    Hi Everyone.

Well done Kath for your adventure on the bus.

I had a low key Christmas yesterday. A few people came over for lunch. I had a headache most of the day so just chilled.

Today is my last day in SA. [emoji23] went for a walk on the beach this morning and a swim in the sea as well. Now feeling rather lazy this afternoon, was thinking of going for a lagoon swim, but the ole body is not too keen, so just pottering around the house.

Enjoy your last day Kerrin, :( oh dear, always hard to leave, I am terrible at goodbye's. A nice time chilling out will be fine, pottering is a full time occupation, it is official :) Then the journey home, I hope it is as smooth as can be. Take care - it is chilly here, after a warm Christmas Day, it is not far off freezing. (have a jumper ready). XX

Hi Barbara It is cold, very cold in the wind. We turned the heating off as well yesterday, like you, the oven was kicking out enough heat to warm a small town.
They were yummy where they not. I hope they still have some when we go in next. I could eat them again quite easily.
Pass on a Scone? Faints on the spot. Don't worry, I will pop them in the fridge, for anyone to help themselves too.
Yes, Christmas is a time for bringing back memories of those no longer with us - I would love to go to one of Dads Midnight Mass again and sit there with Mum, for a candle lit service, dodging the wax, dripping down. LOL. But, we have memories that no one can take away.
I am sure our Niece will be ok, it is difficult, she was 29 and our Nephew was 27, when they lost both parents. OH is now the oldest on his family side, so we have a strong bond with them both and our Nephews Wife and kiddies.

Move on Aidan, I don't want to get to sounding morose. I am fine and we all keep an eye on one another :)
Mum is fine, just a graze thank goodness. She was lucky.

Neighbour duly came round and toe dressed and lots of chatting and encouragement, we have broad shoulders for people who are upset for one reason or another. She went away happy and much more settled.

That was very grown up of your middle GD to tidy up and make the bed - very proud.

Hope everyone is as ok as possible. Keep warm and take lots of care XXXX Aidan

Toni, good to hear you all had a good day. So you are a good hunter catching a big bird. It must have been fun watching Diddycat.

Joan, did you and Sue have a Christmas lunch? Has Sue settled back in at home?

Barbara, sounds as if you had a busy day. Glad the children enjoyed it. It's been mild here and the gritters were out. Don't think they were needed but maybe worried not to as they've been in trouble for getting it wrong in the past.

Aiden, it sounds as if you've had a busy time too. Hope your niece is ok. How awful to have lost both parents. Hope your niece is ok. Hope mum is ok too. Thank you for the tea and cream scones. Yum.

Kerrin, hope you managed to enjoy Christmas despite the headache. Hope it's cleared up now. Nothing wrong with a chilled day.

After a lovey day yesterday, I was silly last night and had cream on a mince pie then some ice cream and then chocolates. Think it was too much because I was in the bathroom most of the night. Felt much better after a trip to the park with my son and GD. We went on a bear hunt. Couldn't find any bears in the park so went to the garden centre. It was lovely with all the Christmas things. We found a polar bear, well a few polar bears and an owl which told us the story of Frosty the Snowman. And picked up a few bargains including a plastic greenhouse cover reduced from £40 to £1. Yes one pound. Spent most of the afternoon watching recorded Christmas films.

Evening all Glad you all seemed to have had a good day yesterday. our Christmas has been very quite one just myself Mr Turbo an youngest daughter. spent most of the time cooking eating and watching television. or snoozing. But not a bad Christmas really. I must admit I do miss the Christmases we used to have when the daughters were younger and the eldest grandchildren were in London and we would see them at sometime over the 2 days, but of course since they have moved away to kent as has my sister then we don't see them at Christmas.

Barbara I know what you mean this particular friend of mine is one of those people no matter what you tell her she is always the opposite very rarely agrees with you. and your right we get name back and keep the husband so the best of both worlds especially if they change their's as well.4
Mr T wasn't unwell just normal call of nature I am used to it due to the amount of fluid I drink on a normal basis. but it only happens rarely with him.

