"Yawn" Sorry, feel even more tired than ever today, although I didn't have any itching to keep me awake last night - I repeat, I DIDN'T HAVE ANY ITCHING TO KEEP ME AWAKE LAST NIGHT. :D I know, I couldn't believe it. Itching a bit now though. :?

I've tried to catch up with everyone's news, but too tired to take in all the posts. I did notice Toady's mouse is still around and that Mig has a new hand splint. :)

We went to A**a this morning. Bought OH a new pair of slippers and a pack of white, cotton handkerchiefs. I bought myself two new bras. They are sports bras, old stock, and they won't be having them again - which is why I got two. Very comfy and stretchy, even with my prosthesis in. Mind you that is because I don't wear the hospital one. I have Knitted Knockers, soft and light. Can't remember whether I've mentioned them before.

Also bought some bedding plants: Fuchsias, Begonias, Petunias and Verbenas. Watched OH planting them - exhausted now. Well I did take them out of their packaging, and I swept afterwards  But we both forgot the hanging basket :o so will have to get a few more for that. We make our own compost, so that wasn't a problem.

Looking forward to the better weather they say we are to have tomorrow. So hope you all manage to get out in the sun for a while.

    Kath xx

    Evening all
Joan hope you are doping ok , you never say much but I know how much pain you have
Kath you did make me laugh..my late mum used to make her own boobs, and never hid it but let everyone know...but I don't think she knitted them  glad the itching has eased..that must have drove you mad...sorry you forgot the hanging baskets..but something to look forward to.. :D
The sun is shinning now after an awful day..been to my neighbours today she is not very well so I made her a cake and we had a chat...bless she seemed better having company..I just wish that more of the neighbours would get together and maybe meet up in each others homes..but we do have a couple that wouldn't.. maybe when they need someone..the kettle is on and I am gasping...xxxxx

Hello mig, marrianne, TK, barbara, joan & Kath.. and applerose from yesterday who I just missed, and bubbles if reading today.. hope you are doing ok since last posts. :) Spot of sun this morning but not much.. in the garden briefly but now rainy & a bit overcast & not that nice. :?

Glad to hear you are settling on the meth marrianne and I hope it stays that way now. :) I agree with you, it is hot and cold and changeable, and I'm never entirely sure which one I am :? sometimes both. Mouse had his supper/breakfast :) so he's alive & kicking, mousetrap on its way, so we'll see if he goes in it. It's a different one to the type I've tried before & people seem to have mixed success with it but I'm sure it'll be fine.

Applerose I need to paint my ceilings too.. badly.. but have no idea how I'll go about it yet as I can't look up properly  . Could do with a scaffold type thing like Michelangelo. I may just paint them a bit at a time & even if it then means they're patchy they won't look grubby if I have to then let someone else do a proper job. Hope they can come up with some answers for your boss's daughter.. miserable at that age, well any really.. but these things are so vague and probably the tests aren't definitive so hope this specialist is of use.

Hope your hubby got on well at the drug trial mig, not too much waiting around, & you were able to get away for your lunch.

TK so sorry you've picked up what your son has, :( blast, hope you can fight it off quickly. As you say, we aren't going to get the same 'touch of something' as others so it must have been a judgment call to take your humira. Hope your son's exams go well & your daughter is getting on ok on her trip too. Yes I'm not too keen about having mouse germs in the cupboard but it will spur me to replace the flooring & hopefully all will be well.

Barbara is your son nearly back from Spain.. hope your eldest got on alright ringing up for news.. fingers crossed for him.. kettle on for later if you are back for a nice cup of tea.. I'm sure your garden plans will be final now & if they're not, well it's only what we all do, changing things as we go..
You have just posted now while I was typing, so it's full steam ahead for the teapot :D nice of you to take your neighbour a cake, what sort was it.. yes there are people that will be find they drop a few barriers when their circumstances change.. since getting ill I look differently at people who live out in the back of beyond & think how will you manage if you get ill, but you don't really want to put gloomy ideas in their head.. they just don't think about it though (lucky things).

