Get her a 'cheese chase' Great game and occupies kitties and catties like Daisycat. Probably neighbour's cat too

Yes of course my step is my daughter. Actually I like the French word for it? 'Belle-fille' Sounds nice eh?

I have managed to get in. Barbara, reading through I thought you had a new kitten, then read on and realised that wasn't the case.

Christine, I will have to find out about this nightmare you. Doesn't sound good.

Elizabeth, good to see you. Hope things are going well at the moment for you.

Toni, good to see you, hope you are okish. Have you got a place in France yet, or have I missed that one.

To Coco,Catie and Mr.O, hope you are okish at the moment.

Barbara, I can't blame the meds as I'm not on any so no idea what it was about. Very weird dreaming that you're dreaming. It sounds as if the kitten is slowly moving in with you. Hope the other cat keeps his tail out of the way. That bug is dreadful, isn't it? Hope you don't come down with it.

Elizabeth, I was rather scared at first. Strangely, I was ok when I woke up. Even had a giggle as it was so silly. I'm glad you managed to get to the meeting but not that you had to pay the price. Happy new hairdo. Hope the headache didn't last long.

Good to see you back Karen. Sorry the injection didn't work for you. Are they going to try something else for your shoulder? Think I'll join you for a hot chocolate before bed. it's lovely and cosy by the fire. Hope I don't fall asleep there.

I finished work at lunch time so got the train to one of the bigger towns to do a bit of Xmas shopping. When I was about finished, I suddenly realised I couldn't remember how to get back to the railway station. I've been there many times but my mind just went blank. Thank goodness it was only for a couple of minutes.

That does sound lovely Toni - belle-fille. Hope your daughter enjoys the tills. Good opportunity to meet people and chat a bit. Hope she is allowed to chat, just a little. it does make shopping more pleasant.

    Morning Everyone :)

I'm in a state of shock  . Just been into M&S for a few bits and pieces and there was a lady ordering a Four-Bird Roast for xmas at a cost of £120  Couldn't believe that price to be honest.

Karen, lovely to see you back again. I sympathise with the neck and shoulder - the pain can be excrutiating I know. Hope it settles for you.

Toni, your French is coming along a treat. When I hear about your classes, I do feel a kind of urge to find one myself...but then I'm overcome by laziness

Elizabeth, I think you are right about the job centre - think they will be in for a shock. Lots of them are over 50, so the chance of them finding work will be pretty slim I think.

Christine, hope you don't have any more dreams like that one. I rarely dream, but had a terrible experience coming round from an anaesthetic. I could hear a nurse saying 'wake up Geoffery, wake up. Come on, time to wake up' to someone in the next bay. It was said over and over again. I then was convinced I was dead being convinced that Geoffrey was actually Geoffery Hamilton from 'Gardener's World (donkey years ago). Knowing he was dead, I thought I was in heaven and kept telling everyone I was
I remember a doctor coming over and telling the nurse not to give me anymore morphine :lol:

Barbara, I think it's so kind of you to look after little kitty :)

Lots to do, so will see you all later.

Love to anyone not mentioned :)

I'm still paying the price for the 6th form meeting but it needed to be done otherwise J wouldn't have a clue what subjects to pick. We are still 1 subject short, possibly 2 if his science marks do not pick up. Then he would have to choose a BTEC which is worth 2 subjects.

She's started already Toni, how exciting. I don't think it is us Toni just kids do not like to be told even if they know deep down we are right

I'm always getting headaches now Applerose. They always start in the night which can make mornings a bit iffy. I'm on co-dydramol for the pain and they are paracetamol based but they do not work as well for headaches as my old normal paracetamol tabs for some reason.
I have't started Xmas shopping yet. However I've been 'looking around'. I'm not buying adult presents this year, OH is taking and paying for all that this year as its only his family anyway and I'm keeping out after a few issues.

Hi Karen. Have you started Xmas shopping yet? I do all mine online and send money to the majority so they can buy what they want.

