Barbara, I'm sure you would never have been a naughty fidget bottom and you would never have been locked in the attic. It wasn't that bad actually as it was a large room with a window which looked out over Thackeray's Lane, and I watched people come and go on the number 10 bus which stopped at the bus stop across the road. It was a bit cold up there, but I was allowed my coat in winter.
Carol, my mum died in 2010. She'd had 2 strokes and the second one caused dementia, so it was quite a relief at the time. I hope your back is recovering from all the effort. Will we be able to see a photo of Rubie's new cardi before Mr T delivers it?
Toni, I had problems getting Jonathan to sleep in his own bed too. He was also 8. He had therapy and when the therapist said he was allowed to sleep in his own room, he did!
Aidan, I belief that corridor is even longer now. It connects 2 or 3 areas of the hospital together where you had to go outside to go across a yard and re-enter another building. The connecting floors all rise and fall along the way. That would be fun if you had a Segway. Joan and Sue would enjoy taking the doggies for a run along there while they traveled on their scootas. We hear the neighbours more than we see them. :? Many thanks for the Caramel and Apple Buns, scoff scoff.
Sick of all this rain? Get stuck into this Vegan jazz apple, carrot, fresh ginger and turmeric soup with kale crisps. That will soon warm you up.
Ingredients
A little olive oil
1 clove of garlic - peeled and crushed
1 large white onion – peeled and finely chopped
4 large carrots – scrubbed and finely chopped
2 jazz apples – peeled, cored and finely chopped
2-3 tbsp of fresh ginger - peeled and finely chopped
1 tbsp cider vinegar
2 tsp ground turmeric
3.2 cups (750ml) vegetable stock
Salt and pepper to season
Method
Gently fry the onions in the olive oil, over a medium heat, for a few minutes until they begin to soften, add the garlic and continue to fry for another 2-3 minutes. Add the carrots, apples and ginger. Mix well and fry for a further 3-4 minutes. Add the vinegar then the turmeric and mix well. Pour in the stock and cover. Bring to a simmer and continue to cook over a low heat until the carrots are thoroughly cooked
Remove from the heat and blend to a smooth consistency using a hand blender or food processor. Season and gently reheat. Serve immediately with kale crisps on the side or crumbled onto the soup.
For the kale crisps:
Ingredients
A few large whole kale leaves
A little extra virgin olive oil
Seasoning (e.g. salt, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, etc.)
Method
Pre-heat the oven to about 140C.
Cut the tough centre stalk away from the kale leaving each leaf a 2 slender individual pieces. Place in a baking tray and lightly toss in olive oil. Season fairly generously. It is important to try and keep the leaves separate while they cook so if required split them between 2 trays
Place the trays in the oven for 15 minutes. When this time is up remove and carefully turn the leaves over. Place back into the oven for another 15 minutes. Now turn the oven off leaving the kale to cool as the oven does (this helps them to crisp up properly). Remove and serve as needed."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

