So glad you had a lovely time, despite the traffic. Travels, concerts, visiting Aunts, presents, shopping Friday (good luck). You enjoy your lazy week end and a Happy Christmas to you too hun. Watch the winds this week, Barbara is on the rampage. x:shock: :winter-storm: XX Aidan

    Evening all.

Merry Christmas Mig, sounds like you had a good time.

Another relaxing day down South. A swim, walk, cross stitching and afternoon nap. Supposed to be warmer tomorrow, heatwave for most of the country, 45c where my brother lives eek, luckily a cool 26c here.

Hope your parcel arrived safely Toni.

    Hi all
hope you have all had a good day I spent the afternoon at my knitting group mind you we all spent a lot of time chatting rather than knitting well it is Christmas week I only managed 2 rows of knitting in 2 hours and I think most of the others were the same. but it was a good afternoon.

tomorrow is hunting down a Christmas present for Mr Turbo and a few small gifts for our Christmas tree. I need to go a bit further than our local high street for these though.

Yes Aiden forms filled in and sent took all of 10 mins to fill them in and a walk to the top of our road by Mr T to post them. They are very easy to fill in all they ask for is .1 your current name
2 what you want to change it to
    3 your date of birth
    4 your address.
    5 e-mail address if you have 1.
    6 your telephone number

Carol Service was ok despite the gremlins.

And its now 14 days to the hugs and cuddles its ok my mind is in countdown mode now date is organised. x:roll: its certain going to be a new year countdown smiley for well to start with anyway.
    Stay positive always👍xx

Well, it is morning now, so a very early morning to one and all.

45 degrees, oh my goodness Kerrin, that is like, really hot. I remember it from travelling in Arizona. 26 is hot enough. We need to send Barbara over to blow some wind and rain, to cool the heatwave.
A swim, walk, some stitching and a nap, sounds lovely. Enjoy. Keep cool, while we keep warm :winter-storm:

Carol, the knitting group sounds like a great meeting place, chatting is most important and doing two rows is fine. As long as everyone enjoyed it, that's all that matters.
Hunting for Mr T, is he difficult to buy for? Gadgets, gizmo's etc. Happy hunting, I hope it is not too chaotic when you are out and about.
The forms sound very simple to do, hope they come back asap, not counting all the Bank Holidays.
I imagine you are very much on countdown to cuddles. It will be a lovely welcome to the New Year.

I hope everyone else is as ok as possible. Did the parcel arrive Toni? More shopping per chance? No sign of Diddicat and with the coming storm Barbara, we are now in a no broomstick flying zone, until Monday. Pepe is far to sleepy at the moment. In fact all three are pretty quiet and dreamy. It's a hard life.

Barbara hope you are ok and than Niamh is feeling better. Your storm is well on the way across the Atlantic.

Kath, I trust you are recovered from your expeditions down the high street, all ready for the next one :)

Christine, your family will soon be there to enjoy Christmas.
Elizabeth, did you manage to find presents for Dan. Hope you are not to tired.

Joan, I hope you and Sue are both ok, is Sue home now? Warm hugs and fusses to the doggies. Take care in the wild weather.

We have done just about all the shopping that we can. Coffee and cakes at Nero's first, of course. Nice card from the staff plus free coffee.
Then to Tes--- for Bits. Then to Mark's where we have bought enough food to feed the street - why? I do not know. The bill, well, g010.gif
Yes, even with £6 off, I nearly had the vapours.

The fridge is groaning, my wallet is moaning, my joints are shouting, but, it is Christmas after all :?

Out for lunch today, Nephew, his wife and kiddies are coming over to bring presents, so they thought it would be nice to meet up at the garden center for lunch, which it will be, all 8 of us. Picking Mum n Dad up en route, which is not hard when we live 5 doors away, lol.
That will take up most of the day I would think. Mum will have had enough by afternoon time and they never over stay, because of the young ones, 5 and 3.
We might get water, tonic and a few bits on Friday, it will be manic I know and I just LOVE standing in a queue.