OH is chattig to me while cooking so I'm struggling to concetrate so will sign off for no,

Take care all, keep warm the weather is suppose to be getting warmer over the weekend. Our bills go up this weekend.

Hello there Catie. I asked OH to sort out the meat one year and he came back with an order for £250!!!!! And we couldn't eat it all so much of it was thrown away. I hate waste so we are much more frugal nowadays. I have my £50 m&s vouchers and also nectar points to help out this year.

If you write to Mr O send him my regards and hope is house moving is going well.

    Morning all

Well, I woke this morning absolutely freezing. The girls slept down stairs last night. Hayley told Kim to turn the heating down. And she did ...she turned it off. And they had the ceiling fan on. It has taken a hot bath and Tony putting a mini heater for me to warm up. They're sleeping up stairs tonight, that's definite.

When I started this there was only Barbara on....I'm so slow at the mo that I see both Elizabeth and Catie have been on.

Elizabeth, sorry about your headaches, they are a pain to get rid of aren't they.

Catie, I notice you mentioned about forgetting where the station had gone. I do that all the time. I annoy myself all the time when I do it.
That was one horrible dream Catie. Dont they say that they are normally because you have something on your mind.

Right, I'm off, washing and stuff to do. Yuck.

    Have a good afternoon all.

We will leave food until a bit nearer the time. I'm starting to worry now and it is only November!

    Well hello Café friends :D

Lovely and busy in here today.

Catie if you lived near me you could have come along too. Roses1 lives less than 2m from me and Janie68 11 miles. I ought to have suggested they join me. It helps not to go alone I think. Every week I think about not going....it's so late and I am so tired

I love doing it though so will keep going. Please do pass on my best too to MrO.

How MUCH???!! HOW MUCH!!!!!!!!!!! That is ludicrous, but Elizabeth's story about her OH's shopping is even worse! Blimey!

Elizabeth you will do fine this year with your vouchers and nectar points too :) I have mine ready as well. I hoard points too. Double points on eb*y this weekend.

We had that issue with 6th form for Charley and Tia. Charley wasn't allowed to do Biology as she got a 'c' and Tia had to do physics...which she failed :(

    Keep warm yourself please.

Karen you poor thing!!! You must have been FREEZING. I totally agree with you they can't sleep downstairs again for a long while :( Bless Tony for putting the heater on for you :)

I am sure your online shopping will come alright and be perfect.

    Hi Barbara :)

I haven't asked lately how is the hip doing - recovered yet from the set-back?

Terrible story about a cooked turkey which was really dry :(

Good to hear the baby is so much better, but I feel for the remaining poorly Grandaughter :( Let's hope its 'no-one' next eh?

Love to everyone those I have missed so sorry

Yes, Barbara, I think that everyone has a lot on their minds just now so probably that with my dream. I asked for the time off in between Xmas and New year a couple of times a while back. Last year I was told I wouldn't be needed at that time so to keep some of my holiday entitlement for then. I work 4 days a week but my boss tried to tell me I needed to put in 5 days holiday. I soon put him right. I don't mind him saying I have to be off as my daughter and the grandkids are coming on 27th for a few days. :D Feed the birds? For some reason, I keep forgetting about them. I stopped feeding them last year as a cat kept hiding in the garden waiting for them. Must try again though. I cook my turkey covered in butter mixed with honey. It comes out black (but not burned) but very moist and tender. Hope your GD feels better by tomorrow.

Catie, £120? Aren't they about £10 in Ald*? Unless it's things like ostrich. Your dream must have been very scarey. Isn't it strange what our brains make us think at times?

Elizabeth, hope J gets to do the subjects he wants to. It is difficult working your way through it all. Do you have to take the co-dydramol or could you just take the paracetamol if they work better? I've done quite a bit of shopping online, both last year and this. Much easier than trying to get through the crowds. I don't think men realise that they don't need to buy piles and piles of food, only what is needed.

