    Morning everyone

Joan I had a cup of turmeric tea in my lovely neighbours' garden yesterday afternoon it was just perfect! Absolutely made my week it did - it felt so 'normal'. Chairs all safely spaced and a good laugh too I even had to take my coat off it was so warm in their sunny sheltered garden. Thank you for asking my back is pretty good ATM how are your bones doing and how is the heating ??

Ooh Kath a lovely bluebell wood. Sleek didn't realise it's against the law and picked some๐Ÿ˜ฎso we have a house full of them all in jars. She likes jars does Sleek.

I managed to order two more boxes of tests one for Paul one for Lucy so all good now. Arriving today. Let us know how you get on with your first tests.

Got 30th birthday cards for Charley's fiancรฉeis birthday on Sunday. She is indeed an older woman!

Well done shouting for Barbara it clearly worked!

Barbara it's wonderful to see you I hope your poor eyes are rested a bit now ๐Ÿ˜•((())) Glad you had no ill-effects after your jabs.

It will be fabulous to go out for a cuppa and veggie breakfast at our tearooms I can't wait I don't think it should be too long. I real feel for hospitality they have had a dreadful time of it. Finally Casinos will open again soon and maybe my bro will get his job back. Although he has rather liked being a postie.

Glad you enjoyed the mushrooms on toast I made lots because you know what Kath can be like with them๐Ÿ˜‰

Mike My puss has a habit of coming to see me when I have just dropped off to sleep for a bit of fuss which I do half asleep. Last night wasn't great because She had had her flea drops (3 monthly ones so lethal!) and I forgot and had to get up and wash my hands afterwards๐Ÿ™„ They are good girls ๐Ÿˆ๏ธ

Well I am very pleased your shopping order was back to normal๐Ÿ˜ stuf missing and subs is what we expect๐Ÿ˜‰

Yellow is a lovely lovely colour for your walls (I am beaky!) we repainted ours a straw yellow last year and it has really brightened the room up no end. Make sure (I'm sure you will anyway) you keep the chap's number for future use and to recommend locally to other people.

Not too long for your chair too.

What will you do with that money you saved Chris? You can treat yourself to something on board. Paul bought me a lovely pink rucksack (kipling) last time we cruised i use it all the time.

Sounds as though your veins are a bit tricky there poor nurses I bet they all felt failures! Totally worth it though for the reassurance it has given you. Hope you feel more awake now after the sedation. Can't be falling asleep while posting can you!

Does your ankle swell up every day then? I hadn't realised that it was a nasty break.

    Your hair looks good.

Oh dear me I must shut the windows the farmers have been muck spreading๐Ÿ’ฉ

Love of course to Carol i do hope all is well. Get to the shed and fetch back those hours!

Right it's Saturday so Aidan's breakfast....

    Afternoon everyone

Toni yes I am fine I have just been having some time off any social media except quick check ups on Facebook on all the family. Over the last week I have spent my time doing puzzles and jigsaws on laptop. I just got a bit fed up with all the complaining and moaning from people on social media about the restrictions, and how deprived they are because they canโ€™t do what they want. I am not saying thatโ€™s what happens on here donโ€™t get me wrong I love you all , your like an extended family to me. Trouble is I start on one group then I find I canโ€™t resist the others. We are both ok both now had both covid jabs, we had the second one last Saturday. Toni our trip to Ramsgate is at the end of May providing the the next easing of restrictions goes ahead as planned. It was our eldest daughters 50th Birthday on Wednesday another celebration we have had to miss . But our granddaughters did her proud with what they arranged for her. And their joint present to her had her in tears.

how is everyone coping with the restrictions easing. We have the South African variant in our area so there is surge testing testing going on. Just hope enough people in the are have been vaccinated so that it remains controlled. We donโ€™t want any local lockdowns.

Cannot believe our Graycie starts big school in September granddaughter had just heard this week that she has been accepted into the same school as Lillie. And next year it will be Rubies turn as she goes into her second year of nursery. Ashley I believe should start big school in September at the same time as Graycie. I am beginning to feel very old.

