Hang on a mo....
That's all of our bedding everyone's
Straight in the freezer!! Thanks Joan good tip and thanks for being there tonight too
Barbara they were nice to you with those balloons
Paul wants to get his mum that aircon the same one as Aidan has in the argos. It is a bargain ours was way more but it was an emergency when Lucy had that seizure in the heat Paul bought it while I looked after her.
I'm so glad your MP is on board. I take it it's not the lovely Andy Burnham now who Lucy met?
Plenty of supplies ready then for later lemonade a great idea Aidan. No I do not think it's coffee at all rather some sludge :? Remember this is the notorious Stafford hospital I hope you agree it's actually rather good (apart form the coffee
Miss Sleek has been over twice today once first thing and then as soon as I went to the dentist with Charley. On way back I got waylaid by the marquee ready for the weekend's village activities.
On Saturday it's the Beer Fest and Sunday Champagne and salmon lunch
There is a paw print on my calendar for Thursday 6th July. Maybe that is THE day???
Excellent ice-cream would be lovely and lollies Christine. I've never had a CT before Lucy has had a fait few and Charley had one so this will be a first better than MRIs
Salads for Paul and and nothing much else ATM it's too hot!!
I think the boss's mum just likes your company bless her
I'm glad the meal was lovely and you saw all the scarecrows with your GD. Ours are looking good, but we need a few more I think.
I hope Kath is feeling better today and less ouchy.
Same for everyone else who hasn't been in yet.
Love
Toni (getting dinner sorted early so I can ready myself for CT) xxxx0 -

Yes much cooler ..
Aiden thankyou for the link will go and look now..just wondering what is the difference between CT scans and MRIs..i has MRIs on my back..but not sure with my head..lemonade and ice sounds good to me..I will bring clotted cream and Jam for the scones
Good luck Toni..we promise to be good..maybe we could sing to you while in the CT can..then again...yes they were very kind going to the trouble of blowing up balloons for me.. yes I liked Andy..but they have changes our boundary..not one bit pleased..
Joan glad the open door keeps you nice and cool..we ended up with back and front open..but put a stool at the back of the front door then no one could sneak in..
Right off to look at Aidens link..
Love to everyone xxxxxxLove

Evening all
Sorry I missed you all yesterday But had super busy and super hot day we hit 34c degrees oh my it was really hot. I went to my knitting group and we were all sweating buckets all afternoon the library dosent have air conditioning. it was so hot that the wheels on my rollator must have got sticky with the heat and as I walked up the road all the dried blossom from the trees was sticking to the wheels. the bottom of my sandals were the same. today is much cooler with more breeze top temperature today has been 24c much more pleasant. hoping for a better nights sleep tonight.
Aidan Mr T hates spiders too they don't bother me my pet hate is mice I see one of them I just freeze. those warthogs are mucky little devils. noticed our tapiers are good swimmers too. Not sure what s in hospital coffee maybe its best we don't. did not sleep a lot at all last night fa too hot hoping for a better night tonight.
Yes Joan I have done the wrists under the cod water before it dose work but not for long.
Toni a few of our zoo inhabitants are mucky little devils and a few are very greedy with the fruit. yes Aidan knows about the Spiders and I could imagine our Lillie kissing them too given half the chance.
Barbara the heat was awful here yesterday no way of staying cool yesterday as at knitting in the library today we have only reached 24c 10 lower than yesterday. but so refreshing after days and days of heat.
Christine in our house it has been I only cook what can be put in the oven on the hob and left to cook.
must go and have a little potter and do a couple of odd jobs before bed should be a better nights sleep tonight
Good Night to one and all.Stay positive always👍xx0 -
Ah, so that's where our bedding went, into Joan's freezer.
We could have done with the cloak being chilled, it was a tad warm, mind you Hospitals are notoriously hot and bothersome places, where people dehydrate. I still have my little red book that you had to complete during your training and one thing was "ventilation of the ward" - windows were opened, come rain or shine. Fresh air was a must.
I digress. It was lovely of the Dr's to give Barbara some balloons to play with, see Toni, nothing to worry about at all :? :?
"the" Stafford Hospital, right, I see...........hhhmmm. I am sure it has moved on and pulled it's socks up. No, it isn't coffee, it is something that has been dredged
The first AC unit that I bought, many years ago when I lived in Skipton, cost a small fortune  We had just come back from a long holiday in the USA, so we just had to have AC. It was vented through the wall, which makes things that bit easier. You had to empty the condenser tray every so often, not like the new ones, that self evaporate.
The one in Argos is def the newer model of ours, well worth the money. I am sure Paul's Mum will appreciate it, Wed night was just horrendous.
Pepe is definitely off it, quite skittish and a little phased. I think the impending test is playing on his mind. I think the 6th of July is the day, I heard them whispering, on Miss Sleeks second visit. The paw print is a certain clue.
Sounds like a busy week end in the Village. Beer festival, Salmon and Champagne lunch, how refined. 8) 8)
Puts the duck race in a dry stream, in our next village, to shame  I think it is going to rain tomorrow, so all being well there will be enough to float a duck.