Applerose of course they do they are men after all

Joan wasn't too bad at Christmas a bit quite but very chilled out and as for a few days in January when I visit my eldest daughter and family that I will enjoy that not long to go now yippee.

Toni no I didn't do any knitting although if hadn't fallen asleep after dinner yesterday and today I would have done as everyone else was including the dog. and mr t wasn't all sweetness and light but not bad either.

will pop in again tomorrow now I have lifted the no laptop ban what did we used to do before they were invented.

stay healthy and hopefully pain free

Just popped in to say hello to everyone.Dan was fine with his small collection of pressies and he did love the lego and scoffed all the sweets (well I've kept some maltesers back, I know Matron loved them)!
We still have one Daughter due to visit at some point.

Dinner was a bit of a let down...the timing was all out so goose had to carry on cooking when everything else was ready. Then OH left the goose out instead of putting it in the fridge overnight but we still had goose stew the next day, very well heated. I'm paranoid about food poisoning so only had a small bowl and now won't eat any more.

I always get charms for my bracelet and this year I got a fish, sea horse and a FROG!!!!

I see Toady popped in.....Hello Toady, hope you are well.

Love to all, see you laters ...

I did indeed Elizabeth, they were all over the cafe, mountains of them, sadly I cannot eat them like I used to :cry: I used to share them though, well, sometimes :lol:

I am so glad Dan was happy with the presents and the chocolates, Lucy too as well.
Oops about the Goose. I would be just the same - we are very alike when it comes to bugs and food, I know just how you feel. As long as it was super cooked, then all will be well I am sure.

Three charms, one of them a frog, well, they are supposed to be very lucky.

I can agree with you Kath, it is not my fav time of year to be honest and new year is even less so, as Mum passed away on new years day, 2 years ago now. So when we get past next week, we are heading towards Spring, I think :? :D

Hi Joan, Mum IL leg was fine, until she walked into one of our large planters the other day, at the bottom of the ramp. It is a bit dark there at night. It is bruised, but I am not happy with it, so insisted today, that I check it and she goes to GP if suggested by Matron.
you both take care, love to all and the doggies too. I hope the antibiotics are doing the trick, yes, improving, if up and using the wheelchair. the jigzone, now, I will have to take a look at that one, sounds v interesting.

Everyone fell to sleep at Carols, including the doggy, bless. At least Mr T was in reasonable humour. Glad the day went well, although not the same as time past. I think we all feel that way at this time of year. XX

Hope everyone else is as ok as possible. Better sort out pills, I am late.........hugs and extra chocolates all round. XX Aidan

    Morning All

Carol 7 more days to go - 7 more days to cuddles!! :) Lovely :)

I do the jigsaws when I've got time it's a good site.

Are you back knitting by now? Have you attempted one of those mermaid blankets? I had one for Christmas it's fabulous!

    Barbara
well-done for getting sales bargains albeit online ;) Thank you we are all well ATM, but scared it won't last as my bro came boxing day with his girls and my SIL. One of the girls went home feeling sick now bro and SIL have it  I think I must have anti-bac'd the whole house yesterday TWICE!!! x:shock:

Good news Joan that Sue managed her Christmas from the chair, bit grotty to still be on so many antibiotics...mind you better safe than sorry.

Aidan yes!! Malteasers!! Eeeh! Them were t'days :)

Glad to hear everyone is ok apart from Mum's bruise. Did it turn out to be ok? Is she on warfarin?

Life has been a bit manic the last few days hasn't it?

have you got any disinfectant spray for me?

Elizabeth How thoughtful you are remembering Matron and the 'teasers!! :)

I am so glad Dan was happy and that you have one daughter yet to visit so still fun to have :)

As for your charm. I can tell already which charm is your favourite! The most pretty....and clever even...the FROG!! Lovely x:D

Our turkey came close to misbehaving too here grrrr! but with Charley's help we pulled it off.