I was sorting out some old photos and came across some of my time in the British Red Cross when I was younger. Before our girls were born. And of course before I changed to St John. See if you can spot me.

Also an old one of our girl at primary school

Well thatโ€™s about all for now.

Love and Sparkles to you all

    Morning everyone ๐Ÿ˜

    How is everyone?

Joan P is away!! With her son and Daughter in law (both nurses) so getting the very best of care you can imagine. Does Lexi finish the meds today? Love to you and Sue and both doggies ((())) xxx Started the scarecrows yesterday.......

Barbara a wander around or sitting in the garden on a sunny day....what more could any of us want?

The businesses are so excited about reopening I think my hairdresser was so happy bless her. Many redundancies might follow the finishing of the work retention scheme (furlough) though. Then things ought to start picking up I hope.

Hopefully your builder can do your little plastering job for you. It's the garden for us this year I am dreading the mess. It will be lovely when all the beds are raised though won't it?โ˜บ๏ธ

Do you think our veins get worse with age? My advice is drinking plenty (I mean plenty) and keep warm fluid plumps them up and warmth brings them to the surface . Advice from the hospital with all the kids having blood done all the time and chemo.

Kath I very much hope you enjoyed your day off social media? I see call the midwife is restarting Paul says it's a new series. What will I do when it ends ๐Ÿ˜•

Mike I hope all is well with you and Vixen and things get quieter now in Cornwall that the children are back in school.

Chris are you more awake now? Has the sedation finally cleared your system? I hope so. Not nice but worth it with that procedure I think. Love and ((())) xxx

Carol lovely to see you and the photos. You are front row last on the right. You have not changed at ALL!! The girls too it's lovely looking back at memories like theseโค๏ธ

May will soon come around and hopefully you will be ok to get away. I bet you are so excited! No South African Variant here luckily. I am glad you have had both jabs at least. I am starting to worry about the Indian variant now too. Shame Aidan isn't here to tell us what he thinks. We are off for our first trip in the motorhome on Wednesday just for the night. Let't hope it goes ok!

Gosh all the babies starting proper school๐Ÿ˜ฎ Time flies far too fast doesn't it? When will Lillie actually go to 'big school' I bet that is closer than you are happy with๐Ÿ˜•

And your own 1st baby now 50. Shocking! sounds as though she had a wonderful time thanks to the girls bless her and them. Someone should pat you on the back too after all you gave birth to her 50 years ago ((())) xxx

You are wise spending less time on social media - I rather think that facebook is the worst of the lot it can draw me in so I dodge it almost every single day!! Take care now.

    Take care everyone

Me and the cat tickety boo thanks but apparently all holiday accommodation is 98% booked. A mate came to see me yesterday, and helped straighten the lounge after painting, and said that the traffic was horrific.

Carol, I can tell which is you on the Red Cross photo, front row right hand side as you look at it. You can't mistake that smile. Lovely photos as always. But we do want to see you now you've had your hair cut.

Toni, 'm pleased you liked the Bluebell picture - but are there any left, or are they all in your house? I'd better get Miss Sleek some new jars.

I did my first test On Saturday, negative, but apparently I'm expecting quads in about 6 months time. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Joan, that's such good news, dear Lexi is better.

Barbara, dad's next appointment is on 17th May. He's hoping they will remove the bit of cataract that got left behind. He seems to think that having a new one will rectify his vision. Boy, is he in for a shock.

Mike, I hope your new recliner is comfy enough for Vixen. She's bound to make it her own.

Grilled kippers, brown butter and parsley

    Ingredients

    • 4 kippers

    Morning!

Mike I am glad to hear you are both well. I bet the place looks nice and bright and cheery now being yellow ๐Ÿ™‚

Joan I am so pleased Lexi has finished the meds and feels much better. I think the nurse would have been very pleased you had drunk loads so she could get your veins easier ๐Ÿ™‚P looks so well I saw her yesterday bless her. ((())) to you and Sue xxx

Kath Sleek is over the moon with her new jars! I could hear her in her ickle house sorting them out and putting them on her welsh dresser. I think she was over this morning thanking you?

