Morning.
My school days are always busy, today is average, had much worse Thursdays especially as it's my duty day, before school and breaktime.
Thumbs crossed the dentist goes well Aidan, I hate going to the dentist.
Christmas shopping, eek I've hardly done any. Will be celebrating with the Mr when I get back from SA on the 28th.
Hope the hospital appointments for Lucy go well. Tom and Jerry are available for cloak duty.

Thank you Kerrin - all will be well Lucy has been through worse I suppose.
Bless her she's started trying to move the arm to prepare it x
I wanna come with you to SA - happy to delay Christmas
Daisycat would like to teach yours the subtle art of vole/mouse catching. She brings me several daily
Aidan I very much hope the dentist goes ok for you and all is well. Do you have to take prophylactic antibiotics?
Diddicat will be over 'while you are out' apparently... x:? Hide the tuna is my advice.
I am at the dentist too wit Lu for collection of her new retainer, hers went AWOL in the QE and of course no dental treatment apart from a watchful eye while on chemo so finally we can start work.
The original money supermarket advert was one of my all-time favourites. At the moment I am in love with 'Carrot'
Some dancing elves for you (and Christine too)
Carol I totally agree, you must visit for as long as possible so you can spend time with those GGchildren It will be wonderful won't it?
Do you use skype at all like Christine does?
I actually used a sinex yesterday too!! Just had a bunged nose and couldn't sleep.
Elizabeth! Lovely to see you Sounds like the meal was fun and good food too. Nice to be in the middle so you could be sociable.
I too have been caught out with shopping from there. It's sometimes only obvious when it takes 3 weeks to arrive x:x
I do hope they help your Lucy ((())) to both of you and I agree it's good they can see her when it's going on.
Barbara it's great to see you back on. You have probably sorted out your glitch after the update, but it is frustrating
Yes lots of questions, but Lucy was scared last night and thought she might have a seizure so she asked me to come in with her. She is keen to go ahead, brave girl!
I hope they let me stay. They might - maybe????
Kath did you say marmite and banana??? :?
Glad DN tuned up
Love to Joan and Sue hope dogs are all well.

