Don't worry about reading back Karen. Sometimes if I miss a day, there is too much to read. Hope your daughter enjoyed the animal sanctuary. I wanted to be a vet but didn't take biology as I didn't want to cut up animals in class.

Barbara I went in to Ald* yesterday and bought some chocolate things for Xmas. Not tasted theirs yet. My daughter said there is a L*dl across the road from where she works. She bought lots of their sweets at the weekend and they sat and ate them all. Just to check they were ok to buy for Xmas you understand. A Slanket? Good idea. Sounds cosy. I keep wondering if I would wear a Onsie. Not as jammies. And when I get up, I need to get dressed straight away so not sure.

feeling exhausted but got my feet up in bed, hoping my boy behaves downstairs in the k. all alone.he'll be helping himself to all the chocolate and eating the rings off the cans and then the cans themselves. i'll send Lu down to get him upstairs soon.

I'm not keen on the onesie-if you need the loo its more to remove and leaves you with cold shoulders...no couldn't cope with that in the middle of the night.

Barbara cheers for letting me know £20 off tablets at tesco's.they do do some deals at times.

    Cannot stop as so tired....
    hugs all

    Hi everyone

It's good to see you posting Karen and if you forget any of us we really won't mind - it's hard when you haven't been on for a while. I like getting pressies for everyone too, but as they get older money is more use I suppose ::)

    Elizabeth

I hope he can pick his marks up because Charley was very upset and couldn't do radiology because of it.:( I remember your daughter could have gone to Japan. the job will see her through now :)

I wouldn't go for a onesie either because I would get trapped inside one too when I needed the loo

Interesting the k spammers could just do that - I hope they don't suss it. That'd be the danger in letting us know which words would trigger the spam filters as it would let them know too

Christine I LIKE your daughter's style with those chocolates!!! Of course they needed testing  I hope they were up to standard

It's really hard to get a place to train as a vet isn't it? My eldest two's friend got % A*s at A level (maths, Biology, Chemistry and physics oh yes and extra maths too  )and still didn't get a place :( He had reapplied now for next year.

Glad you are getting the bank hols off at least. Did I say they have about 14 in France??!!

    Aw Barbara
The baby has been :) Odorable. Yes everything needs baby-proofing doesn't it? and the poor puss is sacred of her too

French is going well thanks - I rather like it only two more lessons though before Christmas :)

That slanket sounds good - is it less like a onesie and more like a blanket then?? Easy to take off??

Love to everyone and I hope I haven't missed anyone

    Love

Sorry about that. My son phoned half way through my post so I clicked submit because I'm never on the phone to him for less than an hour and knew I'd lose my post. Now, where was I?

Elizabeth, we all know how busy you are so don't worry about getting on here. It does make life a bit easier when they only want the money, doesn't it? My son has just phoned. The kids had said they wanted ipods. Apparently, they already have those but they don't work properly so my son suggested iphones. The cheapest he's found so far are £400. Not sure what my GS has re the playstation. I don't know one from the other. I know he plays games on it but not sure of the make. He got it for Xmas last year. Hope your son was ok downstairs. Glad you got your feet up. I'm sure you could do with the rest.

Barbara, I know what you mean about the babies reaching things. Before my daughter comes with the 2 toddlers, I have to move things, including putting all the knives and forks from my kitchen drawer as they empty everything. I've looked for locks but can't find any that will fit. Haven't had any more dreams yet Barbara.

Elizabeth, yes that's another problem with a onsie, going to the toilet. 14 bank holidays? Wish we had more here but it wouldn't make any difference to me anyway.

Managed to get the first coat on 2 more walls in the little bedroom. Just a coat of maybe pale blue now on one or two walls and another coat of white on the rest. When my son phoned, he said they had bought a gaming chair for my GS's birthday. Everyone is putting towards it as they are a bit expensive.

Hope everyone else is as well as they can be.

    Morning Everyone :)

If I go AWOL it's because of my computer. Hopefully, Santa will bring me a new one - but I dread the thought of Windows 8

Christine, I have never heard of a 'gaming chair' before - shows how behind the times I am :)

Karen, hope your daughter enjoyed her day with the animals :).
I'm much better thank you - less pain and the dizziness which I used to experience on a daily basis is a distant memory. Hope your neck and shoulder have settled a little.

Barbara, I will have to google 'slanket' - sounds just what I could do with.

I see you have all been busy with your xmas shopping or giving it some thought - I'm not so well organised  Better start soon though or it will be over :). Elizabeth, bet you have to put your thinking cap on with 5 children and them all being different ages?