I'll do the kippers for everyone here in the cafรฉ as Barbara says they can be a bit whiffy, but most people love them and they are good for you!

Those tests do look like pregnancy tests don't they? My bro was worried when he did his because his wife was sterilised and if he had been having even one baby he'd have been in trouble๐Ÿ˜ต๐Ÿ˜

Quads?! Get Gemma and Chesney to help you out. I am so upset about Fiz and Tyrone the stupid man๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Hi Barbara I bet you can't wait for your seeds to come up. I am expecting it do be June before they start our garden which means no gardening this year for me just planting probably Autumn for next year.

Have your kippers here they are done and ready!

Yes we are off for one night on Wednesday in the motorhome. Can't wait! Hope everything works ok fingers crossed eh?

P has come back really well batteries all recharged (steroids are also helping of course) she has been spoilt rotten and why not?

Good Afternoon everyone, why does the text on here appear so light? that can't help Barbara, it certainly doesn't help me! I like a nice clear dark black text. I wonder if the mods can do anything to help?

So Sleek came over early doors with another supply of hembrakayshun. It will certainly come in handy for ANY of my aches and pains. I use it very sparingly because it's very potent, as you can tell by the stink odour perfume. She waxed lyrical about her new jars, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's a new poem appearing on the walls of her ickle house very soon..

As for Gemma and Chesney, I think they've got their hands full already. I can't help wondering what will happen to Fizz an Tyrone. But it will probably work out in the end and Fizz and Alina will end up bezzies. But I'm really worried about Peter after he collapsed at the wedding.

Barbara, you make me feel ashamed with all that gardening and decorating. I tried to clean the downstairs toilet this morning. You probably heard a very loud Aaaargh, as Sleek came trotting over with her Hembrakayshun at the ready.

Joan, I have to say I'm a bit concerned about my next Covid test, I'd better make sure I use the right one, or I'll have to open a nursery. LOLOL.

Sending Chris and Mike hugs and and hope they ae both feeling well, and young Elliott too.

Hello to all you lovely people

what some lovely weather we are having at the moment. Saturday, I was feeling nearly back to myself. I had to go out to post my granddaughter 's birthday card. I couldn't go out until the voucher arrived. It was getting on to 3.30 by the time I had my scooter outside. I posted the card and had a ride up and back the main shopping street, I was surprised at how quiet it was. As it was so nice I thought I'd take a look down at the Wharf. I was a little disappointed. There was a large car park and a housing unit but it was nice to see the canal and the few boats on it.

My ankle swells if I spend more than 20 minutes on it. I always have it up when I sit down as I have declining chairs. Sorry to say Toni, it was the worst fracture ankle you could have. It was a trimalleolar fracture. All 3 bones broke off of the ankle bone. I couldn't have an operation because of how ill I was, and because of diabetes and my age. The A&E consultant along with a registrar manipulated it back into place and plastered it. I can't remember much of that because of all the pain killing injections I had. I was very lucky that those two doctors aligned my ankle back into position. I was shown the x-ray of the ankle it was horrendous. The consultant did say it was one of the worst fractured ankles that he had seen. He wasn't a youngster either.

On to happier things. I am back to how I was - no fatigue or tiredness. I completed last weekend's project and started on this weeks. I have completed the online course I was doing. It was with the International Open Academy. I did the Illustrating and drawing beginner's course. I started it at the end of December when I saw the Academy in Groupon, if it hadn't of had a large discount I wouldn't have done it. I really enjoyed doing it.

I have had a good read of all your posts. They made very interesting reading.

Take care and gentle hugs, Toni, Kath, Barbara, Joan, Carol, Mike and anyone else I have missed.

    Chris aka CatLady.

