The Book of You by Claire Kendal
This was a gripping psychological thriller. It is written from two points of view - one is the book of evidence that Clarissa is keeping about her stalker and the other tells the story from the outside - ie in third person. Clarissa has been advised that she needs to keep loads of evidence if she is to get any sort of help against the man stalking her. As you keep reading you get more and more frightened for her.

I have developed a nasty cold so went back to bed today! Not like me at all these days! Feel better for the sleep though so hope it clears up now!

Hope all bookworms are well and have something good to read.

Have fun. I've just bought a new kindle as my old one was starting to show it's age.

Finished at last so here goes the review!:-

    Beautifully Damaged By L.A.Fiore

The story bases around the main character Ember Walsh, she's a quiet trusting young lady. When her friend asks her to go for a drink with her and her boyfriend and has a blind date for her. She drags herself a long to make her friend happy. The book then takes a dark twist that grabs you in, the story twists and turns the mix of a love story and thriller that keeps you wanting more. It does have some saucy bits that make 50 Shades of Grey look like a nursery book be warned!! But over all I loved it and would read all the books in the series. I wholly recommend this book, it's the best book I've read in a long time!!

    Rating: *****/*****

I've chosen Unintended Consequences by Marti Green as my next book to read, it's a legal thriller about a man who was arrested and convicted of murdering his daughter. He has been in jail for nineteen years and his execution is 6 weeks away. He has always pleaded is innocence and an attorney from the Help Innocent Prisoners project becomes interested in his case and wants to believe him and takes his case. Sounds good hey!!

Great review of Beautifully Damaged Bubbadog. I am afraid I don't seem to be able to finish anything at the moment - life has got in the way. Off to bed now to get a few more pages of Dancing with the Virgins by Stephen Booth under my belt. It is excellent so far but I keep falling to sleep after a few pages....no reflection on the book, more a reflection on the flair up I seem to be suffering. Ah well, these things will pass and my reading will increase soon

I wonder whether it is the time of year - I have been too tired to read as much as I like. Also work gets in the way too! I am enjoying The King's Curse though!

Great to see you Toni! I do love my new laptop because I'm learning something new everyday with it! Oh well it's cold enough now to have the heating on and furry throw is out and over my legs now. The rugrats are demanding hugs at the most inconvenient times when I'm nose deep in my Kindle reading! And once one jumps off the other jumps on and it's hard trying to cuddle one with one arm and hold my kindle with the other hand!!

I ended up with the basic version. I decided I didn't need the built in book light or the fancy extras of the paperwhite or the new voyage, and I find the slightly grey background easier than the high contrast of black on white. I decided to get the £59 version that carries ads on the basis that if I didn't like them I could pay the extra £10 to remove them. To be honest they don't bother me, a large one on the screen when you turn it off and then a small one across the bottom of the home screen. Apart from that it's lovely and light and easy to use. Typically my old one started to work perfectly as soon as I had ordered it so I've given it to my daughter.

Always the way with these new fancy gadgets! But it is nice to treat yourself to something new, I'm sure your daughter loves the other one. Well I had a day in bed yesterday as I felt awful and drained. I was so tired I couldn't even get the energy to read. So hopefully today I can get back to it.
I'm going to throw it out early so everyone has more time to think, has anyone got any suggestions for Novembers Book Of The Month It would be nice to have something more light hearted, so get your thinking hats on and if any of you see something that might be suitable please let us know. :D

Good Ole' Amazon are having an Autumn sale, I had a butchers and came across a book that grabbed my attention and thought it could be a contender for November's Book Of The Month I know it's not light hearted, it's called 'You' by Caroline Kepnes let me know what you think. If anyone else has any suggestions please post them so we can choose between us.

Hello, I'm paying another occasional visit to let you all know about 'A Family Affair - Truth in Lies Book 1' by Mary Campisi. I read the first one a couple of years ago and then discovered that she had produced three more sequels, I am currently working my way through the third.

Book 1 was both interesting and thoughtful in its examination of families and their relationships. A wealthy man dies and either his daughter or widow (I cannot remember, I apologise) discovers the existence of a second family who are - literally - worlds apart from their high society life (but far happier) . Apparently Ms Campisi was so tired of requests about what happened next that she felt compelled to write the second book but then felt happy to carry on.

I am struggling a little now with the 'apple pie and white picket fence' of American small-town perfection but that maybe because I read part two and then immediately moved onto the third. I may abandon it for a short while and plug the reading gap with a thriller or two.

Something lighthearted for November? I suggest M C Beaton, either something from the Agatha Raison or Hamish MacBeth series, the latter is more to my taste as the characterisation is far better. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

I sent Mr F to the library with my read "The King's Curse by Philippa Gregory" and he returned with a copy of the NIne Tailors that I had been waiting for. Except that it was a copy belonging to one of the librarians as there wasn't a copy in the county. Good service eh? Or a sign that I sped too much time reading?! Is that even possible???

Anyway the King's Curse was really good. It followed Margaret Pole who was George, Duke of Clarence's daughter (he was the brother of Edward and Richard who was drowned in the Malmsey wine). It began when Arthur married Katherine of Aragon up until Kate Howard was Henry VIII's wife so a long period. It really brought home how awful Henry was in his later years, how he just killed people. Mostly because he got away with getting rid of Katherine in the first place rather than someone standing up for what was right.
I loved this book so ****/*****

I am just reading One Step Too Far by Tina Seskis and then I will get onto the Nine Tailors.

Half term next week so should get some reading done then!

Glad you enjoyed The Kings Curse and I hope you enjoy Nine Tailors it's nice that your Librarians are willing to loan you a copy of their personal copy of a book that the library hasn't a copy of.
I'm hoping to get some reading done over the weekend as long as I can keep my eyes open! I might have to ask my OH to give me a shove everytime I nod off with my Kindle in my hands!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend! :)

What a lovely library you use Frogmella :) I am totally impressed!

I hope you enjoy your book. I have read that Tina Seskis book. I think I read it in France last summer....memories eh? It was good I think.

Amanda I have downloaded my copy of Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of death and am looking forward to reading it.

My husband was totally unable to read his motorsport newspaper the other day as Daisycat sat on it - splat-cat! and wouldn't move ;)

Toni I hope you enjoy Agetha Raisin And The Quiche Of Death .
I know what your OH must have felt like our cats don't like it if your ignoring them! Willow just climbs on my chest when I'm on the laptop and wants a cuddle so I end up turning my Laptop off as it's pointless trying to use it with a big ball of fluff in the way!!
