Barbara I am shattered - Lucy has eaten her tea having a shower now and will go straight to bed - she has an exam tomorrow.

I'm a bit worried about the trolley code......Bubbles (AKA Aidan).

It's not nice lying flat with a heart condition or any respiratory one and backs HATE it! Ah well...

Joan I am over the moon Sue's mark is nothing serious - safety first eh :)

KathT it's all done now we join you in the 'check-up brigade' :) 5th May it is :)

Christine - Lucy thought it very funny getting an over 60's flyer. Yes £400 is terrible her friends get £10!!!! They haven't been ill. Wonder when it'll drop to normal???

I've never known a bus stop immediately you step forwards?? How odd!

Anyway A restful day tomorrow I hope :)

    Love to everyone

Joan, I hope Sue's skin damage has been sorted out for her. You can't leave anything outside these days can you?

Kath, not too long to wait till your appointment. Hope it goes well.

Bubbles, glad you didn't mention the weather. Same here with a few hailstones and a flurry of snow. :o I used to like that series On the Buses. That must be so annoying when people ignore you and talk to the person with you when you are in a wheelchair. Had to giggle imagining you sliding head first off the dentist chair and going under the cupboard. I'm sure we're all fine with it if you want to be Bubbles.

Barbara, all the good shops are closing. There was C&A a while back, then Woolies, now BHS. We all take out internet and tv etc. for granted these days. It seems strange that a bit of rain or wind can stop them from working.

Toni, I'm not surprised you are shattered. Just the emotions you've been through would take it out of you. Good luck in the exam tomorrow Lucy.

I'm quite tired today. Had to get up for the bathroom during the night and heard a cough from outside. I was pretty sure it was my next door neighbour but went in to the back bedroom and stood for ages looking through the blinds to see if I could see anything. Took a while to get back to sleep.

Well, it is late, again, as is normal for me. A chilly evening, feels frosty out.
I am sure the trolley will be ok with the new code, or we could use face recognition, second thoughts, it would not know me first thing in the morning so forget that :lol::lol:

You will be so shattered Toni, rest well tonight and lots of success for the exam tomorrow Lucy. Emotional days are very tiring indeed, as we all know.

Laying flat is a definite NO GO. Every time I go see my Cardiologist I am like an ill sitting hen until the couch is set at the right angle. Then he says, "ok now" --"well, no, but let's get on with the ECG" It was like being on an inversion table at the dentist, I nearly had kittens.

Where was I? Oh, noises in the night, I am not surprised it took a while to get back to sleep. It was my turn for a better night, the cats were settled and are not up for adoption today. Hope all is quiet tonight for you.

I used to like BHS, in fact I had a Saturday job at the one in Nottingham, just folding jumpers and cardigans and such, nothing too inspiring, that is a lonnng time ago now. 1978 ish eeek. I liked C and A as well. Never really bothered much with Woolies, but it was a shame when they closed. Jessops was my fav place, it always seemed very posh. Tea and cakes, in the smoking section, lol.

time I was pottering. My fingers are slowing down, I was getting quite worried when I had a so called nap earlier, just how little I can feel. Not a lot one can do. I will spray bleach around in the kitchen, that will make me feel better

Sorry Aiden Poldark it was probably me that rifled through the jumpers in bhs used to love a good rummage.
Just a warning to newbies to the cafe please don't interfere with the bottles and jars at the back of the under stairs cupboard they are brewing the potion for this years Halloween.
Off for chest X-ray this morning coughs nearly gone now so I feel a bit happier.
We had snow, hail, rain and sunshine yesterday, the Suns shinning now but it's very cold.
We use World First for travel insurance costs us about £500 for a year for travel within Europe not bad considering hubbies stroke and by-pass surgery.

bubbles so you had a Saturday job at BHS...I always wanted to work in a clothes shop but did everything but..you be careful with the bleach dont want you over doing things.. Im the same with the kills 99% germ thingy..my house feels nice and clean
Mig good luck with the xray..I had one when I was coughing with these sinuses..its good they do them..so you are already brewing...thought there was a funny smell...there is only one place that will insure me online because of this back..if they hadn't offered me surgery I could get it form most places..

Thanks to all who are joining me on the 5th. Bubbles I will need help when they weigh and measure me. As I seem permanently bent over you can give me a kick up the derrière to make me stand upright. hahahah.

Joan, you and Sue will have to get q big straw hat each to protect your skin.

My Saturday job - way back in 1966 - was in a family run bakers. Yummy cakes and fresh baked bread rolls with ham off the bone. I was official tea maker on Saturdays. The gas ring was in the bread proving oven and sometimes we were so busy I forgot it and burned a hole in the bottom of the kettle. We got through a lot of kettles when I was there. :?