Toni thankyou fir cooking the kippers I just can't stand the smell my mum was the same with fish, but love eating it

I'm so pleased to here P is doing ok bless her xx

Oh a night in your mobile home will be nice and give you the chance to check everything ..you can plan your garden in Autumn at least will give you time to think things through xx

Joan no plastering done but we are hopeful..I think all the builders are enjoying the nice weather ๐Ÿ˜€..love to all of you

Chris how herendouse your fratured ankle sounds ..you poor thing ..but must say it sounds like you had good Dr's to get it perfectly back in place ..so glad you are feeling more your self xx

Kath I am very good at pottering ๐Ÿ˜…I have my stool that we put foam on so I can get down on it ..long handles tools ..they all help

Light or dark text are bad they sort of move around into one another..xx

    Love to everyone xxxc

Barbara I imagine your eyes (with the blank patches)and distortion are probably all over the text trying to read it ๐Ÿ™„

This is what I found a page might look like Kath. Very hard isn't it?

Glad you enjoyed the kippers I used to enjoy fish far more than meat when I ate them. I am so excited about the trip in the motorhome to Banbury tomorrow. Sleek will be in good hands with Lucy. I want to test everything including the shower and gas cooker.

P is doing ok I think it's useful that she is quite stubborn and the steroids are helping. I reckon Aidan would be sending down good weather for us all.

Kath What are you like! Sleek said it's such a good job she was there with the Hembrakayshun the aroma od which is a delight ๐Ÿ˜ฃmakes your eyes run when she's doing a batch. Bless her. She is indeed trying to write a powim. Mrs Darcey is helping so it's going well so far apparently. She may run it by you and see if Chris will illustrate it for her. She loves those jars!

Please can you all go to Banbury tomorrow and join me? I will do us all some food at the motorhome so it's safe and there will only be 6 of us I can send Paul off for a walk๐Ÿ˜

My theory is that Peter might get his transplant out of the collapse? Well that's my hope if he is staying in the programme? Have you heard anything? Fizz and Tryrone must stay together I am upset and Alina can move to a nearby town.

Joan what shall we do about Kath keep getting pregnant?๐ŸคฃI am so excited about tomorrow night. I was in the motorhome yesterday and I got that holiday feeling. I hope all is ok with you and Sue? Were your bloods results ok? ((())) xxx

Chris that is awful I knew it was bad and they didn't expect you to recover as well as you have from that ankle injury, but you have! Still I suspect that was a blessing because they found out about the other health issues and I think saved your life. Such good Drs you had there to do the amazing job they did. Didn't you say no-one expected you to even be able to walk on it?

Elevating is good - do you have physio exercises for it? That scooter is a blessing enabling you to get out like that. Seeing the canal and some boats is good we have no water near here - the next village has the canal not us. At least the voucher arrived in time for your Grandaughter so it could be posted with her card. I know it's boring but I paypal my children their birthday oney over now. It's free to friends and family.

Well done doing that course Sleek was wondering whether you can illustrate her powim (poem) about her jars when it's finished?๐Ÿ˜

A quick hello to Mike I hope all is well and also with Elliott and family ((()))

Love also to Carol , Mr T and Miss Cookie-paws.

    Breakfast today.....hmmmm?

Vixen and I are fine thanks, she is currently kipping having had her brekkie at 4 this morning. Elliott and his family have all travelled to Bristol for his (hopefully) final round of chemo although they are unsure exactly which day it will be due to his bloods so he will be tested daily and when OK they will hit him with the chemo. And sure as eggs are eggs having said that Vixen is kipping she has just pottered into the lounge!!

Joan, I'll believe that news when I see it. You are far more trusting than I am. I have to see everything in black and white, in triplicate and rubber stamped. Even then I have my doubts. Just call me doubting Thomas (one of the Apostles of Jesus). But if it is true, I shall change my mind gladly.

Mike, I hope Elliott's bloods hold out so that he can have his final FINAL chemo.

Barbara, I'm so pleased you can potter on your little stool to keep your garden tidy. Mine is horrendously messy and overgrown. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Toni, Here is Sleek's poem -

    The ickle house of Sleek

    The ickle house of Sleek

    is incredibly tidy and neat.

Her crystal jars take pride of place

with poems galore on the walls

    The ickle house of Sleek

is really her joy and pride

she keeps it well dusted and spick and span

    With all her treasures inside.

