'night bosh, not a proper post but just a placeholder (or whatever the right term is for 'if you are in before me in morning you will see I've at least read your post') thanks 👍️ . I did make my walk tonight, 4th in a row chalk it up haha, didn't pass any late street parties just a couple in very short summer shorts - yes 2 rays of the sun and the 'shorts people' are back - I'm still in my jacket with the furry collar 😄. Sorry it's so horrid for you weatherwise so that walking requires the 'hard stuff', cooler tomorrow here it says and rain too so maybe better for you & hay fever🤞also good luck if there is an EF singularity or event horizon or other doctor-who style phenomenon - I should be in earlier tomorrow, proper reply then 😊👋 xx

Have a good night everyone 😘 xx

Don't know what those are but they are cute!

Morning Joan yes we have been through a lot me and my friend. It's already 5 months since her wife died. Doesn't time fly?! We had a lovely day for the street party plenty of music food and chatting. Everyone had a good time I think. Hope you enjoyed the nice weather? ((())) xxx

    Morning Reshmi

Good idea about the earplugs soft foam should be comfortable too. You are right to look at your diet - we all are. Would your Mum move the fruit up higher in the fridge for you if you asked her? I bet she would she is a lovely lady. Good news that she is much better, but still wise not to go to MH to visit EF just yet. Maybe today it being a bank holiday.🤔

Did you say your sister is getting help with cooking? Good idea when both parents work this hard, but oh dear me! 😣I think it sounds as though BIL is getting spoilt food-wise. That will not help his waistline!!

Back to you I am so glad you are feeling a lot more yourself. Next month you will be ready and be able to remind yourself that it will pass ((()))

I rather think BR's new name is because that's what you all call him because he is just that! R baby pretty baby.❤️

The party went very well it was just right there, but oh so bright I had to wear my sunglasses all the time or my eyes were pouring😎

    Take care ((()))

Morning Toady I hope you are well.

I was a tad frustrating for me to be honest although I love this village and everyone in in mostly it did stop me getting in the garden on the best day we've had this year! Plenty of nice food company and some music so still good. I was glad we made the effort.

You had a lovely day just perfect! You did loads! Are you suffering for it today? I do hope not. You took time to watch the birds so hopefully mixed it up with some rest periods.

So the decision is made as to where your arch must go? I know where mine is going i just haven't got it yet...... we want one for life although that won't be 30 years now I suppose it could be!

Would be nice to be able to keep the not so good pots (I think they will do that rather than pay for return) at least that way they will stay out of the landfill and be used.

Glad to see that parcel is moving along even on a Sunday which is good hopefully that urgent one will make it for Thursday 🤞Oh yes it's always the urgent ones🙄

I also have clothes which are probably 20 years old one outfit definitely 25 years plus. I should pass it on to you it being a size 6!!! I also have some brand new stuff I never wear. The foodbank can make use of it maybe a sort out is in order as part of my Swedish Death Clean which seems to have gone on hold!

Enjoy your bank holiday too it's already raining here😕

    OMG not shorts?!!!! Soooo yukky!

    Hi Toni

    how are you?

I am indeed feeling better mentally and the trauma of the recent mood - swing etc - time is slowly fading thanks, it might happen again next time, it might not, but you’re right at least I know what I’m dealing with.

yes you’re absolutely right about diet but sometimes it’s hard for me to balance comforting food with healthy with stomach - friendly food as well.

the apples are hard for mum to reach too but I forced my dad to move a fair amount 👍

