, I have heard of that happening to quite a few people. No wonder you never wanted to learn to swim.
I remember when I left school half way through my A levels, to go into nursing, those that had been horrid over the years, apologised profusely. I just said, what goes around, comes around. See ya.
That was it, I have never met up or contacted anyone from school. There were only a few, who thought it fun to make life miserable for others.

That is quite a high dose of pregabalin, I thought the max dose was 600mg, maybe I am mistaken. Like most drugs, they have a whole range of side effects, if you read through the side effects of all the drugs we take  :?
I take co codamol, pregablin, amitryp and tramadol and still get a deal of pain.  But, we carry on :)

The mouse plants do seem hard to get, I know we got our first one from a local nursery.

I have found this link from the RHS, of sellers who have the mouse tail plant for sale.
    https://www.rhs.org.uk/Plants/Nurseries-Search-Result?query=1569
Hope you manage to find one.

Boiled eggs and beans on toast, mmmmm, we like b beans, with veggie burgers and chips :)

Hi Christine - I am sure your Boss is going to increase your salary, just a feeling in my bones. Making T, that is twice now  The "shed" sounds more like a bungalow, bet it took ages. Don't worry, the days fly by and are gone in a flash, as long as you are as ok as can be. Sounds like you need a good nights rest.

Nice to potter a little in the garden, we are keeping an eye on our hawthorn hedges, the sparrows are very interested in them, apart from catching flies and having a noisy meeting in there a few times a day.
OH planted 36 little sticks a few years back and now the hedges are 6 foot tall and lovely and bushy. We like to keep them tidy but don't want to upset any birdies.

Mum is feeling better, we checked tonight and she is looking forward to meeting up at the GC today. She has her warfarin check, so we will go earlier and get our fav table. The amount of times we are there, it should have our names on it :)

I had better move, his Lordship has pinched my gel cushion  so I am setting very quickly.

Hi to everyone Toni, Carol, Kerrin, Mig, Elizabeth, Charrisse and all.

Take lots of care n night XX Aidan

Afternoon to all, sunny, with a pleasant breeze, not a howling wind that we had yesterday. Just stealing a few moments, before the next round of pills.

Hi Joan, as you say, at least you have the heating and you do feel the cold more than others, so best for you both to be warm. Hope they sort the boiler soon. Glad you were not stranded for long with your buggy and that yours is back up and running again.

Hi Barbara Bullies are far more nasty, especially with all the social media that we have these days, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat etc etc.

1000mg is a huge dose, way above what I read as the maximum daily dose. I have some lee way then at least. I tend to keep the Tramadol down to three a day, I can take eight, but I would rather have something in reserve.
The drugs do affect your cognition, without a doubt. I was looking in the cupboard for the kettle the other day  I forget things, far more than I used to. A rock and a hard place really. We need our pain relief, but we pay with side effects.

I cannot take things like brufen or voltarol either.

The sparrows are loving the hawthorn hedge, they chase the greenflies and other bugs. I think they feel safe in there, out of the reach of pus cats etc.

So your OH wants a "man cave" as they seem to call them now. You do right, keep a hold of the key :lol:
What a pain, no parcel, did they deliver today and leave it in a safe place? We have a garden box that the posty and other delivery companies use, it is so quiet here and we have never had anything go missing.

Hoping that puskins is ok, poor thing, must have been hit in the face. I am certain it will find a loving home.

Hi Toni, phew, you were lucky with the sun beds, it must be very busy. You relax with your drink, how kind of Paul to fetch and carry for you :) :sun:

Glad you are all ok and you have been in touch with Miss Sleek. Nice that there are some pus cats there, to pet.

Pepe did mention his theory test, there doesn't seem to be much revision going on at the moment :animal_busy:
I think they both went out for a whizz round the park this morning, it was less windy, so Pepe managed to stay on course :?
I will test him on his pawception this evening.

Right my lovelies, I must away and sort out my pills. Everyone take lots of care, hi to all those who are not in at the moment. Catch you later XXXX Aidan

Afternoon to all. Cloudy today, but pleasant with it.

