I just missed you then Kath -
I am SO pleased you have had a really good day, may they continue, wonderful news.
You are being brave and why not, one stick and one ambulance man or lady, will be fine I am sure.
Hope the bloods come back ok too. The meds seem to be working, which is great, I am made up for you.
Take care, XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Evening everyone.
Had a pretty good day at work today apart from getting into a fight with Southeastern trains when their new contactless cards didn't work. Joints are a little sore but hey ho, that is par for the course.
Kath, hope your visit to the nurse goes well and you manage with just your walking stick and that tomorrow is another good day.

Hi everyone
sorry this will be quick, but we're all exhausted after today.
I didn't see you but heard you under that cloak
Joan's doggies were there as well as Aidan's 3 Tom and Jerry and even daisycat - yes 7 Joan!!!
Found the hospital easily Lucy had xrays then saw Doc.
Manchester consultant said:
He does not recommend a donor bone. Says it's very experimental. He would do a shoulder replacement straight away and thinks she has waited far too long as it is. The fact that her joint has collapsed means it will start to wear the socket if it hasn't already. Her muscles and tendons etc are all wasting too
She must face the truth that she will be having regular operations on her shoulder for the rest of her life. He thinks they will last between 10 and 15 years.
I hope that makes sense.
I had a text from Barbara wishing us luck as her router hasn't yet arrived so she's ok.
Kath you are doing great
Aidan - I totally understand how it is when someone is seriously ill ((()))
Hi to Kerrin home now I hope and recovered.
Hope Carol is ok and of course Elizabeth and mig is still sleeping ok
Love

Just a quickie post will post a longer one tomorrow
but I would like to announce the arrival of my second great granddaughter Graycie-Mai Ivy Kavanagh-Taylor born at 9.20am today weighing 7lb. 9ozs a Sister for no 1 great granddaughter Lillie-Rose. I am a very very happy bunny tonight . :P :P :P
Love to you allStay positive always👍xx0 -
Sorry you had a fight with the train systems Kerrin. Sore joints are indeed an ongoing problem, be they not too bad, or down right agonising. Arthur is an unwelcome companion and tends to appear in one guise or another, when you least expect it.
You will soon be off on your holidays, exciting, but a long flight too, you are braver than I.
I am sure you are exhausted Toni, all of you.
See, I was invisible, but I was there All pets included too, which was comforting to us all. No fights ensued.
The Consultants thinkings makes sense, the time to operate being as soon as possible, before sockets are worn further.
Once done, then the physio's will get to work on the muscles and tendons. It is a lot to take in, that you need it all repeating every 10-15 years, but each time, the muscles and tendons will be stronger and more able to cope with the operation. It sounds a more positive approach. How does Lucy feel about it, did the Consultant make you all feel at ease, confident etc?
Many hugs to all, fusses to Miss Slimkins.
Thank you for letting us know that Barbara is ok, routerless, but ok.
It's horrid isn't it, when someone is so ill. Thank you for the hugs.
congratulations Carol, party time XX 8) 8) I bet you are one happy bunny indeed. Hope Mother and Graycie Mai ( what a lovely name ) are doing well. Made up for you, truly. We must have a little party, I will order some extra cakes, of all descriptions.
Right, on that note, I will away. Off out for lunch with mum n dad today. It's all go ...................
Everyone take lots of care XXXX love to all XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Morning everyone from me and Minxie (aka Jerry) Looks like my sleeping through to the alarm was short lived and back to waking up at 4am today!
Congratulations Carol, enjoy every moment with your new great grand daughter.
Hope all works out for Lucy and her shoulder. Tom and Jerry were honoured to be under the cloak although I'm sure Jerry kept popping her head out. We don't call her Minxie for nothing.
Yes, only 4 more school days till my holiday. Can't wait although I bet it will be 4 busy days as two of our senior teachers are off on their holidays early. Today I'm taking the choir to sing at The Southbank, then back into school for rehearsals for tomorrow's Christmas play. Not totally sure how I ended up with the choir gig as my job is sport. I seem to have a sore ear this morning, hope it's better by Sat as flying with earache is not fun. Don't think swimming is the best for ears but it's the best way for me to keep fit.
Till later, have a good (as pain free as possible) day everyone.

Carol, what a beautiful name for your great grand daughter. My late mum was called Grace.
Aidan, I knew you were under the cloak - scone crumbs gave you away, Puss cats and doggies all gave me a good cuddle.
Oh Toni, I'm so sorry about brave, beautiful Lucy.
Rant time. The DN didn't turn up for my blood test. Reached 11am (I was starving). Rang his mobile - switched off) Rang the office. He's on leave, the have arranged another DN to come out tomorrow. Pity they didn't tell me!!
Another morning without my toast and marmite. :?