You do see Caramel Apple Buns Toni - help yourself and plenty for all
Thank you for being under the cloak - I head that Mother and Sleek were under there with you all. A lot of swishing and rustling, so I pretended to be rooting in my bag t115006 t115006
No sugars or other unwanted in wee sample - bloods done, BP, etc etc. Declined to get on scales, I said just put down "great big Hippo"
I know the HCAssistant quite well, we always have a natter and a laugh.
Hair is looking very nice now, I think one of the foils fell out in the waiting room :?  ooops. No one saw anything.
October is indeed, Birthday month, for both of us, Bill on the 18th and mine on the 27th There will need to be great volumes of cake
As much free music as we want, for a whole year, squillions of songs with every genre that you can ever imagine not a bad deal really, we like free
There will be plenty of songs to choose from for Dad too, olden and golden ones, mind you, he likes Celine Dion too, as do we. Bill has seen her live three times.
B popped to the department store while I was having my mini MOT. He was waiting inside, as it was raining conkers. There are huge horse chestnut trees out the front of the Drs and it is very windy today, so they were firing down like missiles
I said my COPD was somewhat worse, so I am going to see Sr, the one who I put the world to right with. She is lovely, looks after those of us with Diabetes and COPD. More blowing into machines
We were going to come straight home, but, we diverted across the road to the T room and I had a huge scone with jam and cream, for my lunch - I think the currants count as one of my five a day :? :?
Unable to catch up on your holiday washing,  that would have finished me off, no phone and no electricity
Sleek did come to see Mother, many sweets had been eaten and good deal of litter quidditch too   Mother is keeping tucked up on her super clean and fluffy mustard fleece, next to the radiator on top of her ottoman. She hides things in there, that hoomans are not privy to.
Any news you have missed, rain rain and more rain :? :? tomorrow is a dry day so Hilde will have a polish, ready for another week of rain t111055 t111055
Hi Joan and Sue - hope you are as ok as can be and keeping warm. It is a lot cooler today, with a rumour of a frost here tonight
I fidget too - I blame the pills.
Thank you for the (((())))
Hi Barbara, don't worry about being a day late - 24 hours is the time limit, then we send out SOS messages t4591 t4591
So it is a race to the mushroom treats then, with our Kath - I will make sure there are plenty to go round
Blackburn has very long corridors - you look down and think, there is no way I can make it down there. If Dad is with us, B wheels him off, ahead and I just have to keep stopping. If it is a short visit, I wait in COSTA - which is no hardship at all.
The app is now up and running, it is fully linked to the car and knows everything about it, where we have been, how much fuel, what status things are, tyres, battery, washer levels, etc etc etc. Of course, I am playing, certainly keeping me out of trouble
Chemo plus tablets for your Brother. You will find out more tomorrow when they visit t4591 t4591 Prayers are offered and candles are lit, all the time we are in. t4591 t4591
Sorry your eyes are not good today - some extra ((()))
Autumn, I nearly forgot - Kath would tell me off
Hi Kath - I nearly forgot our Autumn picture.
I don't know, locked in the attic, watching the world go by, that was generous of them, allowing you to wear a coat when it was cold
Looking at the new areas of City Hospital, I can well imagine that corridor is even longer, joining new areas with the old ones. There should be a little train, like they have at the seaside A buggy would be fine, not too sure about a segway  :? I might well be admitted, after flying off it
Hearing neighbours, that's ok as long as it is not intrusive noises, that jangle nerves. :? :?
You are welcome to the buns and let me have a helping of that lovely soup, perfect for a windy leafy day - ta mi darlin. t4591 t4591 Love to both
Hi Carol - I noticed there was a weather warning for the south, with lots of rain, a months worth in two hours for some places t111055 t111055   hope you have managed to keep warm and dry. t4591 t4591
Hi to everyone else, in and about.

Have taken a slice of vegan cake Aidan, thanks, for myself and one for Kari too YUM t4591
It was no problem being at the Drs Sleek and Mother were very well behaved (well to be fair Tosca was :animal_busy: and Sleek was looking at the equipment and has been on catazon since we got back......
Did you 'rescue' the foil which fell out :?
Sleek apparently won litter quidditch and has set up a hoop to back flip litter into. It's new so not much success so far  ooops
Good boy mentioning the COPD - very wise. Of COURSE currants count as at least one of your 5 a day!! You'll enjoy the chat and it's best to find out I think.
All that music!! Some Golden oldies for Dad as well as Celine Dion for B - lucky boy seeing her live at all!!!
Kari declines the scales as well. I don't mind too much except once the Dr added roughly a stone and a half by mistake :x
Barbara men don't always hear Drs properly...could it be that your bro is having chemo plus steroid tablets (dexamethasone) as they make the chemo more effective so we were told...?????
Kath gosh we both had the same problem!! How odd - maybe 8 is a significant age for kids separating from parents or something???
The soup was delightful lovely on this rainy Autumnal day
Joan I am very grateful that my phone is on it's way to me I think I am lucky it could have really been lost!! Horrible weather isn't it?
Love to all

Hi to all - no rain, clear skies,
Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and grey
Look out on a summer's day................................................
Now that song has stuck in a loop in my head :? :?
Hi Toni - I knew that Auntie Kari would like the cake, by all means, one slice is never enough, best take two.
Mother said that Sleek has ordered a phlebotomy trolley for her ickle house   she wants to take samples now and test them in her laboratory - sorry, her laboratory????? oh yes, Sleek has one, through one of her wardrobes, didn't we know?
Beware of Sleek with syringes   :? :?
I popped the foil into the waste bin on my way out no one was any the wiser. Sleek passed it to me, bless her.
I do hope I am asleep when Sleek is practising the back flip quidditch shot   Tosca just rolled her eyes
I have a feeling that my spirometry test will show a bit of an advance in my COPD, I would rather Sister pops it down on record.
I know, I don't know what music to choose next. I keep searching for obscure songs and there they are
B says Celine has THE most amazing voice, singing live, no lip syncing
Go Kari - I usually decline, sometimes Sr can get me on the scales, but I refuse to know what it reads. Fancy them adding a stone and a half - naughty Dr, I would have had a fit.
I bet you are glad your phone is en route from France. We all rely on them so much these days. What with the phone and Hildegard, they are the only ones that know what we are doing and when.
How is Rev Delphine, I keep meaning to ask ? t4591
Hi Barbara - hope your Brother and GF enjoyed their time with you, catching up and talking over treatments etc. t4591 t4591
Hi Carol - hope you are safe, warm and dry - the skies over London looked pretty scary dark online :? :?
Time for our Autumn interlude