Evening to one and all, hoping that everyone is as ok as can be
I can imagine every day is a busy day Kerrin, a bit like nursing, never a dull moment and always on the go. I am so glad they retired me :?
It will be fun celebrating a few days late, when everyone has finished their feasting and festivities.
Better pop to the shops asap and start the Christmas list
The Dentist went ok, I had the tooth taken out, with much lignocaine and then some more, as I was not too sure about feeling him loosening the tooth. It had become very infected into the root, from gum erosion and bacteria creeping down and round. Eeew. Even with good oral hygiene. It had to go.
I said to OH, you can officially call me "face ache" now. Feels like I have been punched, full on. Anyway, it will soon be mending now. SO glad it has been removed.
Hi Toni, I imagine Lucy is handling things in a totally commendable way, bless. Mobilising her arm in preparation. One determined young woman and brave beyond words.
I used to have prophylactic AB's, 2 grammes of Amoxicillin, in one dose, before any dental work, but the cardiologist decided it was not necessary, it is more for people who have had valve replacements etc. I mentioned that I had not long finished a course of AB's after being bitten by his lordship. Thank you all for being under the cloak, I noticed a few crumbs on the floor as I went out, so I knew you were about.
So, Miss Slimkins was circuit training again - ha - I did find a little twig, which I assume was from the broomstick, near the kitchen door, so there had obviously been an attempt at a fridge raid. Pepe said they did lots of exercise - why am I not convinced.
Hope your trip to the dentist with Lucy went ok too. No, no treatment while on chemo, don't want any bugs getting in anywhere if at all possible.
Who's carrot, I will have to google or you tube the advert.
The elves dancing are lovely, thank you, made me smile, well, half a smile, with accompanying face ache.
As we were leaving the dentist, having taken cards in and nattered away, the dental nurse, who is mad and lovely, said go steady for a while. I said we are off to Nero's for panini and cakes - she rolled her eyes. I said I might as well, while it is all numb. Plus, I never dribbled once with my coffees, which is a plus.
I did read correctly then, marmite and banana
One, I cannot even smell a banana without feeling ill, let alone smother it in marmite.........oh my, waves of nausea.
Hi Joan, I did indeed come out smiling from the dentist. Always glad when things are done and sorted.
Poor Sue, with cellulitis, bless, she will be on IV antibiotics I assume. Good that they got to it as soon as possible. Hopefully she won't be in long. Many hugs to you both. I bet the doggies missed her not being at home.
Kath, the menu is, as always, a temptation and more. I think I will have a grilled salmon taco and then a panettone pudding, oh I love love love panettone. I sometimes have then in Nero's, yummy with lots of French butter on them.
Glad the DN did arrive, eventually. 5am is pretty early, 6 is early too. I used to get up at that time when I was working an early shift.
Did your Px arrive? I hope they didn't get that mixed up as well as DN visits.
Hi Barbara - still having glitches, I think hitting it with a mallet might help
Thank you for the hugs, yes, it was today and I am all sorted, sinuses have stopped running, it was all linked to the nasty tooth and lurking infection.
Turkey all ready, well, not ready for the oven, but ready in the chiller. We were looking around Mark's, sussing out what we will be getting for Christmas day, with 5 of us. We are thinking of small pork and cranberry pies, with some wonderful sliced ham, selections of vegetables, pigs in blankets, stuffing - then a choice of Christmas pudding or profiteroles..........mmmmmmmmmm
Skipton was very quiet today, which was nice, we had a leisurely coffee and snacks, then a wander up the high street and back to the car, then to Mark's and home.
Hi to Elizabeth, Mig, Carol, Christine, hope all are ok.
Take lots of care XXXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Morning everyone. The last day has arrived and it should be a quieter one. Unless one of the teachers is absent and I have to cover.
Glad the dentist went ok Aidan, and starts to feel better soon. I've spoken to Tom about leaving crumbs, told him to leave the dreamies at home.
Pizza was yummy thanks Barbara, not sure I will take the country road to the shop again though. Reminded me of a rollercoaster. Hope router is behaving itself.
All that food sounds yummy Kathleen.
Toni, going to pass on any mouse catching lessons from Daisycat. With a field outside my back door, the mogs don't need any encouragement. Tom is too lazy anyway, his idea of exercise is walking up the stairs to his food bowl.
Hi to anyone else I missed. Train actually on time this morning, thank goodness I don't use Southern trains, so time to go. Need to go try get a refund from the ticket fiasco on Monday.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk0 -
Kerrin - that is my problem too!!! Fields on all side behind. No voles? They look like the mice, but tails are shorter. Daisycat is naughty and eats off their heads.
Yuk!!
I am very glad the train is on time hope today goes well for you and no covering needed
Aidan that sounded awful!! You poor thing, but safety first the tooth had to go. Remember all the bacteria in your mouth have good access to your heart. (Sorry Grandmother eggs x:oops: ). Of course antib's probably still in your system ATM.
Sorry about the crumbs - we were hungry!!
I downloaded A/C's range of movement for shoulder for Lucy. Do not want her making anything worse!
Her teeth are all done and dusted so nothing to do for 6 months.
Carrot is Aldi's little Christmas character and adorable
Yes so-called exercise. Jaws more like. Was there cream in the fridge? Daisy had a small white 'tache....??
Aw Barbara - thank you We live about an hour away thanks to being reasonably close to the M6. I'm going to ring back today see if he has the answer to whether I can stay. Apparently I can definitely stay in the hospital maybe not on her floor like on the Teenage Cancer Trust wards, which she's used to.
Annoying about the router - is one on it's way?
Kath TWO puds for me please as it's Christmas. Chocolate brownie and of course bread pudding!!
I think I might have to pass on the marmite and banana!!!
Joan did Sue come home? I am very sorry to hear she has cellulitis and thought maybe they will be doing her antibiotics intravenously through a vein for speed??
GET WELL SOON SUE
Love to everyone I missed Elizabeth....Carol.....0 -
Hi all, thought you'd enjoy this photo of the village of oulgrave in cakes. All edible.

