I know what you mean about 'empty belly' I loved feeling my babies move and stretch...although there were other things I didn't miss!...like terrible heartburn and stretch marks...oh I still have them

    Hi Ange

i went into labour after Liverpool scored in May 1984 European cup final.i think it was Phil Neal who scored. i missed the 2nd half of the match as in hospital.I remember jumping up as they scored and shouting and that was it....this was my 1st babe.I gather your sons support Liverpool( and you too?).

    Elizabeth

"Support" is not a strong enough word for my two Elizabeth. They are fanatical. You have brought back some wonderful memories of that night in `84. Probably the most exciting game the Reds have ever played. They won on penalties. Frank had had a heart attack in `83, and I was terrified. He watched until full time, but we said no way was he watching the "pellies". So I took him down to the bottom of the garden, until we heard the screams of joy. Happy days! I`m not a real supporter, just outnumbered.....Ange.

Sorry if we have highjacked your thread Jen!

    Hi Ange
Jen asked how to encourage the birth. So far we have had cartwheels, cod liver oil, curry, sex and football!
I have happy memories of that night too.And it was my daughters 21st birthday when they won again!I am not a Liverpool supporter(Aston Villa is my team) but in 70s and 80s adored football. It was a great night for a great team!My dad had his first heart attack in 82 so football and his 3rd grandchild in one night was pretty drastic for him too!So I fully understand how you felt that night.

2 weeks and 2 days til the due date!
He's making no sign that he's getting uncomfortable or that he would like to make his grand entrance to the world.

I've been told that I've got SPD as my hips and pelvis are incredibly painful and I'm reduced to shuffling around the house. But I've got a support belt which helps.

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine.

Yep we've got the name but we're keeping it a secret until we meet him and see if it fits. My family have all been calling the bump Stanley as my 5yr old nephew wants to call him that after his best friend.

the days are zooming past though.......... not much longer now :D

I wonder if your baby bump likes being called 'Stanley'

    Hiya
Saw a lovely midwife yesterday who insisted that we get a handle on the pain so organised me stronger painkillers which are safe in pregnancy. Feeling a bit crappy today so not doing a huge amount. The midwife wants to see me again next week and has said if I'm still struggling on Monday to get in touch with a GP. Apparently its not 'normal' to be in this much pain during the latter stages (I thought it was so wasn't ringing anyone for help!). I was very grateful that she actually cared. She also gave the bump a stern talking to and told him to get a move on. Apparently he's partially engaged (hence the increased pelvis pain) which is a good sign.

Looking forward to pottering round the garden this weekend in the sunshine.

    Take care
    Jen