mums getting better thanks, No EF visit today 👍

    Hello all 👋

Back to drizzly but it was nice when it lasted. So sorry frog that you had to be dragged away from the garden to do awful things like eat cake and have fun 🤭 somebody somewhere probably wanted to go to a party and not mow their lawn or something, there's no justice is there 😄. Yes it was nice to get some bits & pieces done yesterday but I didn't overdo it, I was only outdoors on & off and not for long all told. There was no sitting on benches & enjoying 😂😂 oh so true. Mine is like the cartoon one, too; mind you it's not in a good way, I used to bring it in over winter & it just didn't get done this time, it would need stripping back now & de-mouldering, or else a new one, can I be bothered with the work 🤔. I expect you want to 'see' your nice arch, as well as what is climbing up it, mine will end up covered more or less, which is why a metal spindly one doesn't matter it's just for the shape. Are you having timber ideally? The pot saga continues, they let me keep the small damaged ones with a very tiny bit of arm-twisting & pleas against waste 👍️ but the wrong one they took back, having not bothered to tell me til the van with the supposed replacements got here, that they don't have the right one & had already refunded 🙄. Not the best experience, I'm a few free chipped pots up but a large pot down & will have to rethink some planting. Hey ho. How soon is the car rally trip? are you organized? Hope everyone well at the moment🤞how are Minnie & Winnie? Have a good afternoon, it's not actually raining, so I may nip out briefly between tea ☕️ :) xx

Hello joan, yes I can't say I enjoy waiting for things but we all used to do it, new clothes presents for Christmas etc, no-one expects to do it at all now. But there are a lot more 'repair cafes' and shops opening up, there are a few round here now, only open a couple of days a month though but it's a step towards people getting things mended and chucking less away. It does look like rain mostly here too I'm hoping it's bits on each day rather than continual, so can have a quick walk at least 🤞will be glad tomorrow for things to get back to normal.

Hi bosh, hope things not too bad with you today 👋 nobody having massive tantrums today, DV included 😉 don't suppose soft play is a cure for people being irritating with fridge chiller drawers 🙄. Hope BR likes his mole book when he gets it, is it just a nice story or is it one of those things parents buy to make having specs seem more fun 🤔 mind you specs are more fun than they used to be that's for sure, pink nhs ones and no cool spec wearing celebrities. You asked about the coronation, I didn't watch it though I might see a bit back, I wouldn't be someone queueing up for hours; maybe if you have the energy you feel differently. I'm a bit open to argument either way about the royals tbh. What I really hate about these big events is that someone has to come along after & clear up, if you want to see the King at least don't make a mess, ugh, people 😕. Glad your mum enjoyed watching, hope she's still feeling alright. Subtitles, ooh, when did I last watch anything with subtitles 🤔 there's a question. I think I feel pretty much like you, harder to concentrate because you can't really glance away, but I wouldn't not watch something because of that. Funny that you can sometimes not be sure when you think back whether something you watched had them or not, that has happened sometime you 'overwrite' your memory. Have a good afternoon hope you don't have to spend any of it making up parcels of emergency fruit & veg to be dropped to bill by carrier pigeon to save him from the 'triple ook diet' (out now in all bad bookshops 😱), bye for now :) xx

    Hi toady

    how are you this evening?

I wasn’t feeling that positive today so I had a v hot shower for my back pain and when a sad song came on on “dot - ify” I cried, which I think turned out to be a good thing, “ letting it out”, that kind of thing.

did a lot of laundry- hence the backache but I think in the end it was good for my back to exercise it more than I usually do, I get scared when the back pain starts you see, not always sure of best policy regarding movement, but I’ve got a telephone physio appointment soon so that should hopefully provide some answers.

dads cruelty towards mum is hard to watch at times but she’s feeling a lot better today and is in better spirits so I’m so glad about that

the thing is the difference between “female symptoms” and mental health relapse is such a fine line that it’s a terrifying line to be near, not that I’m making light of the former obviously.

Toni kindly enquired about CPNs, but, where I live at least, people only tend to be allowed to see them in a crisis, RR may have some kind of private CPN I don’t know, but I know that that’s not the case for most people.

so after the totm symptoms when I couldn’t calm down however hard I tried I just felt 100 % drained like I was sedated or something which I guess is what I needed really, but the whole “incident” was a terrible reminder of the past and a possible future, even though I know that I am looked after and complete incurable relapse is unlikely etc, also basically I was suffering from hyper ( insert appropriate suffix) - I don’t want to risk being banned from this site - opposite of as*xuality of course) - just being careful not to write down the actual word😀 - so in my family there’s not anyone I can really talk to about things like that…you see the problem.

