Forgive me for 'shouting' but I know you'll all be as pleased as I am :D There was a queue and she was pig in the middle - 5 right hands, DD with both and 5 left hands. She had a blip when she felt a bit faint during the op but they gave her sips of water and, afterwards, as her BP had dropped to 80odd  , followed it up with marmite on toast.

Her fingers are numb and the rest of her hands odd as the local anaesthetic hasn't won off yet. And she's to keep them up in the air for 24 hours? (48 hours?). Ah well, she's home and the lovelyMr DD has just brought her a cuppa and it's all over now. Thank God for that! I don't know about you lot but I was getting jittery.

Well done, DD! I. for one, am going to have a celebration glass now

I very much doubt your hands will have reached ‘internet browsing’ level yet but, just in case, I’m thinking of you very much and hoping you both had a good night.

I've just heard from them. She/they had a reasonable night, given the circumstances and largely thanks to tramadol.

It seems the left hand was worse than the right (she already knew this) and that was where the blip in BP came in but she's a tough cookie and endured the local going in (the left, again, needed more) very well.

As we all know, DD has her head screwed on right and is being very sensible about all this.

She says thanks to all of you for your good wishes. She will return - but not just yet.

Glad to hear the ops went well DD. I expect you are finding things a bit awkward at the moment  , but the days will soon pass and then you will be able to use your hands again. You'll be able to take up some new hobbies once you've recovered - how about ladies boxing? :D

    Take care.
