Barbara, hope you managed to get out yesterday and the ankle isn't bothering you too much. Glad your bee house has arrived. Your lights sound lovely. I'd like some in my garden but I don't sit out after dark and I always close the curtains so wouldn't see much of them. I think those roll out fences are a good idea if you don't want a full fence and so much cheaper. And they are quite pretty.

Elizabeth, hmmm, typical man. I just don't think they get it, do they? Glad he gave you a break though. Hope you put your feet up.

Toady, I've never been able to nap during the day unless I've been ill. Even then I usually feel worse for it. I haven't posted much in gardening as I haven't done anything yet but the bits I have mentioned have been in here. Your seedlings are looking good. You're probably right about not saying anything to the men coming in to your garden. As far as they're concerned, they've got a job to do. No need to think of others. Men again.

Toni, thank you. I wore my comfy shoes to get to the wedding but the others were ok as I got a lift most of the way there and all the way back so not much walking. Hope you are having a good weekend and Lucy enjoys having her boyfriend round.

The wedding went well. It was lovely. The groom started crying as soon as the bride arrived, then his dad started as they read their vows. Next 2 of the bridesmaids were set off. One of the registrars had to rush out for boxes of tissues. The bride and groom managed to say their words but kept forgetting them or getting them wrong so their were a lot of laughs. The pictures were taken in the grounds but in shade so we were all freezing but the bride and groom went to a local park to have some taken. The reception was in the local fitness centre/theatre as they both work in the theatre and were given the (can't remember what it's called) room where everyone goes for drinks in the break, for free. My sister and her friend decorated it and made a very good job of it. Didn't do any dancing. In fact only 2 people got up to dance with a couple of the children before I left. People don't seem to bother much with dancing these days till just before it's time to go home. Was the same at my brother's wedding. But it was a very good day.

Hello everybody :) not too foozled today  family words are excellent, and sayings; we have all sorts in ours like most.. stuff no-one else would 'get' (& some even I'm probably unsure where they're from or what they mean lol) :D

Bit of a dull day, so it's nice to come in for a hot drink.. and one of Barbara's GD's biscuits..

Thanks barbara & frog for taking an interest in my seeds :) , things are at that stage where something will be hopping up now every day (hopefully).. my sweet basil and a couple of the thai variety are up since I looked yesterday, only went in on the 1st. I had never come across asparagus peas either til last year when I saw them while looking at some other seeds. They produce an edible little pod, so we'll see. Hope you can get to some gardening Toni :) especially if we get some nice weather.. 203804d1390492324t-mini-garden-th_smiley-girl-garden.gif

Unfortunately I can't put up a twig fence as it's not the immediately-behind house, but the next one.. looking out this morning I could see the lady at her kitchen window clear as day; I never know if the angle means they can look up & see you upstairs if you are further back in, but either way it makes you want to duck down & creep out of your own rooms. Thanks for the suggestion anyway. :) Hope you sort your turf out.. I think I mentioned I know someone that has got artificial grass..

Glad all went well applerose :) and you had lifts etc all sorted, obviously an emotional day all round.. did the best man make it through his speech.. sorry it was cold for the pics though.. better than rain. :)

Managed to ring up a friend today.. bit of an effort (nothing personal to the friend) but I kept thinking she would call soon if I didn't, then you are left saying 'oh I was just going to' & I never know if anyone believes you. Something I've ticked off anyway so it won't be hanging over my conscience.

Joan I didn't realise the puppy was still as little as 15 weeks.. he must be gorgeous :) hope you have had a goodish day yourselves, bit chilly this evening so won't be far from the kettle if anyone calls in.. keep the ankle elevated barbara.. night all xx

    Good Morning everyone :)

Joan! Peppa is a lovely name for a puppy :D I'm presuming that he is a dachs again? I shall tell Cris when I text her later.