anyway that’s over I guess for now just wanted to “talk” about it thanks toady

Bills cookery book - yes well infinite ook alert I believe lol

ill go for now, bit tired

    good night toady tc xx

ps I don’t think Spock is impressed with Bill’s bacon salad lol. Xx

'night bosh 👋 grumpy mode for me this evening I'm afraid, rainy weather stopped me getting out or walking, and too gloomy & dark to do much indoors either really 🙄 mustn't grumble I suppose but it was such a contrast to yesterday, you can't help think it's a day wasted that could have been nice, and who has handfuls of days to chuck away? mumble mutter. Anyway it means I've been spending too much silly time online which is not good either. Sorry it was a bit of a down down day for you, (& with more reason than the rain making me grumpy) can quite see how a bit of cry to a sad song would have been therapeutic, it will have helped 👍️ & well done doing laundry &c even chores are tough some days, interesting that it helped your back, you're right it's a fine line always between too much movement & not enough, quite hard to judge 🤔. Glad it's been helping to talk in the cafe too, I get that it's difficult with your mum and I hope you'll be prepared for any mood problems again like you said to Toni. No-one can sympathize exactly with anyone else's symptoms but I've had meds affect me on occasions and just hanging on to the idea of things passing was definitely the most helpful thing for me. You know yourself you're doing well with your MH 👍️ but in any case hope you do have less troublesome times each totm. No EF was probably no bad thing, for you, and your mum too. Have a good night's sleep I hope :) xx P.S. nobody does 'unimpressed' like Spock, do they, it's like an art form 😂

Morning Joan. Thanks For asking Paul still has to have the 'tilt' test yet: https://www.bhf.org.uk/informationsupport/tests/tilt-test

I am presuming you've still not heard about yours?🙄Oh how lovely Princess Anne being in Swindon a bit too far for you yes, but she is a hard working Royal. Love to you both ((())) xxx

Morning Reshmi. Did you have all that rain? It didn't stop here all day, but is supposed to be better today.

Well that's just not fair is it if your Mum can't reach the fruit either your Dad can be proper naughty can't he🙄😠 Is she all recovered now? Probably best to dodge EF in the circumstances she wasn't fit to do her usual mammoth cooking session was she? and rest is probably more what she needed.

The entertainment of seeing those boys though would have cheered you all up.

I am hoping you are feeling as well as you ever do today? not too achy with your neck? Paul was joining you with a bad neck yesterday hopefully he is much better today. They are one of the worse pains along with backs. They effect everything we do from coughing, sneezing, watching TV to sleeping and even using the loo😕

A little bit of comforting food when we need it does us no harm in my 'professional' opinion. Ok I am no more qualified than BIL but I think maybe better behaved🤭

In fact he paid this lady to do the above pic for him! I'll have a decaff!

    Take care ((()))

Morning Toady what a day yesterday. Didn't do much Paul's neck was playing up so i was waiting on him one wheatie in the microwave at all times. Paracetamol then ibuprofen and so on....🙄

The arch is on it's way!!!!!!!!! Yippee! Not bothered if I see it it's for hiding the annoying new neighbours and also for my lovely passion flower from my wonderful neighbours to grow up. It is metal in the hope it will survive until I pop me cloggs!

Next door honestly! They had a coronation party (saturday) and still had people parked outside ours until yesterday. The Milk wagon really struggled to get past. They even had their own marquee ignoring the village 'do' she is proper 'lady of the manor'. They set of fireworks too even though the farm animals get distressed.

Ok not sure if I think you were up on the pot 'deal' you know....big pots are what you need not chipped smaller ones...best give it some thought.

We did the same left our benches out and they will require serious attention now sadly.....fingers crossed we can save them. I never sit out unless I have a visitor outside, but if Paul wants to sit I am often doing exactly what that cartoon shows!! I thought you'd be the same. Sounds as though you paced yourself on Saturday. If My garden was under control I'd have been fine with a party, but it's not and it was the first reliably good day for ages🙄 grump grump....

