I totally agree with the iced coffee recipe! Someone once said to me in a letter 'cold coffee reminds me of you'!!! I'd far rather have mine hot and of course decaffeinated😉

Very good pics all round yesterday LA would approve whole heartedly to the cheese eating advice/etiquette. None of your picky miniscule nibbling for that cheese monster!

Morning Toady It's still foggy here🙄

Sleek loves her new coat she really does it arrived pretty quickly and she won't take it off! I have had to open windows to cool her down so Paul myself and Elfie are freezing! She slept in it too. You'd think she'd be warm enough with her own 'real' fur coat on.

She didn't mind her jab nor having her nails cut. I am most glad her nails didn't need doing because I had to cut her off of the old cat scratcher as she'd got stuck. The tree you understand not her nail I am no expert trimming pusskin nails. She'll no doubt show you her pedicure and manicure later on.

She said the bangers and mash were spot on and 'filled the gap' nicely. Those gravy granules are tricky customers as Reshmi's Mum will attest.

Elfie is still busy trying to be allowed to stay out of the basement

I think mum is feeling slightly better but she’s still suffering a lot unfortunately

Also yesterday some people (female) came to the door and accused us of stealing the younger woman’s phone

Then the police came round and asked if they could search the house

Mum said no and that’s all that happened

But the younger woman was very verbally aggressive and they were accusing mum and dad to their faces just before her doctors appointment 😱

She said her app said one of us stole the phone

And there was so much tension all round yesterday

I didn’t even get to have a shower

LA was very fascinated by a piece of Red Leicester cheese on Christmas Day- he thought at first that it was a piece of marrot! Bless him, lol, yes it was very much a revelation to him that cheese could be orange 😂

Hi all 👋 the cold has really got the better of me today 😕 just nasty. Can quite believe there is or will be snow around somewhere.

Why on earth didn't I buy myself a fun fur while I was at it frog 🙄😄 especially seeing how well Sleek suits hers 😍 sorry about having to have the windows open 😄 oh gosh it really has been beastly today. Have had my evening 'constitutional' but apart from that I threw the towel in very early today, just not my temps at all 😕. And yes this time of year is very much the doldrums, hope you did get a drive and a coffee maybe. Love the little mallow men they are enviably warm, you posted another similar the other day I actually had that as my xmas card one year 😊 as well as a sober religious sort for my sober religious people. Glad Sleek didn't mind her appt too much this time, yes her manicure is very swish indeed. 'Ballet slippers' polish, just like the Queen, very tasteful. Hope someone helped Elfie out and he got a jolly good joke out of his cracker 😄. Have a good Sunday may get a bit of sun one day but have to sit through some not nice rain & wind first and will be paying for the sunny days with even lower temps omg 😣. I agree you ought to have got yourself a faux fur coat too so you would both match when you go for a walk. Sleek is trying to fine one in your size. She reckons she can. I can just picture you both hand in paw walking along the road with not a care in the world. Her with her 'ballet slippers' nail polish on…. very tasteful. Sleek did very much admire our Queen in fact she has quite a lot of memorabilia in her ickle house.

I am absolutely fuming about what happened at Reshmi's yesterday really livid.

Glad you saw the photo of the baby now look again for the latest Elfie pic. It's in the same place as the girls don't want photos of Arya on the internet and she's in it too. I think Elfie is a tad jealous actually. You'll be glad to know he did get his cracker open with help from his Daddy the joke was rubbish, but he got a small (Elf sized) pack of playing cards.

There should be no fog today I hope. Did you read about all the planes cancelled due to it even in Heathrow? So it wasn't just us here in the Midlands. Making another hot choc for us all see below.

Hi all 👋 chilly innit 😬 your daily technical weather report 😄

Two rainy days over New Year and a '2-snowflake' symbol forecast for a couple of days going into January, but at a pinch would rather have those than the wet. Yes a lot of fog disruption around frog, air traffic etc (but you can scale down all plane travel for me, unless vital, and scratch Heathrow expansion plans &c, once I'm in charge 😉) - still misty here more than foggy really. Not sure why everything is quite so wet when that's all we've had for days - trees dripping everything very damp underfoot etc 🤔 would be nice for things to dry up for a minute but not much chance. Also have to think if any plants need any more frost protection. Have been for my little evening walk, in my furry collared jacket, I will be much better once Sleek sources my fun fur 😄 ooh both of us together, we will be 'sure to turn heads' as the nosegay AI says about every single item of clothing ever 🙄. Lovely family pic thank you Elfie does look very interested in proceedings so maybe he is coming round to the idea of sharing Paul 🤭 and hoping he might get someone his size to give him a hand of cards . Hello Joan, yes still quiet 👍️ fireworks going off occasionally when you aren't expecting, not many though. Not as cold today I didn't think but will have to gear up for the next 'cold snap' 😬. Yes I use the internet for so many things, games too, shopping & banking it would be very hard to manage without like Charlie 🤔 I do only have payg for phone calls but internet on phone I use off the wifi, payg would be too expensive; it does mean not being able to go online if I'm out though but that's not often 😄. This evening I saw someone walking two little dogs with collars with blue lights, in the dark it looked like they were just floating collars 😮 good for safety though. Have a goodnight 😘 xx

I grabbed what I thought were gloves on my way out tonight but when I was out I found I'd actually picked up the hat of the same set instead, so had to clutch that round one hand like a mitten and put the other hand in my pocket 😳😂. Good move not going to the cinema with them, (even though I really want to watch Paddington in Peru) time alone for you. I will have to wait until Arya is older though else people might think me a bit odd!