Right, it is late, almost time for night pills, T and bed. Just in time for all the cats to wake up and start messing about.

Everyone take lots of care. XXXX Aidan

Diddicat has been skyping yes skyping Pepe and the girls. She has informed me that she's not allowed out on the broomstick until 'Barbara' has been and gone :(

Says diet is off and Christmas tuna is on.

Aidan I am glad that most of the shopping is done - I think mine is too, but veggies maybe this afternoon, maybe tomorrow. I have to go to Paul's work Christmas 'do' today at lunchtime, but be back in time for telephone consultation at 5.20...probably 6.20 really.

I hope you have a good lunch with nephew kids and Mum and Dad. She is doing so well ((())).

Lucy's new phone arrived yesterday that's what I was waiting for, but not until about 4.30 by which time visitors had also arrived x:roll:

Carol what a great idea a knitting group. Younger people are getting into knitting too now and crochet aren't they? Such a good thing to do mentally :)

I love the idea of counting down to cuddles :) Will you be allowed to post us a photo??

Thanks Kerrin parcel arrived safely - I am pleased you only have 26 degrees unlike your bro. We have a ground-frost here. you know what it's like in the country :)

Thank you the parcel - Lucy's new iPhone arrived safely and was set up by Charley. She has been saving it's a 7plus. VEEY swish in rose gold x:D

Merry Merry Christmas to you too mig - I hope you enjoy all your activities and then a nice restful weekend ((()) santa

Any news on Sue coming home Joan? I do hope she hurries up getting better she must be desperate to go home x:( ((())
I bet you both used to trick people on purpose when you were kids ;)
Thank you Christine Elna did have some useful tips, though I think her surgery is not yet done. She was the person who 'looked after' me when I first joined the forum x:)

I cannot say I blame you returning the pony castle and getting it cheaper elsewhere. They must make a fortune out of us lot :(

Glad the computer is now running ok. I have worn out my keys on the keypad - well some of them...any ideas?

I am trying to upload a photo of Daisycat ('lost') yesterday but really hiding on Lucy's bed made up in the basement for any extra visitors :)

    th_20161221_172446.jpg

    there she is!

This one is for Elizabeth because she's like me and loves fires. You can see Daisycat's stocking on the left and charley's cat's on the right x:oops:

    th_20161219_221437.jpg

I hope you haven't caught the sickness bug Elizabeth and are well?

Really hope Dan's present is now sorted out x:?

Barbara you have been very busy blowing up a storm!!! Bet they don't ever do a storm Toni ;)

I hope you have managed to get everything done for Christmas and the router is behaving now?

Is Niamh ok now too and please tell me she didn't share?? x:shock:

    Love to everyone

Afternoon all. I've had a busy morning, two swims already one in the sea and one in the pool. Waiting for lunch then it's recovery nap time. [emoji42]

I've stayed away from the shops as much as possible. We are not big into presents and I brought things over from the UK. Will need to try find something for OH though.

I tried knitting a few years back but now ole fingers won't let me. Do enjoy my cross stitch though and can just about get away with it before fingers hurt too much.

Lucky Lucy, hope she enjoys her new phone.

    Enjoy your lunch out Aidan.

Lunch is calling, have a good afternoon everyone.

When I changed my name (Elizabeth was my middle name at birth)I had to pay £40, plus 2 witnesses. Not that I minded, money well spent in my opinion.

No I have not found Dan a present yet although I know he wants a capture card but only so he can stream PS2 games, so we had to find the old PS2 and its not working. So I thought I might as well buy him a new laptop instead of fixing/buying another PS2. But that all requires decisions and making sure everything works together. He might have to make do with a box of maltesers this year

I'm glad you can take the castle back Applerose now you have found it cheaper. I'm sure you said you'd put it all together so hope they don't complain...they make enough profit so sure it is okay.