Hope Charley's dental treatment was of great benefit, no shame in wanting Mum there, none at all.
I would be fine with the CT scanner, they are nice and open and you can see around, the MRI's are not for me, they would not get me in the room again, once was enough. Severe claustrophobia, was not nice at all. I had to be scooped out, after all of 20 seconds.
Some people find them quite relaxing and nod off.  Different strokes for different folks.
Hope all has gone well.
Hi Barbara, yes, it has been cooler today, thank goodness. CT scans are a huge step up from normal x rays, giving much more detail, measurements, etc. MRI's are even more detailed and give a super clear imaging.
The clotted cream and jam was lovely with the scones, I think we may have dropped some jam :? ooops. Sing, of course, we need to sing, it is choir practice night. We can sing very quietly.
Hope you managed to sing the praises of an AC unit.
They changed the boundaries here, a fair few years back, Clitheroe was in N Yorks, but is now in Lancashire, only just.
Hi there Carol Don't worry about yesterday, it was an extreme of heat that we are not used to. 34 is sill temp for the UK, we had 30 - 31 and even by midnight it was over 20. I am not surprised things stuck to your shoes and rollator. Roads have been melting, in fact everyone has been melting.
Today has been better, without a doubt. I am warm, but not in a complete lather.
I remember when we drove through Death Valley, mid day, in July, we stopped at an old Borax mine for a nosey round and my canvas shoes had rubber soles and they melted through mind you it was way over 50 in the sun.
I am with Mr T on the spid--- front. We will let you sort them out. fortunately Bill is fine with them, just picks them up and throws them outside, while I go round like a big ninny. Mice, well, we had them in France, so I don't really mind them. If one popped out of a cupboard I might squeak though :?
I think all our lovelies in the zoo need a good bath, apart from the ones who wallow in their pools or mud. Blush is covered in fruit juice, as are the lemurs and sloths. We will have to sponge them all down, freshen them up after the hot weather.
The meerkats don't think it has been hot and they said they do not need a bath thank you, lol. They have dust baths, a bit like Miss Sleek.
Hope you manage to sleep better tonight.
Well, I had best have a potter and come back in a while.................I am chair shaped and will be walking like Mrs Overall.
That's a little better, another Tramadol for good measure.
We had a nice coffee and scones at the GC, Mum was ok and enjoyed her scone
Some shopping and then home.
Managed to get some washing and drying done, some dusting too. Everywhere gets a fine layer when you have fans going all the time.
I hope everyone else is ok, Kath, less ouchy, hugs as always. Kerrin, hope things are not too hectic at school.
Charrisse, Elizabeth, Christine, Mig, DD and all................let's hope we all get a better nights rest.
N Night all XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
It is very good to see Mum ate her scone Aidan
As for the scone crumbs - there were a few on the floor in the CT room I saw the technician kick them away
It was ok wasn't it? That 'window' above was so pretty and realistic. It helped, but keeping totally still when you have an itch isn't easy is it :? That's when I remembered you were all there with me
One day I might get some balloons from the hospital how kind they were to Barbara.
I have the cloak ready and it can go in the freezer with our spare bedding. Bedding is all labelled ready so collect your own set as and when
Both of my parents died at Stafford Hospital within the window, but they had the very best of care there, (not so the local one, but that's another story), it was just scapegoated and the campaign group, (probably after compensation), gave it to the Govt on a plate. Now many local hospitals have been downgraded.
It is July 6th because I spotted Miss Slimkins has been checking weather and thermals for that date. She left the page open on the laptop.
If you get near the duck race you must take a photo. We had rain I hope you did too.
Who has bathed all the babies!! They look so sweet and fluffy I think Johnny must have been on last night bless him sorting them all out for us.
Who came to choir? Some of you did I heard extra singing
Carol I hope you were able to 'rescue' your rollator wheels and your shoes. Last night was way more comfy to sleep.
Knitting in the library must have been sweltering  Can't have been easy.
I bet Lillie would kiss the spiders too bless her. I hope she keeps being not scared as she grows up.
Barbara - no Andy - you have a different boundary. Shame, but this one sounds good so far.
Are these your balloons??
CT is the polo mint so you can see around you all the time MRI is the tunnel a bit more scary  Although the MRI shows fabulous images it is the scary one and takes forever and goes BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!!!!!
Lucy slept in them she has 10's of them when she was poorly with a cage over her face as they were checking her brain.
Joan I know you'll be here I put all our bedding in the café freezer if you need it. It is REALLY cool
Did I miss Christine?
I hope Kerrin is ok and survived the week. Charisse and Elizabeth too.
Also worried about our Kath who was in pain last time she was in. :?
Love to everyone

Carol you take care walking in the wind.
take care everyone and have a good weekend.
Joan xxtake care

Hi Joan Thanks I hope they find something too. You have a good weekend yourselves
Barbara it WAS you singing!!!! I knew it You tried and you got the words at least.
