Hello people :) not raining today but howling wind instead :? indoors for me til the better bit we are meant to be getting midweek. Supposedly.

Doing some general tidying & stuff today. Hope the football has gone or goes well TK depending on when the rematches are. Also hope the situation with your brother didn't turn too awkward. Feel quite lucky having few relatives in one way, I either get on with mine or else we are mutually rather distant, no aggravation to speak of. Did you get the 'something important' done ok.

Hope you get your appointments through soon barbara, especially as you don't do being patient (sounds familiar) and that they can co-ordinate them as sensible times. I have done the leave my prescription in the supermarket thing too. They are always on at you these days to sign up to automatic scheme to collect for you (from surgery to chemist) but I'd rather not.

Glad you like your sofa now it's arrived applerose :D Rearranging is fun I find unless I'm having a day where I start to doubt if I like where I've put things. Then you ought to leave it to 'settle' & get used to it but I have to resist being tempted to put things back as they were. I get like that with cupboards. Sorry about your family worries. Hope your brother can be seen quickly for the scan. I can't remember you telling us about your dil, sorry. Is she on any treatment or waiting for a diagnosis?

Hello frog :) So sorry Lucy has been poorly during this week and hope it's a first reaction to the new chemo & will maybe settle as she gets further in.. will check for updates. Best to you all hope you can have a quiet weekend. xx

No parcel and I think it has probably gone permanently awol from the sound of things. I will get a refund but it's not the same. Ah well, it's small beer in the grand scheme of things. Thanks all for asking. :)

Hello joan too & wishing you a good weekend too. :)

I am going to have a fake bacon sandwich, you are welcome to join me but I'll understand if I get no takers

Thanks Toni. My lips are a little better today. I've been using lots of moisturiser on them. I was reading the other thread. Hope Lucy has a better weekend than she has week. Hope the grass is enjoying the rain.

Barbara, it's good that your son is kept busy at the moment. Difficult for you not to worry though. Doesn't matter how old they are, we still worry for them. Hope the sun shines for you tomorrow and helps to cheer you up.

Hello Joan, hope the sun is shining for you. Looks like most of us have rain.

Toady, I used to get B**ts to collect my prescription for me until I went to collect inhalers and, instead of there being 2, there were 8. There is now a pharmacy attached to our health centre now so much easier. I've ended up with the furniture back in the same place, except for the 2 seater which is where the chair was and the chair is on the other side but will go back once I get rid of the 2 seater. My dil had quite a few fits during the night while she was asleep before Xmas and wouldn't have known about them if my son hadn't told her. She hadn't had one till the other night. She's been on several different meds but they all make her feel as if she has a hangover.

Elizabeth, I'm not surprised you gave up. It's so annoying when you spend time typing it all out and it disappears. I've found that if I wait a minute till it tells me it's been posted, it's ok. If it says someone else has posted just before but I don't read that post and just click to another page then it disappeared. Hope you've had a reasonably peaceful day.

My sister, the one who lives near me, asked dad today if she could take all his photos home to look at. She intends to put together a memory book for him as he has Alzheimers. There were 3 carrier bags full. Unfortunately, she left one of the bags on the bus when she got home. Fortunately, she managed to catch the same driver the next time he came round to the stop and someone had handed them in. My sister said she cried her eyes out in relief. Not surprised. Some of the photos are from when my mum was a little girl in the 1930s. Think it's time to get them all scanned and backed up.

Have just been chasing a big spider round the kitchen :o finally cornered it and got rid of it outside so have come in for tea to calm my nerves. Ugh. It's this wet weather it sends the blighters indoors. It was just where I'd been working earlier too, it really sets you on edge for going in corners etc once you've seen one. Ugh again.