Good afternoon all
thought Id pop in for a cuppa and one or two {even though its naughty} of Aidens party cakes after a really good day yesterday.
after hearing of the birth of our gorgeous new baby great granddaughter Graycie-Mai yesterday morning last Night mr turbo a me went to a school Christmas carol performance by the schoolchildren of the school who use our church building during the week it was a fantastic performance really enjoyable. with excellent acting and singing by the children.
if anyone wants a stinking head cold then they are welcome to mine as I don't really want it. still at least it has stayed mainly in my nose and I don't feel ill so it had better stay that way.
well I am out again tonight at my slimming world group for this weeks weigh in and we are all taking some suitable foodstuffs for all to enjoy for our little Christmas party. so no time at the moment to be ill  and now its off to make my contribution a salmon pate.
I may pop back in later after I get home
love to all for nowStay positive always👍xx0 -
My post froze again. Can't do a thing with it. I thought it had been fixed. Just a quick one now as I need to get to bed.
Congratulations Carol on the birth of your new great granddaughter.
Toni, doesn't sound as if that's what you wanted to hear but hopefully things are moving forward again for Lucy.
Hello to everyone else. Hope you are all doing ok. Will write more tomorrow. Take care.Christine0 -
Thank you all for you congratulations on the birth of Graycie-Mai I understand from what I have been told mum and baby are doing fine and returned home last night. big sister Lillie-rose absolutely loves her and I received some beautiful pictures of them together on facebook which is my way of keeping in touch with them all. cannot stop looking at them as I have transferred some onto my laptop.
Kathleen I too love her name and both of them have my mums middle names as their middle names which I love .
The only bad thing about today was that I gained 2lb at my weigh in tonight now only 1lb below the top end of my target but at least I am still in my target range so not that bad I suppose.
Now want Christmas over and done with so that I will then be going down Margate to see my adorable great granddaughters and my much loved grandchildren.
Thank you Applerose
new year countdown smiley xStay positive always👍xx0 -
Morning everyone
Kathleen, Sorry to hear things didn't go to plan yesterday. Hope it happens today.
Margate is down my neck of the woods, or an hour down the road. I live near Rochester.
Good day yesterday, the choir performance was lovely. Today is our dress rehearsal and Christmas production at school as well as Christmas lunch so all go. And the ole fingers are pretty sore.

Morning All
Carol I bet you can't stop looking at Graycie-Mai isn't life such a miracle? I am glad they are home and you will see them soon.
The Christmas Carol service sounded just wonderful too - your hearts must have been so full
As for the extra 2lb you can soon shift that - you've done it before!
Christine not good posts still freezing is it?
Not the best news, but at least he can do something and really sooner rather than later. Because she's off college could be VERY soon.
I hope your computer lets you write today.
Kath thank you the animals were really well-behaved weren't they? even when scone crumbs fell on the floor They shared very nicely.
I am so sorry about the DN nurse not coming!! I can't count the number of times Lucy was Nil by mouth in hospital for a procedure that in the end couldn't happen for one reason or another ::)
Thank you I think she will go ahead and be as brave as ever.
Barbara it would be great if the op can go ahead soon and just take the pain away for her. They are looking into whether I can stay with Lucy because she will be scared as well as one or two other questions I thought about since. For instance can she still have the allograft in future if it becomes available - say in 15 years time.
Love to you hope all is well ((())
Hi Joan thank you I know I can count on you all to back us up ((())
Kerrin I think I saw Minxie peep out from under the cloak because I thought she was Daisycat (Daisy is part-tabby).
What a busy time for you leading up to the Christmas holidays x:shock:
Aidan yes you are right we must go ahead asap, but one or two things to sort first. Must ensure epilepsy is WELL controlled one seizure could dislocate it in the early days x:? apparently.....
See Dr Tim and neurology if poss ASAP...etc etc....
After that it will be down to Lucy to work hard to get it back as mobile as possible. She will I am sure
She is motivated!
I hope all is well with Pepe and the others as well as Mum and Dad?
Daisycat went missing for hours last night...I was calling and calling....then I spotted the broomstick was missing Miss Slimkins was with hPepe doing circat training!!
Love to everyone

