A sunny afternoon to one and all, Joan, Barbara, Christine, Toni, Elizabeth

Sorry to hear about your foot getting worse Barbara, will the nurse take a look ( I assume they are still coming out). It sounds horrid. Lathering arnica gel on, might help a little, it certainly should not do any harm as long as there is no broken skin. We bought our huge bottle by SBC, from QVC, but you can get it cheaper on E__y if you nose around. Hugs for improvements.
I looked at the pictures Toni, very nice they are too :deckchair:

Building, well, our lovely market town has many small estates popping up all over the place. Quite how planning is approved in a so called area of outstanding natural beauty, is beyond me. Lots of people protest against it, but, to no avail. There is deff cash floating around somewhere. As yet, there are no immediate new builds in our village, but we are only a couple of miles away, so nothing would surprise me in the future.

Coffee out was lovely, but there were NO scones  . The lady who supplies them, fresh every day, to a secret recipe, has had an op on her knee so could not stand to bake them. The lovely waitresses did comfort me and I had to force myself to eat lemon drizzle cake, difficult though it was :D It is much warmer today, very pleasant out. OH did some tidying in the garden while I buttered bread for sandwiches and pottered round the kitchen, admiring our lovely clean boiler  Glad it made you chuckle Barbara. I must be a bit OCD, from my nursing days, when cleanliness was next to Godliness.

T time pills done, only 14 at T time.

All the cats are dozing, on cushions and fleeces, (not that they are spoiled). Won't be too long before I head off for a lay down too.

    Everyone take care, XXXX Bubbles

    Hi there Bubbles :)

I would admire a sparkling clean boiler too if we had one ;)

You are a brave soul eating that lemon drizzle cake  As Lucy would say you took one for the team

    Joan
I am so pleased Sue has had her last Xray /scan - any news on when the mark is to be removed under her eye?

Christine the main reason for all the road works we go through is new housing :( I am totally remember how bereft I felt when Lucy and before her Charley started nursery at school. I actually missed the Teletubbies music.

Barbara that is a great idea letting the hospice raise money through your lovely jewellery! They will totally appreciate it and you will feel good for doing it :)

Your poor foot - I hope it feels better soon ((()))

Kath thank you for the menu...

Please thank Emily - I will have 2 blueberry muffins (one for Lucy - she loves them !) The croquettes and to finish chocolate cherry scones. Have some Cornish clotted to go with them if anyone fancies some ;)

I am glad to hear you slept a good bit better - I hope todnight is even better.

Elizabeth - best of luck for tomorrow at the rheumy's yes you must tell her about your sore hip :(

I hope your Lucy is getting on k back at school bless her ((()))

Is Dan back to normal now after his respite?

    Love to everyone

Bubbles, it is sometimes too much to take in when reading back. Floating sounds good maybe with zero gravity. My boiler is due for a service next month. Better flick a duster round it before then. Isn't it strange where the day goes. doesn't matter if I'm busy or do nothing, the day is never long enough. Our little town will be about double in size with the houses that have been passed so far and so will the village nearby where my son lives. It's as if they are trying to join up all the housing with no green wedges in between.

Barbara, asking the hospice to sell your jewellery is a good idea. I'm sure they will appreciate it. Sorry your foot is so bad. Is there nothing the nurse can do?

Joan, my GD cried a bit on her first day at nursery. She wondering where her mum had gone but she was fine once she was told she would be back soon. She's enjoying playing with the other little ones though. Good news that Sue's x-ray and scan were ok.

Toni, I can't say I am missing the kids' programmes although I did miss my GD. Clotted cream? Mmmm, thank you. I will have some with one of Emily's muffins.

I spent ages tonight uploading photos to Ph*t*bucket as it said I could get 50 free prints. After I'd uploaded the 50 photos, the next page was to put in my name and address in but it wouldn't let me type any more than my initial so I left it for a bit then went back. Then it said I had only uploaded 19 photos and then it said there was nothing there. Next it asked me to sign in again but my username and password were wrong. I gave up in the end. :swim-shark:

Very quiet in here but I suppose I am in early.

Joan, today hasn't been too bad but I am looking forward to the weekend. Hope you and Sue have had a good day.