You've had the rain as well mig. Will happily join you on Monday, I have no plans. :)

Glad your lips are easing applerose, sounds like they will continue to improve now. Scary for your dil :( & son too of course, they must just have been thinking that things were settling with no other incidences since xmas. I can imagine the meds have an unwanted effect, I think I have heard so before. Not surprised your sister was frantic over the photos, must have been awful waiting for the bus to come around, lucky it was not on its way back to the depot or at the end of a shift/driver change etc.. though they would probably still have got handed in ok but it would have been a longer wait to find out probably. What a relief. Hope your furniture settles in its new/old position.

Shame about your post TK :( so annoying when you've bothered composing something. See you soon I expect.

No barbara today, hope she is ok; I will leave the kettle on though it's a bit late, someone may be glad of it.. hope everyone has a good Sunday, xx.

    Morning everyone :D

What a day it is s015.gif

    Another day inside methinks

Toady I will have a veggie bacon butty any day thanks as will Lucy we love 'em
I think your parcel has gone AWOL I think time to investigate further what a shame :(
You are probably right about Lucy and the new chemo regime. She needs to eat more often a little at a time toast to start with - apparently I make the best toast
We have our meds via our local independent pharmacist who I've known since Lucy and Charley were wee :) It works well, but it looks as though the surgery are being naughty....they have opened one inside the surgery and are often 'late' sending ours up to the independent pharmacy now. :(

Thanks Barbara for the caramel macchiato. It doesn't matter how you spell it when it tastes this lovely :) Anyone tried a hazelnut skinny latte? another nice one ;)

I do hope whatever is wrong with your son that he is ok. I don't like to think of you having worries :?

Cuddles just came in k040.gif with Daisycat soaking wet

Don't be too sad about the weather - my husband reckons it'll pick up after Wednesday :)

Hi Joan I hope you are all well and that Peppa is coping with this nasty wind and staying upright!!

I got Daisycat a new pet carrier (a D*g one, but don't tell her) for in the car. When all this is over and Lucy is better we still want to get somewhere in France and of course she must come with us too:)

Lucy is doing well perky as ever bless her despite the sickness.

    Elizabeth
I am so sorry you couldn't post :x bloomin technology eh? I hope all is well your end with you and the kids, (esp your son), and that your bro was ok not after too much money :? .

Christine I am sorry to hear your DIL has had several seizures in the night. As you know Lucy also has epilepsy. She is now on keppra as it seems ok though neither of us liked it at first. In fact we blamed it for her being ill when it was actually the leukaemia

    Good your lips are recovering.

The story about the family photos nearly going missing was so scary!!! I have lost both of my parents and I am the keeper of the memories for our family. I too am scanning them (or was before Lucy got ill) for us 3 'kids'.

I am so glad yours are safe :)

Hi Mig Lucy and I will come to your rheumy apt if you come to hers first?? I don't mind driving to both :) Rain here too :( never mind the gardens like it.

    Love to everyone

Just popped in out of the wind and rain. Don't laugh, my hair is sticking up all over the place - I look like Ken Dodd.

Toni, we have friends who run a burger stall on our local market. They do B**ds e*e veggie burgers. Delicious, but they told us on Friday they now only do a two burger pack and it costs the same as the 4 burger pack used to. :o

Toady, you should have given me a shout. I'm the official spider remover in my house. OH just wacks them over the head with a heavy object before tossing them in the bin.

Mig, we've had B***ns **** with sausage chips and peas. I hope your rheumy appointment goes well tomorrow.

Applerose, I wish I'd get 8 inhalers. I only ever get one of the blue ones, but 2 of the purple ones. We've got a new health centre being built near us, not my docs though. But it will have a pharmacy attached.

Looking forward to the alleged change in the weather mid week. Fed up of the wind, although don't mind the rain so much as it stops the neighbours kids from causing trouble outside. :x

    Cheerio for now. xx

Hello everyone. Nice to come in & get a bit of peace & quiet. The spider was only the start of my troubles last night as it turned out. :( Cat brought in a live mouse at gone midnight, which promptly escaped into the cupboard under the stairs :? with a mouse on the loose I had to put the cat back out (I would have preferred him in where he can't cause trouble; not even my cat but that's another story). The inevitable result, he brought in a replacement one at 5 in the morning. Sadly not alive :( so the added burden of guilt that that was partly my fault.:cry: No idea where mouse #1 is. Guess who will be turning out the cupboard quicker than they had in mind.