Yep got more mice pies now, in fact we have enough food for an army, I'm feeling a bit guilty now.

Last night I was last one awake and feeling a bit peckish I opened a box of chocs, with the intention of having a couple; they were delicious and of course before I knew it there was only 2 left...shhhhh! I have to hide the box with the Fila jumper.

Barbara is windy today :) . Blooming T*** T*** are rubbish. I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. I'm with BT, expensive but I've never had any problems (although others have) so leaving well alone. Sorry Niamh missed the play but best she rested.

I do like the Rose Gold ones Toni but will settle with my cheapie. It does the job (mostly Text) but it only costs me 30p a month on contract so loathe to change it.

Thank you for the fire pic with the cats stockings...hopefully full of treats, although it sounds like she has already started on the tuna.

The tree is tiny and bare, well Lucy started to decorate it then gave up.
I'm struggling this year, you need a lot of energy for Christmas. Thank goodness for online shopping although the postage can be pretty steep. Lucy wanted some holograpic nail varnish and postage was £5 for a small bottle (and she wanted quite a few different colours from different places) so had to resort to buying from one shop only in the end.

Love to Kath, Carol, Joan Mig too..

Vapours and a groaning fridge here too Aidan.

Anybody spot the spelling mistake :D ?

Elizabeth you will get there with Dans present..even if he gets something and the main after Christmas... its our maiden name we want back...I for one cant wait...glad you enjoyed the chocs it is Christmas.. x:D think T..T have done with us if there is any more probs...I am thinking it might be the download from windows 10..
Joan I am so pleased to hear that Sue is home..you do make me laugh with your stories form when you were young..

    Evening all
well heard today that we should receive our name change certificates by courier tomorrow we have paid a £6 extra fee to have the service so that they don't go astray in the Christmas post we were rung by the office today to ask us if we wanted to pay the extra

Aiden yes I love my Knitting group and quite often we spend more time nattering than knitting but most of us enjoy it and it is named knit and natter after all .
no Mr T is not actually difficult to buy for but he has most gizmos and gadgets that he is likely to use and usually he will tell me of one or two things he could do with beforehand so I have some idea but he didn't this year so it was a bit more difficult but I have sorted it today.
The forms are easy to do its all the things you have to change when it is legal.

Toni yes its a very relaxing couple of hours I enjoy mid week some of us knit some crochet others cross stitch some of us can do all.
And yes cuddle countdown is definitely on cant wait and I will post a picture if I can get it to work on here have tried before but cannot get it to work.

Kerrin I do both knitting and cross stitch but do more knitting. i'm lucky my hands are not affected by the arthritis I have no problem with them.

Barbara yes we will glad the info helped

Kathleen that did make me laugh but please I already get refered to as Christmas carol this time of year anyway or the other on is partridge in a pear tree he he :lol:

Elizabeth it's as Barbara says it our maiden name we want back and mine will be back to me tomorrow but because we requested it as from 1st of January it will not be fully legal till then but an very happy about it

    love to all
and a great Christmas and new year to you all.

Aiden, have you managed to finish trimming Pepe's claws? I remember having to do my dog's a few at a time. We're on a yellow weather warning too. Not looking forward to getting half drowned tomorrow. It is a bit of a problem in public loos, isn't it? I'm amazed at the number of people who think wetting the tips of their fingers on one hand is good enough. My daughter has worked in path labs for quite a few years now and she said that about 80% of tummy upsets are due to people not washing their hands after the loo. I often feel I'd benefit from a turn on a wrack to get me stretched.

Toni, so your parcel arrived. How is it, they manage to deliver all the parcels late in the day? Don't think I've ever had one early. A rose gold phone? That does sound very pretty. I'm sure you can buy new keys for your laptop. Someone told me you just flick the old ones off and click the new ones on. I've not tried it in case I break them. I can see Daisycat. Only just. santa

Mig, merry Christmas to you too. Hope you enjoyed Jason. You are always so busy.