Barbara, I'm glad you went to see about your foot. It sounds very painful. Hope it's not long before you get to see the foot person. The nurses would be going to see someone else if they didn't come to you so don't feel guilty. I like hot cross buns. I couldn't find any over Easter but T*sc* have them in now.

I can't believe the amount of ironing there is to do at work. So much for my boss and his wife doing some. At least one boy has gone back to uni so it should ease a bit. Can't believe the weather man has just said we are expecting snow tomorrow. What happened to :sunny:  :deckchair: :hammock:

Snow? Snow Christine? I hope not

I suspect your boss and wife haven't done any ironing. I think you ought to agree an amount of time you will iron for maybe?

Oh Barbara you poor thing :( Paul gets that plantar facitus (sp) due to standing on tip-toe at work.

VERY pleased to hear your hip is giving you now trouble at all :) Need for sorted so you don't strain your back ((()))

Hope the move is still on :? too scared to ask.

Tia was up and down the loft all morning for me and then I did 3 tip runs ;)

Joan I think it's reassuring that Sue's appointment hasn't come through quick. Should not be anything sinister.

Sorry to hear Christine's GD cried a little :( Charley cried every day until year 2!!! (6/7)

    She loved me!

Late evening to all, hope everyone is as good as can be.

Hope the arnica helped Barbara, (SBC also do a collagen gel to revive tired legs - I could bathe in that ). Worth a look as the range is extensive now and very good. We have a huge pump dispenser of collagen, nice and cooling on the face, takes years off you every time ( I might be fibbing a bit there).

Plantar Fasciitis is horrid, you have my sympathy, it damned well hurts. I was given gel heel inserts and arch supports for my shoes, by the Podiatrist, some years back, plus I use gel inserts in slippers, they are easy to swap and change. podiatry won't supply them now, due to cost cutting, but if you search on Ama+++ there are loads of similar things that can help. Bone spurs are horrid too. I have them in my neck and osteophytosis which is generally all over

I do keep our pharmacy going Joan, have a shipping order to pick up tomorrow. Takes a while to put it all in the cupboard. Still, it is required, or I would not be here, as one Dr told me.

After having the cleanest boiler award, I was having OCD's about the freezer, so, this morning I was armed with the steamer to attack the ice flow. OH did most, then I decided to get down and do the lower shelves, then I was stuck, on the kitchen floor. OH told me off and said I am only here in the next room, just shout and I will get down and do that. Anyway, I am paying for my efforts and have spent most of the afternoon in a Tramadol haze. Just now I am able to sit a while and write a little. Still, I am pleased it is done and dusted. There was washing a plenty, with all the cloths and towels you use to mop up the melting ice.

Snow, no more snow. We have a frosty week end forecast, so that will catch some out who have already bought bedding plants.

Hoping for scones tomorrow, if not, I will be forced to eat almond slices. :D

Right, I have sat long enough, time to potter along.

Everyone take lots of care XXXXX Bubbles

Can't remember if I told you about my podcast I'm listening to. "Home Front" is an ongoing drama about the First World War. Set in Folkstone, Tynemouth and Devon, and an episode was made for every day of the war, starting from 2014 - 2016. It is currently being broadcast on BBC 4Xtra. But I downloaded the omnibus edition and it is riveting.

Bubbles, shipping Oder! You must have more meds than I have.

Toni, my YS cried almost non stop until he was 3 months old. He was fully breast fed, and would never entertain a dummy. He has always been an intense young man, and still is.

It's my appointment on Monday. In some ways I'm looking forward to it. I'm wondering if I might have a bursa or two in my right hip/thigh and knee. So I hope she does a scan, and possibly drain it and inject it. Booked transport, ambulance and a wheelchair.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

