My late Father was a plumber for Trinity House Lighthouse Service in the 60's and he was always excited when he had to go to Sark to do some work, he often said that he would be happy being on the island for ever. I have been to Guernsey and Jersey several times but never made the trip over to Sark and now it is too late!

    Afternoon all

The weather here today has been really odd one minute rain ☔️ the next sun☀️ Everyone is ok here.

Well tomorrow is our day for the covid jab, and also my birthday what a birthday present. But I would sooner have it done than not. Tonight we are celebrating my birthday with an at home meal delivered from our favourite restaurant, we used when we had our fortnightly church meals. All I have to do with main meal is reheat it for 20 minutes we are doing it tonight instead of tomorrow in case we really don’t feel like it after our jabs in the morning.

Barbara I am so glad there were no clots hopefully they can soon do the MRI for you. Yes the girls did look lovely in their masks they told mummy they wanted to wear them like her so she got them for them.

Toni the cloak did sweep me up this morning for Barbara’s scan along sorry I was in my nightie and dressing gown and still asleep but i didn’t have a very good nights sleep. Hope I didn’t snore too loudly.

Mike I hope Elliot is ok after his chemo.

    will leave you now

Love and Sparkles to you all ❤️❤️❤️❤️🌈🌈🌈🌈

    Stay positive always👍xx

Mike I hope Elliot is ok after his chemo.

Elliott returned from Bristol on Thursday afternoon and almost no sooner than he and his Dad had gotten through the front door they received a phone call from the Bristol Children's Hospital saying that his bloods were bad and that they should take him to the Hospital in Truro immediately! Waiting for further news.

Kath I'm quite keen to go to Sark ot sounds perfect no lights (like our village) and no cars! I'll have a ride in a tractor though!!

Mike's Dad had history with the place too what a coincidence 😲

The boys are definitely big enough to look after themselves :) I hope ;) 3 bathrooms is ideal with covid.

How is everyone? I hope coping ok?

How lovely the sisters dropping food parcels off. So caring.

Barbara I am so very relieved that it's not a dvt although not happy to hear you are in pain 😔

You are so right Aidan will be keeping an eye on Bill and wanting him to be ok

I hope you are recovered after your mad dash to the hospital now.

    Evening all.

Covid jabs all done next one in 12 weeks all very efficiently run. Very well organised. Even if it was my birthday glad I’ve got the first one out the way. Had it this morning we both have an achey arm but that’s all at the moment.

Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes it’s 8.30 and apart from eating my dinner tonight I seem to have spent since half 2 on and off video calls and telephone calls from the all the family down in Ramsgate. And of course our youngest daughter who also had her covid jab today. We had the Oxford one but she had the Pfizer one. and I had a video call from our GD starting with Lillie and Graycie singing happy birthday to me. It was lovely.

We did enjoy our meal last night. It was very tasty.

I must leave it here as I need to catch up on other birthday greetings from family and friends on Facebook. Hope to post tomorrow.

love and sparkles to you all.

    ❤️❤️❤️🌈🌈🌈

Thanks for everyone's concern about Elliott, he is home again and has something like 83 days of chemo left. So far as I am concerned I don't post much about myself as there is nothing much to write about, most days are the same: 2-3 hours sleep at night, waking in agony which persists all day despite morphine, siting in my recliner 20 hours a day watching TV etc. I do talk to the cat however although it does tend to be one-sided!

Mike you don't need to tell us much about yourself - it's not compulsory you join in when you have something to say and we know you pop by most days to see what we've all been up to. and of course you have a pusskin which is extremely important!

I am very pleased Elliott is home. 83 days sounds like a lot of chemo left he is a tough lad ((())) 👍️

Mig I am rather smitten with that boy too he is so sweet under his lovely cosy blankie. Good luck with your vaccine. We used to see Army docs when Lucy was in the QE. Never treated by one as you know blood cancer treatment is rather specialist, but some of them were rather dishy!

Barbara your leg pain sounds pretty scary no wonder they wanted you checked out really🤔 I hope it eases back. Where exactly is it? can you describe it?

Aidan always looked forward to his croissants a throw back form his happy days in France. We have missed going this year, but who knows we'll have our motorhome soon (I hope) and maybe maybe well probably next year...we'll get over.

My favourite breakfast here si the cooked Sunday brekkie because we never have it at home it's too fattening.

I have to start think again of a wedding outfit. Bridesmaids will be wearing sage green I think so I wonder what will go with that colour 🤔

Carol I am so glad you are all vaccinated. Probably what you'd have asked for for your birthday if you had the choice anyway! Did you tell them it was your big day? Glad your daughter has had hers too🙂 Both had different ones!

I had a bit of a feeling you would be on the phone all day or on video-calls it being your birthday! Lovely the girsl singing to you. I bet you felt proper special 🤗

Very good that you enjoyed your meal too 🙂

Joan how right you are Carol will never forget this years' birthday will she?!! How are you two doing? I am ok ATM thanks no vertigo/migraines. I wish there was less traffic now/ Paul thinks it's about 80% normal last lock down (March I mean last year) it was more like 30%

Kath where are you Mi duck? I hope you're both ok?