Kerrin do you have Owls nearby? They love voles more than mice, especially for their owlets.
Oh yes Toni, I love the little carrot. Especially when he makes a snow angel. :frozen: You can have as many puds as yo like, whatever time of year. I should leave the voles for Daisycat. Bleugh. :?
Aidan, hope your "face ache" has recovered. Px? what's that? Excuse my ignorance.
Barbara, we used have dinner with DIL, but now our son has done a disappearing act we won't.
Sorry to hear Sue has Cellulitis. Hope the ABs work."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Hello Kath!!!
Apparently 'Carrot' is called Kevin and I love his snow angel and the fact he got a nose this week
I have had two puds thank you might be back for more. I've had far too many voles already this Christmas
A whole village made of cake!! How lovely Not sure it's safe to bring it in here though - us lot will eat it x0 -
Hello everyone
I've just got back from the hospital I was picked up at 1100
I had 5 scan's on my throat. thank you for caring about sue she is coming home Sunday morning she didn't want me to go and see her because she is on the 3'rd floor. yes Toni she a drip in her vein.
we had a new immersion heater the boiler is but not the radiators.
they are coming tomorrow afternoon.
joan xx thank you for caring about us.take care
joan xx0 -
oo, three minutes to midnight, so I can say, good evening
just.
Hope everyone is as good as possible.
Kerrin, I do hope your last day had more of an air of calm about it, than the hectic ones you have had recently. You will be busy packing now, ready for long journeys south.
Don't worry about the crumbs, I am sure Tom was not the only one to sample the scones and butter.
Country roads, oh no, not if they are like the big dipper. I don't mind some, but we have some really small ones around here, with blind bends, I shut my eyes and leave it to OH - he is a very good driver, very safe and always errs on the side of caution.
If I was on the bus, I would be a queasy heap. It was fun in my school days, but I could not cope with a bus ride now.
Glad you are not having to use Southern Trains, I have seen the pictures of people crammed into stations, waiting for trains, must be terrible, especially at this time of year.
Hi Toni, voles are cute, well, they are until they are headless ( are you listening missy Diddicat, lol).
Yes, the tooth was horrid, looked ok from the top, but lurking beneath it was not pleasant. Yes, there is a direct link from dental bugs, to the heart, bacterial endocarditis is NOT something anyone wants. The gap, which feels like the width of the M1, is healing very well and has not stopped me eating scones or anything else for that matter. :?
I have put a little dust buster into the cloak, just in case there is a crumb fest and tracks need to be hidden.
This one looks nice and compact.
Oh, I like Kevin the Carrot, what a clever advert. Watched it on You T---, very nicely done.
Good that Lucy has the right ranges for moving her shoulder, bless, anything done now, will help strengthen muscles and the like, which will help a great deal.
I think it was all a ruse, this circuit training. There was madagascan cream vanilla custard in the fridge, so, I think that might account for the tache.
There is cream a plenty now, next door came home with a tray full of spare cream and jam scones, all boxed and in good date. They were going in the skip   We have 12 of them now. Had two after supper. I said they will come in handy on Sunday when BIL and SIL are coming over. BIL will demolish some, SIL might have one, depending on how many sins there are  Terrible that they have to throw so much away. Cakes, gateaux, trifles, you name it...........
Two puds is just fine, even more so at Christmas
Oh Kath, a whole village, made of cakes, Toni is right, it would not look like a lovely village for long in the cafe, more of a demolition zone.
We have lots of owls, we hear them all the time, especially when it is really cold, they seem to call and hoot even more. We have seen three, one Barn owl and two Tawny Owls. They were sat on next doors handrail round the decking. They were not bothered, they just turned their heads, what seems to be all the way round and gave us a wise stare. Wonderful creatures.
Yes, I am no longer face ache any more, the pain is almost gone and my sinuses feel so much better too. Thank you. Px is nursey speak for prescription. We have our own language, lol. A lot of medication instructions were done in latin.
Joan, I am glad to hear that you had your scans and are home safely. Good to hear that Sue will be out on Sunday. Plenty of IV antibiotics will have done the trick. Hiking up to the third floor would be difficult, so I can understand that she didn't want you to do too much. Bless you hun, we do care, very much, everyone does.
You have had trouble with the heating and water, let's hope they sort it out. We know you like to keep warm.
Hi to Carol, Mig, Christine, Elizabeth and all.
We had our trip to the garden center this morning, it was quite busy, so our usual table was taken - huh, how could they, lol. The scones were lovely and I pushed the boat out and had jam on mine. The coffee was slightly weaker than normal, they had a new machine - think it needs an extra shot in the americano's. Dad was in super grumps mood, Mum was quite happy to be out and about.
Week end at home, no plans until Sunday pm when BIL and SIL come in after they have been out to lunch with mum n dad. They need their time with them, we do enough lunches and tea room trips as it is.
right, I will go and potter in the kitchen, Pepe will be squealing for food very soon and the dryer had finished. I need to move the bones.
Everyone take lots of care, especially if you are out shopping, it will be manic this week end.........best off at home in the warm.