Christine - maybe you had 'the bug' rather than over-eating? Poor you I hope you are now properly ok?

The bear hut sounded fun and of course garden centres do keep polar bears safe this time of year ;)

A £1 greenhouse cover? Well DONE you!!

I hope Kerrin is safe and sound back home having her pressies by now

    Love to you all

Feeling a bit more cheerful today, because I've been on another bus ride into town. :winter-storm: It didn't get as foggy as they said it was going to be. Freezing though.

Hi everyone. Back home safe and sound and ready to crash. I don't sleep well on planes and it wasn't helped by a 2 hour delay on the runway due to an extra bag having been loaded. Have kept busy (to avoid sleeping) by taking OH out to eat and to see Star Wars.

Will catch up properly tomorrow when I'm more awake.

Joan, good to hear Sue is getting better even if it is slowly. I didn't know you could put your own photos on the jigzone site. What a good idea.

Elizabeth, glad Dan was happy with his presents. What a pity about the goose but sounds as if it was ok in the end. How lovely to get some more charms. Do you have many now?

Aiden, I always like to think that once Christmas and New Year are over, we are on our way to spring then summer. Hope mum's leg is ok and the bruising is going down.

Barbara, it is a good idea to buy birthday presents in the sales. Hope you feel better after overeating the sweets.

Carol, I was the same, stayed in for 2 days then enjoyed a trip out to the park for some fresh air. Must be only 6 days till baby cuddles now, is it?

Toni, hope the antibac worked and you all managed to avoid the bug. It could have been that I had. I was fine by lunchtime the next day.

Kath, you are doing so well, another bus trip. I'm sure you'll have a better year next year.

Kerrin, welcome home. Hope your sleep pattern gets back to normal quickly.

Got a phone call yesterday to say that my GD wanted to come and play. Daddy brought her and she told him he didn't need to stay. I think she knew she could get away with more if he wasn't there. She helped me built my Christmas model village and all the teddies had a picnic.

My daughter and her family are in Scotland now. They are coming here around the 5th January. Looking forward to squeezing them all.

    evening one and all
Toni yes its now 6 days to baby cuddles an counting I am back knitting have not tried the mermaid blankets but would like to at some point. the puzzles site dose seem good.

Joan its been a good day today despite the fact that I hace a very dry and itchy red skin rash which dr thinks maybe is a non contagious type of dermatitis on my face and neck which she has given me some cream for. so hopefully it will be better soon.

Applerose yep 6 days to cuddles.

deed poll forms posted back after signing today by recorded delivery so hopefully our copies will be with us by the 1st couple off days in January. then comes the fun of informing everyone. so looking forward to a busy few days when I get back from margate.

Evening to one and to all, well, nearly morning - ooooh it is SO frosty out there :frozen: :winter-storm: The car looked like it had a white shag pile carpet on top of it this morning and the decking was very slippy. Managed to teeter down and get in the car - leather seats are a bit of a shock when it is below freezing  chilly on the botty. Quick, turn the heated seats on asap.

Thank you for picking me up off the floor Barbara, much appreciated. I was getting into maudling in a big way. Am ok now.
I am sure Dad will have taken his Services, whilst travelling the Heaven's above. Bless

Pandora seems to be VERY popular, it was the one thing that our younger niece wanted, so we arranged with SIL, sent money for her and nephew and SIL got them what they wanted, sports things for Nephew and Charm for Niece.
They are all up from London this week, staying at a lovely park, not far from us. We all met up at the garden center today, with other BIL and SIL from Huddersfield. 10 of us were assembled. Everyone had a nice brunch, scones, hot chocolate, marshmallows, cream, (coffee for moi), bacon and egg muffins, oh it was all go, lol. Lovely to get together and then everyone came back to ours, for a cuppa and opening of presents.
I kept an eye on Pepe, he was a bit overwhelmed with such a house full of people, so I sat in the bedroom a while with him.

We will meet up with them again tomorrow, at Mum n Dads, for a cuppa, in the afternoon, then they will be heading back down south on Friday.