    The ickle house of Sleek

has memories of full of love

her feline friends, both present and past

will keep her busy, such memories last.

Of Aidan, Mother, Cookie and Pepe, her one true love.

    Miss Sleek

Hi to all my lovely friends.

I promise this is just going to be a quick one. As I have just finished a zoom meeting with my Arts Together group, it's a small group with 7 groups around this part of Wiltshire, that before I shut my tablet off I'd visit the Cafe.

Thanks Toni for the cheese on toast, one of my favourites, again I was greedy I had 2 slices. What/when does Sleek want me do the picture. Tell her of course I 'll do for my favourite puddy cat. I forgot to say the reduction cash from my cruise will go towards some little keepsake of the cruise ship as it's one of P&Os new liners and I think mine is only the 3rd cruise it will have done.

No one thought I would walk again, but I am stubborn, bloody minded, determined and very positive. If I want to do something I 'll do regardless of what people say. That frame of mind has got me through several things that people thought there was no way I would.

That's it. Gentle hugs and love to you all - Toni, Kath, Joan, Barbara, Carol and Mike. Hopefully I've not missed anyone.

    Chris aka CatLady.

    Morning everyone!

Well like Barbara it is piddling down here typical for our first trip away in the motorhome๐Ÿ™„

    ๐Ÿš

Barbara yes squiggles and patches with no vision that isn't good but you do well to keep on going and ignore it

Is Banbury by our Joan?! Wow she must look out for us.

Glad you enjoyed the cheesy beans yours was lo salt for your kidneys.

Glad to hear you are coping with the leg all being well the MRI won't be too long now fingers crossed.

Sleek showed her poem to Kath now we just need Chris to illustrate it and it will be there pride of place in her ickle house ๐Ÿ˜Š

Elliott's last chemo oh I am so very very glad it will be soon once his bloods are high enough Mike๐Ÿ™‚ That is when he can start to get better once that's done. One day I am sure there will be kinder treatments and future generations will be horrified by what we had to go through. Yes as sure as cats are cats!! My puss is cross because we have rain!

Kath I love love โค LOVE Sleek's poem. I suspect she has a little bit of help with it? She is so proud of herself and has been preening all night! The little nod to her one love Pepe and lost friends too๐ŸŒˆ

she's cooking you something to say thank you๐Ÿคจ

Now Chris will do her an illustration....then she might try to get it printed knowing her!

You could have had me all summer this year to tidy your garden I can't do a thing in mine sadly with it being done from June on.

Joan are you near Banbury? We are staying at Great Bourton? We will be leaving about 11am all being well Paul has gone into work again first ๐Ÿ™„ Love to you and Sue ((())) xxx

Chris you can see the lovely poem kath helped Sleek write above it's about her 'ickle' house and her jars and all the people she loved who have gone. If you really could do an illustration that would be amazing!!!!!

Oh I rather think stubbornness and shear determination is probably the only way when faced with something like that break. Oh yes you could have given up, but it's not your nature.

A souvenir from the cruise is an ideal way to spend the refund. How lovely a 'new' ship!

Your Arty zooms sound great fun...I am not at all arty like my sister, but appreciate art very much.

Love to Carol I hope all is well with you all

Lovely sunny day here, but still a bit chilly.

Joan, you are our very own news hound. I hadn't heard about a possible tablet in the autumn. I hope it won't clash with any of my other tablets. I take 11 Saturday to Wednesday and 14 on Friday. Making 69 every week. EEEEK.

Toni, I'm tucking into the egg butties, thank you, and I'm looking forward to see what delicacies Sleek is preparing for me. I'm so pleased you enjoyed her ickle house poem. The mention for those who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge was my little addition. I'm sure Chris will adorn it with a beautiful picture.

Anita has just had her annual check at the breast clinic, all clear thank goodness.

Barbara, I don't know about the council, but I'm sure we could het someone to do our garden. But as you say, getting into the back garden is difficult.

We're having a spot of bother with Holly. She took the money for the few bits I asked her for yesterday, but we are still waiting for them. ๐Ÿ™„ I might have to give her the sack. Reliability is not her middle name.