OOHH Joan, marmite and banana sounds tasty - yummy.
Thankfully the DN came and blood test taken."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Oh, a SANTA santa
Afternoon to one and all, hope everyone is as ok as can be. A brighter day, after what seems a very grey spell of weather.
Oh dear Kerrin, awake at 4am. Not so good, mind you, I am often awake at that time if the puskins are messing about.
Hope Tom and Jerry are both ok.
I am sure it will be busy, coming up to the Christmas Holidays, with plays and carols and all the excitement that end of term brings. You will need a good rest and then some. Swimming is very good, take care, not too much water in those ears and I hope it is feeling better before Saturday.
Hi Joan, we did enjoy our meal, thank you. Although we walked away and forgot to pay big oooops. They have their card machine in the second room, so as they know us well, I said, give me the slip and I will pay on the way round. After we had driven off, I said "OH MY, I forgot to pay" quick U turn and oh went in and paid, they laughed and said it didn't matter, we could wait till next time. Bless, they are lovely.
Hope you and Sue are doing ok and love to the doggies too.
Still no router, oh dear Barbara, I think I should ring talktalk for you, I am used to having big do's with them in the past. Then you lost all your writing, oh, even worse. I think extra cake is in order, to get over the shock.
As long as we know you are ok, even if your router and copy / paste is playing up.
Yes, Kath, the crumbs would certainly give me away, I get them everywhere, we need a vacuum under there. I don't blame you for having a tantrum - nothing worse than waiting for someone who has arranged to come out, plus fasting as well, for the bloods. Then to have to come out again................Toast and marmite, mmmm, lovely. Extra slices for Kath I think.
Sorry your day was not as good, but, that's the way of arthur isn't it, we might feel ok ish one day, better the next, then floored the day after. Consistency is not something we seem to have. Extra hugs (((((((())))))))))
You help yourself to as many cakes as possible Carol, none of them contain calories, they are free foods.
I am glad you enjoyed the Christmas carol performance, a perfect end to the day.
No, I will pass on the cold, thanks all the same x:shock: So many people get colds and the like, over Christmas, maybe all the stresses and strains, weaken's the immune system a bit. Hope it goes very soon.
You have done really well with Slimming world and loosing the weight that you wanted to, only a lb off your target, that's fine, don't worry about those little up's and down's. I am sure you can have some nice treats over the holidays.
Christmas will soon be here and gone in a flash, then you can go see all the family in Margate, beside the sea. It has a lovely harbour if I remember rightly.
Hi Toni - Rudolph and Santa, doing some jiggy dancing, or twerking do they call it. The so money supermarket advert always makes me laugh.
You do right making sure that the i's have dots and t's have crosses, with regards the operation for Lucy. Yes, the epilepsy would need to be very well controlled indeed. We would not want any work undone. She is so brave, I admire her strength and courage.
So miss Daisycat said it was circuit training, right, ok - I won't say anything, there was munching on cured chicken breast from Mark's, so jaws were working well. After that, there was grooming, which is quite tiring, then she was off like a shot.
I was going to post last night, but I had serious tooth ache, a loose tooth, pain was intense, face swollen, so I was out of it on Tramadol. I am off to the dentist tomorrow, I think it will have to come out. It is not as bad today, but if I leave it, it will only start again and I don't want that over Christmas.
We were going to Skipton anyway, so I rang and said please fit me in. They are very good, I have been going there for 25 years now. If anyone is around to pop under the cloak, just to make sure there is plenty of lidocaine being given. Then we can go to Nero's and I can drool my coffee all over
I normally have about 4-5 injections, just to make sure. As you can imagine, I am watching everything like a hawk, lol. He knows that though and keeps things out of my eye line.
Right, pills all round, time to potter. Everyone take lots of care. Hope Mig is having a great time. Love to Elizabeth, Christine and all. XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Hello all new here, but guess what I now think it was don to the windows 10 update..if you google it many have had trouble ..apparently the comp doesn't recognize the ips..think thats right so it has to be restarted and entered manually ..tried it ok for now...
Carol what a lovely name Graycie-Mai..I adore new babies the very smell of them..hope you get a cuddle soon...
Kerrin I usually wake at 4ish and then 6...glad to hear you enjoyed the choir and good luck with the rehearsals...bet its manic...
Toni I can imagine there are lots of questions its such a big thing..I am sure they would let you stay with Lucy ...will you get another meeting with the surgeon...take a long list with you...Lucy deserves a break and fingers crossed it will come soon
Joan thanks ..the router is here but like I have said it could be the updates that have messed things up..hope you are both ok ..any news on your test yet
Kath..that is awful when you are fasting ..I hope they turn up next time or at least let you know..sorry if you have already said but I am reading and going off memory... x:?