Morning a chilly start to today, but should be clear I hope. Some furniture is arriving for the 'new room' today but not my pink sofa
Now Aidan! That song is in my head too and will be all day
Best to have any new info down on record I agree even if it isn't news you want to hear.
Yes a spirometry set it is :? heavens to Betsy  Everyone here has been advised to keep their arms covered at all times.....does she know the difference between arteries and veins    A laboratory in the ickle house? That doesn't surprise me at all  Not one bit!
I don't really see why they should subject us to the indignity of the scales to be honest we can all tell  maybe it's for those they see on a downward spiral or when it is sort of diagnostic like when I had pre-eclampsia with Charley :?
I know a stone and a HALF!! Cheeky things :x
Alexa is pretty good at getting songs up for us or genres...sometimes I clean to old Motown songs
I know my phone is my calendar….I have a little Pou on mine who will be starving by the time he gest home Then theer are my audiobooks - still Alexa helps a bit there too t4591
The Rev D is recuperating at home (best not let Sleek hear that!!) she is very weak still bless her but ok fingers crossed.
I love the leaves a-falling especially from inside the house and the spinning heart is so pretty. I am only going to have half a vegan BLT bearing in mid Kath's love of mushies
Must ring Rosie to send in the big guns.....3 last night yes 3

Joan, what a super tip. I never knew that so thank you for letting us know. We must all grow mint in our gardens and follow Joan's brilliant advice. I know Aidan and Toni will for sure.
Toni, I'm on me way to them mushies love, thanks for thinking of me. Ask Sleek if she'd come and give me a thorough check, it would put my mind at rest before my rheumy check in November. Martin is due next Wednesday so he'll do Blood tests and blood pressure test. Does Sleek do toe nail clipping? If so you'd better suggest she brings a strong pair of secateurs. I have my own rubber gloves if she needs them.
Aidan, I love that song, Don Maclean is a brilliant Lyicist. I also love the song on the new Audi advert, but nobody seems to know who sings it!
Oh wow, Vegan Portobello "BLT" ta muchly for those mushies. You don't HAVE to post an Autumn pic every day if you don't want to - or iff you forget to. Not losing yer memory are ya mi duck? :?
Chocolate Hazelnut Cake don't mind if I do.
Now, what shall we have for tea? I know:

13
Sprinkle the top with extra brown sugar and cinnamon sugar.

Hi to all - it is bloomin boiling hot this afternoon, mind, the sun is beaming in and we have been out, fussing Hildegard.
Hi Toni - certainly is a different day today, glorious sunshine, wall to wall.
Ooo some furnishing arriving today, exciting, but no pink sofa, where is it, en route soon
Good idea to keep arms covered until Sleek gets the idea of blood samples out of her mind. She asked Mother to pass her paw,  that went down like a lead balloon and met with the harshest of looks :? :? :?
Veins and arteries, errrrm, not sure on that one, unless she has been reading up on anatomy and physiology :? :? Mother has a book she can read, "things you should NOT do unless qualified"
It is a bit of an indignity, wanting to put us on scales, now, don't get me wrong, if there is a considerable weight change, for no apparent reason, then that is a different story and should not be ignored. Or, pre eclampsia, which is a big medical emergency   did you have two out of the three symptoms?
The HCA mentioned body mass index's - I said, oh, don't even go there, it would be off the chart, like I said, just put Hippo down and be done with it
You have a little pou on your phone :? :? Dare I ask? You said it will be hungry, I am taking it as a virtual pet.
Good to hear that Rev Delphine is home and recuperating steadily. Bless her indeed, I will light another candle t4591 t4591
3 spi---s last night, oh my........They will all be wanting to come into the warm.........Apparently there was a frost here, so the neighbour said, (he is always up with the larks, in case he misses anything  ) Nosy, no, not a bit
Hi Joan and Sue - I always shower in Tea Tree and Mint, I wonder if that helps :? :?  probably not. Will be worth trying and it smells lovely too. To hoomans that is.
Glad you have enjoyed some of the sunshine, a glorious Autumn day
(((()))) to you both and to the doggies as well
Hi Kath Yep, mint will be bought from the garden centre on Friday and I will be brewing leaves by tea time
Are you sure you want Sleek to come over, she will want to do bloods - if there is a bare arm in sight, she will be in like a shot   best leave that to Martin and Sleek can do your other obs Keep her happy in her medical role
Do you have podiatry? I know some surgeries do home visits too, at a push.
I like Dons lyrics too, they really tell a story, sometimes quite deep and mysterious, if you read them through. I love American Pie, know all the words to that one
The Audi advert, is sung by FAULTLINE featuring JAKL " I could have danced all night"
I knew you would LOVE the portobello vegan BLT Am I loosing my memory, errrrm, best ask my phone, or the car
Thank you for the gorgeous raspberry tea cake, I might just nip and get some of Toni's clotted cream. Ta luv,
Hope any ouchies are not overly troublesome t115006 t115006
Hi Barbara - hope you are all ok, Is Niamh with you for her tea tonight
How was your Brother and GF, bet they enjoyed their visit to see you.
Hi to Carol - hope the rains have eased off and you have had some of the sunshine. It has been glorious and very warm in the sun. m0150 m0150
Was it knit and natter today? Your cardigan for Rubie must be all but done now
Hi to everyone else, in and about.
We went to Sainsb, via COSTA - B said, if we can park, then we will take Dad in for a coffee and a cake. Don't have to ask me twice. there were two spots, right at the door, close the car door and open Costa's door, it was so close Perfect. I had some chocolate and caramel cake thing - not quite sure about it, would not have it again, it was ok, just ok. :? :? should stick with the ones I know.
Hildegard has had a big fuss and polish. I am more ornament than use, but I try and do my bit, flicking the dusters about, if it as my level. She is gleaming again now ready for 10 days of rain, from tomorrow night
Right, I must potter again, the polish cloths are on their second wash, takes some getting out, smell of waxes etc. The waterless wash and wax, amazing stuff. You don't need to wash the car at all.
Will catch up again later. Lots of love and sparkles to all t4591 t115006 t115006 Take care XXXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

