We are already enjoying rhubarb from this year's crop, rhubarb and apple crumble, delicious. Takes up a lot of room on the allotment but is well worth it.

Good morning Iris,
I did sleep well last night thank you, and this is always a bonus for me. I hope you did too and that you are feeling well today and have been out walking with your dogs. I am going to go and hang some washing out - it looks like it is going to be beautiful day.
Luv

Manic day yesterday but sooooo nice to have hubby home an extra day. Nearly all the wallpaper off in the hall and landing. Walked into town and took a bottle of wine back to a supermarket as it had leaked. Received another bottle plus a refund. Got a bargain on the beers too as hubby was there to carry them for us Got the lawn mowed too.
Today, on the train to see Lola later Homemade soup for supper as do not get back until nearly 8.00 p.m.
Hope you all have a good day,

Happily exhausted after 6 hours with a very chatty, inquisitive, lively, little girl of 21 months

Aw, Ange
I am so pleased for you. That must have been a very long 4 days. Now you can "be" and do bits and pieces as and when. I hope you are not like me and try to get it all done "yesterday". I never learn. what a relief that you do not have the workmen invading your home next week too.
Enjoy having your home back to yourself again.
Love and hugs

Got to share this with you all, although my friend assured me when I rang her the other night that it really isn't all that funny.
I was trying to watch TV when my girls started one of their conversations in which they compete with each other to outdo each other (you know the kind - asking each other brain teasers, etc). I'm starting to laugh already... glad I'm just writing this.
Simie (8 yrs): Jassie, think of a number between 1 and 10
Jassie (6 yrs): OK - ONE!
I HOWLED with laughter, started to cry and eventually my sides were aching. I just found it SO funny. Simie then tried to do the rest of the trick in which she tried to guess another of Jassie's numbers but got it very wrong anyway, which made me laugh even more.
Sorry, no one else has found it funny, but at least I had a laugh!

Just made some GF pastry. Chilling in the fridge. Will make a quiche for my son, as the pastry will be ok to use now.

Hey, good for you and Lucy! Our greenhouse veggies are coming along nicely. The indoor toms are now in their final "homes" which are large black buckets with some holes punched in the bottom of the bucket. We did this last year as we did not have enough large pots as we find they grow better that way than in the growbags, more room to spread their roots The buckets were so much cheaper to buy than pots too.
Made a cheese pie, like a quiche and a large jam tart. The pastry is very difficult to "handle" but I got there in the end! That was truly my highlight of the day! Sad, aren't I? Don't answer that.!

The Husband and I are off to our local Indian tonight. He has had an extraordinarily busy time at work recently, so have barely seen him. I am gradually emerging from my sulks and grumps and it will be good to go out. It pisseth down with rain here but no matter. Life still sucks, just not so badly. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
