Hi Im 26 years old I have rheumatoid arthritis and I’m really struggling at the moment and I need advice, I started a new medication called leflunomide 5 weeks ago I’ve felt sick every day since I’ve taken it and I’m having a terrible time with my knee, I can’t walk on it, I’ve done all the things the hospital have told me to do ( elevate, hot and cold, ibuprofen gel, co-codamol, resting) but nothing is helping, I’ve rang the help line and they’ve told me there’s nothing I can do other than resting it, has anyone got any advice or been through this while taking this medication. Please help!!

Hi @chlobrom98 and welcome to our online community!

I'm so sorry to hear you are having a rough time. I am 27 years old and I have psoriatic arthritis so I can relate. It's so hard, especially during a flare. I have never heard of this medication so can't advise however hopefully someone else can help regarding it.

    Please look after yourself

I'm 49 been living with Osteo for 7 years since I had a bad accident, I still get a lot of pain in the early part of the day. i'm on Tramadol & Ibuprofen some days it helps & others it doesn't.

I would suggest you get refferred to consultant who understands RA like (Dr Richard stevens) he's the best & helps me & my family.

Hi I find taking tramadol and ibruphen helps me. You have to take it regularly. Tramadol does cause constipation but it's better than suffering in pain.
