    Afternoon Everyone :)

Barbara, it's really murky here as well, but not cold. Think tomorrow it will be quite different - much colder.
I've never tried Dune#m for pillows - will take a look. The pillows my sister bought came from Deben#ams & they were really cheap. Christine, I know exactly what you mean about pillows feeling comfy for short periods of time - bloomin nuisance :)

Toni, I sympathise with the 'relationship' issues. I think my hubby is white because of the problems our daughter has had. I thought she had found 'Mr Right', but recently I found her crying for the lad who had two-timed her time and time again. I just pray he doesn't come knocking at the door 'again'. Meanwhile the guy she is dating is besotted with her and just booked a break to New York for xmas shopping. The joy of being a parent lol :)

Mig, what's on the Menu - think we could all do with some 'comfort food' :)

Elizabeth, you cope so well with everything, but like Barabara has already said, hope you're able to rest when the children are at school.

I'm waiting for Mr Bitish G#s to service our boiler. What a job I had trying to arrange an appointment. Decided not to renew our contract again. despite the fact that our boiler is on its last legs - bit like me really

    Take care everyone,

Elizabeth I am so pleased you were able to take your humira and are feeling the benefits I really hope it lasts for you :)

Kids are hard aren't they? Glad you can read a bit so you are not too bored by yours son's 'interests' you are so good an patient. As for your other lad - you are doing well with him too it's all you can do and god that school are now helping as well.

I hope you enjoy spending that £50 vouchers. I save t'sco and Sai*sbury and b**ts too. You actually DO feel rewarded don't you?

Barbara Yes I DO have to keep my opinions to my self with the eldest, but she sooo wants to be loved and in love bless her - I just don't want to see her hurt :(

(wish your hubby was nearer here I would snatch his hand off if he serviced our boiler for me!!)

Catie - we have the same service contract as you have and I haven't organised this years as they turned up two days early when I was out and my step let them in. I wasn't happy as I have teenage girls in the house :(

Why DO kids hanker after the bad 'uns??? I hope yours sees sense I reckon the new one sounds a sweetie. I have a very good friend whose daughter has got involved with....of all things....a dealer  She is devastated - a nice family

My pillows are made of memory foam and are dipped in the middle for your head to go in. £19.99 is the cheapest I've seen them.

I hope I haven't missed anyone and that our absent friends are all doing well

    Love

Barbara, my dad is doing ok, thank you. Talks all the time about his time in the navy and about his friends from there he hasn't seen since he left 50 years ago. I think my sister realises I know something's not right and she has started sorting his finances out for him now. Can I book your husband to put in a new boiler for me please before mine finally gives up?

Toni, I hope things work out well for your daughter with her bf. Your poor friend. She must be so worried for her daughter. Hopefully, she'll realise herself soon. I've tried those memory foam pillows before but found they didn't spring back after a while so it was comfortable lying on one side but not the other.

Elizabeth, glad you get to read the paper or a book. I'm sure the library will understand the damage. it's good that the school are finally helping your other son. Maybe he'll now do better than you thought. And you have taken your humira. Glad you didn't need the painkillers. Hope you did have a good day. Bless your son cutting the leaves off. At least it speeds things up for the trees.

Catie, it is such a shame when they want the wrong ones. More so when the nice ones want them. Hope things go well for her and the guy she is dating at the moment. My boiler has been on it's last legs for a few years now. I've got my fingers and toes crossed that it lasts another winter.

Been to the dentist today for a check-up. She decided to give my teeth a quick clean. I've got a tooth which is crossed over another one and plaque builds up there as I can't get at it. Well she cleaned that bit very well. Nearly hit the roof and had toothache all afternoon. My gum is really sore now. She said she was being cruel to be kind.

Went upstairs yesterday afternoon to have a look at something in the little bedroom and ended up moving the furniture over and painting the wall. Guess I'll need to finish it now. At least it will look better for my GS. My daughter is hoping to come over in between Xmas and New Year for a few days. :D

    Good Morning Everyone :)

Wall to wall sunshine here, but much colder. Christine, I think we had both better keep our fingers crossed that the boilers keep going  Hope your mouth is feeling easier today.