I am doing my bird watch today really looking forward to seeing who is out there....mostly pigeons, but sometimes a buzzard in the tree if I'm lucky and a Robin or two🤞

I hope your dad gets his vaccine finally today ((()))

    Sunday breakfast!

I have always been a cat person, just to prove it here is me when I was Adjutant on 23(F)Sqn in the Falklands (nearly 40 years ago) with Rambo the squadron cat who used to like jumping on RAF Police Dogs in the dark - they were scared to walk around the squadron after a while! He was a feral cat until an RAF doctor removed his bits.

I didn't switch my laptop on yesterday, sorry. We are fine. Emily and family are fine, they can go back to work next Friday. Anita has taken dad for his jab this afternoon - it might be done by now. I've been faffing about trying to register with EWM (Edinburgh Woollen Mill. I got there in the end. I love mig's baby blanket, but feel very anxious about Elliott. His poor family must be completely frazzled.

So pleased Sark was a popular choice. where shall we go today> I'm in the mood for Scotland so the Ilse of Harris, Outer Hebrides. Harris (Scottish GaelicNa Hearadh, pronounced [nə ˈhɛɾəɣ]  (listen)) is the southern and more mountainous part of Lewis and Harris, the largest island in the Outer HebridesScotland. Although not an island itself, Harris is often referred to as the Isle of Harris, which is the former postal county and the current post town for Royal Mail postcodes starting HS3 or HS5; see HS postcode area.

The civil parish of Harris is considered to include St Kilda, an uninhabited small archipelago 40 miles (65 kilometres) west-northwest of North Uist, and the uninhabited islet Rockall, which is 230 miles (370 kilometres) west of North Uist.

    Afternoon all

Toni the breakfast must have taken you all day to cook..thankyou..the only time I eat one is on holiday 🤭

I am a positive person and always think the pain will be gone soon..but its been nearly 5 weeks now..its aches like mad from the knee down.. then a very deep sharp pain in my calf down to my foot..I have googled everything ..🤔

I had emerald green bridesmaid's dresses..cream seem to go lovely with them or very pale beige..sorry when is it again I hope this virus doesn't get in the way..xx

Carol glad you had a good birthday ..I can imagine all the messages from your family really made your day..

Hope all is well after your jab xx

Joan I will get there, like you we have to plod on..I hope all is wellish at yours..love to all of you ((())) xx

Mike I love all animals really they take you for who you are ..I would say I'm more a dog person ..but next door's cats all come into ours 😁..love the pic of you and Rambo..there no messing with cats 😅

Gosh it's a long haul for Elliot but so glad he us home xx

Kath we are registered with Edinburgh wool Mill..our garden center has an outlet..I can't wait to go back

Aren't the Scottish Isles beautiful ..I know if Harris tweed...but never busted there..I'm glad to hear you are all OK now to wait for the second jab..xx

I haven't ever been to Harris either Barbara although Paul has with work and loves it there.

Beige goes well with green? I will start to look as soon as we can actually buy the dresses and I can see the colour in real life.

I think Kath went all Scottish yesterday bless her Harris and the Edinburgh Woollen Mill 😉

How is your leg doing? I wonder whether it might be time for investigations maybe an MRI or something? It really could be your back or something like that.

Are you able to see your little bubble person - Niamh yet? and how is your brother doing?

Kath had plenty of news! Such good news that the 'girls' can go back to work this week. My ex SIL is COVID+ as I have said 2/3 weeks after her vaccine (works at the hospice) and it's clearly worked because she is fine only had a pounding head the weekend before. Very reassuring. I had to drop of my MIL's present yesterday for her birthday. Popped it on the doorstep for her (masked up) and then retreated to wave from Paul's van.

I am also very pleased to hear your Dad should be all vaccinated by now.

Thank you for the Harris pics I loved it and have wanted to go for years! What a lovely walk all wrapped up warm🙂

Mike what a lovely picture of you with Rambo during the Falklands was it really nearly 40 years ago? I do remember it though. So you and cats have always had an affinity 🐱

Sounds as though rambo was the boss and absolutely that's as it should be!!😁

Joan are 'they' saying we'll get the virus every year instead of flue? So will our vaccines be for COVID instead of strains of flu I wonder🤔

Paul is in London again working today.

Right we had our naughty breakfast yesterday today we'd better behave...

    But for Kath

when I found the photo that I posted above I was really shocked to see how long ago it was which then caused me to think about what has happened in the meantime and how I have ended up, quite depressing really! Anyway, Elliott came home from Treliske hospital in Truro on Saturday having had his bloods sorted out yet again, now in another couple of weeks he will be back to Bristol for more chemo. He is a tough lad but that's how we are made in Cornwall!

