Carol, hope the cream does help and quickly. Not nice being itchy. You sound so excited. Not surprised with your name change and baby cuddles only days away. How wonderful.
Aiden, it was very white out here too with frost. And cold. That sounds like a lovely brunch with everyone getting together. Hope Pepe has recovered. I'm going to use the same excuse that the chocolates settle me down at bedtime. Sorry to hear mum's bruising hasn't gone. Will her GP see her soon? I sorted out a bit of paperwork a couple of days ago and threw some out as it was a few years old. Had to make room for the next few years' papers.
Kerrin, I can't sleep while travelling by any mode. Even when I spent 24 hours travelling to Australia, I only dozed a little still aware of what was going on around me. Hope you enjoyed your swim and pottering. Oh just read your swim was tough. Are you taking lessons? It is very good exercise though.
Toni, so it's easy to get out of a mermaid blanket? I didn't realise they opened up. Might get myself one. There's not much going on down here for New Year's Eve but they'll probably be having some sort of family get together in Scotland so my daughter's husband can get to see all his family and friends.
Joan, I hope you and Sue have a very good year too.
Barbara, you were busy yesterday but all sounds good. Yes, it's my daughter from Australia who is coming to stay. I've finally got the bedrooms ready. Being on my own, I've tended to use them as store rooms but they are bedrooms again. Just have to make the beds up now. Yes, you're right. We do have more time for our GC but I think we also let them do things mum and dad might not. Hee hee. I think we're probably all the same at the moment and not wanting any more sweet stuff.
I didn't get round to my friend's before Christmas with her card so went round today. Thought I'd tell her it was early for next year but she wasn't in. It was a nice walk to get some fresh air if nothing else. Just watching a programme I recorded. It's another about the Flying Scotsman and shows it some of the time as if you are actually in the cab watching the men shovelling the coal and letting off the steam. There's also a camera on the front showing the view of the countryside as the engine steams through.Christine0 -
Morning everyone.
One day closer to baby cuddles, and the name change.
Christine, enjoy your daughters visit. how exciting.
I swim in a masters group at a swimming club, ages range from 25 to 67, I'm In the middle. When I had to stop playing tennis in Feb due to my fingers, OH suggested I started swimming again. I swam competitively at school 30 odd years ago. I thought he was mad at first but needed something to keep my competitive juices flowing. 6 months later, I try to swim twice a week. Yesterday was harder than usual as there were only 3 of us with the head coach, so nowhere to hide! Only problem is I am totally whacked after a swimming session, but I know it's good for me.
OH has a mild cold and I am not feeling great. Not what I need right now, as I don't do mild colds, mine tend to last for weeks.
Have a good day.
Kerrin

Good Morning Joan, Kerrin, Applerose and Barbara and anyone else who is around.
Joan its only two things cant think of a third thing yet
Kerrin yes one day closer as my grandchildren would say 2 more sleeps to name change and 5 sleeps to baby cuddles
Applerose cream is helping the itchy skin thankfully I'm sure it will go soon. the antifungal stuff you use twice a day the moisturising stuff I can use as many times as I need to stop the itching round the neck is the worst especially when i get too hot or too cold.
Barbara yes excitement indeed just so looking forward to each thing. yes our Little Lillie-Rose usually called Lillie or lillz is a lovely little girl so funny and saucy but always polite and not rude my granddaughter and her partner are quite strict with her on that. nice that you got out for a coffee and no leave the cake tin alone ha ha
see you all later have a good day.Stay positive always👍xx0 -
No Aidan last night? Let's hope he's ok and was just busy. I was we went for a meal out at the posh place in Acton Trussell. Rather nice, but too cold to go out isn't it?
Must be a shock to your system Kerrin being back here. Hope the cold stays away from you and good to keep swimming.
4 days to go now Carol? The blankets are so snug. We all had one from Lucy it was her theme this year
Barbara I have just popped in for a cuppa too. Going to see if my pharmacist has Milton spray as Aidan suggested.