Am I organised for the rally?! me?🤣errr nope!

Seeing Win and Min later on today😊 You take care.

    Afternoon all 👋

Bit thunderbolt & lightning very very frightening⚡️ 😬 for a while there anyway. It was forecast here from 9 onwards, but wasn't, I was out in the garden til at least 1 🤷‍♀️ then it set in & no mistake. Hope not the same for you frog - you were v lucky indeed for the coronation, really no other reliable nice bit since then. Own marquee next door, eh 🙄 how very recherche, that's not right is it, showy? La-di-dah? You can roll your eyes at that, but fireworks, that's not on 😠 they should & presumably do know better 🙄. Get the new arch/barricade up and get half a dozen more, I might myself 😄. Rain stopped play for doing any more to mine today, and I had other stuff I wanted to do, I spotted a newt! literally just before it started thundering - in the cold frame 😮 one quick pic before the deluge, when I find where I've put my camera down I'll post it. I wanted to stay & check it was ok etc but rain's one thing, lightning's another 😬. Et tu with the benches then, yes decisions to be made. I might do mine up, we'll see. I can't get up the energy for more pot shopping atm so everything might have to make do. Has put me off the 'Business in Question', anyway, shame. Btw did you know you can now leave pictures in your nosegay feedback?! Oh I can just imagine 😱 they bring in some silly new thing all the time these days, none of it sensible. Hope Paul's neck is easing off today and you can tone down the nursing👩‍⚕️🤞xx

Hello joan, yes exactly, I ordered a big pot for a reason, I'll pick up something cheap & cheerful otherwise my broad beans will have to play musical chairs and see if they can nab a pot off something else 😄. The reviews for this firm are awful, seems you're lucky if this is the least sort of thing that goes wrong! - rude staff, mistakes, workmen doing a bad job etc - same old story, 'used to be a good company but have gone downhill' 🙄. Would rather shop locally but not everyone delivers. Yes the litter dropping makes me v cross, I'm sure when Christopher Robin went down with Alice he didn't drop any chocolate wrappers 😉. Have a good & not too wet afternoon I hope :) xx

Hi to bosh, catch up with your news later 👋 must go & think of some lunch. Why am I eating lunch at half 3, you may ask? good question 🤔😄. Hope your day is not too bad, raining bats & frogs here, no self-respecting purple-feathered owl would go out in this 😱. See you anon :) xx

Very small 'smooth newt' (I think 🤔), it had moved when I looked later so is ok I assume 👍️. The plant pot is 9cm across, for scale. Can't enlarge pic much it will get blurrier. The seedlings are Osteospermum Sky and Ice, frog, every one germinated - one minute it was just a tray of soil next day they were up 😍.

Morning Joan I suspected you hadn't heard yet or you would have said😔 I think you might need to chase it up soon? If you ahve a nice GP maybe they will do it for you? Winnie and Minnie were both adorable bless them. Lucy is away this weekend i am going to introduce them both properly. Lucy is too scared I think! Have a good day both of you ((())) xxx

Morning Reshmi I am glad to here you Mum is pretty well fully recovered.☺️Does this mean we might hear some LA and BR stories this weekend maybe?😍

Your neck though, you are still being careful that's very wise. Will you be able to manage the group? fingers crossed for you.

Thank you Paul managed a day at work but had to rest as soon as he got in the door bless him.

Those Reading biccies were posh ones weren't they? A lovely photo of Reading's history there thank you.

I love red cabbage you know. It's one of my favourites. I think it's very good for us too so if there's any spare can I grab a spoonful please?

Take care and well done keeping up your walks.

    Morning Toady

    Galileo, Galileo

    Galileo, Galileo

Galileo, Figaro - magnificoo-o-o-o! Yup major rain here too! But I managed quite a bit like you.

fantastic pics of your 🌱 seedlings, the newt too (I love him💗) and the Geum! Beautiful well done. I have one or two things flowering I will try to take you some pics later if I can.