You can instead stay at home and turn the heating down (then back up quickly in time) or alternatively you can have a nice sleep😉

You know your Mum she loves seeing them all she'll want to have them back over and their visit will entertain you yourself too.

I'm so glad the police were understanding and did not think for even a moment you had the missing phone. I doubt those apps are 100% accurate. I am sure it could have been somewhere within maybe half a mile but actually your house? Completely mad. What an awful shock waking up to an aggressive person like that.

Tomorrow you hair will be cut (I am 17th January so a while yet) and you will feel much better. Yup the Rapunzel look will be banishéd forever!!! (dramatic Disney-speak) Well a month or two anyway!!

Has Sleek sourced your coat yet? Last time I asked she said she'd found one but it wasn't quite matching hers.

The fog had gone and left lighter mist yes l could actually see the sheep! But yes I was think exactly the same why has it been so very very wet during this period? The lane I walk on has had a flood all week. But as far as I know there has been no actual rain. The baby coos are in their barn keeping dry and being treated to lovely hay every morning. They call out to me as l go past.

Not more rain and snow no nice sunny cold DRY days? woe😒

Good news for you and me is that eating meat produces more greenhouse gases a higher carbon footprint than catching a plane. So you are doing ok. When you are in charge I will vote for you.

Twixmas or 'Taint' is what I've heard this time called. All l can say is I don't like it and this year, with it being so dank, I have found it faintly depressing. Roll on New Year so normality is restored.

Ah you think Elfie wants Arya to play cards with him? I'm sure she will when she does a bit more than sleep eat go to the loo with minimal bawling thrown in. Hi all 👋 hope all's well with everyone today.

Yes we should get 3 or 4 dry bright cold days soon frog, although I could do without the forecasted -5 overnight 😱, unfortunately shocking couple of wet windy days first at which point everything will get just get damp again etc etc 😕. I did spend some some time in the garden today mainly because I know there'll be no chance much til Thur/Fri otherwise; really must give in and buy a new kneeler or stool or something instead of just bending like a silly person 🙄. Yes roll on New Year, even me and Sleek are rather glum company at the moment. She is 'on it' with the coat she says so I leave the matter in her capable paws 😺. I am glad one of us can find something to smile big smiles about 👶😊 and Elfie is happy too with his posh chocs, he might not be smiling if he knew the price of chocolate these days 😱 gosh shocking. I hope it hasn't been 'two for me one for you Daddy' 🤭. Well if you can see the sheep and hear the dear coos calling that is two more things to smile about 😊 have to take your Twixmas cheerfulness where you can get it. I don't trust the weather forecasts I was saying to Joan it seems to change daily at the moment i am expecting rain this afternoon for a day or so then super cold possibly snow🙄 Sometimes I thing even the meteorologists are partially guessing.

But I can see the sheeps!!!!! and you got outside well done for that. I have two kneelers one with handles one without I prefer the one without. The one 'with' restricts my arm movements. I am doing strength exercises to ensure I can continue to get up from the floor and minimise the risk of falling. I hope they are helping🤞

Elfie has been at those pickled onions I did earlier this year?

He does share quite well. Yes please tell me why has the price oof vegan chocolate shot up???? Perhaps it's all chocolate?

Today the day at least has a proper title being New Years eve. Then tomorrow is a bank holiday. Life should gradually return to normal thereafter 🤞

Sleek is getting ready to come over on her own little motorised scooter as the weather is fine atm. If It turns bad before she returns please do book her a catsi will you? She has brought two vegan hot chocolate bombs for you both some 'cumfut' food she says. She wants to watch the Wallace and Gromit film please when you're ready.

Hi all 👋 what a New Year's Eve 😣 lots of celebrations will be cancelled methinks, someone has let off a few half-hearted fireworks I suppose there will be more at midnight. Wouldn't trust a rocket not to head off somewhere it shouldn't in this wind!

Have barely foot outside frog, partly because it's been so grim but also hit a Twixmas low myself, had not heard from a friend all over xmas and by today really started to over-catastrophise they were not well or something, have finally heard this evening. (Must be rather nice to be blissfully unaware that some people are born worriers and will fret if they don't hear back to emails etc.. 🙄.) Will be off to bed early myself and listen to something while this weather passes over, even if I don't actually get to sleep - heavy rain tomorrow for us but not for as long as originally forecast (hopefully!) The wind had not got up by the time Sleek left, but I popped her in the catsi anyway in case it whipped up all of a sudden 👍️ scooter in the boot, no problem 😄. The hot chocolate bombs were lovely cumfut was definitely needed 😽. Yes all chocolate 💴, I used to buy little bags of 'Gorn up Tons' for £1 by the tills in WHs, now £4.50 on brand's website 100ish grams!! We will get around to Wallace & Gromit soon I was too busy being overwrought today 😬😂. I find Norbot a little scary myself, and I suspect Elfie is very much hoping you don't come home with the soft toy version! 😱. Oh not pickled onions Elfie, not on the sofa!!!! 😬. Thanks so much for the sheep 😊 I hope it will not be too nasty round your way. Will you make an exception on early bedtime & stay up? 🎉. Hello Joan, funny about the policeman 😄 you reminded me the classic jokes & cartoons are always of a dog stealing a string of sausages aren't they. All quiet next door, I assume the work was being done by or on the owner's behalf because if he's renting it things would need doing that selling wouldn't have. You can sell a house 'as is' but can't rent out a deathtrap can you there will be requirements. Anyway either the tenants just put up with the work because it benefits them, or may have been helping, they might know the owners for all I know. I expect there will be more work yet but any quiet time is better than none! Awful weather out there tonight you would hope it will put a damper on any fireworks hope not noisy for you & the dogs 🤞.