    Afternoon all

hows this for treatment got a call this morning to go to the local hospital to have this foot looked at, they said they would fit me in because of having this THR and you have to keep moving..anyhow long story short ..had it x-rayed,, there are bony spurs but she thinks moist of the pain is from the ligaments..pushing and pulling my self off the bed in hospital..last time I could use my hands to drag myself..she has told me to ice it and gave me exercise's to do in between...I can't take antiinflams so she said use the cream..I am already doing this..so we shall see...I have to go back weds
bubbles thankyou for that I will have a look for the cream..just imagine none wrinkly feet.. and I will have a look for the gel inserts..anything to be honest..oh bless we are all guilty of overdoing things..I call it not giving in..hope you are not in touch much pain and have those feet up
Toni I dread seeing whats in out loft...you make sure help is always on hand..good for Tia..bet she enjoyed looking through the stuff..my youngest son was the same...he cried for weeks..
Christine Im sorry I missed the bit were your GD cried..bless her..its much harder on the adults..dont you let them keep upping the ironing..you do enough...you are right suppose the nurses would be going to someone else..do you know its cold enough for snow here...
my youngest son rang to say Niamh was going on at mum to take her to run and jump..its her day off nursery..so mum said wait till will have tidied up..she went upstairs to get something and heard mummy..when she got downstairs Niamh had mopped the kitchen floor..and it was spotless..they have one of the mops that whizzes round to dry it ..so she did that bit has well..she has had one test and has some form of autism. but quite mild at the min..apart from the throwing herself on the floor at the drop of an hat.. :o
Love to everyone..and there are lots of hotcross buns..but I warn you be quick..
Hello Joan just spotted you there..hope you both have a nice warm weekend..its freezing here..not long for Sue...x

Toni, I haven't seen any snow. Hopefully it will stay in the hills. My boss asked me to limit my ironing to 1 hour a day. They were supposed to do the rest but haven't. That's why the ironing pile is getting bigger. I don't mind ironing but don't have the time to do it all now. I'm wondering what Paul's job is with him standing on tip toe. There's only one thing I can think of. n025.gif

Bubbles, what are we like doing things we really should let others do for us. Sometimes it's worth it though. I bought some plants a couple of weeks ago but potted them up and have them in the porch for now. Hope you managed to get your scones today.

Kath, the podcast sounds interesting. I'm watching the one on tv now. Home Fires I think it's called. Hope it goes well on Monday.

Joan, the snow didn't appear. Must have landed on the hills instead. Sue's appointment isn't too far off now.

Barbara, that was brilliant getting you seen so quickly. At least you know what it is now. Hopefully the exercises and the cream will sort it out quickly. I'm only supposed to do 1 hour of ironing each day. That's why the pile is getting bigger. They are supposed to do the rest but don't. I think you're right. It can be more difficult for the adults when the little ones first start school. How lovely was that of Niamh mopping the floor for mum. Or did she have an alternative motive?

Today seemed so long. I felt starving at work. When I checked my watch to see if it was lunch time, it was only 11 am. I even checked the clock in the kitchen. By the time I left work, it felt as if it was teatime. I still had to go and visit my dad. It felt like bed time when I got home. I'm feeling a bit better now I've had a rest and knowing it's the weekend.

I found a postcard the other day. I'd got it off a friend when we were 15. She was on holiday in Spain. It said she was having a good time. The p.s. said I've been drinking (alcohol) all day. I had to laugh. It sounded as if she'd been so naughty.

SCONES WERE BACK - ooops, sorry, I was shouting then. Hope everyone as is ok as possible this week end, avoiding areas that have snow.
Thanks for the well wishes - I increased my Tramadol, to ease the back pain. As you say, it is a case of not giving in. I keep looking in the freezer and thinking how clean and ice free it is. We stocked up on some veggie meals ( I don't eat meat now). I was vegetarian for many years, then one day I just had to have a burger when I was holidaying in the USA.

We are having an at home week end, Brother in Law coming tomorrow, with wifey. In laws will be bringing cakes - more cakes. They did ask if we wanted to go to McD's, but it was a no from me and a no from OH, we just said pop in on your way back.

Then I received my letter from the Drs to arrange a blood test to update on my diabetes. I know it will be ok, my BM is normal every day, even with the treats. I will sort that next week when I pick up yet more pain killers.

Enjoy the blogs, Something I have never really looked at. There are many to see, just never got round to it. I will have to be noseying.

Lofts, no, I don't do lofts. We don't even have an access door to ours, as the roof pitch is very low. There is nothing up there but insulation, no water pipes etc.

Yes indeed Toni, I do remember. Extra T and much sympathy, it is beyond unpleasant - the noises my neck cracks and groans, make me jump sometimes. It would be nice to be able to turn round and look, when someone says, "look at that over there" - er, nope, cannot do, describe it to me. Let's trust that your neck will find its way back asap.

