Well, considering she was having her 14th child, I think he must have fancied her rather a lot. Building the Taj Mahal in her memory was probably the least he could do by way of thanks.
I got a conservatory a few years ago, so that's one up on a shed :!:

Hi Rehab
I can't think of anything more constructive than creating 14 children :!: A bit more interesting than fishing :!:
Joan0 -
He might have been better off researching birth control, considering how she died! Mind you, we wouldn't have it to look at then...and that would be a pity.
Annie0 -
14 kids does not bare thinking about

Hi Shipmates
It seems that our captain is in a hurry to leave India, and move on to Thailand. I'm not sure what he got up to, but he beat a hasty retreat back to the ship last night with a few irate looking women chasing after him.
So here we are, on our way to Thailand, a beautiful country, with misty mountains, picturesque coastlines, and some of the best beaches in the world.
Thailand is one of the most devoutly Buddhist countries in the world. I like Buddhists, so I will feel at home. There is a Buddhist centre where I live, and I often see the Buddhist monks in my village. They are lovely, peaceful people.
In Thailand, there are certain taboos which you should know about. Never touch someone's head, or point with your feet, because that is considered insulting. The head is considered the most sacred, and the foot the dirtiest, part of the body. Also, on the beach, never step over someone, because that is the ultimate insult.
We could visit Bangkok, bustling with its dynamic and countless pleasures, but would it be wise to let Captain Rehab loose there :?: Well, perhaps we'll take the risk. So it's one night in Bangkok, folks, tonight :!: Exciting, isn't it :?:

will we get him back he might want to stay thereval0

Don't worry, Val. Our captain will always return to the ship. How could he resist our charms :?: :?: He jumped ship once before, but he didn't stay away for long. We're like a magnet to him :!:
Joan0 -
its all our good looks he knows we all look so good lolval0
-
Hi Val
Well, I understand that he saw you naked in the cafe this morning, so I think he was overcome by your beauty
Joan0 -
lucky he did not have his glasses on lol. so he prob. did think i looked ok with them he would have run a mileval0
-
We're taking the Captain to Thailand :!: :!:
That's it - we'll never get him away:!: Fat Kev will have to take over as skipper again, and we'll probably do a titanic Titanic
Everybody got their lifejackets ready?
Shivers

Only if you feel safer in Scarborough. I went there once and that was one too many in a lifetime.
Hi to whoever here who lives there!
Annie0 -
Hi Annie
BE CAREFUL :!: I'm a Yorkshire lass :!: There's nothing wrong with Scarborough :!: It might not be as exotic as Thailand, but it's a great place.
Joan0 -
Hi all
Thailand sounds lovely Joan, I've noted your advise so hopefully will not offend anyone.
p.s. not far from Scarborough myself, just love the seaside anywhere me. That lovely salty sea air, and sound of the waves wish you could bottle it.
Doesn't Thailand have some of them real BIG waves? hope we are safe there. :?
See you all later

Hi Annie
I must admit that the last time I went to Scarborough, it rained so much that the dye from my jeans ran down my legs, and I ended up with blue feet. :!:
I think the weather can be described as bracing ( or is that Skegness :?: )
Joan0 -
We were in Scarborough to see family there, not there now thank heavens. We've just got family in Margate now and it's just as bracing - it braces me back into bed for a week every time we go there!

Hi Folks
Well, I hope you have survived your night in Bangkok :!: :!: Haven't seen the captain for a while, so I hope he is behaving himself ( some hope :!: )
Walking through the streets of Bangkok can be a surreal experience; gaudy neon lights, street vendors selling noodles, smells of incense and spices, and clubs with "katoeys"(lady boys) strutting their stuff to trashy music, in high heels and feather boas.
It's a beautiful place which teems with chaotic life. All a bit too much for me :!: I'm off to my cabin. Goodnight one and all :!:
Joan0 -
came back to ship early and had lovely sleep it all got to much think i need a lazy day might sit on deck with feet up and wander to pool today will miss the sight seeing but u can fetch post cards back for me. all this globe hopping is getting to me and food great on hereval0

Hi Val
That sounds like a good idea to me too. A day doing nothing, just relaxing and being waited on, soaking up the sun, and watching the world go by. Wonderful :!: :!:
I haven't seen the captain today, so I hope he didn't get arrested or something
Joan0 -
The captain was in with me having a massage. We both had a wonderful time. Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo relaxing
I feel really great and then the sauna and the pool. great.
We are going to try a different massage tomorrow - hot stones or something like that.
He's driving the boat by mobile phone to his second mate or someone
joy0 -
Joy, you relaxed with the Captain :!: :!:
Personally, I'm always very alert when he's around :!: :!:
Be careful - the bilges and the Golden Rivet await the unwary......
I had a good day too - wish I could remember what I did. Maybe it will come back to me, but I seem to remember it involved several brandies, so I think I was relaxing as well.
Luv
Annie0 -
Hi Joy
So that's what he was up to :!: Lucky you :!:I'm glad he didn't get involved with those lady boys in Bangkok, anyway
But be warned :!: That second mate he mentioned might be Fat Kev in disguise, and he's not known for his gentle hands :!:
Joan0 -
Who cares, you have to take every chance you're given at my time of life0
