Right now I'm back home I will get stuck into the Book Of The Month Look Behind You. I'm really looking forward to reading this book!! I did go crazy and got a few books in the Kindle Sale so my poor Kindle is stuffed with books I need to read!!
Thanks Linda for the heads up about the price of Kindle books going up, I didn't know about it as I've been in a bubble for a while what with being poorly and the holiday!

Amanda that sounded like a fantastic trip - welcome Home :D

Legs - it's scaring me right enough. I finally got to start it Thursday I think and yep already on 20%

Am also 'listening to' Linda Bellingham's 'There's something I've been dying to tell you' on audio when I'm cooking or ironing. Time flies when you have an audiobook, but it's definitely cheating and NOT the same for e as reading it myself. I prefer to hear the character's voices as I imagine them.

Anyone else listen to audiobooks at all??

I signed up for the free one a bit back and my brother gifted me a voucher for Christmas.

    Love to you all

I am useless with e books. I always drift off and start thinking about other things or, worse, fall asleep! We listened to quite a few of the Harry Potters read by Stephen Fry. I fell asleep nearly every time!

    Hi Toni and Frogmella a010.gif

I find audio books have their place but you have to like the voice that's reading them. They're good if I'm doing a jigsaw on my iPad for instance.

My Kindle does text-speak but it's like listening to Stephen Hawkins with no expression in the voice! Because of this I don't use that facility.

Audio books are quite a lot more expensive than Kindle books too.

I'm a slow reader but I'm enjoying the BOTM .....I'm just wondering whether the author is deliberately leading you along the obvious path and whether there'll be a twist at the end???!!!!

Happy reading book dwellers .....whichever way you enjoy your books!

    Hi
I've just finished reading The Minaturist and loved it! It's a hard book to describe with unexplained elements in it but beautifully written and one of those books that stays with you and I'm quite likely to read again very soon, this time to appreciate the writing and the details. If you like books by Joanne Harris with their hints of magismagic, e.g Blackberry Wine and the three books in the Chocolate series I think you'll like this.
Historical novel, set in Amsterdam which is based on the life of one household and the gradual and mysterious furnishing of a replica of the house. 5 stars.
He did not say you will not be storm tossed, you will not be sore distressed, you will not be work weary. He said you will not be overcome.

I fall asleep too if I 'read' them at night Frogmella!! Best listened to when gardening/cooking etc

Totally right Legs that is why I didn't keep buying them! I now get 'given' them by family as presents birthday etc. I also think I wouldn't want to 'hear' anything scary

    Nope

    e035.gif

Slosh I loved Joanne Harris (thanks I think if I remember rightly?) to Legs! I might read it then

Legs I too am enjoying BOTM and am up to 28% :)

    Love to you all

I've downloaded The Minaturist Slosh ...it's on my TBR pile! I might read it next after BOTM.

Toni I've read 68% of 'Look Behind You' and about to enjoy more with my lunch!

Before this I've been reading Shayne Parkinson's 'Promises to Keep' series of which I'm on Book 4 now. These are so easy to read and are about family life set in New Zealand which gently takes you along. The lovely thing about it that each book carries on from the last chapter of the book before almost as if it was one big book at one time.

4*s for a nice read when you don't want anything taxing.

I just finished The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion
It follows on from The Rosie Project, that I read last year. Same main character - Don - who is clearly autistic/aspergers but doesn't realise. It is a funny, lighthearted read and I really enjoyed it. ****

I now have NO BOOK to read!!!!   My next one is in transit. Might have to read a magazine tonight. Boo!

I think I may have got this bug on the plane on the way back from Dubai!! What with that air circulation there where a few people coughing and sneezing on it! I think I'm still slightly anaemic because I'm still a little weak and slow and still not a great appetite. I'm a month behind on my blood tests because of holiday!! :o

I know, Toni! I have one now, phew - I know who killed him - but no time to read it! Off to theatre tonight to see The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime and then out for Sunday lunch with my cousin and his husband tomorrow. Intend to enjoy a cocktail, some wine and lots of gossip! Looking forward to the play tonight. Remember loving the book and reviews say the play is excellent too.
Hopefully will have some time this week to read, it being half term and all, so might get a review in towards the end of the week.
Hope you are feeling a bit better, Bubba.

    Disaster narrowly averted then

You will get plenty of reading time this week I am sure.....I do hope the play was as brilliant as the book and you had a tipple or two :)

I know who killed him looks good.

I am enjoying Copycat so far :)

Hi Guys Glad you have your heads in books at the moment, I'm enjoying Look Behind You getting right into it!

It's that time that I need you to start thinking of recommendations for March's Book Of The Month. I have found a couple of possibilities but if anyone else can think of any it would be good. :balloon:

Yes! I have been reading my book and even had a bit of time to do a jigsaw yesterday afternoon. Got Mr F cooking pancakes ready for me to Find*s Crispy up and also for crepes suzette! I ate about 12 yesterday!!

I am enjoying my book which is actually called The Secret Place by Tana French. I did have a little look for a BOTM yesterday but drew a blank I'm afraid! I really enjoyed this month's one so am excited about the next one.

Good to see you popping in more often, Toni. Hope you have had chance to enjoy some of this sunshine.