Joan any news on a date for that foot yet?
Christine I am off to visit my friend who I couldn't get to before Christmas...she is cow sitting....seriously!!!
It's so foggy I am a bit scared :?
see you all later I hope
Love

My bottom, hip and knee hurt. I don't like it. Also my finger tips are sore. Combination of RA, OA and Vasculitis.
Kerrin is safely home, Carol is just a few days away from snuggles and cuddles, I've been showing off on the bus, but might have overdone it a bit.
Hope all are managing to keep warm.

Evening all well not all has gone to plan today the deed poll forms have not arrived Mr Turbo rang the deed poll office to let them know they gave him the tracking number and he has been tracking it since he stayed in all day as I had had plans to meet a friend this afternoon. when I came home it said it was mis-sorted then so I rang up r***l m**l as mr T not good as he doesn't like complaining and was told it would be sent to the right place and would be with us by 1pm tomorrow then another check about 15 mins ago and we find it on the back to chelmsford where it started off from at 6.30pm last night what a complete muck up (not what Id like to say but if I said what I am thinking right now I would probably be censored ) I am now really mad :x :x :x :x seeing as we paid extra for it to come express delivery so that we had it by the 1st of January which is the date that it will become legal. the most annoying thing is that it has been so close to where we live in fact only two bus journey from where we live now its on its way back the other way again.
And to add to that as I came inform being out I received a text message to say my food shopping delivery would be delayed by half hour at least we have that now. so suffice to say both mr T and myself are both in foul moods tonight.
its foggy and very cold here too so that don't help either hopefully after a nights sleep we will feel better after all there is nothing we can do about it. but keep tracking it and see what happens next.
Toni glad you had such a nice useful present from Lucy think I may have to knit one for myself. yes 5 more sleeps as the grand children would say.
Barbara Yes they are funny little thongs at 4 you just gotta love them. I just cannot believe we have 3 Grand Children who are 25 23 and nearly 15 and 2 great grandchildren who are nearly 5 and 3 weeks on Monday beginning to feel old now.
think I will now go and put the heating back on before I freeze me joints to the armchair.
keep warm one and allStay positive always👍xx0 -
Kerrin, it is difficult trying to balance exercising and not doing too much that we get overtired. Not easy but exercise is definitely good. Hope you don't catch OH's cold. Mine are usually mild but they last for a long time.
Joan, you must be missing your swimming. Hopefully you'll get back to it after your foot op.
Carol, glad you've got something to help the itching. Hopefully it'll clear up soon. Just read about your deed poll forms. That is very frustrating when you've paid the extra.
Toni, your friend is cow-sitting? How lovely. I like cows. Wouldn't mind baby-sitting one. Hope the fog had cleared before you went out.
Kath, so everything is playing up at once. Not for long, I hope.
Barbara, I didn't see that on this morning. It wasn't my daughter. She hasn't mentioned it. I've almost had enough of sweet things now but keeping some for next week. Just reminded me when you mentioned red cabbage. I couldn't find one anywhere last week when I wanted one but they are everywhere now.
Still no Aiden. Hope things are ok and he's just busy.
Went with my sister to see our dad. A couple of the carers spoke to us and said that since his lady friend died, he is actually now more outgoing and started mixing with the others again. I think he'd felt he had to spend more time with her as she didn't like the people my dad had become friendly with.
Well it's New Year's Eve tomorrow. Is anyone doing anything? I might go round to my sister's for an hour or so but won't be staying long. My bed starts calling me around 10pm. champagne bottleChristine0 -
Afternoon to one and all, I will make a start, as the cafe has been moving on a pace over the last 24 48 hours...........................