Kath, no itching :D how fabulous, keep it up.. yes do hope we get this nice promised weather, would like to get out somewhere this week, if I can stop yawning too.. you have started me off now

Love to joan & anyone else reading xx

Evening thought I would pop back before bed..
Toady my son comes back on Friday my Birthday...21 again I wish...64 really  my other son is having a phone call on Monday about his op..and still nothing on his scan...
So the mouse had breakfast and dinner..aww make sure you leave something out for supper...I painted our ceilings with along handles brush but it was a few years ago now and most of it went were it shouldn't..
Toady I didn't think about it like that...some of my neighbours are quite fit but elderly...even older than me..suppose they don't want bringing down..
Right one last cuppa then I will leave the kettle on for anyone that comes in sure Christine will turn it off...
hope you all sleep well.. xxxxxxx

Good appointment for you Mig. Hope your OH's went well today. Hope you enjoyed your Big Mac.

Marrianne, hope you managed to wash your hair. Great that you have no sickness.

Elizabeth, hope you are not all coming down with colds and it's just a quick 24 hour thing. Not good when they are doing exams or going on trips. My boss's daughter has been seeing one specialist after another for 2 years now. They all suggest something different and she's had all sorts of medication. Hope you have managed to get some sleep and feel a bit better in the morning.

Barbara, I remember having growing pains when I was a teenager. I thought it would be a bit chilly today with showers getting heavier during the day. Instead the sun has been shining and it's been very warm. And there was me with a jumper and raincoat on. Sounds as if your potatoes are doing well. Still time for your strawberries. Hope your son has been able to find out something. I remember my mum and her neighbours regularly popped to each others houses for cuppas. It doesn't seem to happen much these days. Thanks for leaving the kettle on. I'll have a cuppa then switch it off. Hopefully, I'm last in. It will still be hot if anyone is in after me.

Hi Joan. Hope the sun has been shining for you and you've had a good day.

Kath, great to hear there was no itching last night. Hope it's on it's way now. Don't worry about reading all the posts. If I miss a day, there's usually too much for me to catch up with. Sounds as if you have been very busy. No wonder you are feeling tired.

Toady, glad to hear mousie is well. Scaffolding might be a good idea to paint our ceilings. We could put boards on and lie down to do it.

Well that's the vampires filled up for the next 4 months. Then they'll be wanting a top up. Got a bus so far but still a 25 minute walk to get there and a 40 minute walk back home, although another donor offered me a lift halfway home so that was good. My groceries were delivered earlier from T*sc*. The young lad just missed the rain but said he'd been soaked twice. He was very friendly and took my shopping in to the kitchen for me, made sure everything was ok before he left. Much better than from Asd*. he just dumped it all in the porch and left me to carry it through.

I got a text from the heating engineer who put my boiler in saying that he's had to open a new bank account to put the cheque in to and he's hoping it will be cashed now. I don't see why it shouldn't be. I also got an email from the trust who paid it for me in reply to a question I sent them in February. A bit late.

evening to one and to all. I will try and read back, but so much has gone on I might end up in a muddle. I read of mice ( we had them in the house in France when we lived there ) knitted knockers too.
Tony said there is a massive bag of maltesers here, I would guess in the fridge, bless him and then some. I will share.
I hope everyone is as ok as possible. As I posted, I am just about done for with all the visiting at the hospital. Mum is doing ok, up and down a bit today, getting her to eat and drink is like pulling teeth, just don't know what to do, so we have left the staff well aware of the problem, they took her drip out yesterday, by the evening it was back in, as she was dehydrated.........going to be a long haul.
My pain levels are through the roof, there are stairs near her ward, no lift and at visiting all the wheelchairs are taken, to go up in the lift at the other end of the hospital. Not sure how many times I can make the climb, I know we find an inner strength, but we all have limits too.

Anyway, I will fuss Cuddles, I see another pus cat too. Kettle is on, milk is on, some custard danish, fresh from mark's as well. I know if I sit, I will not move.............oh the joys. lots of love xx bubbles

Ooops, only switched the laptop on to check the weather forecast before I go out and found myself in here.