Good morning Joan. Such good news Sue will be home tomorrow antibiotics via the vein work much faster Please send her our love and how sweet she is thinking of you and the stairs!!
I am so glad all scans are done now and hopefully results will tell the Dr what needs to be done next.
Morning Aidan So Dad was Mr Grumpypants eh? Not surprised it's not easy living with someone who is proper ill. BIL and SIL can take their turn then visit you Sometimes the machines do need an extra shot don't they? I hope they adjust it ASAP. Jam is good on a scone!!
Kevin the carrot is adorable isn't he? I like the one where he's in the angel's dress on top of the tree too!!
I plan to avoid shopping today, but have an idea Paul wants to take Lucy to Telford tomorrow....I will probably go myself incase she needs me x:roll:
Love to all our missing, but probably pressie-wrapping friends

Morning everyone.
Yesterday was a calmer day at school and it's all done now. I'm almost all packed as I start the first leg of the 24 hr journey in about 3 hours. It's been hard work though as have METH day fog, energy levels are very low.
Good news that Sue will be home soon.
Must get moving and finish the packing. Will pop back later and catch up properly.

I am beaming from head to to toe. I walked (with my tri-walker) between half to three quarters of a mile, to the chippy with OH.
Kerrin, what dose MTX do yo take? I used to have 20 mg injection but my liver function went too high, so they stopped it for a while. I now take 7.5mg tablets so I can have Rituximab for my Vasculitis. I also take 20mg Leflunamide.
Joan, so happy Sue will be home tomorrow.
Aidan, Px, of course - what a numpty I am. :winter-storm:"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

At the airport.......early, so now have time to kill. But have to allow for the M25. It's very foggy here.
I am in 15mg MTX a week followed by 2 folic acid tabs the next day. So far (only my 6th week) side effects are ok, just a bit of tiredness the next day. No noticeable difference to the joints, if anything they are worse.