Snow, lots of it, sun, rain, wind, cold, more sun.............that's it, every weather you can think of for today.
Brewing for mischief night, mmmmmmm, hope it doesn't get too gassy in the cupboard, methane is very dangerous, so I won't light a cig near there. g015.gif:lol: So it was you mig, that ransacked the jumpers, used to drive me nuts, lol. Hope all is ok with the X ray

Sorry about your sad news Barbara, as you say, it is still a shock, even when someone has been poorly. sending hugs xx

I don't think I could get my leg up to kick you up the backside Kath, even if I tried, I would fall backwards

The menu looks wonderful as always, I will take it all, ta. :)

Went out for lunch, it was packed, just managed to get a table. Home battered plaice goujons, with chips and mushy peas, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Two coffee's, two tea's, one sparkling water, I was nearly drowning. All very nice. It was really cold, then we had a blizzard as we arrived home, so turned heating up, now sun is out and I am going through the change :too-hot: !!

Pill time, again, so will potter along. Need to move, too much sitting does no favours at ALL. Take care XXXX Bubbles

Well I have missed a lot haven't I...one of you has now become a he..at least my pictured image has.

I've had so much stress....My D has struggled to return to school but is slowly getting there and the school have be amazing but it has caused me a lot of heartache at times.

Lovely news that Lucy is now officially off the chemo. It has been a daunting couple of years and one that must've tested the family to the limit. I don't think I'd have coped as well as you Toni.

Thank you Dan did arrive safely home and nothing was missing.

Christine we have tons of shower gels in our shower as we all like different brands. But my supply has almost gone whereas the male section is full of choices.

So last year we had a couple of fatal stabbings in our area and one boy was a special needs boy at a local school (not Daniels but our paths have crossed at clubs). I'm pleased to see that his murderer has been given life.It was such a pointless loss of life. RIP Alfie.

I'm also angry about your chargers Joan. They went to all that effort to climb a fence to make someones life difficult. If only they could have put the same effort into doing something useful.

Barbara hope your hip is still improving and you fel better ow.

    Take care

Bubbles, my Saturday job was in Boyes keeping the ladies underwear tidy. That was in 1971/72. Many many many moons ago.

Ah, Mig, I wondered what that evil smelling scent was. Glad the cough is clearing up. Hope the x-ray was clear.

Barbara, I am so sorry to hear about your granddaughter's grandma. It's still a shock even if it is expected. They will be devastated. (((hugs))) Hope you got in ok for your bloods today.

Joan, I remember my dad telling me many years ago that the doctor told him he had to start adding sugar to his tea as it was bad for him not to have sugar. Hope you didn't need any work doing at the dentist. I have a few brown sun damage marks on my face. I always wear sun screen and a hat when I'm gardening. I used to lie out in the sun for hours without screen when I was a teenager. Like you say, we didn't know any better back then.

Kath, I've not been to Italy but my boss's mum is Italian and his sister and her Italian chef husband make Italian foods which my boss sells for them. I only used to know pasta and pizza but have tasted other things and they are delicious. I think I'd love everything on your menu. Don't know what to choose. Might need to dip in to everything. I worked in a family bakers about 20 years ago. That's when I put on most of my extra weight. That and the job before in a fish and chip shop.

Toni, I hope Lucy's exam went well.

Elizabeth, you sneaked in while I was typing. Good to see you. I'm glad your daughter is managing to start getting back in to school. Oh my goodness, two stabbings nearby. How shocking. Hope they put the culprit away for good. Was it the same person who committed both murders? If not, I hope they catch the other one soon.

Considering I had a whole day and had planned to get things done around the house, I have wandered round from room to room thinking I'll get that done and move this and sort that out....... and haven't actually done much of it. Did have a chat with my daughter as it's my GS's 5th birthday today. And I got to sing happy birthday to him. It's coming in to winter over there but they are still all wearing t-shirts on the beach. Think someone's got the weather back to front. Been hailing here again. An inch of snow about 6 miles away.

Hi Christine. Happy Birthday to your GS. I do love Italian food and of course the scooters.

One stabbing was at a pub and he has not been caught although they know his name and the other was an arguement over some pasta but loads of people were about at the time so she was soon caught. The culprit is a mother herself!

sorry to be so glum :(

Hello Toni I've missed so much. How is the house sale? I'm sure Lucy has plenty of admirers.

Sorry Barbara I didn't see about your GD's Gradmother. I am sorry.

Elizabeth, lovely to see you back. sounds as though some really unpleasant things have been going on.

Barbara, I love your idea of having a picnic on 5th. I might put a nice bottle of red in my bag. Its only a scan, after all. Would it go down well with morphine?