Oh, there's Bubbles sat in the corner asleep with an empty M*lt*zeers packet in her hand. Bubbles, Bubbles, it's morning. Here's a cup of tea. Hope your mum recovers quickly and gets home so you don't have to climb those stairs. Would they allow you to use the lift or is that a long walk?

kettle's topped up for anyone else popping in. Bacon ready and eggs next to the frying pan. Bread buttered. See you later.

hi there Marrianne, Christine, Barbara and all, good to see you once more.

There are lifts, at the other end of the never ending corridor, how come hospital corridors are so damned long? Whoever the architect was, i want their name. If and it is a big if, you can park at the East end, where the lifts, shops and wheelchairs are, at visiting time, all the wheelchairs are like hens teeth, gone without trace. I did do it once, from east to west wing and I thought I was going to collapse (in the right place if I did I suppose ) but I could not do it again. So, it was off up the stairs again today, there is usually a queue of people at top and bottom while huff and puff my way up.

Mum was a lot brighter today, drip still in, still not drinking enough, barely eating enough to keep a sparrow going. What do you do, we will have to have a long conflab with the ward team.

Thanks for waking me up Rose, did I really eat so many maltesers? what a hog I am. Buddha, we have quite a few in the house, always on the highest vantage point as Buddha must pass on the knowledge to you from above. Looks like he will have to go on the roof Barbara.

Hugs to all, everyone take lots of care, am going to vegetate in a heap and eat everything I can lay my hands on. Uncle and Aunt ordered us to have a day off tomorrow and they will take care of hospital visits. Bless them. xxxx Bubbles

Marrianne, we had lovely weather this afternoon so I think summer is on it's way.

Barbara, yes £1 delivery from T*sc*. I think they had to, to compete with Asd*. I think the bamboo sounds good. Hope you find the buddha you want. Your son might be having an op next week? I'm sure it will get him well again.

Bubbles, you would think that hospitals would be built with lifts in several places rather than just at one end. Aren't parents awkward? They just don't do as they're told, do they? I didn't know that about buddhas. I'll have to put mine up higher. Enjoy your day off tomorrow.

Managed to cut the grass in the front garden, trim the edges and pull out a few weeds. I did think about doing other things but didn't get round to them.

I succumbed to the dreaded flu but as I found breathing no more restricted than normal I was not too worried just had to drag myself out of bed a couple of times to wash up ad cook for the children.

    Feeling much better today.

I absolutely love Japanese style gardens Barbara!

Afternoon all, am I too late for some egg and bacon? I know it's no longer breakfast, but I am hungry and think that would just hit the spot. If not, a cuppa and biscuits will do. :)

I don't have any news today, well I do, but it's not good, so don't want to share it just yet but will soon. It's about one of my chemo friends.

Elizabeth, I hope you have recovered from flu.
Barbara, you Japanese garden will be very relaxing when it's finished. I hope your son's surgery goes well.

I talk about my knitted knockers as often as I can. I haven't given in the urge to whip one out to show everyone yet though  It's just so nice looking like a 'normal' woman again.

Hope you are all making the most of this gorgeous weather, hope it lasts.

Morning all (well not morning exactly but I got up late so it feels like it to me).

Mousie is presumed well but no mousetrap yet  so he'll be here a bit longer. Like you marrianne I am upset at the cat offerings that are turning up, especially as I look forward to summer so much & then it's not nice to have it spoiled by worrying about the wildlife.. mice or else the birds are squawking & have to chase cat off, it's not very relaxing.. how I feel at the moment I could go off cats, sorry kitties but I'm wearing a bit thin. :( I'm certainly not an ace gardener it is mostly all talk  in fact this year I am mostly encountering failures, so it looks like I will down to herbs & a few tatty annuals as no sign of my planned perennials. Never mind it's just nice to be able to do any after the last few years.

Barbara hope you find just the Buddha you want in time for Friday :) it all sounds lovely & the bamboo & especially if you have the running water, you will be able to sit out and soak up the Eastern spirit, very relaxing. Sorry you have got your son's op coming up after your birthday, it sounds as though they have an excellent surgeon in mind which is good.. fancy making apple pie & custard for us, we should be making you cakes.. not sure you would thank me for mine though

Thinking of you & your mother bubbles, glad she was brighter even if the eating is still a worry. So unfortunate that the ward is so badly placed, it's good that you are not going in today all being well so I hope that helps you recover a little from the stairs.. hope you find her a little better when you next see her. The buddha I have is not at all high up, no wonder I am not exactly overburdened with wisdom &c. :?