Barbara - you keep on resting that ankle and it will heal soon I hope. The space where the pond was.....if you don't walk over it a lot I think seed will do (you can get fast growing), but otherwise I know I would go for turf myself.
I hope your eldest GD is feeling more herself very soon. Teenagers are such a worry aren't they? :?
Looking forward to seeing your piccies ;)

Christine How lovely did that wedding sound!! The actual ceremony bit I mean :) Imagine the groom getting so emotional. I reckon they stand a good chance of going the distance :)

Glad your feet survived too

Toady I WILL get into my garden today and I will pot my seeds. Very late for me, but it's an odd year this year isn't it ;)

I love looking at other people's plants too so you've got me going again:)

c010.gif It's supposed to be nice today.

Well-done for clearing your conscience as far as contacting your friend. Reminded me one of mine needs a text today - thanks ;)

Right I'll just wash a few dishes.....

    a010.gif

    and

    mop the floor over

    love to you all

Joan, happy 15 week birthday to Peppa. Hope you are having a lovely weekend.

Barbara, your GD biscuits sound tasty.

Toady, I like made up words like that. The one I use quite often is intertwangled, a mixture of intertwined and tangled. If I'm trying to work out if anyone can see in, I bend down or move back until I can no longer see their area, then I know they can't see that bit. I did that with next door's trampoline so now there is a clear area in the kitchen and all the clutter has been moved further down, hopefully out of their sight. Yes, the best man did ok with his speech. He only tripped up once. Glad you got round to phoning your friend. There are a couple of friends I only phone now at Xmas but they never phone me. I think people are often too busy getting on with their immediate lives and phoning people will be done later.

Toni, it was lovely watching my niece and her husband (seems a bit strange still) together. They have known each other a long time and have been best friends. That showed on Friday, especially when they did the first dance. They never stopped talking to each other all through it then, as soon as it finished, they pushed each other away and went to sit with their separate friends. I think that showed they were both happy to be together and to be apart and with their friends. I think they'll be fine. Hope the weather stays fine for you so you get in to your garden.

Just catching up with Gardener's World. it's reminded me of all the things I should have done last month and didn't. Oops! :o

Toady its a shame you cant use the fence...saying that we haven't put ours up yet...hubby say he will glue it..cause its very light but I'm not so sure.. :? we have seen the artificial grass some of itis brilliant if my garden was smaller at the back think I would have one for it..I do wonder if the sun will fade it...I love it when the seedling appear...I haven't potted any this yet might just look for late ones...I am still trying to think of the words my mums used to use..my mind is foozled now.. is that the right spelling.. :?
Toni I think you are right turf then we can see instant results...yes teenagers...I remember it well ..so I do feel for her...and your Lucy going through all this...hope she has a good weekend and her friends all visit..I am sure they will.. :D
Joan I love the name peppa....I dont get to cuddle anything at the min even the baby wont get on anyone's knee.. :)

Barbara it's not actually on stage it take place in the theatres restaurant and as well as being served a meal by the cast you are also part of the show, not all theatres have a restaurant so it's not too well known,it's on for two weeks and was sold out almost as soon as the tickets went on sale,it's not till September so we have a bit of a wait.
It looks like it could rain here,I cut the front lawn this morning,it's full of moss and weeds.
Where is Kath T ? haven't seen her name for a while,is she on holiday and I've miss it ?
We have cheeseburger and chips for tea well he's having chips I'm having salad. Mig

i have snuck off for a break as have had to be with Son constantly since his trip out. i'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with the constant stress.

good news is that i don't seem to be suffering with that exhaustion any more. It might be because i haven't had my humira injections since mid March or it might be because I am sleeping late at night but staying in bed until midday,

i'm off to prepare lunch as my rest must surely be over.

Hello people :) just a quick visit.. not much going on.. I got a pot of spinach potted up, outside, and put in some violas indoors, don't know if I'll have much luck with them they sound like fussy seeds. Hope you got something sown Toni :) my introduction to spinach was from you last year so I've been converted since then.. just growing it as a salady crop so far. Oh I think I have a chive flower on way :D just the one  will be watching it closely, it'll be a proud moment lol.

Hope your turf is going to plan barbara.. I like the sound of your & mig's lawns :D better that than people manicuring them to an unnatural degree if you ask me.