Barbara, how kind of your hubby to keep a check on that lady. Wish he was able to look after our boiler :) The chap from British Ga# arrived at 5.30 :o and wasn't a happy bunny. I asked him what the chirruping sound coming from the boiler was . He said he couldn't hear a thing. The inference was that I must be as mad as a box of frogs

Toni, that was bad of BG. Sorry to hear about your friend's daughter - what a terrible worry that must be. I wish my daughter could forget all about D, but easier said than done :( .

Elizabeth, I was wondering whether your son might benefit from a 'befriender'. There's a lady who lives close by and she has a son with similar problems. A lad a few years older has befriended him (through a charity) and it works well as they are both keen on computers. The lady says that her family has benefitted so much. Just a thought and I hope you don't mind me mentioning it :)

Well, I had better press on. See you all later :)

That's really lovely of you hubby to keep an eye on his customers like that Barbara. The lady who keeps phoning up reminds me of an old lady who kept phoning me asking to speak to her daughter. She was dialling one wrong number. I finally got the right number off her so every time she phoned me, I phoned her daughter to let her know. This went on for months but haven't heard from her in a long while. Four things ironed? That's better than none. I always think a bit at a time still gets you there.

Catie, wonder what was wrong with Mr Br*t*sh G*s. Hope your boiler is ok.

My gum is still a bit sore today but getting better. Some good news. My son has just phoned. He has only had the odd day acting as a supply teacher over the last 7 months after his business partner collapsed the business leaving him high and dry. His friend works for quite a big company and managed to get him 2 days work there a few weeks ago. He called my son tonight and told him he wants to make him the office manager. He is going to talk about it tomorrow. It might still only be 3 days to start with but he will be able to create more work for himself.

Good afternoon. I have had a couple of very good days (don't tell the dwp incase they ask for 50p back). To top it all my Son went to bed at a reasonable time and revised for his English exam (friday)!

Applerose I'm very please for your Son. Its a great opportunity. One of my Daughters has lost 2 jobs in the past few weeks so she only has one paid job left. The other job had given her the Summer off to work for the university she attends and she had just managed to sort out free days so she could return to her previous duties when she got the letter to say goodbye

Catie thank you ad of course I don't mid you mentioning it. My Son seems to dislike anyone but me. I get some money for respite but it is difficult to spend it as there are very few clubs to attend and those that do exist are just computer clubs and he can do that at home for free. Having said that Wednesday is after school club day so I get online more often and can catch up on i player too (I'm currently catching up on the cold war programme but not taking it in).

Toni so sorry I missed the story about your Daughter. Did he hop off to Devon without inviting her? Relatioships are tough when you are young (we are much more forgiving when we get older).Talking about £50 vouchers I also had 2x£10 vouchers from The Wh*** Co. but only just realised they have expired! I have problems with my eyes at the moment and cannot read small print and by the end of the day the Big print too so missed the cut off date. I'm cross because I usually buy their pyjamas for Lucy.

Hope the Austrian boots have arrived Barbara/
    .
Hugs to Coco, Karen,Mr O and the Roses. Hope I have't missed anyone!!

    Hi Everyone :)

What a day it has been. This morning my hubby was told that there would be a meeting at 12 with an important announcement. To cut a long story short, 80 people have been told that their job will finish at the end of April. Andrew was one of the lucky ones, but feels so sorry for those who have lost their jobs. Sadly, no job seems to be safe these days :(

Christine, I'm delighted for your son. What a relief for you all. Glad your gum is feeling a little better. I think Mr British Ga# was just one heck of a grumpy guy :D

Elizabeth, so pleased you've had a few good days and I wish you many more :). I'm glad the Wednesday club gives you a little respite :)

Barbara, I hope your pain settles soon. Have you any idea when your next op will be ?

Toni, I think MrO (much to MrsO's dismay) is planning a 'house warming' party. He certainly has a lot of 'get up and go' :). Perhaps we should all gate-crash it

Karen, if you are looking in, hope things are improving for you :)

    Love to 'all' cafe dwellers

I was absolutley shattered yesterday evening so went to bed after struggling to keep up with everything. Lucy wanted me to help with her H/W but I was too tired and postponed it until this morning. Now she does not like my avice but IMO The teachers are far too soft on them, she'll probablyget a house point whereas I think she should make more effort. Honestly she doesn't even sharpen her pencil  I hope she will take on board what I say.