Thanks for the spider offer Kath, I can't bring myself to kill them worse luck so they get chucked outside these days if poss. My worse nightmare is losing one, so I've had some very fraught chases & stakeouts. I would look like a hayrick if I went out in this so I'm not even going. Hope you have calmed down the Doddy look now. Nice to know you & Toni don't mind keeping me company on the veggie side of the cafe. :) That's an inflationary move of B**ds e*e's part. We veggie's get a bad deal in some ways. Another downside is that often assume we all want our food stuffed with peppers & spices which I don't thanks.

Hope Lucy can get some relief by following the 'little & often & mum's special toast' diet. Fantastic that she can remain perky, and I hope that the French trip will be a reality for you all one day soon. :) Better warn 'les souris' that Daisycat is coming, they may want to pack their little cases & go into hiding. Thank goodness Cuddles never gets up to any of this savagery.

Glad peppa is able to stay upstanding joan, perhaps it helps to have little legs :D should think it is still irritating for her like the rest of us. Her little ears must get blown about, annoying I imagine.

Ah well cupboard it is, & pray I don't find a little body. :(

I'm not enjoying this weekend at all. Neighbours had a party on Fri and now booming out more cr*p. At the end of my tether.

I've as good as said no to my Bro. It gives me choice with housing and if we need a bigger car, even triple glazing  all the things that make life easier all round.

It was my fault I lost the post. I typed far too much and then pressed something and the post disappeared into nowhere land and could not be retrieved-twice!

Mig, I'm supposed to be at work on Monday but I'm sure they won't notice if I'm missing for a while to go with you to your appointment.

Toady I just leave the spiders and just wipe away the cobwebs. They keep the flies down. I think the furniture has settled now and I have settled very nicely on the sofa. 2 mice in one night? i wouldn't have slept a wink. Hope mouse 1 has gone back outside.

Hope you haven't blown away in the wind Toni. Plans on going back to France will give you all something to look forward to. That's good that Lucy's epilepsy is under control. She certainly doesn't need that at the moment.

Joan, I hope Peppa is keeping dry and out of the wind.

Kath, your hair looks fine. Nothing a quick brush wouldn't sort out. I heard the weather was supposed to improve over the next few days. Hope they are right.

Elizabeth, noisy neighbours are a right pain in normal circumstances but it must be driving you mad. Are you able to talk to them and explain? Good for you saying no to your brother. So sorry to hear your sad news. (((hugs)))

Barbara, you'll get there eventually with your garden. A bit at a time. Oooh, think I'll have to order some of that cream as long as your biker delivers it. Paul Hollywood look alike. Mmmmmm. I did order a Trunkie from Am*z*n for my grandson to be delivered to Dublin. It was meant to arrive before they went on holiday but it still hasn't arrived and they got home again today. Hoping a neighbour has it.

I bought some paint for my bedroom a couple of weeks ago so today, I decided to get started. First I had to take off some anaglypta from 1 wall. I had taken the rest off a few years ago. It came off quite easily but it took me all afternoon. Maybe the painting can wait till next weekend.

Just a quick call & then I will catch up later, must get on with a few things first & have to catch the post etc..

..but I thought I'd give you a mouse update.. the good news is.. mouse is alive & well :D I left out some cereal on the kitchen floor and the lot had gone this morning so unless I have something else  mousie has survived his ordeal. The not entirely good news is I am not 100% sure where he is  & will now have to set about trapping the little chap. But I can't tell you how much it cheers me up to know that even just one has escaped being added to the grim little casualty list. :D Yes barbara, if only the cat just caught the spiders, well some do, but this 'un doesn't seem much use in that line.