You should be on a mission to get your road made safer. Gosh no path and people driving like that
Andy is Mayor??!! Well good on him that's all I can say
I nearly lost it in the MRI scanner myself, but CTs are NOTHING like them at all you can see all around you. As for the BANG BANG BANGING!! Honestly then the DRRRRRRRRRRR DRRRRRRRR!
Yes Stafford hospital did a good job for us and Lucy was born there too Not Charley she was too early so we went to Stoke instead where they have a neonatal unit.
Take care everyone.
All animals safe and sound fed and watered handed over to Johnny for the night.

Evening all
Just a quickie post before I go of to bed. not a bad day today quite pleasant weather at 24 at its highest. have not done any more to teddy since my 3 rows at the library on Wednesday when it was to hot to do any more. not all good today as have had news that the card people that I get my cards for charity from is having cash flow problems and are having to put the business into administration to try and save the business so we will now have to be patient and see what happens next. hopefully the company can be saved and we can continue we have been told just to carry on as normal at this time. we were warned that this may be the case back in March.
also Mr T is being a real pain to be able to have any conversation with always too busy to listen to me but expects me to listen to him going on about an m3 player which he brought yesterday which did not work and, was returned today a new one supplied in its place but which also dose not work so it has to go back too. the trouble is then when he hears about something that is going on from so other source and he tells me and I say yes I know he get all huffy and comes out with well you never said.
any way will read your post and answer more tomorrow
Night allStay positive always👍xx0 -
Well, where did Friday go? Now it is just Saturday, so a very early morning to one and all.
Hi Toni, it was good to see Mum eating her scone, more of it than normal
Glad we didn't make too much mess in the CT room. Good of the Technician to kick them out of sight. :?
No, keeping still whenever someone says keep still, it bad enough, let alone when you have an itch............ I think Kath had a back scratch stick, so she might have used that. The MRI is deff the one that goes BANG BANG BANG, sounds like the whole thing will fall apart
I am sure they will give you some balloons, worry not  :?
It was a pleasure to be there to assist as required, that cloak was a God send.
I have taken our bedding out of the freezer, we are back down to far more normal temps, where you can actually feel comfortable and not be in a permanent lather.
Stafford hosp was certainly in the news, as you say, once they get their media claws in and suddenly everything and everybody comes out from the woodwork, fact or fiction. Indeed there were errors and lack of judgement, but I am sure they have been rectified. I am very glad to hear that your parents had the best of care.
It is a bit like our big hospital in Blackburn, (Barbara knows it), so may people rant and rave how horrid it is, how the care is terrible, how this and how that.............well, all the care that my late Mum was given, was second to none and all the care that Mum no. 2 has had, has been just the same, excellent. All of them work to their capacity and beyond and provide a great service. There will always be an exception, in all disciplines, where things do not go right. That is what people focus on, not the good things that happen day in, day out................
OK, enough of being Matron now Aidan.
I have put the test date on my google calendar now, so it is set in stone. Pepe saw me put it on, he recognised Mr Potter :?
Yes, we have had rain, steady on and off for most of the day. It has been windy here too, I think Miss Sleek and Pepe have been out practicing landing and taking off in a side wind and how to handle broomstick turbulence. ( I think Pepe was a little tizziky after that)
I think Barbara and Kath and Carol came to choir practice, I had to get back to see to the puskins. They said they would sing SO loud, whilst still in hiding under the cloak
Hi Barbara ohhh, you have been on a mission, let me read on......
SO, the Council cannot do anything about the road problems, that is terrible. The Police would surely recommend to the Council that something should be put in place. It is not really your job to stick notices on cars that are illegally parked. After all, part of our Council tax goes to the Police force.
You could always drop the Chief Inspector for your area a line or two, expressing your concerns, with photo's etc. Tell him or her that you are going to be in touch with your MP.
Ah, see, I thought you would be singing as part of the choir backing group.
You have done very well with your MRI's, I am very proud of you, it is me being a big ninny. I used to stay with patients and tell them they would be fine  :?  put me in, not a hope.............
It is cooler and far more pleasant.
Hi Joan, hope you are both ok and the doggies are enjoying the weather now it is a bit cooler.
Mum and Dad are ok thank you, we keep our eyes on them on a regular basis.
It was Barbara Toni, the screech, sorry, singing, from under the cloak. Good that she had all the words though.
Thank you for checking on all the animals, Johnny will make sure they are all well cared for overnight.
Hi Carol Good that your weather has calmed down, mind you, 24 I would still be melting. Compared to 32, it is a lot better though. I think we are down to about 15 now, wonderful. Roll on Autumn
That is not good news about the charity card company, let's hope that a solution can be found and as you say, just carry on as you have been doing.
Oh dear, sending positive vibes out to Mr T, who is obviously not very happy with his technology...........two of the same, not working, oh dear me. Yes dear, whatever you say dear. If a third one does not work, you will have to pack and say "I am going away for a break, byeeeeeeeeeee"
Leaving hugs. ((()))
Well, I had better move, it is nearly 1am. I hope everyone else is ok, Kath, Christine, Charrisse, Kerrin, Mig Elizabeth and all.