And there you are Barbara, posting at the similar times.
Yes, you are right, some of the win 10 updates, especially the so called "anniversary" update, which was the big one, not so long ago, have caused a lot of problems. I remember OH saying something about having to enter the IP address. I glazed over, but he knew what he was talking about, which is all that matters, lol
I have no idea why things flare up at the most inconvenient times. I don't mind the needles, he is very good at keeping it behind his back, knowing that I have eyes like a chameleon. :? His dental nurse who has been there for years, is totally like the duracell bunny, she is mad as a box of wasps (but very good at her job). She will drag me in, while OH natters to our friend who works on reception.
It does get dark by 4, curtains are drawn early, OH loves dark nights and closing curtains early. We leave a gap in the middle, as we have lights in large mercury glass vases, that are on a timers, twinkling away from 5 till 11, nice to see them.
OK, T and biscuits. Then nap time. XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Evening all. Busy day survived. The performance at school was very good and as usual kids pulled it out when they needed to. Just wish the parents would turn up on time to watch! Tomorrow I have to cover a class in the morning and Christmas parties in the afternoon. Then the final match in the football league after school. Phew.
Hope you get the tooth sorted Aidan. Nothing worse than toothache.
Toni, I think Daisycat and Jerry would get on very well. Tom would just watch their antics.
Thumbs crossed that the router is sorted soon.
Time to go, almost at my station and I've been tasked with picking up pizza on way home as OH who normally cooks has had a long day at work.

I couldn't read all the way back...sorry...so much to read and so little time.
Thank you for the info on the FILA page Aidan. I've not found the exact same one but close. The shrunken one is hidden under a pile of clothes under my chair incase I get told off.
Yep the Chinese and Dog cruelty go hand-in-hand and I blub a lot too but I did send a donation to some who intercept the lorries carrying the dogs, rescue and house them, and I know of 2 greyhounds from one lorry who were rescued and then flown back to the UK to safety. The money to fly them home was raised online. I vow not to buy anything from China but got caught out on the 'big online shop' despite Lucy and I searching the info for details of where the goods came from. Postage was a fiver so we came to the conclusion that it couldn't be China...but it was. Hopefully no more.
And thank you for the photo of Barry Evans Aidan.
The meal was lovely. I got a seat in the middle which means I got to chat to everybody. Starter of hot prawns was gorgeous, turkey dinner and strawberry cheese cake and coffee!
Respite day today..he'll be home soon (a bit later today than usual).
Mega mega tired, its ridiculous. Hospital with Lucy tomorrow for 2 appointments, and she's been unwell again last 2 weeks but has been to school on some of the days. Actually its good that they can see her when unwell.
No tree up yet and loads of pressies still to buy but I'm struggling to get in the mood. Not going to spend a lot this year for a change.
Has baby been born? Gracie-mai is a gorgeous name.
oops they are home

Thank you Christine Joanand Mods and anyone I have not mentioned for you congratulation messages I now keep getting pictures coming through on my facebook page.
Toni I plan to go for a visit as soon after Christmas as I can need to arrange with my daughter or sister to see if I can stay with one or the other of them for a few days so that I get to spend some quality time with the 3 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters and mums and dads and also my sister a brother-in-law as I only usually see them about twice a year so like to make the most of time i'm down there. and yes the Christmas concert was brilliant it really rounded up a great day.
Aiden I love Calorie free cakes yummy. yes the Carol concert really did round off a brilliant day that was until I left my reading glasses in the church so am at the moment using my old ones until the weekend and I can retrieve them silly me. x:roll: x:roll: my nose was so blocked today I brought some Vick Sinex spray since using it a lunch time I keep having bouts of sneezing.
Barbara I too love the smell of new baby's and hopefully I will get my cuddle soon after Christmas so not long at all.Stay positive always👍xx0 -
Kerrin, you have a busy day coming up, sending lots of strength your way, to help you get through.
Hope you enjoyed the pizza, it is ages since we had one..........mmmmm, might have to get one from Mark's, or would it be too much for my gum after tooth outing. Will see.
You are welcome Elizabeth, glad you found a top that was almost the same and a good idea to keep the other one well hidden - deny all knowledge of it :?
I know what you mean about not buying things from China, but it is almost impossible. Freezer zip bags, from Tes--- looked on the label when at home Made in China. Can we not make plastic bags in England? Crazy daft. It is always heartwarming when you hear of animals being rescued and taken into loving homes, away from wanton cruelty.
You meal out sounded lovely and sitting in the middle you had the chance to chatter to everyone.
Hope you had a bit of rest and some time to yourself. I had better send you some extra energy too, with a busy day coming up. I hope Lucy is feeling better very soon.
We still have some things to get, vouchers and a few presents. Will try and get that done today, after my dentist has wrestled with my teeth. :?
Carol, your excitement is tangible, I am sure you will have such a lovely time visiting all your family and grandchildren and your new G Granddaughter.
right, another tramadol, zopiclone and that will be me out for the count. Up early, to get to Skipton in time for appointment.
Take care XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0