Kerrin, it does sound as if you are enjoying yourself. Glad it isn't too warm for you. 45 degrees? I'd melt.

Carol, I'm sure you could catch up on your knitting another time. It's good to have a good natter. Won't be long before you are counting down the hours till the cuddles. Your name change certificates will be with you tomorrow. That was quick. I remember when I changed back to my maiden name, I was told just to tell everyone. I didn't have to fill anything in.

Barbara, poor Niamh. Glad she is a little better. Hope she is back to her usual self by Christmas day. So you're blowing harder tomorrow. That's just reminded me, I need to bring in the Christmas garland on my from door. The problems I was having with my internet was due to the windows update. Seems to be sorted now.

Kath, hope your parcel arrived and you didn't have to wait all day for it.

Joan, I can imagine you getting up to all sorts of tricks while growing up. It must have been fun. Good to hear Sue is home now. Hope she is feeling much better.

Elizabeth, when I changed my married name back to my maiden name, I was told I only needed to tell everyone. I didn't fill in any forms and didn't have to pay to do it. Hope you manage to get something sorted out for Dan. I originally bought a small castle for £40 which I put together. I took it apart and took that one back. I then bought a bigger one for £60 then found it was being sold for £40 in a couple of places so changed that one. That made me laugh. I'd have eaten all the chocolates too. Hope there's enough space for the empty box with the jumper.

I'm going to my boss's mum's house tomorrow afternoon. She usually picks me up in the car but the traffic is horrendous at the moment so it will be quicker for me to walk. Then I'll walk from there to see my dad and get my shopping then home. Just hoping I manage to avoid the downpours. I found some wrapping paper today which looks as if it's been knitted.

oooh, a lot has gone on in the cafe, not sure I will catch up tonight. A big hi to everyone,
Toni and Lucy's parcel of a lovely iPhone 7, verrrrry nice indeed. Rose gold, wonderful choice. Ah, so that's why the pc has been on, pepe and diddicat skyping each other. I will have to install a monitor web cam in the lounge, to see what they get up to when we are out.

Love the pictures, Miss Slimkins does get in the smallest of places :) The fireplace is fab u lous and more besides.

We had a lovely meal at the G Center, the kiddies were excited, because we said Santa was coming early, because we won't see them on Christmas Day, so he made a special trip. Presents all opened when we arrived back at Mum n Dads. Little one had a new pram and she was SO excited she was jumping up and down. Have put pic on facebook.

The next door rang. Do we want some veggies, (more excess stock), errrrrrrrm, well, ok, but we have a fridge full to bursting. Anyway, huge box arrives, full to the brim with a stone of sprouts, a stone of potatoes, turnips, melon, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, pineapple...................... :? So today will be mass blanching and freezing day. Then he shouted, hang on. Two large quiches, family steak pie and 10 trifles.:lol: I had to laugh, I said where am I going to put them, but thank you very much.
So a gallon has gone into a pint pot, we have eaten two trifles, one quiche, just to make room. I will leave the rest in the cafe fridge. They are very nice.

Plus we have to go the shop tomorrow, not for food, no more food, please. Water and bits, that will be it, oh and a loo seat.

Joan I am SO glad that Sue is home, you must be much more settled. Many hugs and take care, Barbara is building up and gathering herself :?

Kerrin, you sound to be having a lovely time, swims, well two swims, lovely, plus keeping the fingers going with the stitching.

Carol you are on countdown and has sorted out the present for Mr T. I used to love knitting too. Could not do it now. I would love a piano again though, just to tickle those ivories a little.

Kath, you are all set to be blown onto the bus (take care if it is really windy hun). Hope the journey goes well. XX

Elizabeth I hope you have some energies, I know this time of year is draining at the best of times. We cannot abide TT either. You do right, eating as many choccies as you like. It is rude not to enjoy them, that's what I say. ;) Online shopping is great, we get quite a lot of things online too. I did spot the mistake, lol.