Hi to all - after a very warm afternoon, being in one of my "mellow moments"  the heating is now on, since the temp dropped like a stone. :? :?
Hi Barbara - it has indeed been a glorious day, just a tad warm in the lounge when we arrived home. Mother was basking and thought it was wonderful :animal_busy: :animal_busy: keeping her old bones warm, bless her.
I am glad you had a laugh with your Brother and his GF. t4591 t4591 He remains in our thoughts and prayers.
Niamh is there, hence the laptop is hidden and you are staring at your phone, which is never easy at the best of times, trying to write a fair bit.
So, she would like a Pony, for sleeping in her own bed. Right, ok. Can it be a My Little Pony :? I am sure it would not cut the mustard.
Looks like we need to win the lottery and then she can have a pony and a field and stables t4591 t4591
You were the comedian in your class, way to go Barbara and your Bro got you into trouble - naughty he was.
Being weighed, does put you off your cake, for at least half an hour
Thank you for being under the cloak, for the first part of my MOT. It was warm, the surgery always is, thank goodness we were downstairs, the upstairs waiting area is like an oven. Don't blame you for bringing you mini fan.
We would have a wail of a time with the car app, I love it, now that it is all up and running. The motability man rang from Mercedes to check that all was working.
Bill is glad it is sorted, but he likes to get on with the driving while I do all the fiddling
You are welcome to the pictures and sparkles, I love seeking them out. Keeps me out of mischief.
See, I found another one
No, it isn't good when you have to wait around. Let's hope your Brother doesn't change his mind, having time to mull things over and over can get you thinking a bit too much.
Is the appointment at the eye hospital, anything to do with his up coming treatment plan?
Hi Toni - hope you have not been troubled by any more sp---s  :? :?
Sleek said that your fown will be there today, with the French Postman - let's hope so, need to see some french morning mists t4591
Sleek was over to siesta with Mother, she felt safe that you were not going to abandon her -  oh good Heaven's said Mother. Granny grumps she is at times
Trip up to Pendle this morning, while B is having his bloods done. Mother needs some heather for her Autumn potion :? :?
I will go with B and sit in the car - a little trip out, no coffee's, not today. I can play with buttons, keeps me happy. Bless. Then it will be washing and drying and fussing.
Hi Carol - hope you are both ok, feeling not too bad and carrying on with your normal daily things - sometimes it can be very difficult and it takes a big effort to find motivation. Some extra (((()))) and t4591 t4591 will give you a boost

XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Good morning! I'm up fully dressed and with my dressing gown on too It's chilly
Lovely porridge Aidan - just what I need Sleek and Tosca did well this morning so I hear Mother tucked up in her side-car all cosy and snug (sleeping I heard but shh!!!). Plenty of heather 'sorsd' Sleek said  also some mists for the nymphs. They are looking forward to some frozen s*****s webs when they arrive soon. Apparently some s*****s make them for them? there you go something new we've learned
One more visitor I'm afraid then all of a sudden none  :? I think Rosie sent some of their helpers over to sort them out
Best of luck for B's bloods - you enjoy messing around with all the switches, but don't drain the battery - we had to jump start Charley's car for work yesterday
Gosh Mother was sensible not to pass her paw to Sleek!! My bro has a book called 'Doctoring for Dummies' from when he came in to see Lucy at the QE in his suit and the other kids and mums thought he was a DR - even has a plastic stethascope  And one day he brought us in a cake in a box-file....instead of a file in a cake
When I had pre-eclampsia I had high BP and +++ protein in the wee....then kidney failure then something to do with my liver HELLP???? Then they saved us both with an emergency ceasarian two and a half months early. Kidneys back to normal within about 48 hours
I liked what you and Barbara said about weighing us putting us off our cake yes for at least half an hour!!!
Little Pou was my surrogate for Sleek I downloaded him when we were trapped in the QE. Again I will upload a pic when I have my phone  You have to feed him and shower him and can dress him up too....he used to dress up like the nurses and Dr Tim etc I must have been so annoying! What with that and Lucy's pink bunny getting up to mischief....then there were three days with one of those f**t putty things.....
Clotted cream always available...
I am very much hoping the phone will be en Engleterre aujourd'hui I miss it so...…
Pink sofa will be here beginning of December, but I can wait
Barbara we didn't ask Charley we knew she wanted a guitar like her friend Tia (only her friend then not step-sister!).
Some furniture arrived....not 100% ok some we actually had to assemble! Couldn't believe it!! It wasn't Ikea flatpack we paid for
Safety first for your Bro if eyes need to be checked first then it's for the best. Hope he isn't overthinking ((())) Nice to see him and have a good time with him and his GF though
Oh Kath!! Sleek is so exited!!! She is bringing a bowl to soak your feet in first!! She says she can do your claws no problem and are you sure you want to wait for martin to do your bloods. She is 'kwite profishant' :? :?
Of course I wouldn't eat all the mushrooms I know they are your favourites
That cake was delighful - pinkies out!!! Thank you
Joan we have mint in the garden so might give that a try....
No sign of my phone yet....maybe today
Hoping all is well with Carol and she's still being positive ((()))

Dear Joan, how do you feel about not being able to have an ankle replacement? Just as long as things don't get worse. I know you suffer a lot of pain with it.
Toni, I await Sleeks arrival eagerly. Can't wait for the foot soak and getting rid of my talons will be a great pleasure. Martin would be quite jealous if my new nurse took over his job and I know our dear kind furry friend wouldn't want that. t4591 I do hope you get your phone back soon.
Aidan, I adore the little dicky birds hopping about your picture, so cute. Latest news on Queens Med and Nottm City. They are to be given a large sum of money to modernise both hospitals. Bad news is - they will have to share it with 30 other NHS Trusts.
OOO, Autumn Pear and Blackberry Porridge. Luvvervey. PS I didn't mean that advert Aidan, I can't remember which car it was. But one of the men in it falls over in his rush to reach the car. I think I read somewhere that Ray Davies of the Kinks wrote the song (I'm not like everybody) but I don't know who sings it in the advert.
Barbara, so you were a little madam at school. Who knew. I'm happy your brother and GF enjoyed their holiday. So Niamh wants a pony. Emily used to collect My Little Ponies as a little girl. It's hard to believe she turns 40 this month.
Sweet Potato and Kale chilli
Ingredients
2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped into 1 inch cubes
1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 red chili, finely chopped
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper , (Optional - for extra heat)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground cumin
400 g tin of kidney beans, drained and rinsed
400 g tin of chopped tomatoes
2 large handfuls of kale
Salt & pepper, , to taste
Instructions
Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan and add the sweet potatoes, onion and garlic. Cook on a medium heat for 5 minutes until the veg has softened slightly.
Stir in the chili, cayenne pepper, cinnamon and cumin and cook for a futher couple of minutes.
Add the kidney beans and chopped tomatoes, stir to coat the vegetables thoroughly then simmer gently for 30-35 minutes. Add a little water if it becomes too thick.
At the last minute, add the kale. Don't over cook it, just let it wilt slightly so it retains colour and texture.
Season with salt and pepper and enjoy!"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