Time to potter, needs must. N Night all, take care XXXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
That is a peaceful good night Aidan - they could pop that above the CT scanner every now and then in exchange for the sunny one
Today has dawned bright and ready for 'beer fest' which starts this afternoon at 3pm. We have about 8 beers 4 lagers and 2 ciders. Soft drinks and prosecco also available. I can't stand the stuff though.....prosecco. shudder!! I will probably drive everyone down. Charley and her gf will be there Tia and her bf.
The CT room was pretty clean I thought maybe the technician thought it was messy before I (we) went in
Shall we take scratch sticks with us for procedures like this? Non-metal is it Kath?
I have no idea why people have to criticise hospitals. The work they do is wonderful in the main. Of course there is the odd person who isn't so nice. There was one on the YPU who luckily moved wards not long after Lucy started her treatment.
It's good to hear that Mum is getting excellent care now that she needs it. Hope she eats ok today.
Miss Sleek has just walked in the door from practise. She has purchased a 'tail band' for Pepe. It's like those travel sickness bands for humans just goes on a pressure point in the tail. She got it from Catazon. His broomstick is having a service next week at Halpaws to make sure it's in tip top condition and balanced correctly. Mr Potter checks them before the test.
I think Barbara thoroughly enjoyed her singing!! Bless her. Sue, the headteacher at school who 'manages' us kept listening to see who it was
Carol naughty MR T!! Won't listen to you then gets hoity toity that you haven't told him something when you did!!
I don't know what the techie thing is he bought either, but he sounds just like Paul chucking the jet-washer last week when he couldn't get it to work   Oh how much patience do we need??
I do hope the card company gets saved. Trouble is there are so many super-cheap card shops these days aren't there? Fingers crossed.
Oh dear it's gone cloudy now. Hope it keeps dry at least else the car-park (field) will be awash...all proceeds are going to the Teenage Cancer Trust and to our Church.
Love to you all
Toni xxx0 -
Morning all...
Joan I will carry on till they do something.. I can take so much ..the neighbours are joining in now so not on my own..hope you Sue and the doggies are doing ok..
Aiden..the email off the council said that if there were restriction IE yellow lines then thy could be stopped form parking on the rd ..if not its hard ..they have to be there and they haven't got the resources..good idea to get on to the chief inspector..I agree we pay our council tax..I have sent both pics to our MP so fingers crossed..they do say we are having a bypass to the motorway but I think it will be years away ..if it happens at all
Yes sorry it was me singing ..do you think I have improved a little.. I can take it on the chin..
yes Blackburn hospital really look after my brother , I agree there will always be some complaints..they can only do there best with what they have..I honestly don't think I could do another MRI..so you are not on your own..it took my breath away..
Toni maybe if I join your choir I will pick up some notes.. :? you enjoy the beer fest..I remember now the CT scan like a polomint..much better than the horrible MRIs..and the headphones weren't working the last one I had..I hope they collect lots of money such good causes
Carol we cant do with then ans cant do without them..have I said that right.. my OH talks with his arms.. I do hope the card firm is taken over , then you dont have to look further a field..
I have got a neighbour much younger than me to help when the leaflets come..he is sick of the parking and speeding has they have 2 daughters..and he worry's about them crossing this rd..so at least I have backup... some good news my niece has just sent me a pic of a ring..her OH asked her to marry him last night after being together for 16 years ...
Love to everyone xxxxxxxLove

Afternoon to all, nice, sunshine and clouds with a strong breeze, just right temperature
They could chop and change the pictures in the CT room, or even have a screen, that changes images, or would that be a step too far......... :?
You will now be at the "beer Fest" in the village. Does everyone take something along? I will stick to the soft drinks with you. Prosecco, eeew, like bathroom cleaner. Given all the raving about it and it is the must have drink. Is it, really. Tea or coffee thank you:)
Nice that everyone will be there though Charlie and Tia and their GF's.
Yes we can have a scratch stick, a wooden one with the hand on the end, no metal ones or they will go flying. Will come in handy I am sure.
When something goes wrong, especially in a hospital, then the media are all over it like a rash, whipping everyone into a frenzy. Of course there are errors, wherever humans are involved in any process or practice, once in a while, things go ooops. To err is human.........
Mum and Dad came in for their coffee and Sat croissants, Mum ate all hers, she was cold, so we put the fire on a while  it is off now, phew. She is a cold morcel now, with loosing so much weight etc.
I am sure the tail band will help Pepe, I think they are going out again while we have naps, just to test it out. Miss Sleek must have it on her, ready for the brooming.
A good job Mr Potter checks them all over, before any tests. Wonder what they have to look at from 75 yards ?? The service will help with the stability, they do go off kilter sometimes, with their gps.
Indeed, Barbara did enjoy her singing, not surprised that the headteacher wondered where the sounds were coming from.
Maybe we need a tantrum room, so that OH's who are not best pleased can go and throw soft things about rant away to their hearts content. aii, how much patience do we need :?
I do hope the weather remains favourable for the beer festival and nowhere ends up like a bog. If the warthogs see it, they will be in there like a shot.