The sun is with us today and so I'm off for a little walk - no stick now :)

Take care all and love to those not mentioned :)

You know Toni I really disagree with people having their whole future career messed up at the age of 15/16. It is too young to know exactly what you want in life and to realise how one path will take you in the right direction. Is there another route she could take? Its such a shame and I bet she was heartbroken.

Suddenly we are confronted with having to pick up his science marks quickly. He will also need a B in maths to go into computing. There won't be any choices left at this rate! And whats the point of staying on at school to do subjects you are not as keen on.

Daughter messaged me to say she got a maintenance grant thingy through. What great timing that was so she will be okay until payday. She is very lucky to get another job so quickly. So she had 3 jobs, then 2, then 1 and now back up to 2.

Catie I had all 3 of my laptops repaired because I hated the thought of buying a new one with windows 8. You can still get them with windows 7 on. Just google and check carefully.

It is difficult to buy for the 2 boys Catie. The eldest 2 (both girls)get cheques although 1 asked for a patchwork quilt one year so I got one made for her and she loved it.Last year we got a wiiu-what a waste of money that was!

Applerose tell your Son to look at the new moto G phone-around £150 and very good spec or a huawei 300- around £100, instead of an overpriced Apple phone. That's what I'm looking at for great value for money but just waiting for the right deal. The Nexus 5 is £300 and just as good as an Apple. I want one but really don't eed to spend £300 on a phone! My Daughter has a 5th generation i pod touch, which she uses most of the time and kids like the latest spec. Each year they bring out new features and upgrades (hence no.5). There's probably nothing wrong with their current i pods.

Hi Barbara glad the painting is going well. I took ages finding the right pale blue for my boys room. Bought lots of testers and they were all too dark then tried CABBAGE WHITE (Farrow and ball) and it was blue! Perfect.
Gaming chairs, they are very low down to the ground. I could never use one. I always think they take up too much space. But if nice to buy something they want.

My Son had an early dental appt. We were late because the traffic is just a nightmare. Every way we turned was chockka.

I just could not move yesterday evening and couldn't face going down those stairs so Lu went and got Dan for me. He had been surprisingly good.

Karen I hope she had fun with the animals but sounds like she'll need serious results to become a vet.

    Anyone seen Coco lately?
Time to have that warming coffee,
    Elizabeth

    Elizabeth you are right!!

It is unfair they have to make decisions about their futures so young l totally agree.

I am pleased to hear your daughter's maintenance loan came through in time....phew1 :)

Charley is doing teaching now - she is good with children, but it's a shame. My stepdaughter had wanted to be a vet, but decided on animal behaviour instead. Sad lessons learnt I suppose :(

    Morning Barbara :)

Hope you can find a good phone for middle GD - some excellent tips there from Elizabeth.

Up at 7 eh? Tisn't much fun is it?

Think I'll have something on the grill please what about some eggy bread??

Ooh catie if you have been a good girl maybe Santa will treat you. You better specify in your letter ;) windows 7 ;)

Good to hear you have so much less pain and dizziness - and no stick!!! Brilliant :)

Have you heard from MrO lately?

    Christine

well-done for painting :) I need to do some, but it's hard work now isn't it? Will have to bribe one of the kids ;)

Those gaming chairs are expensive and I think quite bad for your back so no trying it out yourself!!

Hope everyone else is well today

We don't seem to have room for a tree this year, not unless we move the sofa back in front of the radiator but it blocks all the heat. maybe it will be okay for a c,ouple of weeks,

How did I manage to get christine and Barbara muddled up with the painting?

its only I have been researching mobiles lately-its fresh in my head. the moto G is selling out very quickly at t*sc*, they keep running out of stock and you need to get an unlocking code (an additional cost) if you don't want to use their own mobile service.

Which daughter is at uni Toni? Now one is doing hairdressing and one has a Christmas job but I'm getting muddled who is doing what.

Fish n chip night tonight (well i'm having a pie).

had my hair coloured today. I'm very pleased actually.I only have to pop over the road but I was a bit dizzy crossing over though. It must be all those painkillers.

Take care. hoping the Roses pop in too. It will be a Shame if catie's laptop gives up the ghost before Santa gets her a new one.

Until I get more Humira into the system (I'm waiting for my delivery today) I'm going to have to rely on the pain killers in order to get through the day and night I think. At least they work. :D Dizziness is just the payback. There's always a payback isn't there?

That helped a lot Toni. C is doing a teaching course at Uni. L is the hairdresser and T is doing A levels. Did she go to stay with Cris for work experience? You can't get a better place to do your W.E really can you?
I'm glad they all seem to be doing well. Is L still at school and doing hairdressing in her spare time?