hi to all - from wishy washy's laundry  You would think there was the Walton family living here
It was chilly this morning Toni, after a frost last night. Next door's roof was white over by midnight. Heating went on, for a while, much to Mothers delight. :animal_busy:
Mother wasn't quite sure if she had been up to Pendle, so yes, she had been asleep, bless her. She is glad of the heather and has put in into her ottoman, for the autumn potion...............
There could well have been frozen cobwebs this morning, on the hawthorn hedges - The Nymphs will be over the moon, with fresh supplies of mists.
Special spid--s that weave their webs, who knew, well, we know now.
Good to hear that there was only one arachnid, then all was clear. I have not seen any for a couple of days, but, I am not dropping my guard.............. :? :? The more reinforcements from Rosie and her team, the better.
They were a bit behind in the treatment room, so I had some time to play with buttons and the like. Hilde decided that after 30 minutes I was on a 3 minute warning, before shutting down the system - with that, or start the engine.
Does Charley's car need a new battery? Hope it is ok now, maybe needs a longer run.
I like the book of choice, from your Brother. I bet people did think he was a Dr. Liking the cake in the file, instead of the other way round
Pre eclampsia (with all the signs) is a super urgent matter and a c section is done like NOW.
You certainly had all the triggers.  Renal functions all back to normal within two days
Standing on scales, does put you off cake, fortunately for a very short time Bloods, let me ring about mine, BRB
They had to do two more tests, from the same samples, as my full blood count came back as borderline anaemia  :? more in depth tests came back normal - :? Spinach, must get spinach to go in our butties.
A surrogate Sleek, was vital, for the time you were entrapped in the QE. Feeding and bathing him and dressing up. No, not annoying at all :? A misbehaving pink bunny and some windy pops putty
Did your phone arrive, par avion ?? You must be witless, I know I would be.
Can you put a big picture up of the pink sofa, where it is going to be, that way you will know it is on the way. December will be here before we know it............
Paying for ready made furniture is just that, so you don't have to build it when it arrives, with a million pegs and bolts - huh, different if you order flat pack. Grrrr. Mother will send some itchy spells, apparently she knows exactly where to send them t115006 t115006
Sleek is doing Kaths toes, oh my -  with those big clippers - I cannot look :? :?
Hi Joan and Sue - bloods were ok, even though they had to do extra tests to check on my full blood count. They all seem ok, but I will be getting a print out next time we are passing by. I like to scrutinise my results.
You have to take lots of care of your ankle, friable skin is one of those things I am afraid. Some arnica gel would be nice and soothing, alongside your pain killers. You can get it on QVC, it is called SBC Arnica and they do it in various sizes.
Dad was ok this morning when B popped in with his pills. He was watching tv, relaxing.
Little things do please little minds, as the saying goes. Give me buttons and gadgets and I am happy as Larry
Hugs to both and to the doggies (((()))) t4591 t4591
Hi Kath - Has Sleek arrived with her pruning shears   you are being very brave :? :? Best to let Martin do the bloods, he would feel pushed out and would never believe that a puskin had taken them anyway.
The Robins were cute on the picture. Talking of Robins, there were two, sometimes three, all fighting and chasing each other round the garden yesterday, they carried on for 12 hours - so territorial.
So QMC (where I trained) and City Hosp are in for some well needed extra funds, that's good, always good. But they have to share it with all the other major trusts, not so good. QMC must need a revamp by now. It was all new and ultra mod, when we trained, the biggest medical teaching hospital in Europe. We were allowed 10 minutes extra on our lunch breaks, to get to the dining rooms, they were so far away. We took the chance to run to the smoking areas, to have an extra ciggy   That was in the days when I could run.
Glad you liked the porridge
Sweet potato and Kale Chilli, looks and sounds gorgeous, ta luv.
Hi Barbara - hope you are all ok, have you been out today, GC or other little venture? t4591 t4591
Carol will have been to knit and natter Hope you are feeling a little brighter t4591 t4591 t69044 t69044
You can guess who chose the Autumn picture today
It is time I was pottering some more, last lot of drying nearly done, housekeeping has been in, like a whirling dervish, bedding off and on in no time. Something that would take me all day, is done in a flash by B.
Will pop in later.............
Love and sparkles to everyone, in and about. Hope all are taking care XXXXXX Aidan t4591 t115006