Great choice of charity and to the Church as well, all credit to everyone.
Hi there Barbara I hope you have some luck with the MP and the Chief Constable, someone needs to do something and the more people alongside you will add to the public pressure. You can always flag it up on "fix my street".
I think the singing is a little better, I heard it was loud, Miss Sleek was telling Pepe about a strange noise coming from the choir practice. Far be it from me, I cannot hit a note. I can play, but as for singing, no, I could not inflict that on anyone. Maybe if Toni had a word with the headteacher and asked if you could join as a falsetto, soprano, mezzo soprano..........all in one
I remember you saying that Blackburn Hospital looked after your Brother very well. When you consider the sheer volume of people that go through the doors every day, the care is pretty good, with a finite resource.
We will sit out the MRI, but we can cope with CT scans, of course we will be under cloak duties for either, with ear muffs for the MRI banging and clattering.
So your OH talks with his arms, a lot of people do, not sure if I do, no, or I would fall over.........
Good that you have back up with the leaflets, when they arrive, obviously people are concerned and it is not just you worrying about the speed and subsequent accidents, that happen on your doorstep.
How lovely, your Niece has been proposed to, that is lovely, I bet she is thrilled and you would be made up when you saw the picture.
They have been together for quite a while.
Well, I had better move, pills and potions to take. Ponpholyx has justt cleared up on my hands, now it has popped up on my left foot, within the last hour............
Hi to everyone, Kerrin, hope you are resting this week end, after a busy week and hot weather. Carol, maybe it is cool enough to knit another row of the teddy bear. I hope Mr T is in better humour today.
Joan, I hope you and Sue are having a good week end, out and about if the weather is fine.
Charrisse, sending hugs, to Kath as well, hope things are not too ouchy.
Elizabeth, hoping you are as ok as can be too.
Will leave some cakes out. It is the week end after all. No calories on a week end.
Later everyone XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Aiden a good assortment of cakes there I will put the kettle on..
I did flag it on fix our street..at least I think I did.. :?
Glad to hear that mum enjoyed a scone ..talking of her being cold our middle GD 16 is the same..even at the beginning of the week she was saying close the door..
the strange noise was definitely me..my mum was a lovely singer raised lots of money for hospital beds and also entertained the elderly in homes..not sure what went wrong with me..I can whistle a tune
I also hope the weather stays nice for the beer festival , at the min the sun is out here and its lovely and cool...I used to love a glass of wine but its a long time since I did..so its tea for me these days
It was armed forces day in the next town , a lovely turn out of all sorts of old tanks and cars..and all the solders dress in old and modern uniforms..and I forgot to take one pic..
Right I m off having a fish tonight..so looking forward and pinch a couple of OHs chips.. xxxxxxx
Forgot to say the autistic gardener is on Chanel 4...Love

Afternoon all
The weather today started up a very half hearted effort to rain as we got on the bus on way to our church for open morning but by the time we got of it had stopped but it wasn't cold the rest of the day so far has been cloudy with sunny intervals. and not at all cold just a light breeze temperature at the moment is 22. the air has been a bit frosty between Mr T and myself today as I upset him this morning when he managed to get his old mp3 player to work to work by simply pressing the reset button (you have to laugh really) he came in all excited to tell me it was working and I answered with i'm not interested really. and he took a sulk. things seem be thawing a bit now as he keeps trying to engage me in conversation
Aidan Bill is like me I just pick them up and throw them outside. mice another story these naughty lemurs sloths and blush are real menaces with the fruit juice getting the juice everywhere. definitely a sponge down I think. just getting hold of them is the problem and yes did sleep well however had disturbed night again last night got up at 5.00am as could not stay in bed any longer I had been awake since 4.00am. and Keeping my fingers crossed that a solution is found for the card company it is being put into administration in the hope of saving it. the third one is apparently not being touched till Monday.
Toni I see you have the same problems trouble is mr t moans and the when you say let me have a look see if I can sort it out he looks at you as to say I know more about it than you he forgets that I have these techie things too and I work them out myself without moaning about it. Silly Man   yes there are shops with good cards but some of these have pop out pieces and allsorts that you don't see in the card shops so are worth pain the extra for in fact they have their own artists and all the designs are exclusive to the company and they do not sell via shops only via their traders like myself. think we need lots of patience with these men. my problem is our youngest daughter is so like him in looks and ways so I have to put up with two of them.
Barbara you so right they have their uses i suppose although I'm not sure at times. :? :? . think mr t talks with the eyes always rolling and the shoulder shrugging . ha ha
that's nice of your neighbour to help with the leaflets. and great news about your niece.
night for now will pop in again soonStay positive always👍xx0 -
Evening to all, hope you have had as good a day as possible.
I hope the Beer Fest went ok, or is still going ok  Lots of drinkies all around I would guess. I bet you are keeping a sober head Toni.
Wonder how many hangovers there will be this morning
Miss Sleek and Pepe went out for a brooming while we had a nap. I think he is getting the hang of three point brooming, broom awareness, reverse brooming, then they went mad and had a race round the woods   Bless.