We will get you some nice tall bootee slippers marianne and between us will keep the mice & spiders away. Lovely to see you back look forward to hearing how things are. :)

    Back later :) xx

Hi Marrianne. I'm sure Cuddles is around here somewhere. She'll keep you safe. That must have given you a shock. I've thrown out my flip flop type slippers as I nearly slipped on the stairs a few times wearing them.

Barbara, yes I remember you telling us about the painting. Didn't realise you hadn't finished. I'll be the same. I need to paint the ceiling next but don't think my neck will cope so it could take some time, if I do actually get round to it. Ha ha, the young ones think we are too old. We know better, don't we? Bet your GD is over the moon with the picture. Sounds as if your garden is coming along nicely.

Toady, glad the mouse is still alive but hope you manage to catch him.

I've got an appointment tomorrow after work to give blood. Hope the weather is ok as it's going to be a 20 minute walk from where I'm working then 40 minutes back home. Shopping will be delivered tomorrow night. And the physio phoned to say there was an cancelled appointment at the same time as I'm giving blood. Haven't given blood for a year so asked for a later physio appointment. Won't be till June now. Not to worry. My hip hasn't been playing up so it gives me time to see if it's healed now then I can cancel the physio app.

My boss's 12 year old daughter is complaining of pain in her joints and is feeling exhausted all the time again. She's spent most of her days for the last 2 years in bed. One specialist said it was probably an autoimmune thing. She's seeing another specialist next month.

*Gets a nice cup of coffee & sits down* Ooh, that's better. I'm chilly, tired & grumpy this evening. Somehow knowing it's going to be warmer, I keep thinking it should feel better now.. certainly doesn't.

Reading back now, so I'm very sorry to hear about your friend TK, you were expecting bad news & it must be tough to have heard the inevitable. :( Hope the weekend didn't get any worse for you with the noise but it was not sounding good, if it was all still keeping up into Sunday. :( Guess they will have stopped now but that's small consolation I expect. Well done for turning down your brother's request, you can give me some saying No lessons. Hope you're doing ok today.

Barbara you are all set now with your garden plans :) full steam ahead. Sounds very nice indeed. Hope you get the weather to do it. I will try & get my seat put up but I feel it's just inviting the rain if I do. Sorry you had a soaking earlier. :? Bet your GD is made up with her picture.. lucky they heard a whisper about the appearance & could get there :)

No I didn't sleep that well after the mice applerose  or last night, as I was tensed waiting for further happenings. Will have to wait til my mousetrap arrives (I gave the one I had someone) so in the meantime I'll just have to keep giving mousie B&B & hope or the best. They do tend to come back.. I always thought that was homing instinct (if you had resident mice) and you would be ok letting out ones that belong elsewhere.. but I'm not so sure going by Barbara's mouses. We'll see. Hope you can get to your decorating soon :D I do like painting.. when I feel like it.. what are you having..?

Hope you will find the meth helps you marrianne :) & the spacey feeling wears off as you get used to them.. mine do that a bit I think, but it's hard to tell sometimes, I'm tired today after mine yesterday & can't think very crisply.. but then I don't feel the same every Monday after, so it may not be that, just general 'off' days. Staying in a lot and taking one day at a time is what I do mostly these days, so I'll join you in that.

I'm sure there are some biscuits about and I have an open box of Lin*o*s asstd chocs so help yourselves. :) xx

Son had a slight cough on Saturay but seemed fine by Monday so went off to school. I took my Humira injection in the day and now I'm suffering from a dreadful sore throat, coughing and chest pains. Other Son had to take headache pills for the first time ever-he is doing 2 GCSE's today and Daughter has gone off on a school trip for 2 days so just hope she doesn't get ill while away.

I should have held off with the injection but I just didn't think my Son was that bad (I suppose he is a lot healthier than me).

Weekend was awful all round really but life can't always be good.

I used to quite like mice until you realise how much they spread germs around all over your kitchen.

So sorry to read about your bosses Daughter Applerose. It does sound like an auto-immune. She needs a diagnosis and treatment to help her asap.

Okay love to you all and your love ones. Going to see if I can get a lie down but have a parcel due.
