    I am grinning 'cos our un-elected leader has made a great steaming nit of himself today.. I swing between grinning and sympathy - sympathy, grinning, grinning, grinning, grinning, sympathy, grinning, grinning, grinning, grinning, grinning - I think you can see which one is winning. I love typing words that end in -inning - you can get up a real head of steam! Dreamdaisy

    I've got some robins nesting in the hedge in my garden, and they are so tame that one of them came right up to my feet when I was sitting on the garden seat. Luckily, my cat is too lazy to bother with them.

    :D Out in the garden for sure today - did not get around to that yesterday as I got carried away with baking :D:D and ironing shirts for hubby and son. :D

    :D:D Brilliant a long weekend. Friend flying over from Corsica and will meet up with her on Monday afternoon.

    Just got back from a hectic morning which was an early start of 7.45 am I mad or what? :lol: Later shopping and bicycle loaded up but still managed to ride it back home :D

    Now to put the shopping away, change the sheets, some other chores, trim the forsythia, a little cooking and then it will be dinner time which will be fish and chips. :D

    Hope others are being cheerful today.

    My wisteria is out! I loathe gardening now, but still love wisteria and irises. Irises smothered thanks to ground elder, but the other is beautiful. Yippee! Dreamdaisy

    My reasons to be cheerful today include....

    1. I spoke to my mother in Oz today for ages and she is overcoming a nasty illness at last

    2. I found a postcard to my inlaws that is dated Dec '04 which I have posted with a note attached. They will get a good laugh out of that I should think!

    3. I have short hair which can be hidden under my hat and this means I don't have to brush/style it sometimes :)

    4. Hubby is home from business trip tonight which will be nice

    5. I just bumped into my neighbour and had a grand old chat

    :D I have made some focaccia bread but did cheat - it was from a packet. :wink: Smells divine - can hardly wait until lunch time :D
    As it is not raining at the moment, I will trim the forsythia as rain stopped play yesterday, but no worries. :)

    I do not mind that it is raining - I can do indoor chores today and hubby can get on with the humungus task of decorating the hall and landing. At least a start was made on it about 2 months ago. Quite a lot of the paper has been removed so that is cheering because now it looks as if we are decorating! Probably take a time but would not expect anyone to be decorating in their own time, when the weather is fine :D

    Breakies in bed now :wink:

    :D Feeling virtuous! Just listened to the omnibus edition of the Archers and done hula and stretching exercises, rewarding myself with a well earned cuppa and sitting comfortably for the last 15 minutes of it. :D

    Is it nearly mid day? Time flies when you are enjoying yourself. :D

    :D Such progress with the decorating saga of the hall and landing. Hubby worked so hard and I was general dogsbody as usual including teamaker and chef. Roast dinner, his favourite. Got to keep him sweet, long way to go until it is all done and dusted :D

    Seeing a friend this afternoon who I have not seen for a year or so along with husband and three children whom I have never met. As the the rest of the family do not speak English and I hardly speak any French, should be interesting :D

    been out walking with my dogs this morning....first time in 4 weeks..so feeling really good about that. :D

    it's a lovely sunny morning with frost on the ground...early morning bird song & saw a heron flying over the loch...heaven on earth. :D

    You are an early bird :D Been out already. :lol: I am so pleased to hear that you are able to be out walking today, that is something to be feeling good and cheerful about. It does sound like a beautiful setting as you describe it. I agree there is something quite magical about being out in the early morning.