Afternoon to one and all
So far, a quiet week end, managed to get the ironing done, washing some drying, will leave the extra fussing until tomorrow, when family come visit in the afternoon. I am sure we will all be fine, thank you Joan. We have enough cake, scones and goodies, to sink a ship, so they won't leave hungry I bet you are looking forward to Sue coming home, antibiotics will finish today I would guess, maybe some to take at home, just to make sure. I hope the heating and or hot water is all sorted now. Take lots of care, fusses to the lovely doggies too.
Dad was very grumpypants, as you say, difficult to live with someone who is so ill. He does not understand all the where's and why's, no matter how many times you discuss things. "I am surprised they haven't given her a pill, to make it go" Bless, if they could, they would, believe me.
Isn't carrot just wonderful, a lovely series of adverts, snow angel is wonderful. I will have to look for the top of the tree one.
We are avoiding any shops and going out's this week end. It will be mayhem I am sure. More than happy to stay at home and be with the puskins. I imagine Telford will be quite packed with shoppers, take care and take cake if you do go. 8) Pepe is not eating much, just sleeping a lot - he will wake up properly later on and then won't leave me alone
I see you are at the airport Kerrin, better to be early, as you say. I was reading about the fog causing delays with flights. I hope you manage to get away on time, it can be so tiring, just waiting around for hours. Hopefully you can take a nap on the plane, catch up with a few zzzz and beat the methx fog away. It doesn't always work for everyone, sorry that your joints are not improved with it. Take care and have a lovely time. Safe journeys.
I bet you are beaming Kath, with good reason too. That is quite a walk, you must be so pleased with your progress. I hope you had some wonderful fish and chips, to help recover from the journey.
No, your not a numpty at all. Abbreviations are not always obvious. Have a nice rest now, recharge your batteries, ready for more adventures. xx
I am guessing others will be shopping and busy away, in preparation for next week end. Christine, Elizabeth, Barbara (who will post when I do, lol) Mg who is in the Scottish borders, or maybe on the way back now, to take in the show with Jason Donovan.....
:frozen: I think it is turning a wee bit cooler, just heard the heating come on, I think OH has nudged it in passing. The cats wont mind and I am just comfortable at the moment.
I forgot to make sure the ward was staffed. Oh my, it was a mess,
Sir Lancelot and Hattie are on this week end, with Charlie on the bank, in case we need more hands.
Right - time to potter, sort pills, medicate Mother Puskins, fuss a little in the kitchen.
Everyone take lots of care.

I'm here. I have been busy sorting Christmas things as well as my freezing pages. It's working fine tonight so guess it's been fixed. I've had a quick read through.
Toni, Lucy is indeed very brave, exercising her shoulder in preparation. I quite like Kevin the carrot too.
Aiden, glad you've had your tooth out. I'm seeing my dentist on Wednesday and am going to arrange to have one out. it has been pushed in front of the others and they've closed the gap so it's just sticking out now.
Joan, hope your scans turn out ok and Sue is feeling better and gets home tomorrow. You must miss each other.
Kerrin, hope you have a lovely holiday.
Kath, good to hear you have walked quite a way with your walker. Well done.
Elizabeth, glad you enjoyed your night out. You deserve it.
Carol, don't worry about putting on a tiny bit of weight. You've done fantastically well and will lose it again.
I couldn't come in last night as I was at the North Pole. My sister and her partner and GS picked me up and we went on the Polar Express to pick Santa up. It was fantastic. The kids all loved it and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We all went in out jimjams. Christmas shopping all done although I am thinking of exchanging one thing. I'll get everything wrapped tomorrow, hopefully.Christine0 -
Evening all its been a reasonably good week full of unexpected things.
On Monday morning our second great granddaughter Graycie-Mai was born by Monday evening mum and baby were back at home both doing well. then at the school concert in the evening I left my reading glasses there so was struggling with an old pair. Then on Wednesday I rang my daughter to ask if I could go and stay with her for a couple of days so I could see baby and other great granddaughter ,and was told yes but she wasn't sure when it would be ok as my sil has a couple of his family want to come over from Ireland and stay a few days in January but she would ask sil to find out their dates and get back to me. have not been too great myself with a streaming cold. and meds causing me to have waste product removal problems from the body (thought i'd put that politely haha)
then yesterday lunch time my Oh asks me what I think of us changing our surname by deed poll and bring my bringing my maiden name back into our name and using both names, for my birthday in January. well although my husband has always said we should have done it when we got married to say I was shocked  was an understatement to say the least and after speaking to daughters and my sister we have sent off for forms to fill in to change name. then daughter rings back and I am visiting her from the 4th to 6th of January yippee And today oh went to church to prepare it for our candlelight carol service tomorrow and he brought my beloved reading glasses back home. so it has been quite an eventful week
love to you all santa champagne bottleStay positive always👍xx0 -
