Oh Rose, wonderful idea about the Christmas cake. And a party is a brilliant idea Toni. Better start getting a food and drinks list together. And should we do a secret santa?

I saw the Poppy Girls too Toni. Went through some more tissues when the girl's dad walked in. Thanks for leaving some here. Think I might need some more.

Sounds as if you are going to be very busy Mig. Think I'll have a bowl of your potato and leek soup if there's any left. Sounds delicious. I've had a couple of posts held up as I keep forgetting about the 'k' word. I noticed you didn't use it though. Wonder why that got stopped. At least they are looking in to it.

Glad to help Barbara. They've got some really lovely pjs in. Took me quite a while wandering round and round to make a choice. I got gift receipts for them that last till January too. Hope your bloods went ok. Did you get out?

That would be good wouldn't it Catie if more members popped in here. Oh your poor neighbour. Hope he's ok.

We've had fighter jets flying over here for the last few nights on training flights. They are very loud. The airport isn't too far away. I can watch the planes as they come in to land and take off from my back bedroom window.

Glad you got your pjs Barbara. That's handy being able to park right outside.

The petition - well there is a lot of arguing going on at the moment. The petition I was helping with was supposed to get the council to check up on what was going on with them forcing through all the house building. The council have turned it round and said we were asking for the government to check themselves rather than the council. Turns out our MP has been telling us he's supporting us but not telling the government that he is supporting us. Every housing application has been refused then agreed on appeal with all the planning officers suddenly changing their minds. We found out that the councillors had got a solicitor to write to all the planning officers telling them that they had to pass all the housing. Another application appeal was passed yesterday and the secretary of state has said they have not to pass it till he has a look at it. There's so much going on I can't keep up with it.

I don't think I've ever had a pickled egg before, Mig. Guess I really should try one. Pot noodle? I don't always feel like cooking. Don't like pot noodles but usually find something quick to eat on those days.

Forgot about your machiattos Toni. Think I'll have one before bed.

I didn't have the heating on last night so thought the bed might be like an ice cube so decided to take 2 hot water bottles to bed. Ran the hot water till it ran hot, switched it off a second till I picked up the bottle. Filled the bottles with water and realised they felt cold. I'd only filled both bottles with water from the cold tap.

Christine I always miss you sorry...think I am getting ready for bed when you get on.... :o honestly the council will blame the government and visa versa...but I dint trust council..we found out ours got a massive payout from a supermarket...we now have 5 in and bordering our small town....our main st is dying .Oh nearly forgot who was it that said an hairdryer on the sheets in an emergency..
Mig you make me laugh..bless ...you deserve the pot noodle...what are you having today I wonder
I am having my hair cut at 10..only have to go across the way she come to a neighbours house..it is freezing here this morning..keep warm all xxxxxxx

Its Aberdeen Angus beefburgers for tea there will be mash potatoes and cauliflower cheese for him and broccoli for me.Dont like all the stalk on broccoli so I chop it up with a potato ,onion and celery if I got it in and a stock cube (veg or chicken one) cook it then blend it makes nice soup. Morning Everyone :)

Barbara, glad you managed a better sleep as it will really help you. My sister came for a visit yesterday and brought a couple of pillows for me to try....they are heaven and so I enjoyed a better sleep too. Am I grateful to her :)

Toni, you are always such a busy bee and the cafe looks great yet again  . MrO hasn't forgotton everyone and sends his best wishes to all :) He has exchanged contracts on his new house and moving in at the end of the month. He's also completed on his buy-to-let, so all is going well for him :)

Those people in the caravan have GONE - thank goodness. It was really odd as my hubby noticed a car outside our house for several days and in the end asked the guy what he was doing :o . He said he was working in the area and if hubby was concerned to call the police with his car reg. So we did just that and the police said that 'yes' they were aware of the car being there, but couldn't tell us why :?. All very odd, and then the people in the caravan do a moonlight flit :o Mmmm :)

Hope Karen, Cocoa, Elizabeth and all cafe friends are ok. Love to you all :)

Barbara - you must have needed that sleep I am pleased for you :) I was woken at 4.15 am by the eldest - relationship issues again  cor this teenage business is MUCH harder than the baby bit isn't it?