Karen, my goodness. No wonder you were freezing. How lovely of Tony to get you warmed up again. it was me who forgot where the station was. I'm the same. By the time I have read all the posts, I forget who said what. Guess the washing has to be done. Hope it went quickly.

Toni, I have used some points but still have some to use. Makes all the difference, doesn't it? Don't think I could do an evening class now. Way too tired after work.

Hope everyone is having a goodish weekend.

I know someone who had that 3 bird roast from al*I last year and said it was lovely :)

It is really hard work going to the evening class now. 7 till 9 and I sometimes have to wake myself up!!

Toni, I do get all the bank holidays off but they come off the total number of yearly holidays. When it was the Queen's Jubilee, I had the Friday and Monday off but no actual extra days. Yes, I am looking forward to having the GC here. I've been to my DIL's mum's for Sunday lunch when she's done the 3 bird roast. It is good. You've got the cafe all spick and span again I see. Always busy.

I think it is a good idea to support our local shops Elizabeth but we have to think of our purses too. Glad your daughter has managed to get another job. Hope she manages with her food. Sorry you didn't have much time to chat. It is difficult having to share.

Not to worry Barbara. There are times I forget whether I've been on or not. You are right Barbara, I do need to keep them right. They definitely can't manage without me and, if they got someone else, I'm sure they would have to pay more. Glad your GD is better. Well done getting around the house with the duster. I didn't do any housework today apart from washing the dishes. I did get to Ald* and bought a couple of bits of food for Xmas though.

I've been looking for a toy tool kit for my 2 year old GS. Arg*s have the perfect one but none in stock. The other shops only have them for older children. It's my older GS's 10th birthday on Thursday. He wants money towards some things for his play station so that's easy. He and his sister want money for Xmas too but I need to get them a few bits to open too. I've got the 2 youngest girls everything now. I think. How is everyone else getting on with their Xmas shopping?

    Morning all

I seem to be the first here, wow, that's a big change for me. I will put the kettle on and the grill for anyone who wishes something to eat.

I still have not read right back, so I think I shall just have to do some guess work.

My youngest has gone to an animal sanctury today, she is doing the Princes Trust thing. She loves animals so much. I do wonder whether she will go into something to do with animals.

Elizabeth, I am glad your daughter got her 3rd job. And I can remember when I lived away from home, got payed monthly and by the last two weeks would be on biscuits, bread and baked beans. (but I loved it)

Barbara, I have not even asked you how your new hip is doing, I hope things are going well for you.

I am going to sit in the corner and get myself into the right frame of mind to get going and do some housework etc.

Have a good day everyone in what ever you are up too.

Sorry I never got back online. We have all 3 laptops working now but I had to sit with Dan and continue with his BBC idents for several hours. I had the paper to keep me company.

Not started Xmas shopping but that is because my card is maxed after paying my Daughters uni fees and I need to clear it before I can start spending again, which will be early Dec. That's why she didn't like to ask for any help (She's in Newcastle so too far to pop food round Toni). Anyway they all prefer money so I can send cheques okay but I like to buy for my younger 3.
Yep so please she got another job to help her get through her final uni year. She should be in Japan now but changed course otherwise it would have been another year to pay after this one.

I have my eye on phones and tablets for Christmas. My Daughter is 10 same age as your Grandson Applerose and she loves her gaming. He won't have the new playstation will he? Its only just been realeased.

I take the co-dyramolfor R.A pain but a headache is extra so I can't take ordinary paracetamol like I used too as I'd O.D.

Ha! I mentioned the K word in a post but luckily the n didn't print out (keyboard is a bit iffy) and it didn't get checked. Mods be careful as this could be one way round for the spammers. I've see the K spam posting on other well known sites.

It was double nectar points on E bay at the weekend Barbara. You have to register your card though. I did't get to shop.

Oh Toni you see. isn't it a disapppointment..he is great at biology but not so good at the others and they are dragging him down. The biology course is meant to be difficult though. I really hope he can pick up those marks.

    Hugs to Catie too.