OOOh Toni, how exciting. Lucy deserves something good to happen after all she has been through.

Christine, a fish and chip shop. Now that's a Saturday job worth having. :D

I've been quite cold today, but just eaten half a dozen ginger crunch biscuits so feeling a bit warmer. Gingers are my favourite biscuits, followed quickly by jaffas.

I think we're voting on 5th here?? Or are we??? easily confused me ;) I will still find time to join you all for a picnic though of course :)

Sadly Kath Lucy didn't like this eon so he has been kicked into touch ;)

    Elizabeth
horrible stories and one being a Mum herself? SHOCKING!!!

The house sale is still going through as far as I know all is well. Had a load more paperwork to fill in yesterday for solicitor. It's really very stressful isn't it?

But it feels like a new start after the cancer if you know what I mean?

    Barbara
I would think it's recovering from the op making it harder for you to concentrate hence not finishing your jewellery.

I am still feeling very exhausted and my knees have decided to shout at me too. I hope it doesn't hit me :?

    Anyone seen Matron and Christine?

Matron is here Dears. Thank you for asking. As I write with the rain absolutely pouring down the windows that were cleaned TWO WEEKS AGO, sorry, I was shouting. I always say to the window cleaner, it will rain, as soon as you are gone. It does.

Anyway, I digress, hope everyone is as ok as possible.

Paperwork and house sales seem to be endless nowadays, I am sure it was easier many years back. Now, with litigation being rife, every T is crossed and i dotted, twice..........

Picnic time it is then, on the 5th. Morphine and red wine, erm, well, just a drop won't do much harm :D I will bring the portable medicine chest, just in case. Are we going on the coach, if so I will take some anti billious medicines. Hope things continue to improve Barbara. Patience wears thin sometimes, without a doubt.
I nearly clouted a man with one of my crutches the other day, I was walking through a door, which he had held open and he said, "well done, carry on". I growled "I will do, don't worry"

Maybe I am getting the grumps.

Managed some ironing (thank goodness for steam generators). Mind you I am lathered now.

Big oops this morning, getting ready to go round to in laws, to go for coffee and then shop. Auntie rang, everything still ok for this morning.......................erm, no, oh, we forgot, very sorry..........we were supposed to be miles away, having a coffee with them.........all re scheduled now and huge apologies.

Pills, potter, feed cats, then it will be nap time. Snow forecast for later on, we are certainly having all the weather, all at once.

Toni, I replied to your other post but probably the last one as you said you wanted to close it now. I'm not surprised you needed to recover. I'm glad Lucy has done ok in her exam. I'll look forward to hearing of a blossoming romance (that is if Lucy is interested). Oh, just read your next post and it's a no-go. There are plenty more to choose from. We are voting here on 5th so I'm sure you will be the same.

Elizabeth, my boss's logo for the business is a scooter. How shocking that it was a mum. Hope they catch the other one too.

Barbara, I know exactly what you mean. It's like working all day then coming home to work. I'm sure the weather is the wrong way round. I've suggested to my daughter that we swap but she won't. Hope you do manage to get to the funeral.

Kath, I'm sure a glass of red will show things up better on the scan. I like anything ginger.

Bubbles, I get quite grumpy at times when people say or do the wrong thing. Oopsey-daisey, hope the in-laws were ok with the rearranging.

Mig, so sorry to hear about your neighbour. She is obviously going to be very much missed.

Yesterday, someone who lives not too far from me posted a message on FB saying her pet crow had gone missing. She found him nearly a year ago when he had fallen out of his nest and broken his leg. He had apparently been attacked recently by another crow and lost his tail feathers so can't fly. Lots of people, including me, have been out looking for him but haven't seen him. It was a quiet day today at work as there was no-one there but me.

Glad you had a lovely lunch Mig, sounds very nice indeed. Then to hear such sad news about your neighbour Valma has passed away. Life goes from one extreme to another in a flash, very sad indeed.

You were out too Barbara, it is lunches all round :) I don't mind, Aidan or Bubbles, which doesn't answer your question., sorry. Aidan will be just fine.

We all need a diary, the missed lunch with Aunt and Uncle was one thing that was not on the phone diary, after getting a new phone a month ago. I knew we were due soon and was going to ring them tonight. Too late. Will have to take some lovely flowers when we see them in a couple weeks time.

We had a big thunderstorm around 6 ish, just as I was going for a nap. Hail, snow, high winds -

Just a few things to be done in the morning, pick up px, nip into vets, go Sainsbu""", no coffee's out, enough for this week. Then we will have a week end indoors and I can potter to my hearts content, cloth in hand. :D

Take care all, keep warm, XXX Aidan
XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).
