Sorry it's not been the best of days, joan with your visit to your neighbour :( and blood tests, for you and mig.. and a bruise for mig (sorry I didn't mention your appt in my last post) is that because it wasn't the good nurse..

It has been a bit chilly.. & I'm not particularly warm this pm though it says 19 on the thermostat.. hope you haven't had the thunder barbara. Was waiting til half 7 for my delivery, I should have paid the £1 extra for a 8-12 slot. Of the eb*y thing, no sign.. better be here tomorrow or will be back to chasing up the seller

Did not get in the garden much what with rain on & off & disturbances.. the workers will be next door for a few days I think but they seem to knock off quite early.. I noticed they were happy to sit on my lawn for their breaks, good job there is still some nice soft grass around then, eh.. Well done with your strawberries.. and potatoes, I have never tried pots but people make it sound not too hard so maybe I'll give it a go.

Glad you've heard from son & family :) Sorry about the ironing, guess that was me distracting you over tea.. you did only say 'a chat', sorry I started on a very long story with no real beginning middle or end (or point) to it.

    See you all xx

Hi Coco. Hope it warmed up a bit for you today.

Toady, I find it very annoying when neighbours make so much noise but I guess work has to be done. What a cheek sitting in your garden. I'm looking forward to seeing a picture of your hollyhocks. I know what you mean. If I rested whenever I felt tired, I'd get nothing done. Hope your Eb*y item turns up tomorrow. I once sold a top and posted it. The girl said it never turned up but she was ok about it. It was only about £3 but I did feel bad about it.

Barbara, you've just reminded me. I spotted 1 potato growing out of a bag. It's about a foot tall and must have been missed from last year. As for the strawberries over winter, I don't do anything with them. Just leave them to it. They've come back for the last 3 years. Hope your son has a good holiday. I find it is very easy to get distracted from any type of housework.

Joan, not a good day for you then. Hope you get good results from your test. I hope your neighbour settles in to the care home.

Mig, not good when it won't stop bleeding. Hope the results are good. I love lamb chops but can't bring myself to eat them after bringing the new born lambs in from the fields.

Off to the hospital tomorrow for a routine boob squash. I can cope with the discomfort but worry the machine won't stop.

Afternoon all.. windy & a bit mixed today.. glad of a teabreak though I haven't done much.

Sorry about the double post yesterday don't know what went on there.

No sign of the postman. Back to the drawing board there I think.

Good luck with the appointment applerose. Hope there was no equipment malfunction. You'll be glad of a nice hot tea or coffee when you get back. Hope you are not hanging around and it doesn't take all of your day up. I will look forward to seeing my hollyhocks too :D if they ever make it out of their infancy. We'll see.

Hope you get on with your Japanese garden barbara, did you get to B&*? A few houses here have slate at the front and it ends up all up the road for yards.. definitely better for back gardens. Will get the kettle on for anyone passing.. mig hope the bruise settles.. & good luck with the shoes.. must order some shopping myself, cupboards are looking a bit empty :? It's getting round to it.. lazy.gif

By the way I wish to disassociate myself here & now from a certain irritating & luridly dressed amphibian I have just seen advertising a soft drink brand. Nothing like me. xx

Hi Mig, Toady, Barbara, Applerose, and anyone else who might have fallen asleep in the corner. You know who you are

Punch Biopsy went ok thanks, the only painful bit was the anaesthetic injection beforehand. They did a 4mm cut which needed 4 stitches, I have to go to my practice nurse to have them removed on May 20th. My next appointment with dermatology is on June 18th when I hope they will have found out what my problem is. :? So on with the itching

Had a very surreal morning this morning. We went to our local Co-op and Post Office - 20 mins walk away. Had quite a surprise to see a small herd of cattle which had escaped from a field not too far away, and were heading towards the Community Centre car park. The farmer had caught them up and was on his phone. When we came out of the Co-op, they had gone. They had to cross a very busy road, holding all the traffic up, to get into the village. Sadly I didn't bother to take my mobile with me, or I would have had a great photo to show you.

Mig, I wish I'd had tea with you yesterday. Lamb chops, yummy. Today we had fish cakes with Salmon, peas and mushrooms. Sorry to hear you got a bruise along with your blood test.

Joan, I hope your blood test was a bit more successful. What a sad story about your neighbour. We've been watching Taking Care of the Elderly. It had some very shocking stories, and some very sad ones, quite upsetting really

Sorry if I've missed anyone - I know I have, terrible memory. But thinking of you all.