Kerrin I hope you are back on GMT now, it does take it out of you, even a couple of hours change in time zones. When we flew to LA, I didn't know if I was Arthur or Martha. Having a McD breakfast sounds like a good idea You are doing well with you swimming, I wish we had a pool, well, we do have a pool nearby, but I am not convinced about the "cleaning" of it and while there are so many bugs lurking I am on OCD at the moment. Toni knows.........
It did feel a bit like a coach party Toni, we had two big tables, in the middle of the room, so we were like pride of place, lol. It was lovely to get together, but, we are about done with get togethers now and want some down time. That sounds horrid, but I don't mean it in a bad way. It shakes your equipoise somewhat, when you are used to quieter times and a routine that you can cope with.
I was right to get Mum into the Drs, she is on a big dose of AB's now and has to go back next Tues - they have put markers on her leg, so we can see if it is tracking outwards etc. I should never have retired really.
Then Dad fell down their steps to the front door, missed the bottom one and landed on his back. He is ok
Then today, while we had a ciggy, they went in to get our table at the G Center, we followed on, he had fallen over at the door, bruised arms etc..........................He does have a stick, but won't use it - what do you do??? They need wrapping in bubble wrap at the moment, the pair of them.
Milton do a trigger spray, wipes, hand gel and of course milton solution. I get them from the larger Te---'s, down the baby aisle, I have been manic with it and am running out  :? I have sprayed it on just about every surface known to man and it doesn't mark things as far as I can gather. Must stock up next week.
What set me off today, well, neighbour over road, has just had heart op and came home two nights ago. We went over to sit with her while OH went for a hair cut, fine, cuddles and lovely to see her home, checked her pulse said it was ok. She was quite happy. Stayed a while till hubby got back.
Midnight, phone rang, L is really ill, sick and "other end" and in a terrible state. She has the sickness bug  :? Right, says I. Trying not to faint as we had been there in the afternoon. In the end the Ambulance came and she has been re admitted.
I thought, let me check, on things, rang ward at hospital where she was, said what was happening, they said they have not got norovirus on the ward, doubly confirmed it while I was on the phone.
anyway, as I said to OH it could be all manner of things post op, infection, small clot being thrown off, plus her pulse had gone back up to nearly 200, which is NOT good and in fact very dangerous. Hospital was the only option.
She has been ok, settled the nausea with various drugs, just waiting to find out any news when hubby comes home. Oh it's all go here.
So big do't and little do's, my OCD cleaning went into overdrive and OH had to tell me to stop with the fridge cleaning, twice was enough -ooops   sorry, cannot help it. We are taking anti emetics, which I am on anyway, just to make sure we are as prevented as possible. oh I am rambling on............sorry.
Glad to hear that you have managed to avoid the "bug". It seems to completely miss some and wipes out others, like most Virus's, some are immune.
Hi Joan, Mum will be on the mend again, after Matron has intervened, once more I hope you have managed to keep nice and warm. It is not as cold today, but the frosts are coming back after tomorrow, looks like a cold week.
Now, are we on day 4 of the countdown Carol, we must be, if I am working things out correctly, all too exciting. No we don't want any snow, Feb is usually the worst month. We were stuck in for nearly a week some years back, we were climbing the walls too.
I see you have had a lot of visitors Barbara, it is certainly that time of year. I think I have missed a day somewhere along the way.
Your OH was chief baby sitter and did a good job. I hope Niamh is fully better now.
Chocolates are a must for "settling things" lol. We must try to work our way through them (I throw the ones I don't like).
None of the cats are too keen on a house full of people, a bit like myself :? Mother (Tosca) is completely allergic to children and is always carried off to the bedrooms.
You managed a coffee but nothing sweet, Faints on the spot. Now then, what has come over you. A scone, they are not too sweet, no jam, just lots of butter, for calcium
Of course you must look in the cake tin, no calories here.
Right, it is nearly nap time, so I will finish this later. I need to move, my legs are not my own at the moment. :?
Hi Christine - it was lovely to see thick frost, I don't mind it cold, as long as we can get about. I think it was hoar frost, where it builds up like mini icicles.
