Aw, I envy you, Barbara! I do not sleep at all well at night, since my knee op. On looking at my diary, 2 years ago, when I had the other knee done, it took 7 - 8 months before I slept all or most of the night, so I have a way to go yet! Three nights ago I slept well, I remember that! :D

    I hope you sleep tonight!

    Hi Barbara

Yes, the knee starts to "complain" and the leg aches. A bit like restless legs because the other leg joins in sometimes! I can usually get to sleep for 1.5 hours and then wake up in discomfort etc. and that is how it goes! The nerves in the knee seem to take a long time, with me, to get themselves fully organised and happy after the op. In the day, I have no problem.

My reason to be cheerful today is....

A couple of days ago I won an auction on ebay for a sofa - for all of £25!

Not having done this before I was obviously a bit sceptical about the sofa's description of 'as new, never been used etc' but thought it was worth a shot and if nothing else would be a 'learning experience'

Today Hubby and I took a trip in a white van from London down to Kent to get said sofa and low and behold we were greated by a brand spanking new, super stylish sofa (and cushions thrown in!) fresh from M&S!!

I don't know why this all worked out in our favour but boy am I pleased with myself today! :D

:D:D YAY, I slept very well last night. :D:D I was sooooooo tired that I did not even write my diary. I wrote it this morning before getting out of bed and you know, it is quite difficult to rememember exactly what you have done the day before! Perhaps it is just me and my one brain cell not working too well. :D

Off out today to see family, so no cooking today. :D

Hope you all have a good Sunday.

Congrats c4thyg, sounds exciting and I hope it all works out well for you.

The Husband has replaced our shower - yippee! The old one was so badly scaled up (closed system, couldn't get into it to treat it) that I couldn't turn it off properly. No more dripping shower. Hurrah! DD

My reason to be cheerful is seeing my two gorgeous grandchildren all clean and tidy going to school, now what they are like when they come home is another thing :)

This is a lovely thread, I like reading about all your lives and what makes you happy. We lose sight of the best stuff too easily these days. I find myself looking out for the little things that cheer me up when I've read these.

    My reasons today are:

    - Made a DELICIOUS curry this morning before work (those big green peppers and potatoes) - I know it's delicious because my hubby just rang from home to tell me

    - I found out someone fancies me at work :-) Childish, I know, but it's one of the new firefighters and apparently he said "that Indian girl who works up in the office is hot" :-)

So main reason to be cheerful - I'm hot :-)

    Nx

PS - sorry to brag, but it's really cheered me up, I usually just feel like a wife and mother (although very well loved), worn a little around the edges from being so busy all the time. It's nice to know I appear to someone in a different light.

Mine is a real reason to be cheerful, I'm still laughing hilariously! The local council have given us a spanking new bus shelter, it appeared more or less overnight and is beautiful.....bright and clean and all one could wish for in a bus shelter. The old one was literally falling down in a heap........

There's just one slight problem, though. NO BUSES have run along that road for the best part of 3 years now..........it beggars belief, doesn't it!

A rather apt comment from a firefighter :!: :lol: He'll have to cool his ardour :!:

    Annie,

THAT is hilarious! They should put a picture of that bus shelter in the dictionary as a definition of the word "d'oh!"

    Hi Joan

I think he'll manage to cool himself - someone's bound to have told him by now that I'm married. Still, it's a nice feeling!

I intend to take things slow. This time though I think I've found a real old fashioned gentleman who believes in actually courting. This is a first for me! If nothing else, I think I might have found a friend. :)

I am so very happy today. I started a book group today run by a counsellor and ive met some lovely people. I cannot wait to go back. We read a passage of a book and we spoke about what the piece ment to us, the charectors etc and all sorts of topics came out of it and peoples ideas on the same peice read was different. It was brilliant and thought provokeing. Also two poems where discused. It brought different emotions out. Just fantastic. :D:D

I also have had an assesment for exercise theropy and i have discounted gym and swim for 3 months and the man who essested me was a great listener and i felt i will love it there and i have my first actual session tomorrow in the gym. The paper work and chat was today. :D:D
I also have been told of new and exciting new courses coming to my area which are free so im over the moon. :D:D joanne

    Hi Joanne

Your enthusiasm is lovely to read. You are obviously living life to the full, which is great :!: There are so many interesting things out there if you look, aren't there :?: My only problem is that there aren't enough days in the week for everything.