By the way, those little animations don't work on FB

Toady..no parcel...I hope it comes soon ..I don't do patience..now you got me wondering about this amphibian..or am I being a bit brainless... :? I was thinking this about the slate but thought its better than stones that roll under my feet...what an horrible days its been today ...didn't have to water my garden and didn't get to B&*
Mig I think that these blood people are so different..I have my favorite but don't always get her...what about Sketch**s some are not badly priced and have memory foam insoles
Kath that didn't sound very nice..thought they were just scarping a bit of skin.. :o hope its not to painful tonight...and that it helps them to help you :) the cattle made me laugh, wounder were they all ended up  we used to get the cows and bulls running down our rd when we first moved in..I remember one of the cows with its front feet on our car
Hope that Christine managed some me time after her appointment
no GC no hubby he is on a course..so all on my own ..chilling out :D

Barbara, I don't even put my strawberries in the greenhouse over winter. Just leave them out in the garden.

Mig, for some reason I never like the idea of liver but I always enjoy it when I do have it. Free delivery? That's really good. We don't have a W**tr*se anywhere near here. Good luck finding some shoes.

Toady, still no package? Hope you get it sorted out. I still haven't done another online shop. I keep buying in the supermarket and can't find enough to order online. Haven't seen the ad but I'm sure you look nothing like the amphibian.

Kath, glad the biopsy went ok. Still another few weeks to go but hopefully they will find an answer. How strange it must have been seeing all those cows.

Well I've been to have my boobs squashed and very well squashed they were. I'm sure she lowered the plate to the usual position and then a bit more. She did reassure me that if the machine broke, she would be able to manually get me out and that if the fire alarm went off, she wouldn't leave me there. I ended up getting 5 buses today altogether and spent about an hour waiting for them and another 2 hours sitting on them. After working this afternoon, my legs feel very wobbly. Must have been the shock of this morning.

The old man from across the road had a fall about 7 weeks ago and spent some time in hospital. 2 weeks ago, he went in to a care home and has decided he doesn't want to go back home. The family have been round to the house and it sounds as if they've almost cleared it out already. I think they should have waited a while longer in case he changes his mind. He has lived there for about 50 years.

Great news about your daughter Elizabeth. Hope you got enough rest and managed to listen to the football.

Barbara, my boobs are back to their normal shape today. I agree with you there Barbara. I don't see the rush to take things. It is possible for people, like your cousin, to move back in to their home. I would be horrified if my kids did that to me. Hope things go well for your son.

Mig, glad to see you've found some footwear. Hope you find them comfortable.

Sorry you've got thrush and a sore throat Joan. Hope the drops clear it up.

We've only had a few drips of rain here. It has been very cloudy and we're expecting some heavier rain soon. A nice cup of chocolate, I think, before bed.

Hello all, just a late one.. not much concentration left so I'll keep it to a quick hello over some supper..

Glad to hear people's appointments mostly went ok, though sorry you still have a list to tick off Kath, & that you're having troubles with sore mouth joan.. not nice hope it'e better soon.. at least if your bloods were ok give or take & maybe you won't have to have any more iron after the current lot. Hope you results are good mig. And that your shoes are alright for you when you get them. :)

Certainly has been rainy on & off but we were forecast thunder & didn't get it, quite black though at times. No gardening today. No parcel either :( have had to message seller again, we'll see what they come up with is this time.

Congrats to your daughter TK :D and hope you didn't jinx the football.

Anyone that hasn't seen the ad I mentioned won't know what I'm on about, so don't worry it's me not you. You all know v**to the drink, well some bright spark has come up with a 'v**toad' to advertise it. Bright pink & wearing a hawaiian shirt if I remember right. If they wanted to turn around the idea that fizzy drinks make you hyper, don't think that is the way.. Mind you the whole thing is sounding more unlikely by the minute, maybe I imagined it.

Applerose that's awful about the elderly chap :( & your story too barbara but it is all too common as you say. Maybe they know the gentleman is definite about not returning.. and/or need to get the house clear.. but that's wanting to think the best of people, more probably they are just being 'previous' as you say.

Back for a nice cup of coffee tomorrow & I will hopefully have woken up a bit. :) Hope Lucy has been doing ok all this week (if Frog should pop in),

    night all xx

Cold and rainy today but going to try and stay awake. Got my Brother ringing at midday as he wants to borrow some money but he's not liking me questioning how he is going to pay me back. Think I'll keep out of this.