Congrats on your step-daughter getting a Christmas job Toni. That's great news. And Catie so please your Hubby kept his job but it will be awful for those losing theirs. They will have a shock at the job centre I can tell you!

We have a 6th form meeting tonight but looks like I will have to stay at home and babysit as usual as OH just refuses to ask his Mum to pop over for a few hours yet I have had the Grandchild recently(she normally looks after full time) to give her a break. I'm going to have to be tough and say no. I was unable to go to Mother's day meal but still got asked if he could bring the other Grandchild home to play with ours. Not one person thought if I was unwell then I didn't need more little uns to look after!

Sorry I'm moaning but it does get me down.

Yes the Roses is very apt Toni. Hoping they are both managing okay and will pop in soon.

I need to go and have my nap now....

So sorry I am late on - busy day today and off to French class later too

Thanks Elizabeth I have told my step-daughter congrats from you :)

Your Lucy sounds like MY Lucy - she will NOT be helped at all. I am obviously WRONG all the time. At least she does get her bag packed for school which the others never did  I hope she gets an ok mark.

I am so sorry you are missing the 6th form meeting - that's just not fair :( I agree with Barbara you should ask yourself given that you help them out.

I hope Barbara that kittycat has behaved today??

Mixed grills are always nice mig. Can I have veggie please :) I will warm it up when I get back from my lesson ;)

Catie - I found myself holding my breath incase Andrew was being let go  SUCH a HUGE relief!!

Homework done I think - my own ;)

Barbara, glad they have given you an open appointment. I'll come along with you in your pocket when you're ready. No rush.

Great to hear you've had a good few days Elizabeth. Sounds as if your son realises he needs to knuckle down and get his revision done. How awful for your daughter though. Why do they always tell people they've lost their jobs just as Xmas is approaching? Hope she manages to find something else. Twice my daughter has sent me Am*z*n vouchers and I've forgotten about them until they had expired. I emailed them and they extended the date by another 6 months. Maybe you could try that with your vouchers.

Congratulations to your step daughter Toni.

Catie, you're another one worried by job losses. Bet it was a great relief to find your hubby kept his.

Doing this in 2 posts because I had a phonecall and thought I'd lose it.

Mig, mixed grill? Lovely. I haven't had one in ages.

Elizabeth, teenagers are all the same, aren't they? They know everything. I agree with the others, I think you should be able to go to the meeting. Don't worry about moaning. We all need to do it sometimes.

Hope I haven't missed anyone. Can't remember what I've already said with doing two posts.

The other night, I woke up and found there was a man sleeping in my bed. I lay really quiet, trying not to breath. He woke up and, as he grabbed me, I tumbled out of bed and landed with a big bump on the floor. Then I realised there was no man and I'd been fighting with the duvet. I threw it back on the bed and got in. When I woke up in the morning, I'd dreamt the whole thing.

I'm not sure I like your dream Applerose. You must have been terrified!

I did go to the 6th form meeting (OH agreed I'd get more sorted than him) and it was very productive and I helped my J make some decisions. I absolutely ached all evening/night and morning though!

I finally had my hair cut after months and months and it looks lovely but had to grab a hour deep sleep beforehand after all this extra exertion.

Toni yep she does pack her own bag and is much more organised than the boys but she thinks she knows it all! We clash all the time but I see a lot of me in her

How come you keep getting the kitten to look after Barbara? Doesn't it get confused? ...and the neighbours cat too. Your house sounds like a sanctuary for many.

I'm feeling lost at the moment so will take another rest I think. Starting to get yet another headache.

Speak soon and hope everything goes well for you all.

I hope you are all reasonably ok. Have not read back yet so don't know whats been going on.

I think I mention that had an injection in my shoulder, well didn't work. And started physio for my neck. last week he decided to do my shoulder and the pain. Had to cancel this weeks one. Haven't been able to use my arm properly just threw pain.

Anyway, I am hoping I am back now. Although, seem to have lost the ability to type. I'm sure it will come back to me.

I shall sit and have a cuppa by the window. And hopefully pop back in later.

Have a good day/afternoon in whatever you are up to.

How lovely to see you Karen. I'm sorry your shoulder is so painful and has been made worse. The only thing that ever helped mine was the Humira, I have hardly any issues now apart from when I roll on it at bedtime.

Have a cuppa and a quiet sit own,