I reckon I might like some Austrian boots

Sorry I keep missing you Barbara. I usually come here just before bed so I think you've been and gone. Austrian army boots? These young ones are always looking for something different. Hope you manage to find your GD's size. Yes you must have needed that sleep. Hope you feel better for it.

Toni, although I enjoy the caramel matchiato, I'm loving gingerbread frappacinos at the moment. Hot coffee makes me feel a bit ill but I love chilled ones. And making the most of the Xmas flavours at the moment. Hope your daughter is ok. It's awful to see them going through that but guess it's all part of life. My eldest GD is nearly 12 so won't be that long before it's her turn. Hmmm, sausage curry? Interesting.

Catie glad you like your new pillows. I'm always buying pillows but never seem to find them comfortable for more than a few weeks. Glad Mr O is doing well with his houses. Bet he's glad they'll be in for Xmas. Good news that the caravan has gone. Wonder if the car had anything to do with it.

I love Scotch pie Mig although they taste much better in Scotland than they do in England.

I usually have curry on Saturdays but was a bit naughty and had fish and chips for the second Saturday running. Made me feel a bit better as it said on the box that there were only about 650 calories.

I left my dad's a bit early yesterday so went in to town and found a few things for one GD in B**ts. I had points to use and there was a 3 for 2 offer on. Didn't think I could use both points and the offer and didn't think I had enough points for what I wanted. Anyway, I took the toys to the checkout. The girl said I could still take advantage of the 3 for 2 and that I had enough points so I got £52 worth for nothing. Now that's what I call a bargain. :D

While at my dad's, my sister got a call from her partner. She rushed next door (where she lives). Apparently her 4 year old GS had earlier decided he wanted a bath and had put the plug in, emptied a full bottle of r*d*x in and turned the taps on full. My sister didn't know and had brought him in to dad's. So a couple of hours later, the kitchen and living room were flooded. The water was running down the walls and through the light fittings. An electrician came straight out and confirmed it was ok for them to use the electrics so they had heating etc. Carpets, some furniture and some toys were ruined. They're hoping the insurance will get that sorted before Xmas.

Hope everyone who hasn't been in is doing ok. Maybe busy with Xmas shopping.

Sorry been busy. D. is very demanding so I'm having to spend a lot of time with him. he's showing me all the BBC idents since the year dot but it keeps him happy. I sometimes sneak a newspaper so I can read something at the same time and I took out 3 library books. Unfortunatley D. has damaged a couple in the past by stabbing/cutting or ripping the covers and ripping out the tickets inside but so far the library haven't told me off.

My other boy is being very difficult with his exams. He's addicted to the computer and I'm worried for him. I've told him to at least study for 10 mins every hour without looking at his comp.games as he is heavily distracted. That way he knows he can soon stop but he gets something useful done. I feel he is overloaded and overwhelmed by it all so he is burying his head in the sand. The school have suddenly started giving him 1-2-1 and small group attention at last as they have now realised he is struggling.

Hi Barbara. Glad you found the Austrian army boots on eb8y. you know my brother probably sells these. I would've asked if i'd been able to get online sooner.

I also collect points when I can. boots do some good deals, cheapest item free etc. I've saved over £50 m&S vouchers. I like free stuff :D .

Sorry to read about the bath incident. Easily done.

Glad Mr O's house move is going wel and he is okay.

I finally took my humira last week and today was the first day I didn't need painkillers when I woke up so I hope to have a good day.

My boy was out cutting the leaves off the trees with scissors bless him.We did try and explain that one shake and they all fall off but he insisted on carrying on.

Well I hope you all have a good day,
    Elizabeth