I see you have been having a sort out of papers as well, it must be nesting time, ready for the new year
I am sure there will be celebrations in Bonnie Scotland, with family and friends.
Your bedrooms are all ready for your Daughter, all exciting, for their arrival.
Glad you had a nice little walk, but not so good that your friend was out, I am sure she will understand. I forgot to send a card to my Cousin in France, so I will have to email them. Ooops. By the time I had done all our cards I had lost the will.
They are all down now, the cats kept knocking them over and I sent them flying when I opened the curtains, so I packed them all up :?
I bet the camera on the front of the Flying Scotsman was really cool to watch
You do really well with your swimming Kerrin. Very good for mobility and takes the weight off joints. I think I need Thalassotherapy, would love that.
Glad that your creams are working as they should. I bet we all have a collection of creams and lotions. I am in constant battle with Pompholyx, winning at the moment, but, it appears from nowhere.
Nice that Lillie Rose (wonderful name) is polite and well mannered, well done to mum and dad, so many just don't seem to care any more, which is such a shame.
The meal out sounds very nice, even the place name sounds uber posh.
then to visit a friend who is cow sitting  :? as you do
Hope the fog has cleared, I don't like fog, so glad I don't drive now. I used to ride a motorcycle, it was terrible in fog and frost, I used to end up in tears if it was really bad. Wuss, I know.
Sending you lots of gentle hugs Kath, to ease the pain, love and warming light.
You have been busy though with the bus rides, time to have a rest and catch up.
Barbara that pie sounds yummy, but you are deff off your sweet things. We will have to find a cure in the pharmacy.
Carol that is SO annoying about your paperwork. No wonder you were mad, I would have been down the phone too, ranting. I understand perfectly what you wanted to say about the mess they have made.
Oh dear, you were both in bad moods, sending gentle hugs.
I am glad your Dad is better in himself and integrating more, that is nice to know. I am ok, just been a bit manic over the past few days and we are playing catch up.
We are going to pop round next door for an hour tonight, just to say Happy New year. A cup of T will do us just fine. We are not ones for being out of a night. We can see into their front room and vice versa, we often wave. Always leave side curtains open, in case we need each other.
Right my friends, I had better move my self and potter a bit. I am growing roots..............
Everyone take care. Duffy and Charlie are on over the new year. We are in good hands.

Good Morning all
cannot believe after all that went on yesterday that deed poll originals and copies arrived at 8.30am this morning so in 15 hrs I will officially have my maiden name back in my surname. happiness now resumed.
Now bring on the 4th and snuggles and baby cuddles.
Joan I wish you and your family a happy new year and a great 2017.
Aiden yes we are on day 4 of countdown and I am so looking forward to it. no we definitely don't want the white stuff :snowball-fight: don't like being trapped indoors. hope all the bruises heal up soon. if I didn't use my rollator or stick I would always be falling over mind you I don't particularly like using them but well needs must. yes I was always taught when I was a kid always to be polite and say please, thank you, sorry and excuse me in the necessary places and it is something that has been passed down my children grand children and now the great grandchildren. most parents these days are to busy with there mobile phones to teach the children anything. deedpoll forms here today so all is ok on that front now.
Happy New year to you all xx new year countdown smiley happy new year toast champagne bottle.Stay positive always👍xx0 -
Hi Joan No date yet for Lucy either, but she's down for any cancellations. I hope you hear soon too.
Aidan I totally get what you mean about needing some peace and quiet. I actually envied my MIL and Tia's GDad going home to an empty house after Christmas. It sort of mucks you about all the chatter, food and general overdoing it!
Nice to have pride of place in the G centre though x
Gosh I am so glad Mum is on antibiotics, but Dad x:shock: what can you say? He needs desperately to use his stick. Maybe if you tell him he is worrying Mum??? a bit of emotional blackmail???