Like Toady, I'd like to think they were doing what the Gentleman wanted, clearing up quickly on his behalf so he doesn't have strangers rummaging around. Presumably they need to sell his house for care fees (so the family won't get everything from him).

I did jinx the football but they play them again and both scores are added together. So there is still hope.

I've got iron tabs Joan but I'm still always feeling tired.

Barbara I hope the op for your Son goes well. I'm trying to think how I'd feel in his shoes.

Well I must just do something important. I'll be back soon,

Late today bloods then went to see my niece... :D she is really upbeat and has a way of lifting you...and making me laugh... :D
Christine glad your boobs are back to normal...you haven't mentioned your family for awhile is all well or do you just keep out of it.. :)
Elizabeth..its the same here very windy and cold the sun has come out since we came  in
Toady I am with you now, the advert..the blinking cheek of um.. concentration is something I don' have anymore..and my memory is terrible..we gave my prescription in at a supermarket and came home without it...the blind leading the blind OH says...
I am waiting for my scan appointments..nothing yet ..he did say they wouldn't be long because he wanted all the
results, in time to see me again think he said 2 months..its me being inpatient..
I hope that Joan's mouth is easing up for her, thrush is quite painful...

Toady, still no parcel? Did you manage to contact the seller? Glad you didn't get the thunder and lightning. It was cloudy here but no rain today.

Elizabeth, I'm not keen on lending money to family, especially if I didn't know what for. They earn more than me but I look after my money. If I can't afford it, I do without. They don't. Hope you've had a reasonable day today.

Glad you had a good time with your niece, Barbara. Family, I feel I don't get told anything and I don't ask any more. My sister who cares for dad is quite friendly with me but my other sister isn't interested in anything but her own life and her own kids. It doesn't bother me now. I've got more important things to worry about. My dil has had another fit during the night. She didn't know anything about it. My brother phoned to say he's waiting for a scan as they think he may have had a stroke. Hope you don't have to wait too long for your results.

Don't know what's the matter with my lips tonight. They feel swollen with dry patches. Wonder if I've burned them. I like my tea very hot. :? My sofa came today, just after 9 so I wasn't too late for work. When I got home, I spent at least an hour re-arranging the furniture. Think I've got it sorted. I did think about keeping my 3 seater but I really don't have room. The sofa is lovely and comfortable. Think I could sleep on it.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Gosh no-one seems quite right ATM.:(

Joan Lucy gets thrush in her mouth from the chemo as well as ulcers sometimes. She has the yellow stuff - Is it nystatin?? I hope your iron tablets make you feel better even if they don't help Elizabeth :(

Christine I am so glad the sofa is lovely and comfy as well as a bargain!!! I wonder whether you have burnt your lips?? If not I would just ask the chemist for some advice maybe???

    Barbara
Is everything alright with your son? I hope so. I think he needs an op from what Elizabeth said??
Glad your niece can lift your spirits like that bless her:) I hope you had your appointments through the post this morning.

    Elizabeth
I hope you didn't feel obliged to lend your brother any money. It's not at all fair that you being sensible and looking after your money results in others borrowing it :(

When my Mum went we cleared up reasonably quickly incase anyone decided to burgle the place...that would have been dreadful :(

Toady when were you expecting your parcel? I hope maybe it's arrived today.

Rainy here too on and off yesterday and looks like it will be the same today ::) Good for me as we over-seeded the grass last weekend ;)

Thanks Toady Lucy is ok lots of sickness yesterday bless her, but ok overall :)

Mig I hope the stew was lovely - I expect so :) I also hope you will have good news to report about your new shoes. Wider and bigger with room for orthotics sounds very promising.

KathT I hope that biopsy shows precisely what is wrong and that it can be fixed ASAP. I do wish you'd had your camera/phone so we too could have seen the cows!!! Sounds brilliant!!! ;)

    Love to everyone else

Christine...your poor dil and all of you having to worry like this...I do hope she will be ok...and you enjoy your sofa there is nothing nicer than something new in the house..especially when its a bargain... :D family eh...at least you are ok with your sister that is looking after your dad...then you don't need to worry the same.
Hope Toady's parcel arrives not very nice...but I suppose all sorts of things can go wrong with the posting of it..
Elizabeth heis worried but says not...he is a part time actor...and works has well so very busy...it doesn't give him time to worry I do it all ..and you have every right to ask how he will pay you back
Its is pouring down again ..proper sad I am..hopefully next week the sun will be back
