Oh Numpty, you poor thing, I sincerely hope that you are feeling better in yourself today. I'm on my third pint of water and not feeling any relief so I guess it's coco time. I've been googling sore tongues and it would appear that I have cracked tongue. Possible genetic cause and can't be mended. Bl**dy typical. At least it fits in with the rest of me! DD

There you go again, thinking of others, when you've very far from good yourself!
My upset tum, is just a twinge, churn and bad taste now. The headache however, is quite unrelenting.
I'm sorry to hear about your tongue prognosis. Could you perhaps try polyfilla?
As someone very dear once said, "Keep your chin up, give the bu&&ers something to aim at."

DD I'm so sorry to hear how difficult things are for you. I've just read through this whole thread and am pleased for you that so many people have responded to your post.
Please remember how valued you are and how many people care for you even if we don't all post every week.
Be good to yourself and do as you are and give yourself small goals to work towards. Re X Raying would be a good place to start for sure. There's a product used for patients who are suffering side effects of chemotherapy called Gelclair, it's good for sore mouths and tongues. Perhaps your GP could prescribe it for you to try? it might help.
I've read some works by Khalil Gibran too and find some of his words inspirational I just can't think of any at the moment.
Something I've said to myself to keep myself strong especially this past year is Although I may have cracks I'm not broken. Hang in there DD, big hugs. Rita.

DD I do hope you can find something to sort out your sore tongue - quite apart from it being miserable for you we don't want you morphing into 'woman who speak with forked tongue'!

I am sorry that I have not been around for a while. Pain got the better of me. But, DD, I am really hoping that you are taking things easy and that you are now finding some of that strong mental strength that you have. You are always there for everyone else, and that in itself shows how stronger person you are. I really hope that you get yourself sorted out and start feeling more on top of things. Pain really does pull you down. But also you must remember that you have had other problems as well, and it all builds up on you.

    Take things easy DD.

My tongue hurts (I woke up with a lovely red stripe down the middle of it!) my throat is very dry and sore. I'm supposed to be humira-ing but I think I'll pass on that little joy, for today at least. I feel lousy. Simples. I do, however, have to go and unearth Daisy as I have a non-hospital appointment at 11, shifting the snow from her will take some time but I have a broom which I can employ (if my hands allow).

Once again, thank you everyone, your kindness is much appreciated. Take care, I wish you all well. DD

Hi DD, I'm wondering if your self diognosis of your tongue problem, needs a second opinion, from perhaps, your doctor?
It sounds dreadful, surely there's something out there to help!

Good luck with the snow clearing, I hope your hands hold out

Didn't manage to get on yesterday.

Oh dear DD things are not getting much better are they? I am totally with Numpty time to see the GP who can probably send you to see a specialist regarding your tongue, also while you are there you can have a wee chat about everything else, Quote: 'simples, yes', keep badgering them about your knees etc hopefully will jog things along more quickly. Talking of quotes I came across this and immediately thought of you. "The only medicine for suffering, crime, and all the other woes of mankind is WISDOM"(which you have in abundance)...........Thomas Huxley................hope things take a turn for the better soon................tc..............Marie xx

Oh DD, you must be so so fed up with this. Please get your tongue checked out by the doctor. Hope daisy was willing to go after she was de-snowed.

Try and keep going, things will change for you. As I am always telling my brother, as one door shuts, there is always a new one that opens for you. Sending you some comfort hugs ((())).

Hi DD, how are you today. No matter what, don't forget we're all rooting for you. I agree it would be a good idea to get your GP to push an appointment about your knee and get your tongue seen again.
    Take good care.
    Big hugs.

Once again I send my thanks to you all.

Right, so I did what I rarely do and read the humira leaflet, including the epic chapters on possible side-effects. Personally, I think it's a miracle I'm still 'standing' after reading that ream of potential misery but three things stood out - oral troubles, fungal infections and night sweats. I've rung the rheumatology helpline, I think they're the sensible first port of call rather than my GP. I've done the stabbing, am now resting, and thinking about gargling with salt water to see if that eases things a little. I've also dug out my tongue scraper (ugh) to see if that helps. I guess I'm on the up as I'm bothering with these things. :? DD

PS Val? Compared to your troubles mine are footling - I apologise for not being around lately to support you. I am sorry, I have no excuse apart from selfishness.

Glad to see you ar feeling a wee bit more positive, hopefully the rheumatology helpline will be able to help out with your tongue, I still think you should be badgering the powers that be about your knees, things are obiously progressing when you are feeling as low as this, new x-rays would probably clarify this so would hopefully move things on quicker, hope you have as reasonable a day as possible.....................tc...........Marie xx

I don't remember reading Humira side effects being in the story of how Tigger found his bounce but I'm so so glad to hear it has started you off on the up! Fresh pineapple time maybe to ease the tongue? Keep climbing back up, we're all ready to catch you if you should slip at all but something tells me that with your determination, grit and personality, that's highly unlikely. Lots of love xx

Yes you're on the up, it is after all, the only way you can go, when you've hit rock bottom
Good luck with the tongue scraper  those things make me gag!
I hope the rheumatology helpline get back to you soon, hopefully with some useful suggestions.
I do think Marie has a point, about pushing for a rethink about your knees.