I know I know such a show-off my new neighbour. About 15 cars parked outside my house and up the lane which is already very narrow and on the 'wrong side' making it very difficult for the milk wagon to collect the milk. The fireworks are plain wrong. Poor animals. I do not want to see a stupid marquee squashed into their tiny garden so the arch will hide that. I will grow the passion flower both top and bottom of it so it's 'fuller'? If you know what I mean?

Oh yes I did spot the possibility of posting pics to nosegay and decided not to bother with it for my last purchase 🙄 I suppose they do do that on Catazon so maybe that's the idea?

I am off to the foodbank this morning to 'help'. Probably to hinder🤭Wanted to help pre-covid only for 2 hours but better than nothing I hope.

    Have a good day.

    Hi again Toni

so basically bb tried to teach LA phonics with his phonics cards, but LA was too proud to admit he can’t read when he has a seat in House of Lords and frequents same hairdresser as Boris J, so my mum pretended she couldn’t read as she’s a “sinny / silly adulk” so then LA taught HER how to read with the p cards lol even Peppa laughed🐽🐽

btw Bill is going alone to L Vegas later on this year for the eating holiday, he’ll meet up w a male friend there while sis stays here working and looking after kids!! Who knows maybe she’ll visit the divorce lawyer at same time lol

i saw on fb news or something similar that in a cheeseburger from MD someone found a mouse!! 🤢

no point me telling LA though, he’ll just say, “ no need to tell lies mima, nobody does that at MDs - because they’re scared of green - faced witch” lol.

so g faced witch is enforcing health and safety laws now - apparently!

    ok that’s one instalment

    bfn Toni tc xx

ps still on reading biscuit theme, btw biscuit box in previous pic was also of the Reading variety xx

    Hi all

Hope everyone having a good day 👋 drizzling on & off but not too awful. Every time I set foot on the doorstep this morning it started raining and every time I gave up & came in again it stopped 🤨 but I tricked it in the end by half-pretending to run a bath, then it came out sunny of course, so I nipped back out and double-bluffed it, ha! Fitted in a nice little session; came back, topped up the bath; win win 👍️. I got as far as one more of the arch's leg holes, and found the soil auger did help, so it was worth getting 😀. I can picture what you mean about the arch, frog, and the way you intend to grow the passion flower to best effect. Hope it all goes to plan. A bit less rain now and could fit in a lot more couldn't we 😔 things are bottle-necked, & stacking up on the utility room draining board as seen in pic, which I am always going to never let get untidy & earthy again haha. How was your morning at the food bank? Hope Paul is ok today, not nice to have to just get through work with not much rope as it were. Hope another night's rest helps then it's the weekend🤞. Also hope Min & Win didn't show their claws to the 'referee' 😮. Have a good evening, I may help myself to a frog doughnut if no boxes of biscuits are to hand 🍩. Btw it should have crossed my mind that Bohemian Rhapsody has a Figaro reference 😀 you can (or maybe do!) re-enact Wayne's World with extra emphasis on that bit, can't you 😂. Bye for now :) xx

Hello joan, there has certainly been lots of rain and awful in some places 😮 especially in the southwest. The thought of being evacuated from your home 😫 poor people. Nothing more than on/off drizzle here today. No sign of the newt, I only saw it in the first place because I moved a seed tray, probably using it to stay hidden & sheltered so has found itself somewhere else I expect, I didn't want to move anything else & disturb it. Have a good evening, hope you & Sue have had a good day 😊 xx

Hello to bosh, hope things ok neck not too bad. You were up early 🌘 ! I was having a cup of tea round half 7 maybe 🤔 no box of 'breakfast biscuits' unfortunately 😔 they do look nice, and back in the days when every time you bought some they didn't get smaller & worser (sorry bad grammar, pass me the phonics cards 😄). Neighbours have just turned up and are currently scuffling around next door, not sure if they are bringing things out or taking things away, must go & twitch the curtains, they are making me v nervous 😕 it's so nice when I go back to forgetting there will be someone in there one day with noise and tvs on and the rest 😱. Back later 👋 xx