Help yourself to as many little cakes as you need Toni, after the box arrived from France, with NO PHONE
Human error, we all forget or leave things from time to time, so no fault nor blame. The fault and blame lands with whoever helped themselves to the contents - just horrible. Shame on them.
I was hoping that it would arrive safely. You will soon have a new one up and running, with your new SIM (we will need to find you again) Glad that EE have blocked the phone and SIM
Would travel insurance and or house insurance not cover loss / theft etc? Just a thought. Your Google account will have saved all your pictures etc. I don't think it saves your phone numbers, not sure.
Mother was seething. :x :x
She cast a spell but Hermione had to stop it, it would turn peeples into toads
I thought I saw the Sisters on their way to choir, with diamante wimples
Hope choir was good and biscuits even better t4591 t4591
Hi Barbara - You certainly will need your brolly, it has been pouring down for a few hours now. t111055 t111055 t111055 Looks like another wet ish week ahead.
Good job there was warming porridge, if you had the shivers. It was chilly, first thing.
The cakes are only teeny weeny ones, so we can eat loads of them, with large cups of T.
It was my bloods that they did further testing on, as one result was showing a low full blood count. The other tests said it was ok and there was no need for another blood test :? :?
I am sure B's bloods will be ok.
He is busy getting all things sparkling, ready for the fair at the village hall this week end. I will go for an hour or so at lunchtime, with M from next door. I could not stand or sit, for the whole day, in one place. I hope he does really well.
Glad you enjoy the autumn theme, I will go find another one for us
This is nice and peaceful
Hilde must have me sussed already, only allowing me 30 minutes of play time
Way to go Niamh, well done on star of the week, a very grown up young lady who needs her own special room t4591
Prayers and thoughts continue, they cost nothing and mean so much t4591 t4591
I guess your Brother is right, nothing to loose and if the eye tests are essential as part of the trial, I guess needs be. Just hope they don't delay things. t115006
Hi Carol - hope you are both ok and feeling not too bad. How is the knitting coming on, for Rubie. I have already forgotten when Mr T is going down to see your family - brain fog, again
Quiet evening here, I think we are about caught up with things. B managed to mow the grass at the front, before it rained. It should be its last cut of the year.
GC today, Dad will enjoy that. Some shopping and then home.
Hi to everyone else in and about. Time I was pottering again.

Good morning everyone
Thanks Aidan I still feel a bit stupid - horrible person half-inching my phone
Not to worry I'll sort something out today. Paul will ring the person who posted on to us (100% trustworthy) and see whether she sent it by any sort of insured delivery. If not Paul says house insurance too....I will get sorted I'm sure one way or another!
Mother was quite right to be so livid!! Sleek was too looking through her spell book for any action she can take. So far the crystal ball won't show her who the guilty party is. She said Tosca was about to do something 'reely norty' that they are not 'alowd' to do, but she herself had wanted her to do it
Pancakes were lovely ta with just a touch (2 serving spoons) of cream per pancake. t4591
The sisters were at choir tonight which was lovely and Barbara remembered too. We had cupcakes with our tea break
Loving these Autumnal pics you keep sending thank you very much
Have a lovely time at the GC
Barbara good idea to see what school think about Niamh and her bed time japes. It really isn't at all unusual for kids to want to be in their parents' beds especially as she's had a little extra to deal with bless her ((()))
Choir went well didn't it? Enjoying some of the Christmas songs we've started.
Joan you'll have seen that my phone arrived well an empty box arrived. It was stolen at some point en route from France to here

Well, I decided to pop back. I've put one of my spare mouses in, but it's not very good at scrolling. The one I disconnected didn't have a left button that worked. Maybe I should get the cats to catch me another one. Or would they say :animal_busy: :lol
Love U Katsu
For the katsu curry sauce:
Ingredients
3 cloves garlicKatsu curry
1 tsp grated ginger
1 medium carrot
Vegetable oil for frying
1 medium onion
½ green apple
2 tsp curry powder
1 tsp garam masala
2 tsp white miso paste
Method
1. Peel and finely chop the onion.
2. Peel and crush the garlic.
3. Peel or scrub and slice the carrot. Slice the apple.
4. Heat a little vegetable oil in a saucepan that has a lid.
5. Fry the onion until soft, then add the garlic, ginger, carrot, apple, curry powder and garam masala.
6. Stir well and cook on a low heat for 2-3 minutes.
7. Mix the miso paste into 1 cup /240ml water and stir into the mixture.
8. Bring to a simmer, cover and cook for 10-15 minutes until the carrot pieces are soft.
9. Allow to cool a little before transferring to a food processor or a goblet liquidiser.
10. Liquidise until very smooth, adding more water as necessary to achieve a thick, pourable consistency.
11. Reheat to serve.
For the sweet potato hearts:
Ingredients
Aquafaba from 1 400g / 14oz tin chickpeas
1 medium sweet potato
100g / 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
Salt and pepper to taste
6 tbsp plain white / all-purpose flour
Vegetable oil for frying
Method
1. Put the aquafaba into a small saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring frequently, to reduce – this makes it thicker and stickier! Allow to cool before use.
2. Peel the sweet potato and trim the ends.
3. Cut into 1/2cm (1/4 inch) thick slices. Use a heart-shaped cutter or a small sharp knife to trim each slice into a heart shape.
4. Put the breadcrumbs onto a plate, season with salt and pepper and mix well.
5. Put the reduced aquafaba onto another plate.
6. Spread the flour onto another plate. Dip a sweet potato heart into the flour, make sure it is well covered, shake off any excess. Next, dip it into the aquafaba, and finally dip into the breadcrumbs.
7. Shallow fry the hearts on a low heat so that they have time to cook through before they get too brown.
8. These can be reheated on a baking tray in the oven when required.
For the stir-fry:
Ingredients
1 400g/14oz tin chickpeas, drained and rinsed (you need the aquafaba for the sweet potato hearts)
1 red chilli
Vegetable oil for frying
A mixture of red peppers, mange-tout, spring onions and carrots, chopped into matchsticks – you need a generous handful per person
2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
Juice and zest of ½ lime
Method
1. Slice the red chilli finely – you can discard the seeds or keep them in the dish, if you use them the stir-fry will be hotter.
2. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok and stir fry the chilli and chickpeas for a minute or two.
3. Add the remaining vegetables and stir-fry for a further minute or two.
4. Dress with sesame oil, lime juice and lime zest and serve immediately.
Serve the stir-fry at the side of each plate with a pool of katsu curry sauce, white rice and the sweet potato hearts."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Horrible person indeed, taking your phone. La Poste usually have things sent signed for, of they are par avion.
I hope you friends did send it that way, so the post office will have to compensate for theft. Everything is scanned and x ray'd, obviously for security, which is fine, but, it also tells whoever, exactly what is in the parcel.
Home insurance too, we all pay enough, for just about every eventuality :?
It was a mutual puskin decision, to override the rule book and try and turn those involved, into toads. I think the whole of la poste staff would have been affected,  so Hermione had to jump in and cancel the spell.