Barbara I am glad that Niamh is feeling better, bless. Steady as you go with the winds and rain.

I just have two more claws to go Christine, then his Lordship will be pin free for Christmas. He does love to drag himself around the new carpets, much to OH horror.
Don't get me started on loo's and people washing, or not washing their hands. I know I am Matron and hand washing was drilled into us from the get go. I used so much hand gel yesterday it has started my pompholyx off again  Soap and water gets rid of most bugs, but people still tickle their fingers under a tap and shake them, then walk out. Freaks me completely.
Hope you have a good visit with Dad and that you can dodge the rain that Barbara has in store for us.

Right, I had better move. I have just been in the kitchen, which looks like a greengrocers. I will pootle a little.

George is back from the USA so he is on over the week end, with Nurse Glady's and Hattie.

N Night all, stay safe, keep warm, mind the wind :winter-storm: XXXX Aidan

    Morning everyone.

The cafe is buzzing, hard to keep up.

Two swims yesterday knackered me and spent most of the afternoon in zombie mode. Keep forgetting I can't do as much as I used to, it's very noticeable this holiday. Already been for a walk this morning, and plan on going swimming later as it's a nice warm day again.

Glad that Sue is home for Christmas.

Aidan, I have become much more particular about hand washing since staring MTX. Now I use gel every time I get off the train too. Touch wood so far haven't picked up any bugs.

Cross stitch does hurt a bit but not as bad if I use both hands. It is relaxing though and my mum is doing it as well so we natter as we stitch! Unfortunately my arthritis is in my fingers, affects quite a few of the things I enjoy doing, but on a plus, doesn't affect walking or swimming, and can do most things at work.

Barbara, calm down a bit, don't want to blow everybody away. Just as well your force hasn't reached down south, very calm down here.

Have a good day everyone. Stay dry and warm.

Morning Joan - I love it!! You could even fool your MUM!!!! :) I am so very pleased to hear Sue is home safe and sound.

Kerrin - Cross stitch isn't so bad as knitting or crochet I agree. Nice to be chatting to your Mu while you are doing it. One of Lucy's chemos was MTX (in huge IV doses and later on tablet form), when she was fighting leukaemia. I had hand gel in the door way for visitors  Keep up the walking and swimming it's good for you.

Lucy loves her phone thanks. I am having a Samsung S7 so I can drop I the pond a bit more safely this year!!

Aidan - yes! A cat-cam!! I don't think they are up to much just swapping tips on how to get hold of tuna via online shopping maybe????

SantaPaws came early here to drop Diddicat off an extra scratch post :)

I am so gad to hear the wee one loved her pram :) Adorable!!

Hope your hands cope ok with the peeling, blanching and freezing x:shock:

Thank you I have had some of the extra goodies

    c085.gif

I am glad to hear Pepe's nails are nearly done. Daddy will be cross of he trashes the new carpet (I got two letters the wrong way round here  ). I have put some of that sticky paws tape all around the sofa and chairs. Hence the extra scratch post.

George is back!! We'd better get in some mine pies for him and Hattie and Gladys :)

Christine yes people are gross with hand-washing aren't they? No need for it at all. I don't think I've ever caught a tummy bug from my family and I blame it on good hand hygiene. As well as anti-bac wipes on the loo handle, door handles etc.

If her ear hadn't twitched I would have missed Daisycat too. Maybe she was using Lucy's old phone under the cushions!!!

    Rose gold is lovely :)

Shall I bring our garland in too???

That wrapping paper sounds amazing. I hope your Dad is ok when you get there and you don't get wet going to work!

Carol how exiting!! Lucy changed her name by statutory declaration too to Paul's surname when her natural father forgot her once too often x:x

Oh photos aren't easy - I use photobucket and upload them there then they give me the link for forums automatically.