I read your post Barbara as YOU were drinking wine now after going Christmas shopping! I will probably get some clothes for the children too Barbara. I'll get Daniel that 'cat's musical T-shirt' and maybe something to chew on to stop him eating tin cans. I'd love to get the 2 grown-up Daughters some clothes but I daren't.They both need money so badly. Its one Daughters birthday soon too so she gets double helpings this time of year.

Toni I can't do the painting anymore and OH got paint on the carpet and has left a wiggly line on one wall. As you know I had to put an orange feature wall. The colour is lovely but I'm not sure about it in a bedroom but I bought some pictures ith orange and blue in them to tie it together,

Right off for a little while,
    I'll be back

    Hi Everyone,

I'm still here - just about :) Elizabeth thanks for telling me about Windows 7 still being available. Hubby had been to J Lewis and all computers were 8.1, but he's now looking at an internet company - so fingers crossed. My daughter's bf has taken a look at this computer and told me that there is a problem with the mother-board (goodness knows) and it's running at 3 out of 10 (that's why it crashes every few mins). It's 7 yrs old and well used.

Toni, I hear from MrO regularly as like Andrew he's mad about cricket - so a quick chat with me and then the serious stuff with hubby :) , He sends his best wishes to all at the cafe and thanks you all for yours :). Today is the day of the Move and then it's goodbye to Mr Meldrew (the chap buying his house) who has been a nightmare. Two of MrO's sons are helping today, so that will be a big help.

I feel for all the youngsters today as the job situation is so very difficult. Our daughter made the decision to study music and knowing how difficult it is to succeed in that area, I was concerned about what would happen. Fortunately, she was one of the lucky ones and has made a living through composing and arranging music. Many of her friends are unemployed or doing several part time jobs.

Barbara, what with little kitty and a baby, xmas at yours is going to be lively :) - but I know you will love it. We are going to my sisters and it's the first time I have not cooked xmas dinner in 37 years :o  .

Love to Karen, Christine, Coco, Mig and all other cafe friends :)

my humira didn't arrive How bad is that? I've had to email them so will have to wait and see if another delivery can be arranged. I do need it and was looking forward to taking it today.

catie I have even read about people uninstalling windows 8 or 8.1 and reinstalling windows 7 on their new computers!

Mr Meldrews money is as good as any other-Mr O will soon be moving on.

I'd love a house full on Christmas day. I'm hoping the girls will come and stay. We have such a laugh as we all like playing board and paper games.I haven't got anywhere for them to sleep though!!!!It will be the Oh up in the attic and a child back with me.

    Evening all

Hope you all have had a goodish day.

Elizabeth, has your Humira arrived???. We are lucky when it comes to computers , ipods and things like that our two luckily except they can't have the more expensive things. Elizabeth, I told Hayley about your daughter and going to Japan....boy, was she jealous. :) I'm sure once we get her sorted out she will get there at some point.

Catie, will you give my regards to Mr. O on his move. And hope all goes smoothly for him and his wife.

I do remember seeing posts about onsies. I have on. And I love it. But when you need the loo it is a bit of a problem. Us three girls at home have ours on. Tried persuading Tony, but he wont have it. Spoil sport.

I am now dreading it when my physio appointment comes up, it really hurts and is very painful for days after. Is that the way it works ??. This time he had to sit me down with some water, I thought I was going to pass out. Thank goodness Tony brings me home.

    Have a good evening everyone.

The humira didn't arrive. I had an injection 2 weeks ago but it was the last of the delivery and the 1st i'd had after a long break due to coughs and colds. I was just getting the humira back into the system to dampen down the worst pain so another break is not good.

Karen I don't know if it should hurt so much but I know my physiotherapist stopped when I hurt and left me to lie down with hot towels on all the painful bits. It does sound like an ordeal for you and hope you have a better time this time.

my Daughter didn't go to Japan in the end. She got a place in the uni she wanted nearTokyo but then panicked about the cost and giving up her radio show, uni rep duties and her 3 jobs. She felt she might come back to nothing. she's changed to linguistics/ Japanese now.
We cannot live without computers Karen but the rest is just extra's. I'm not keen on spending on phones either. i've become much more frugal lately.

Hope you've left some clotted cream for me Toni. I can feel my waist band expanding just looking at it.

    lie in tomorrow!

    hooray

Hi everyone, hugs all round to one and all, it has been too long since I was here in the cafe. I did try and read back, but I ended up in a total muddle, so I will pick up from here.
I spy mince pies, believe it or not I don't like them, so I have made a malteser cake, which is enormous and ready for eating. I also have 2 dozen spoons, collected in my absence, help yourselves.
I don't think I have the oomph to clean and fuss tonight, but I will do my share of pottering.
Don't ask me to go up high to fix the decorations, I go squiffy looking out of the window.
I will have a cup of T while I am here and say hi to Cuddles. xx Bubbles