I managed to get the Milton wipes yesterday and got 2 packs. Thanks for the tip
Gosh poor neighbour. Sounds like you couldn't have caught that anyway some sort of post op infection perhaps. I do not blame you for the mad clean though I would be the same. Last thing anyone needs x:roll:
Gosh you reminded me! Of one dreadful journey home 25 miles on my moped in Suffolk...fog so thick I was going at practically walking speed I to was bawling!!!
Another time it rained so much my undies splashed on the floor when I took them off!!!!
Christine the fog was still there, but had sun behind it? So clear enough for me to see safely. Fog all gone now typical ::)
I am so glad to hear your Dad is actually doing better if anything without his lady friend. That's good news really isn't it?
We are having an early meal out then home before 8 then bath and probably bed early like yourself.
Poor Carol! x:? What a debacle! (polite way of saying what you want to say I think. A fiasco!
Poor Mr Turbo I bet he is upset as it was a gesture for you and it's going to be late despite his best efforts
JUST spotted your post! CONGRATULATIONS!!! champagne bottle
At least you have your food order.
4 more sleeps now
Barbara potato pie and red cabbage - can I come next time please? Sounds lovely. Nothing sweet though?? x:shock: Have you got a temperature??? x
Fog all gone now so safe and sound.
I hope things have quietened down for you now after the Christmas rush too.
Oh Kath x:? I do hope all your bus-catching japes haven't caught up with you.
Take it steady for a day or so before any more jaunting about maybe? ((()))
Warm enough here thanks. Keep on lighting the fire
Love to everyone else

Evening all
yes Barbara I will be double barrelled officially about 3hrs 16mins as soon as the clock reaches 12.01 tonight. received the forms this morning after them travelling around 3 delivery offices because someone had miss-sorted it yes we were both absolutely fuming to say the least. especially after we had paid extra for them to be delivered before 1pm yesterday.
Toni yes if i'd have put on what I would have loved to said I would most certainly have been barred from her i'm sure Mr turbo
was very upset because we had asked for them to be post dated as from tomorrow and wanted the certificates in our possession by the 1st.
Happy New year one and all new year countdown smiley champagne bottleStay positive always👍xx0 -
Aiden, I know what you mean about down time. I'm not so social these days and like my peace and quiet. Just as well you got mum to the doctor. Hopefully the bruising won't spread. You retire? I don't think you have, have you? Still busy busy nursing everyone. Poor dad. Thankfully ok. Oops, no he isn't. Another fall. Guess you can only suggest he uses the stick but you can't make him. And your neighbour back in hospital. Hope they sort out what is wrong.
Joan, are you staying up to see the new year in? Hope next year is a good one for you and Sue.
Carol, thank goodness your papers have arrived so it is all go for tomorrow. My parents taught me manners and I taught my kids who taught their kids but you are right, a lot of parents don't.
Toni, how terrifying going through the fog on your scooter. I'd have been crying too. Glad it was clear enough to see yesterday.
Mig, it's the same here. Everything looks muddy. Yes, a good downpour would be good but during the night while we are all asleep.
Kath, glad you got your oromorph. Good idea to stay away from the busses for a short time. You'll soon be up to trying again.
Oh Barbara, you poor thing. Your poor back. I hope they have dozed you up with painkillers. I used to love going out on New Year's eve but not any more.
I had been thinking of going to my sister's for an hour or so tonight but when it came to it, I just felt too tired. There seem to be a few people not bothering. My daughter and her husband had a good night out in Edinburgh last night so are staying in tonight.
Wishing you all joy, peace and love and of course as little pain as possible for the coming year. XChristine0 -

Barbara I think you ought to actively consider what can be done for your back now. It doesn't sound stable at all Now you know I have mine done and am so glad I had it done. Ok the op wasn't great and recovery was hard, but after that. I feel safe it's not going to 'go' on me again now.
Sending you a tens machine and a wheatbag via Daisycat on the broom (with rain mac on).