The knitting group is a very good sociable idea and I wish we had one here too :)

Elizabeth I have to agree, Christmas certainly depletes any energy levels you might have :(

I'm sure you'll sort something for Dan - as Barbara says maybe just something to open then a bigger one New Year. I ordered Lucy tickets for the British Style Collective online and can't print them as my email isn't working :(

I did exactly the same with cherry liqueurs

My phone is on sim only too. Why pay more? I mostly text and take photos now. Paul is buying me a new phone for Christmas. Mine's memory is full even the SD card :(

Yes the cat's stockings have treats in them :) wind-up mice tinsel on sticks etc :)

I hope Lucy loves her nail varnish and finishes the tree for you now they've broken up. I hope she is ok??

Now the spelling mistake - I myself overlooked it, but DAISYCAT said YES please!!!!

Barbara - will you leave the covers on the garden furniture alone!!!!!! x:roll: Honestly!! I bet you're getting sick of having the blame now ;)

It was talk talk was it? I am with plusnet and my emails are stuck at 2012 can't go forward. I am not the only one and it's been going on for 7 weeks now :(

I think we all have bother with them at one time or another though.

I hope Niamh is much better now, I know she missed the play, but at last she'll be well for Christmas day :)

Kath that was funny!! Imagine thinking Carol was changing her name to Carol Service!!

I am sure you'll manage the bus on Saturday. If you've had enough can you get a cab back???

mig it's George again and Hattie and Gladys!!

    Love to everyone

    Toni xxx

    Good Morning to you all
just an update on the name change we have received our official forms from the deed poll office to sign with our old signatures and our new signatures and get witnessed which Mr Turbo has already arranged for our church secretary to do them, then we have to send them back and they will send out the certificates. only thing here is that we cannot get them witnessed until Sunday and they have to be sent back recorded delivery so that will have to wait until next Wednesday when the post office is open. may be a few day into the new year before we get the actual certificates but they will be dated as of the 1st of January.

must go now as have some bits to do before I go out will pop in later to catch up on the goings on in the café.
take care see you later. x:)
    Stay positive always👍xx

Afternoon to one and all, thought I would just pop in, mid veg preparation. Just about everything ready, now we have no water - a leak somewhere up the road and everyone is off at the moment  :x :x  Cannot even wash my hands that are the colour of carrots.
I had to stop chopping, my hands would not take any more, a big blister on my finger appeared, OH had to take charge.

    We went to Sains
s, well, next door to Home---se first, got the new loo seat, which is very nice, white, shaker style, duly fitted.
Then we went up to the shop - OH MY GOODNESS - it was like the world was coming to an end. Queuing down every aisle to get to each till. The man in front had a trolley SO piled high - his bill was £300.00 when he had finished :o Thought ours was bad enough at £50 for a few "bits".

Oh I want to get on and get lunch, blanch things etc and I cannot.

Sue, very glad that you are home and everyone has been thinking of you and Joan.

I think we can put Dr Kildare on standby Mig, if George is worn out, treating mass swooning, then Dr K can step in.

Glad Lucy loves the new phone and you will love the S7, is it the Edge one, like mine. Yes, you can throw it in the pond, as long as it it no deeper than 3 feet. If it is, then it's a swimming pool, not a pond :D

I will write some more later, I need to try and get some lunch sorted. Grrrrrrrrrr, the anti bac wipes will suffice for now. Not much choice.

Barbara, it is windy, but not as bad as we were thinking. Try to be calm now. ;)

    Later XXXX Aidan
XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).

Oh how lovely, Sue is home for Christmas. :D

Barbara, have you finished your journey across the country? Hope you give us a miss! :winter-storm: It could well be our Windows update giving you problems, it took ages for ours to settle down.

Toni, the puss cats will love their prezzies. :snowball-fight:

Hoping my prescription arrives before the rain gets here. :?

If I do get on the bus I'll try to get on and let you know. If not, I hope you all have a super holiday, and pets too. champagne bottle