Miss Sleek told him where you had gone, something about lots of laughing in a field, with glasses of strange liquids
Hi Barbara, yes, pop the kettle on, those cakes look too good not to have a cuppa with them.
See you are one step in front, already there on fix my street. I think the Council dread me sending in so many reports, well, if you don't keep on, nothing gets done. I managed to get our road up to the park, completely resurfaced, it took me a year and more, but I was a dog with a bone and they eventually caved in, lol.
Your GD sounds just the same, same as my late Mum too, she would have still had one or two cardigans on last week, while the rest of us where all swooning in the heat. It had to be REALLY hot for her to bare her tiny little arms. Bless her.
Your Mum was a lovely singer, entertaining people and raising lots of money for charity, how wonderful. Not all things are genetic though Barbara :? Singing being one of them. I am sure if we pop along to the choir practice, we can all try and belt out a tune, the more the merrier. Quite what the sound would be like, I am not sure. We might be a distraction
I will enjoy the T with you, I cannot bear the smell of drink now, plus I used to be at the sharp end of many a person falling through the doors at A and E.
I know most people moderate it very well and have a lovely time, but there are some who sadly don't.
Oh, fancy not taking a piccy, it sounds like a great day, Dad IL would have been in his element, he would still be there.
Enjoy the fish and the pinched chips, they are always best if they are pinched from someone else.
Duly noted about the gardener, thank you .............
Hi Carol It has been a pleasant day, some sunshine and a nice breeze.
I see the frost has been in the air, oh dear, well Mr T managed to get the old MP3 working at least. After his grumps yesterday, I would not have been that interested either. He will get over his sulks and the ice will thaw.
I would not assume that another person knew nothing about technology, it is all around us, we all use it, it is always changing and we all keep up with it as far as possible. You have your work cut out then, if your youngest Daughter takes after Mr T. :? :? always rolling his eyes,  now, that would wind me up like a clock.
Sorry you had a disturbed night, waking at 4, oh dear. I bet you were worrying about the card company. I do hope they find a solution.
You are very brave with the spiders  I don't mind other creepy crawlies, like daddy long legs, moths, beetles etc. But arachnids, not a hope.
Well, it is after 1am, so I should move myself again. It is a very ouchy day today, but not to worry, we have them, often.
Dr Doolittle and James are on duty in the zoo, taking care of our lovelies.
love to everyone, Christine, Joan, Toni, Elizabeth, Kerrin, Mig and all.
N night, take lots of care XX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Ah Aidan Lucy won a big bear a bit like that at one of the fundraisers we had in connection with our time in hospital He is so sweet
Beer fest was AMAZING!! people were so well behaved (I was on coke) we sold vouchers for beer, prosecco, soft drinks and burgers. No-one needed to bring anything along at all we sold it all. The sun shone on us and the kids played outside swing-ball, football and with the many friendly dogs who were also there
I am pretty sure we will have raised a good £3000 for the Church and Teenage cancer trust.
You wouldn't believe me if I said I spotted two small figures circling above on broomsticks When I got home about 9.30 (bringing a tipsy Paul, Charley and Kat with me) Diddicat was fast asleep innocent looking in the conservatory. Apparently the tail band did work. I don't think they have to look at some thing at 75 yards more like 1/2 a mile. Church spires I think :?
She told Pepe about the sounds at choir practise did she? poor Barbara Yes she could sing every note in one phrase easily. Not sure how to explain to the teacher though... :?
The 'window' in the CT room wasn't real so they could easily have more than one I should think....might be pricey though. A wooden scratch stick is essential.
Mum ate all of her croissant? Good.- shame she gets chilly bless her she is so thin
Carol Mr T only needed to 'reset' his old MP3!!! Men!! (present company excepted Aidan). I'm surprised you didn't laugh I know I would have had to.
I am glad the atmosphere thaws....and we also had good weather for the village Beer Fest. Now it's on facebook somewhere so if I can find it I can tag you all in it maybe.
Yes Paul is also silly with tech stuff and impatient. Not good if your daughter inherited too many of his genes is it  Two of them? You have my sympathy!
Now it is a shame to hear those special cards might be lost if the company does have to close
Barbara will you come to choir for the last bit of Sitting on the Dock of the Bay if you can whistle. I will make the face if you make the noise
Sounds like you had a nice day too in the next village We had a mini....it was a cute on maybe a classic not sure. Shame you didn't get a photo.
I also was very cold as a child in 1976 my Mum used to say my lips were blue Tell your GD her time will come right enough!!!
Right onwards and upwards must get dressed soon off to help set up. Not sure what yet....table laying most likely.
Or making tea... :?
All animals fed and watered, bottles given while my tablets kicked in.
Love to everyone.

PS Martin (whose field we were in) said he'd cooked that many burgers he expected to wake up with ginger curly hair today (Like Ronald Macdonald).0 -

Carol I am getting blackout curtains I am waking up just after 4 and listening to the birds..it must be after 5 when I drop off again..I have to laugh at you and Mr T...we are the same..all is well for ages then some thing sparks us off..we sulk then he say do you want a cuppa..rather have an apology..only when its his fault of course..