Hello everyone, yes I was in a Scottish mood yesterday (it's in my blood ye ken). Dad has no problems after his Covid jab. I rang him this morning to check. I've also had to ring the housing to cancel our gas check as it's due while we are shielding. I've also had to ring the fire brigade to cancel their safety check as we already have wired in smoke alarms. Then I had to ring my pharmacy for a repeat prescription. 🙄

Pleased to hear Elliott's bloods are now settled ready for his next dose. He's a little trouper. But not happy to hear Cap Tom has Covid. Will mention him in my prayers.

Toni, I like porridge too you know. Greedy pig that I am. But thank you for the egg. Did you like the call of the Eider? I love it. It took me for ever to log on to RSPB to fill in my birds (2 Wood Pigeons and 3 starlings).

Barbara, we used to have a EWM in town but they only do online for now.

Joan, I'm so pleased Dad finally got his jab. Anita had to get a hospital wheelchair to ferry him from the car to the inside. Then she forgot where she'd parked the car. It was a huge place. It used to be the Central TV Studios.

I'm thinking of Dorset today, the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. It stretches for 95 miles from Exmouth in East Devon to Old Harry Rocks in Studland Bay in Dorset and is a fantastic place to explore the geological features of this dramatic coastline - England’s first natural UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Visit the iconic landmarks of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door and the pretty seaside towns of Swanage, Lyme Regis and West Bay.

    Morning everyone!

If anyone can beat COVID at 100 it is Captain Tom and I just know the staff will be doing their very best for him.

Mike yes a lot has changed since that pic and not all for the better healthwise for you, but as you said about Elliott - you are made of strong stuff in Cornwall 🙂 I hope the lad enjoys his bit of respite at home for now before the next session ((()))

Hi Joan you had some snow?! So long as it doesn't settle it's lovely to watch isn't it? Hope everyone is ok> Charley and Annie had their vaccines yesterday pfizer I think. ((())) xxx

Kath Sleek came with me to Dorset she's been watching cats on 'tik-cat' on their Mum's backs in 'cat-packs' so i had to take her in one. It was lovely very breezy and bracing, but well worth it. We both loved the Avocet she promised not to chase any of we saw any, but we didn't/

I also had trouble uploading my big birdwatch figures which were very disappointing this year. 3 woodpigeons, I blackbird and 1 robin. Unusually low for here. It was very cold though🤔

You had a lot of calls to make. I don't blame you for postponing the checks for now safety first.

I had to smile at Anita forgetting where the car was parked! Sounds just like me.🙄 Glad Dad is all jabbed now build up that immunity and he should be much safer.

Love to Barbara I hope all is well and your eyes are ok ((()))

Kath likes porridge as well as eggs🤔don't think I should mix the two so we'll just have eggs today

Love to anyone else who pops in

It's very dark her with the miserable weather. I'm tucking into the egg butty, thanks to Toni. I wouldn't advise Sleek to go anywhere near an Avocet - cop a look at that beak, lethal. Joan, I'm glad you will get your jabs soon, but still no radiator - UNBELIEVABLE!

You will love this place, High Ash Farm is situated just 2 miles south of Norwich

at Caistor St. Edmund in beautiful wooded and rolling countryside.

Run by Daniel, Chris and Stephanie it is a haven for wildlife with half the farm being set aside for wildlife crops.

Chris Skinner's knowledge and understanding of nature has resulted in a wide variety of wildlife establishing healthy populations at High Ash.There are over 5 miles of tracks open to the public on High Ash Farm including a section of Boudicca’s Way.

    Hi Everyone🙂

Joan Sue has good support with her carers such a lifeline. I bet they are cross about the radiator too😠I am very glad the girls had their vaccines bless them and Barbara has had the same one. The Oxford one. I am doing ok how are YOU though? ((())) xxx

Barbara well done having your injections both of you! I hope your arms aren't too sore today? If yours is sore I hope you can mobilise ok needing the two crutches again. I do hope it isn't too long before they can find out what is wrong. 🌈🌈🌈

I keep forgetting to ask you. Have you been able to see Niamh? I know she's in your bubble, but they had had an outbreak at school and it wasn't safe a while back.....

Everyone who has had their vaccines sings the praises of the organisation. So good isn't it?

Any news on your brother too?

Hi Kath I love Ash End Farm (funnily enough I was looking at Norfolk and Suffolk yesterday) we need wildlife havens like these so much! We should go again when the bluebells are out 🙂

I told Sleek not to try to catch an Avocet on Aunty Kath's advice. She said she won't. Honestly😯Do I believe her? Maybe....

Now that is not what i thought a barn owl sounded like? and the fieldfare! I had no idea it was so endangered 😕

I'm very glad you enjoyed your egg butty I think crumpets today , but I'll pop you and egg on yours!

I hope Mike is doing ok and the family. Vixen too of course🐱

and Carol Mr T and Miss Cookie.

poached eggs are available for everyone!