Sorry the flu developed after all TK thank goodness it doesn't seem to have knocked you too hard & you're on the mend. Take it easy if possible, easier said than done.. is your daughter back today..?

Managed to go out for a while yesterday, it was nice.. but also stirs things up a bit comparing how I used to feel going out as it's more of a contrast than indoors and you remember past outings.. but I can do more than at one point so will have to be happy with that. Wish I had more places to go within walking distance, there is nothing to do really apart from walk up the road, to get where there is anything to see or do it's always some sort of bus. And not many of them go where you want.

Like you applerose I didn't know what to wear it's hard to judge. Hope you got it right today. Maybe you will get round to those jobs you were thinking about. The again it would a shame to rush at them. Hope that will be the end of the boiler saga.

Hello mig & joan. Kath sorry about your news :( If you missed breakfast I have plenty of biscuits from shopping yesterday & some rather posh tea, so I'll do the honours.

Anybody see this on the news?

Bubbles sorry your mum is not eating or drinking..its is so hard when they dont want to..nice to see she was a bit brighter..please make sure you take care of yourself in all this

Just finished typing my post then clicked to delete the page. Doh!

Marrianne, hope your cats don't bring you presents. Hope you managed to get out today.

Mig, nandos sounds good. Nice not to have to cook sometimes.

Elizabeth, hope you are recovering quickly from the flu. It's tough trying to get out of bed but hope you manage to get plenty of rest and help around the house.

Kath, hope there is some bacon and egg left for you. I don't think it matters what time of day it is. Sorry you have bad news. Just let us know when you're ready if you want to tell us. I love the knitted knockers. Do you have different sizes for different occasions?

Hello Joan. Hope you have had a good day.

Toady, glad you got out yesterday. It is irritating not being able to do what you used to. Didn't have the right clothes on today either. There were one or two spots of rain today so I didn't get the grass in the back garden done. Never mind there's always tomorrow. Yes I saw the cat on tv. I wouldn't have thought a cat would do that.

Barbara, Yes we've all just helped ourselves to food and drink. Hope the slate turns out to be the right colour. As you say, maybe in the sun.

My boss's wife told me today that there 2 boys are off school for the next 2 weeks for revision as they are both doing exams. That means there will be 5 people at home, all wandering about from room to room. Guess I'll just be flitting about flicking a duster here and there. Won't be able to get on properly with everyone there.

hi there to all, kath barbara, christine, toady, mig, marrianne, who did i miss, apologies in advance.
toady, cats are wonderful creatures and our neighbour told us of the hero pus cat, so I had to go find it in the papers, thanks for the link :) Our three are not at all spoiled rotten, with Mark's cooked chicken breast on top of the prescription diet, that the the boy ragdoll, the ladies are more than happy with expensive biscuits. They are house cats, i would not want them wandering the woods, picking up all sorts of lodgers, perish the thoughts.

this seems a good site for screens mig, we need some too, cannot bear summer and the heat, it floors me.

Hope you are feeling better elizabeth, sending hugs and eucalyptus oils.

kath, you share only what you want, as and when, until then lots of hugs from matron.

Marrianne, you are right, hospitals never seem to be built to accommodate patients and visitors needs, it was different when i was nursing, i never really took any notice and was up and down corridors all day long, boy does that seem like an eon ago. We had a day off from visiting today, I know that sounds mean and I have been whittling all day. Aunt and Uncle did the visiting and reported back that mum was brighter and had been walking, eating a little, drips were down catheter out, so let's hope we are on the way to recovery.

Time for me to move, I cannot sit for long at all, these bones are crumbling around me. Such is life and off up those darned stairs again tomorrow. Everyone take lots of care, enjoy the good weather. It is nearly chocolate time :D n night, God bless. xxxxx bubbles