Sorry, I am wandering - don't worry about being naughty with the sweets Barbara, things don't count until the New Year, no calories (I hope)  I am sat next to two tins of chocolates and some Ferrero's - I am being good, I only have three chocolates at bed time, settles me down (that's what I tell OH):lol: :?

Well done for getting some good presents in the sales, wise indeed.

Hi Carol, we were a bit like that over Christmas, we were rooted to the house for three days I think, which is unheard of really. Mind, you, it was nice, to have a bit of "down time". It has been cold, Christmas was wet wet wet, now we are frozen bow legged.
Where are we now, 5 days to go, until cuddles - we are all on countdown with you and excited.
Your forms will be back before you know it, very good :)

Hi Toni - Glad all went well, with you and yours. Oh dear, sickness bugs lurking - I will be round with the disinfectant - A good one to have around is the Milton trigger spray, milton gets rid of more bugs and viruses as well, which others don't touch. I always have some in the kitchen cupboard, along with about 50 other assorted chemical things  :? :? Anti bac is always a good idea, I was the same after everyone had gone this afternoon, towel in wash, loo, sink and every surface, lock, light pull, etc, all fumigated. I said to OH, use the en suite, this one is out of bounds until I have "fussed".

Things have been a little chaotic the past few days, but, t'is the season.

Yes, the maltesers, we had to have them all over the cafe and I always knew if one was missing, lol. Them were t' days luv.:lol:

I was not happy with Mums bruising today, so I have insisted she goes to the surgery tomorrow, in fact I made the appointment while they were here today. Yes, on warfarin, yes, very black in parts, me, not happy with it.........

Your turkey was misbehaving then, naughty thing. Glad it succumbed to the necessary treatment from yourself and Charlie. I think we all managed to produce a good meal from our 4 corners of the land. How's diddicat? Well I hope. Pepe is happy, as are the girls, now that just Daddies are at home. They are all asleep, tell a lie, Cookie is peeping at me.

Hi Joan - it has been a rough year and a lot of sad news recently. The natural emotion is always heightened at this time of year - I don't like to look at the news, every day, there seems to be more and more loss.
We have to move forward though, it is the only way, difficult as it is. I hope Sue is doing ok on her AB's and managing to get about a little. Many hugs to you and Sue and the doggies. Keep warm and safe, it is mighty chilly. I think it going to warm up, well, go above freezing anyway.

And you have been on another bus journey Kath, well done you, glad you are feeling a bit better. We had fog warnings, then it has been sunshine all day long.

Good to know that you are back home, safe and sound. I was thinking of you, making the long journey home.
A two hour delay on the runway, oh I would have been fit to be tied. Only once have I slept on a plane, that was coming back from Chicago, to Manchester, we paid a little extra for what they called super comfort, we had huge seats that fully reclined, SO much leg room, blankets, pillows..........the flight was as smooth as silk, from take off to landing and I did actually nod off, woke up with only 50 mins to land.
Every other flight I have been gripping the seats like a vice. :?
Hope you enjoyed the meal out and Star Wars. You will be mighty tired for a few days

Hi Christine, yes, we are nearly on our way to Spring, which I love, as much as Autumn and Winter. Just the bit in the middle when we all melt.
Glad you are feeling better - this bug that is doing to rounds, affects people in so many ways, some feel sickly, some are, some have the runs, some just stomach griping, it's a nasty little virus and we don't want it around. War on Norovirus. Soap and water are good against it and good hand hygiene.
Sounds like you had fun alongside you GD, with the village and the teddies having a picnic. :)
I am jealous of your Daughter and family being in Scotland. I am waiting for the email to say I have won the lottery and we are off. ( It might be a long wait  ) I bet you are looking forward to squishing them all - you are on countdown, the same as Carol.

Hope your skin rash vanishes as soon as it came Carol. Contact dermatitis per chance, can be caused by a multitude of things, from perfumes, to soap, to wash powder, skin creams...........