Toni so glad the beer fest went so well..the weather was with you thank goodness..and all sold out ..I am sure the money will be greatly appreciated.. yes I am a good whistler..so will join you although I don't know the song.. was that Pepe then..I did wonder when I saw something clutching to the church spire..and had a little black cape on bless..ginger curly hair..love it..
Aiden think I will keep on at fix my street...like you say they will get fedup of me and maybe do something..poor mum with her little arms its not surprising she feels the cold..I remember buying fleece covers for my mum for bed and to put around her..you and OH are always there for her and she will never forget that.. I don't mind mice has long has they don't surprise me..and spider are ok has long has they are not in my bedroom ,but terrified of the very big ones..  sorry you had an ouchy day ..hope you slept well..(())
right better move ..love to everyone xxxxxLove

I had a brilliant day yesterday. Chris raised the handles on my rollator one notch, which made it more comfortable to push. I wasn't so bent over. Later on, I was able to help him strip the beds and put new bedding on. I ache a bit today, but nothing that a Bush Baby wouldn't cure.

Afternoon to one and all, sunny, breezy, very pleasant............
Toni I am so so glad everything went well at the beer fest yesterday. Everything selling out, everyone having a good time and raising a goodly amount of money for the charity and the Church. Wonderful.
I am not surprised the terrible duo were up on high, whizzing about on their broomsticks. Curiosity you see, both Pepe and Miss Sleek have that in abundance.
Tipsy, hic, oh dear, tipsy is ok - as I recall, from a very very distant memory.
Church Spires, well, they will have a few to choose from, atop Pendle, there will be Sabden, Clitheroe, Clitheroe Castle, Newchurch in Pendle, Downham, the list goes on.............I thought the band would work well, he is eating very well and not being nauseated so far.
Yes, Diddicat was telling Pepe about the choir practice and the strange sounds coming as if from nowhere. Every note in one phrase, that's quite an achievement really :? Not sure the choir mistress would agree though. If Barbara can whistle, then dock of the Bay would be a very nice one to join in with. I don't think Barbara knows it, will have to find it on youtube.
Yes, Mum is a cold soul now, she used to be like a radiator, was always to hand if you were cold, to warm your hands up nicely, now it is the opposite. We will meet up with them at the GC tomorrow morning, mum has to have her warfarin checked again as it was going up high. Let's hope it is back to around 2, from nearly 5.
Men, I know, what are we like, there is always the reset button. We are not lateral thinkers in general.
I wonder if Martin has curly hair this morning, having turned into Ronald McDonald - he could always get a part time job there, no trouble, plenty of experience.
Is the fest on for another day, laying tables? Serving T etc. You will be shattered, steady away now, I have a feeling you might have overdone things a wee bit..........
I think Miss Sleek is over at 6 ish, when we are napping, they have a few things to brush up on. I head from Barbara that Pepe was seen clinging to the Spire of your Church, what on earth, he never said.......
Hi Joan, hope you are having a good week end, enjoying fine weather and getting out and about with Sue and the doggies. Barbara will be out with her banners, to slow the traffic down.
Let's hope that you hear something from the housing association this coming week, they don't seem to rush into anything.
Hi Barbara I see, you are going out in high vis jacket and you could adapt a water pistol to look like a speed gun, that would slow them down, lol 8) 8) Go, team Barbara.
Black out curtains will help, I am sure. 4 am seems a common time to wake, I was the same last night, in fact I had a dreadful night, but hey ho, that's how it rolls sometimes. I woke up and thought I had a square body :? I must have been dreaming Bubbles Square Pants,
That was it then, I could not settle
You have your little grumbles as does Carol. We don't fall out really, maybe an odd disagreement about something, but arguing no, it uses up energy and creates bad vibrations.
We know quite a few people who are not happy unless they are constantly bickering and trying to score points.
I bet you will know the song when you hear it, have a nosey on you tube.
I will have words with Pepe when he wakes up, see if he recalls hanging on to the Church spire. They both wear capes, bless them.
Yes, we are only 50 yards from my in laws, they know they can call us at any time, but, often they don't........we didn't want to disturb you..........you are NOT disturbing us, honest, if you need us, shout.
My Mum n Dad were the same though, not wanting to worry us. A few times Mum did ring, saying "nothing to worry about, but Dad has just gone off in an ambulance on a blue light" !!!!
I am waffling on. Meeces, no, I am fine with them, if I know where they are.
Ouchy days seem to be getting worse, maybe time to see my GP, it is a long time since we had a review.
Kath that is so good to hear about your day, walking easier with the handles raised, it makes a big difference to pain levels. Stripping beds and making beds, we will have you on the ward in no times.
Glad that you are not aching too much today, :bee: I am sure the Bush babies will be more than happy to give cuddles, maybe the sloths too, with their big smiles.
Right I had best be moving, I am setting like a plaster cast.