Lol at yours & joan's dinners ending up on the floor too, that is very Fawlty Towers in itself isn't it ("oh, never mind about that, Chef.."). Hope you have a good time mig, I am not one for audience participation etc but if you are then it sounds like good fun. :D

Glad you are not quite so tired TK, it's interesting that you think the humira was partly causing it.. the drugs do operate on a win/lose basis don't they, very annoying.

Glad you've made a tidy bit in the neighbours' eyeline applerose  I often look at people's items on e*ay and think how easy it would be for people to tidy a tiny space for their photos & the rest could be a pigsty, you would never know.. then again people do photograph their things among mess and in some very odd places.. I've seen shoes done standing on the wc cistern would you believe.. and so many people seem to photograph clothes on the floor, can't understand it.. :?

Am squirrelling chocolate away for Easter so there is no fear of a shortage in here :D

May go & cook some lateish veg sausage and chips now there are chips being passed around, best to all, toady xx

Mig, my daughter went to one of the Faulty Towers shows. She loved it and wants to go again. My lawn sometimes looks like a patchwork quilt but that's because I cut round the wild flowers growing there. People often tell me I've missed a bit. Well done getting all the washing and ironing done.

Barbara, did you get your turf today? Hope you're not laying it? How's the ankle doing? My boss's mum gave me an Easter egg today. I won't get any more. I've still got chocolate from Xmas and Mother's Day to get through.

Joan, the 3 second rule. It's ok to eat the food as long as it's picked up within 3 seconds. The dogs would have only licked it clean.

Glad you've managed to get a break Elizabeth and that you don't feel so exhausted. Even a couple of short breaks a day might help you.

Toady, I don't like a well manicured lawn. I'd rather it looked natural. Well not totally. I still like the grass short but not fussy about the edges and I keep the flowers. Good luck with your chive flower. Ha ha, I've photographed clothes on the floor before. It was either that or put them on when they didn't fit any more and take a selfie.

Seemed like a long day today. Went to my boss's mum's first and ended up there most of the morning then to my boss's house for the rest of the day. I managed to see the 'blood' moon (the second full moon of the year) and Mars and I watched the international space station fly past overhead tonight all at the same time. Took pictures but Mars and the space station both looked liked dots on the pictures. Couldn't zoom in any more and didn't have space to video the space station which was a pity.

Hi all, early coffee break for me.. well comparatively to usual.. lovely outside, just been sweeping up a bit & moving some pebbles around and filling a couple of pots with compost.. will be putting in some 'salad burnet' that I bought to grow as a wildflower, the flowers looked interesting.

Hope you got on alright at the pain clinic barbara.. you will have to come back & put your foot up in here for a while after & be brought tea & biccies, whether you like it or not

Did see the full moon too, would have been cool to see the blood moon.. what were you watching it on applerose.. can't believe you've still got chocs from xmas  .. no offence to your carpet re ebay pictures, I've just always wondered why people do it rather than hang it up on a door, say.. is it so you can spread it out properly so people will see it clearer than if it's hanging (sleeves etc).. just one of those things I've always wondered why people do, I haven't ever done clothes so maybe that's why I haven't thought the advantages through (plus I couldn't get down easily to the floor to do it so I expect that's why it looks odd to me too  )

Hope you find Aldi to live up to what you've heard mig, do you mean adverts or do people sing its praises to you.. haven't got one nearby here.

Well will go & get on with my pc tasks, I'm currently trialling out other operating systems using a virtual program which is a good way to test something new.. well a free os, otherwise it would be a waste of buying software I suppose.. quite interesting so far.

Hope everyone is having some sun, xx

I remember Hillsborough at the time on T.V. and watching footage now is as heartbreakingas it was at the time. From memory I don't think the match was being televised live(apart from on RTE) but cameras were there to record the match for MOTD so events did unfold live. You could see the Liverpool fans spilling onto the pitch behind the goal but no violence. When they started collapsing around the goal mouth you knew something dreadful was happening. Nobody apart from the fans themselves seemed aware that 96 people were being crushed to death.

I'm just hoping OH friends don't turn up with their 2 unruly children.. He's taken my boy out to give me a break but they've been hassling to come round. They turned up at our house on my 50th when I asked them not to :x

hope you are all well, sorry I'm not at my best as I woke up with a headache and it is still hanging around.