OH is turfing out drawers, throwing things in the bin that we neither need nor want. I think it is the new year clean, starting early. I had better see what is going going gone. I do love a good throw out. We still have half a ton of paperwork from when we lived in France, I think that can go now.........9 years on.

Everyone take care, I must move, I am set like a jelly. Lots of love XXXX Aidan

Morning everyone. Slept very well last night, fell asleep at 8pm! Jet lag isn't too bad from SA as its only a 2 hour time difference. I don't sleep well on planes despite being able to sleep just about anywhere else.

Going swimming this morning. Need to keep up the exercise and then to the docs for my monitoring blood test. The rest of the day pottering around the house.

Well done Kath, you are becoming a regular on the bus.

5 days to cuddles, how exciting.

Gentle hugs to everyone who needs them.

    Morning everyone!

Welcome home Kerrin :) I am glad you are safe and sound and treated OH to Star Wars film :)

I hope your swim is ok and bloods are good :)

How lovely seeing so many family members in one go Aidan! The garden centre must have thought it was a coach even though they know you well!!!

Very wise to look after Pepe a bit it's not good for the little boy all those people. I pop Daisy out of harms way when there are many like that too.

I am glad Mum's bruise will be being checked over. Black really is a nasty sight to see :( warfarin is a life-saver of course, but has effects :(

Milton do a spray? Well I never!! I will find some ASAP does it damage anything??

Carol - My mermaid blanket Lucy got me for Christmas and it's almost got scales knitted into it. :) Very cosy, but easy to 'flap out of' if you overheat

Not likely today it's FFFFFFreeeezing!! r075.gif

5 more days to go, 5 more days till cuddles :)

Christine I think the same after New Year, but after Christmas is usually the coldest time isn't it?

So far none of us have caught the bug from bro's family, but every single one of them has had it. Only a 24 hour thing with another 24 hours recovering so you could easily have had it.

GD wants you all to herself - no chatting between you and her Daddy ;) Adorable :)

Won't be long until your daughter is back. We did Scotland over Christmas many times in the past it was fabulous and Hogmanay too once or twice.

Kath I am so so pleased with you :) You have done so well. That's what shear determination can do! Lucy has gone to stay with a friend yesterday, Paul and I took her and it was proper foggy :(

Joan it's been a bad year for celebrity deaths hasn't it? A lot of ill-health around too. I am hoping 2017 will be Lucy's year, you and her have your operations and of course that Sue is feeling 100% again :)

Did I miss you Barbara I can't find your post.... x:? I hope all is well with you and the family ((()))

Love to Elizabeth, Toady, Mig and anyone else I missed
Right better get something done eh?

    Love

    Toni xxx

Swimming was tough, partly because there were only 3 of us there so coach had too much time to make sure I wasn't taking any shortcuts, and I haven't done a proper session for 2 weeks.

Now sitting having a Macdonald's breakfast as had to take OH to work when his car wouldn't start. No point in going home as blood test in half hour. Then home to crash.

Toni, hope you manage to avoid the bugs.

Wrap up warm, it's cold out there. My car [emoji594] had layers of ice on it this morning.

morning all popped in for a quick cuppa in the café before I go out for my little daily outing.

Well I am certainly on countdown now had call from deed poll office our completed forms will be with us by 1pm tomorrow 30th so its now 2days till the name change becomes official on the 1st. and 5 days to cuddles and snuggles on the 4th. hey ho one happy bunny here today.

yesAiden I know what you mean it is practically unheard of for us to be indoors all day let alone 2 days. Christmas was dry but chilly now its jolly cold :frozen: hope we don't get any of this stuff :snowplow: cos I will be trapped Indoors for as long as it lasts and that will drive me up the wall.

Toni nice to know the mermaid blankets are warm I will have to knit some for me and the great granddaughters as there house can be freezing in the winter living by the sea.

Joan yes the days cant go quick enough to the 4th believe me.

Well must shake the body up and get ready to go out soon for a bite of lunch and a few bits of shopping :winter-storm:
    Stay positive always👍xx