We arrived at the GC in good time, as it was crazy busy after 11am. We had our fav table, (of course)
I had a veggie breakfast, no beans, extra mushrooms. B had a Beth special (pinching some of my mushrooms) and Dad enjoyed scrambled eggs. I forced myself to have a piece of carrot cake

Hi to all - cooler again, with clear skies, after all the recent rains.
Hi Barbara - busy on your phone and late too, typing away in bed I guess
It is good that Toni is back up and running. We rely on our phones so much now. Remember when it took an age, just to send a text, going through all the letters / numbers, one at a time   1- ABC - 2 DEF ............ saying hello took 10 minutes
Let's see what Autumn brings today
B is all ready for the fair. There is the one on Sunday and one in November, I hope he does really well too. He can set up this afternoon, ready for Sunday, which is a good thing. Not having to rush at the last minute.
Niamh will take some convincing then, with regards her own grown up bedroom - :? much planning and the like

Good Morning
Aidan I could text like that in the dark and we only had so many characters we could type so had to say 'u' for you and 'pls' for please etc!!
The apple and pecan bread is lovely ta especially with some best butter on it!
We have the village Book Sale today (and bacon baps!) Pom and I are in charge of....you guessed it the tombola  for our sins so we are with B every step of the way with the sale tomorrow best of luck to him. We are already set up - have been since Weds!!
What can we say about whoever took my phone? Not a lot, but we can't have the cats turning the whole of the French post people into toads  Good idea to cloud up the crystal balls until they forget which should be soon. Now I have replaced the phone and 'normal' service is resumed
No jazz hands at all thank goodness at choir this week the sisters were remarkably well-behaved with their sparkly wimples :? :? :? Cake always helps as does one of the farmers' elderflower wine
The cup of tea and book autumnal pic looks perfect to me...sigh pass my book!
The extra mushrooms in your Beth's special were for your lovely B bless you. Dad eats well doesn't he? That's so good.
Sleek said mother won at quidditch even though she' lukd lyk she waz asleyp'
They are going over to France in the morning to collect French mists....sorry it was taking pictures of said mists that meant I left the phone in the car!! and you never even got to see them! Our nymphs have given them something to take to the French Nymphs so mother is going along with her superior French language skills
I hope you had an ok night...being 'unsettled' is a bit of a worry :?
Barbara I was checking last night for photos in all my ancient text conversations. With Samsung you can transfer old conversations over, but my photos are all on the SD card mostly, but I have saved some The old phone I used was from around Lucy's hip op well-before we moved here and her shoulder operation.
Niamh is stubborn, but you grown ups must be stronger than her after all you are all adults Sleek is offering up a sleepy spell for you to mover her after she's asleep.....
Kath a recipe for Katsu curry sauce!! oooh! I will put Jack fruit in mine
Hope Tesco were on time.
Of course Sleek and Tosca will catch you a mouse!!!
Hi To Sue and Joan I hope you got out yesterday?
Love to Carol mig and Crinkly1!