So, it is naked gardening day is it Joan,  I won't bother either. I don't think the world is ready for me to be wobbling about in between the plant pots. :? :?:lol: Some things are better covered :o I wonder how many people actually joined in, lol. I am sure the press will be on the hunt for someone.
You have a good week end too, love to both and to the doggies too.

Hi Barbara I wonder if Toni is sipping a g and t by the pool? It's tough, but it has to be done ;)

I remember when I saw the Rheumy, a fair few years back, (he had the charm of a spitting cobra).
Oh take 400 pregabalin and 200 amitryp. 200 Amitryptiline, I don't think so Mr. 75 is fine thank you very much. Needless to say I refused to go back and see him again. We have a GP at the surgery who specialised in orthopaedics, so I see him if needs be. Other than that I see my own GP and my Cardio, between them, they are a tour de force :)

I do hope you find one of the mouse plants, they are fascinating without a doubt. All their tails sticking out, lol.

Pepe said it is the week end so he is not learning any theory until monday. I suspect Miss Slimkins will be over later when we are having a nap. It is quite breezy, so not sure if she will take him out on a fly by, or just do some carpet gliding and clicking.
She is missing Mummy, but is being very well cared for - Pepe said don't tell Toni, so I won't :?

I bet you were tempted to keep puskins, but I am so glad there is a home for him / her. Bless. The others would probably go for it and you don't want fights in the house.

Dash cam, oh, very posh. A lot of people are using them now, to try and stop the ever growing insurance scams that people do. Like reversing into cars and then claiming injuries compensation. They also take the bulbs out of the break lights, so you have no warning that they are going to stop. The lengths people will go to, just amazes me.

Right, OH is round next door, fixing their security camera networking............beyond me. I am staying home and have the kettle on ready for tea and catching up with the washing etc.

I had better move. Everyone take lots of care, will pop in later. XXX Aidan

Aiden, I remember going to the local swimming pool with my cousin. Twice I was knocked in to the deep end. Got pulled out by a pool attendant one time. I've been terrified of water since although once when in Jamaica and after a couple of Red Stripe lagers, I was in the sea doing back stroke. Didn't work the next day though. I don't blame you not wanting to have anything to do with those people from school. Why would you. They're not worth the effort. I hope your bones are right about my wage rise. Maybe I'll get a lump sum, enough to retire on.

Joan, thank goodness Sue managed to get hold of your friend to bring her scooter so you could get home. Glad yours is fixed now. Naked gardeners day? Brrr, no thanks.

Oh Barbara, are you planning on locking your OH in the shed? A lot of men seem to like the idea of their very own shed. I'm sure the little cat will be well looked after now. It can be tempting to keep animals. My daughter's dog was a tiny puppy thrown on the road when she found him. She has been tempted with several others but decided she couldn't keep them all. Glad you found your parcel. I've heard some people say they found theirs in their bin.

Toni, what a hard time you are having over there, sitting by the pool with a drink in your hand and stroking the hotel cats. Hope you are all rested and Lucy is keeping well.

I've went next door again a few hours ago after putting up with that awful noise all morning tearing my hair out. The man was in the garden so I asked him if there was any chance of getting it fixed. He was not happy, quite annoyed I'd said something. 'First of all', he said, 'If you've got anything to say, wait till you see my car and come and talk to me and me alone, not my wife as she's not well.' I mentioned to him that a friend had suggested turning the stop cock down a bit. 'Oh so you've been talking to a friend about MY TAPS have you?' he shouted. He said he'd already turned it right down and I could report him until he could save up to get a new boiler. When I told him it was giving me a headache and I was having to go out to get away from the noise, he said, 'Well we have to live with it as well you know.' Then he said there was a plumber coming next Friday so I left. A few minutes later, he came banging on my door. When I opened it, he said he'd been fiddling with a valve so there shouldn't be any more noise and there hasn't been. If he'd only done that in the first place. Oh and I've sent an email to environmental health to get some advice just in case.

Just watching Big House Little House. It's about doing diy and extensions. This one a couple are having the loft converted in to a bedroom with an en suite. How big must that loft be? :o