I will leave the medicine trolley unlocked - extra meds seem to be the order of the past week. Group hugs all round. :):)

We all need a week at a Thalasotherapy spa, lots of warm sea salt water and bubbles, to sooth aching and painful joints, take the weight off and float about in, then gentle warm stone massage. Right, wake up love and smell the coffee. It would be nice though :splash:

Hope you manage to rest up Christine, I know our bodies shout at us often and we feel like we must carry on, then we end up nearly flat on the floor. Take extra care xx

Glad to hear that your foot is easier Barbara. Naps are good, says me, the incurable insomniac.

Joan, I hope you and Sue have had a good weekend and there has been some sun for you.

Bubbles, my daughter became a vegetarian when she was 14. I didn't think it would last but she didn't eat meat till she was 36 and expecting her first baby. She was anaemic. My loft is boarded out like a small room. Everything goes up there but I've been trying to clear it in case I can't get up there at some point but somehow it keeps getting more and more full. I wish my neck wouldn't creak and groan as it does. What with those noises and the buzzing in my ear. :? The spa sounds wonderful, especially the floating about bit. I've only been pottering around this weekend so hopefully as fully charged, as I get these days, for work.

Barbara, I didn't manage to sleep any later but I've just been pottering today. My dad seemed quite cheery this week. Thanks for asking. Glad your foot is a little easier. Sounds as if you needed some extra sleep too. I used to have a blackbird who would come and shout at the back door for his dinner. I'm not sure he's around any more but think it might be his 2 sons I saw yesterday. Hope they tolerate each other.

Toni, your poor neck. I hope it eases off very soon. Don't worry about us. (((hugs)))

It was warm in the garden for a short while today so I weeded a few of the pots and tidied the strawberries. Then I made a plan of the garden and wrote on what plants were where so I know where to anything new I decide to get.

    late evening greetings, to all.

You are quite right Barbara, sometimes when dosed up on pain killers / receptor blockers and the whole kit and kaboodle, we all do things that we think, "oh that's easy", not realising that underneath the blanket of drugs, more trouble is lurking. What a pain in the proverbial. Glad you enjoyed watching the birds. We are blessed here, with so many wooded areas around, birds that I have never seen before, woodpeckers, tree creepers, crested finches, owls, buzzards, all manner of creatures.

Hope your neck has eased a little Toni, not sure if you have neuropathy with it, but if you do, you have all my sympathy with that too.

I noseyed at the cooking the other evening and thought, I will just move the lid off the steamer, well, crash bang, I had not felt the steam for a while, then I dropped the pan lid, OH saying what are you doing, step away from the cooker   Only a couple of burns. I said at least you know where I am, by all the things going flying.

When I win the lotto, we will all head off to a spa, without a doubt

In laws and OH Brother and his wife called in for a cuppa, bringing cakes with them, fondant fancies and lemon drizzle, well, it was rude not to eat some :D Then next door brought some cherry scones, so we are well equipped for treats.

Time to move and potter, the dryer is finished so I will check see, all the pots and pans are away !!

Had my appointment today. All I can say is HUH!!! I don't have a bursa!!! It's definitely sciatica. No pain killers will help but rheumy will write to GP about physiotherapy. Also arranging a DEXA scan. Otherwise stay as I am. I've lost half an inch.

Bit dull today, with a cold wind. Let's have some sun.

Hope Kath's appointment has gone well.

Its freezing here...what on earth has happened to the weather?

Dan has gone away again, this time to Devon for 4 days. I am being spoiled aren't I? Its same place as last year with horse riding and go karts and tree climbing so he will have fun.
BUT the transport didn't arrive this morning. The school had told them not to pick us and another child up as they were on a school trip but we had been told to contact transport if we were taken our own child in. Luckily OH could take him. But then he couldn't take Lucy so she went in later.
I'm happy to say she was much more relaxed and happier today.

So how is everyone? Some of you are missing Grand children I see. Put your feet up ladies and enjoy the peace and quiet.

    Anyone heard from Toady lately?

Oh yes rheummy is moving me onto rituximab. she could see things had got worse. Also bumped into one of previous school staff and she has now got RA. We had a good old chin wag.

Toni I can imagine Charley crying for you. Its so tough when they are not happy. Hope the move is still goig ahead. How was the holiday? Hope it was warmer where you were.

Hope Barbara's hip is improving. Have you noticed any benefit yet Barbara?