It must be time for T
Everyone take care, hi to those not in at the moment. XXX Aidan

Evening / early morning to all.
I hope everyone is as good as can be.
Sunday has been a quiet day, at home, pottering, washing, housey things.
I hope you are resting Toni, you have had a very busy week end and I suspect that Monday might be a little tender and tired.
Pepe has had the vapours, he was noseying at the pc and saw the word CAT scan. So he is convinced that this CAT scan is something he has to have on his broom test day. I think Miss Sleek will have to have words with him and put his mind at rest. Bless him, he is well out of sort
We are out in the morning so I guess Miss Slimkins will be over to see Mr worry pot. They are going out to check the spires and castle, see if they can identify them from the top of Pendle. I heard that as and when he passes his test, Mr Potter will bestow some magic into the broomsticks, as a reward. Nothing that will turn us all into toads, thank goodness. Miss Sleek will have some magic in her broomstick too, as she has been his tutor and mentor.
How is the high vis jacket coming on Barbara, you might hear something back from your MP this week, if they are on the ball.
Kerrin, I hope you have had chance to recharge the batteries before another week starts. Hope you are not crazy busy this week.
Carol, I imagine it is a little cooler now, so teddy might grow in stature. hope that Mr T is in a better humour and that all his technical things are working :?
Joan and Sue are waiting for the housing people to sort out their radiators - watch this space. One day, it will be fixed.
Charrisse I hope you are as ok as can be, managing to get out to your knitting group. Your Daughter was visiting, if I remember rightly, so that will have been nice.
Christine will be on countdown to her trip to Australia. I bet you have quite a collection of things to take as little presents. Oh it will be wonderful, we will need to see lots of pictures here or on FB. Amazing that wherever we go in the world, we can always talk to our friends here, within seconds...........comforting thoughts.
Elizabeth I hope you are ok, we do worry.
Kath I know you had a lovely day and can walk a lot easier with your rollator, now that it is at the right height. Posture makes a huge difference with walking aids.
I will have a wander through the zoo and see our lovelies. Mr Herriott is on tonight.
The lambs and little piggies, Mum and her calf, are all settled and comfy in their straw beds. Duly fed before sleeps.
Lilly and Cilla are fine, hanging around, taking life easy.
The Tapir's are resting, they all had a big bath in their pool, then some veggies and extra feed pellets. The Okapi's are asleep, the Little Owls are wide awake and gathering voles and doing a bit of hooting.
The Giraffes are quite content, enjoying their carrots and hay.
The warthogs, well, they are just in a mess  I will hose them down and fill their mud bath, then they can go and wallow again. I think one of the lady warthogs is expecting, Dr Doolittle left a note, after he had been talking to them.
Blush is busy in the bamboo somewhere, I can hear munching.
The Bush babies are quite active now, gathering fruit, as are the Lemurs.
The meerkats are all in their burrows, chattering away, they never seem to sleep.
Marigold, Yack and Cuddles are all fine too. Cuddles is the only puskins allowed in the zoo, being the cafe cat, she has special dispensation. Don't tell Miss Sleek or Pepe.
Well, I had better move the bones a little. Tramadol is kicking in and the screen is going in and out of focus
Everyone take care, stay safe. Love to all. XXX Aidan

Morning everyone.
Been a very busy few days which has resulted in me feeling very icky yesterday and this morning. To sum up I've had children performing at opera Thursday evening, ELO concert on Saturday and swimming gala yesterday. A very stark reminder I can't do what I used to!
Off to catch up with everyone's news.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk0 -
Morning Joan. Not rest for me yet, but I did manage an early night so feeling much more me. I have done 4 loads of dishes for the village and washed all the Church white tablecloths
Kath I am so pleased that a tiny adjustment like that has helped you so much. Good lad isn't he?
Bedding done? Always a good thing
Kerrin it sounds like nothing you would want to have missed though so I am pleased you did it all. Early nights for you this week I'm afraid me too
Barbara you will know the song that whatishame..... from moonlighting sang it I think a few decades ago :?
Paul has plenty of high vis jackets I'll get the pusskins to drop you one off. That would definitely have been Pepe practising. He has a black cape (and many others )
Aidan the beer fest is Saturday and Champagne lunch on Sunday
All done now except for the washing up etc. They are taking the marquee down this afternoon, but Paul and the lads did the tables and chairs yesterday.
Miss Sleek took full advantage of our absence to be your way with the Pepe. They do this trick where they swing around the spire, but when Barbara saw Pepe he hadn't quite got the hang of the 'letting go' bit bless him.
I have had a word and Diddi will be explain, with visual aids as necessary, about CAT scans
Oh the magic?!! Brilliant I had forgotten about that. They get about 5 years worth you know before it wears off then they could do their advanced tests if they want to.
Apparently Pepe can identify all spires and castle correctly. He really has come a long way.
I'm so glad that the animals are all well clean fed and watered. I have neglected them this weekend, but may need to sit in there and rest for a few days now  so I can make up for it.
Love to everyone not posting ATM. Sure Christine will be getting ready
Love
